On this episode of the podcast I discuss my Long Covid treatment and medical professional input from acute covid to the treatment I am having to date. I started treatment 6 months ago and I explain more about this and reflect upon my journey to getting to this point. Like many I have been unable to access any appropriate treatment or medical professional input via the NHS, this does seem to be a postcode lottery and Long Covid clinics I am advised more often then not are not fit for purpose. My experience with the Long Covid clinic in my area took 2 years to access, was brief and inappropriate, I discuss this on the episode. I talk about using my medical knowledge to manage my symptoms and to support getting a referral to cardiology and gaining a diagnosis of POTS.I explain how meeting Dr Binita Kane and interviewing her for the podcast opened a door for me to access treatment via the private sector route. I have now been on treatment for 6 months. I also discuss how this journey and following losing my NHS job has led me to have the opportunity to work alongside Dr Binita Kane, to find out more listen to this episode, as always please take care. In this episode of the podcast I had the honour of speaking with Dr Asad Khan. Dr Khan talks openly about his own experience of Long Covid, the treatment he has had, the gaslighting experienced, subsequent diagnosis of MCAS, POTS and pericarditis. Dr Khan explains the treatments he has had to date and how he has had to travel to access these treatments as we are not undertaking these in the UK. This has been undertaken privately and Dr Khan acknowledges how not everyone can afford or are able to access treatments abroad. We discuss how this impacts life, how people have lost their lives and taken their lives due to the disabling impact of Long Covid. Dr Khan and I talk about vaccine injury, organ damage and the possibilities that appropriate research and treatment may offer. Dr Khan offers hope for the future and advises people to try to understand and read up on their symptoms, implementing some pacing, vagal nerve stimulation, protecting the gut microbiome and other symptom management. "The pandemic within the pandemic" A pulmonologist (respiratory physician) joins Ikoi and Liam to discuss Long Covid. After catching Covid on the frontline Dr. Asad Khan has endured numerous health issues which has opened his eyes to a level of suffering amongst patients dealing with chronic health issues. From not being believed by fellow professionals ("it's just psychological") to the social stigma and denial surrounding Long Covid, we explore the systemic incuriosity within the medical system and PTSD patients can experience from repeatedly interfacing with 'efficient' professionals. We also touch on why there is a sense of mass denial surrounding Long Covid: the fear of becoming 'worth-less'. Imagine going on a holiday, where you can get around in only one of three ways - walking, riding a donkey or riding a bicycle. You would also have to carry your suitcases and bags around with no taxi to transport it around. This would be true if you went to places like the island Hydra in Greece, the city of Ghent in Belgium and many islands in Maldives. To talk about how interesting or difficult life would be in such islands, we are joined by Renee Agarwal from Emerald Heights International School, Indore and Anjaneya Navin from Bunt Sangha's S M Shetty International School & Junio College, Mumbai. In this Episode, I (@Jivraj Singh Sachar) speak with Asad Khan, Co-Founder & CEO of Lambda Test. Asad is one of the most fascinating founders I've had on the show, as he exhibits the founder experience from both a bootstrapped mindset, having built a multi-million dollar services business and the venture mindset, building a global product giant currently. Lambda Test is working towards becoming the AWS of Testers, covering more than a million developers and 500 enterprises currently! They are one of the most disruptive DevTools companies being built from India. Considering the innovative nature of what Asad is building and the massic scope ahead, I tried to be mindful of the insights we could derive from his journey. Through the episode, we focus on tactical aspects around hiring senior leaders, looking out for great talent, the importance of storytelling internally at a growth oriented fast-moving company, GTM strategies that worked and that did not, trying to uncover how Lambda Test got here. I thoroughly enjoyed Asad's insights on the show and strongly recommend sticking around till the end. But before we get started, here is a quick word on our sponsor for the episode: Stride Ventures, which is one of India's leading Venture Debt Funds, becoming synonymous with innovative startup financing in India. Stride provides comprehensive solutions, going beyond venture debt, to cater to distinctive challenges faced by high-growth and inherently strong businesses, backed by leading institutions. The fund has a portfolio of over 60+ diversified companies, having deployed more than Rupees 1500 Crore to date. In just over two years, Stride Ventures has emerged as the preferred venture debt lender in the Indian Ecosystem. While larger supermarkets sell some halal products such as packaged chicken, Asad says it is difficult to find other cuts of meat such as goat, lamb and beef. Halal Station offers a wide variety of South Asian products including spices, beverages, and the ever-popular range of halal meats. Asad spoke with me about how the Fredericton market makes it a great opportunity for potential growth and makes it a great place to test new products or services.

Following on from our interview with Professor Resia Pretorius and her hypothesis of microclots driving the symptoms of Long Covid, we speak to Dr Asad Khan, a Long Hauler who has travelled to Mülheim, Germany, to undergo H.E.L.P. Apheresis in a bid to remove those clots. Khan talks us through the process in detail, describing how he was able to visibly see these clots in the blood that was drawn out of him as he underwent this method of filtration and blood cleansing. But it has been the addition of anticoagulants that really seem to have made a marked difference to Khan. Fascinating anecdotal findings which warrant further research and discussion.
