Graham Platner quit the Maine Senate race. He just forgot the one part that legally counts: filing the paperwork. Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell has been in a hospital for almost a month with no photo, no diagnosis, and no proof of life beyond phone calls vouched for by men who want his job. Colorado Republicans nominated a governor candidate who will not say how many people he has killed. ICE shot a 52 year old grandfather on his way to work in Houston, then pressured the only witnesses to deport themselves. And the President of the United States announced, mid-war, that America was attacked by the Islamic Republic of Japan, a country that does not exist.I read every filing, every poll, and every deranged tweet so you don't have to. We're back after a thrilling and dramatic inaugural Round of 32 at the World Cup! We were going to lead off the pod with Germany, but then Cabo Verde happened (again). What a story and what a performance (again) from the Blue Sharks, who took Messi and the defending champions to the very brink in Miami, and in the process, provided one of the greatest World Cup games of the century. We spend some time heaping love on their performance, from the heroic individual performances to the brilliance of Bubista's tactics to their undying belief and stamina. What a moment, what a team. Next, we move on to tournament disappointments, including Germany, The Netherlands, and Senegal. First, we wonder what should Germany's identity be moving forward and why couldn't Nagelsmann get it right with this group. Then we tackle Koeman's catastrophe versus Morocco, where he seemed to sabotage his own team's chances for success, before asking what went wrong for a Senegal group that was fully in control with ten minutes to play against Belgium. Elsewhere, all six pre-tournament favorites advanced, but only France and Spain comfortably. England were pushed to the brink by a terrific DR Congo, with Harry Kane coming up huge again. Is this a sign of trouble for the Three Lions or were Congo just awesome? Brazil also need a late winner to send Japan home, but a promising second half performance has us wondering if we're foolishly doubting Carlo once again. Portugal, too, were up against it, with some questionable VAR interventions salvaging Ramos' stoppage time go-ahead. We debate if Croatia were unfairly treated, how they bossed the second half, and whether this version of Portugal has any chance against Spain. We also officially welcome Morocco and Norway into our Official Contenders circle. Congrats to all involved. All 3 hosts have advanced, so we look ahead to each's chances to reach the quarterfinals. The U.S. is, like, better than Belgium right? Can Mexico really knock out England in the Azteca? And can Canada hang with Morocco? And finally, we power rank the remaining 16 nations and identify the round's best games. One final cheers to maestro, Bubista! Chapters: 00:00 – the start 01:28 – Cabo Verde 11:42 – Germany 21:17 – Netherlands 29:27 – Senegal-Belgium 33:50 – England-DR Congo 40:53 – Brazil 43:48 – Spain & France 45:12 – Portugal-Croatia 54:10 – Argentina 57:43 – Morocco & Norway are contenders 01:01:39 – Hosts advance: USA, Mexico, Canada 01:13:22 – Farewell Ivory Coast, Japan 01:19:24 – Round of 16, power rankings 01:22:51 – Round of 16, pick 'em

The U.S. has decided not to renew a key trade agreement with Canada and Mexico. The decision plunges Minnesota's agriculture industry into uncertainty. Lawmakers grilled the Minnesota Department of Human Services' leader Wednesday about the agency's process for revalidating Medicaid providers. Oral arguments are set Thursday morning in three lawsuits challenging Minnesota's ban on prediction markets. In May, Minnesota became the first state to outlaw prediction markets, which allow users to bet on everything from sports to current events. Supporters of the ban say the markets are unregulated gambling platforms.

You think the FIA bailed out Honda...it was Newey, really.Climb the ladder with me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsYesterday afternoon the FIA clearly detailed how the new ADUO mechanism actually works. Honda's in line for up to $19 million in development relief after Canada...but then I realised what Honda's own F1 project leads had been saying for months now. A careful message about who actually built the problem the FIA's now paying to fix. Honda is blaming Newey for this mess...in a corporate way. However, the request that started this whole mess might be redeemed should the 2027 changes start to fix Formula 1. Honda may be a in good place come next year...and it won't be mainly down to the design genius who asked too much.#f1 #astonmartinf1 #adriannewey #formula1 #formulaone #f12026 #astonmartin #formula12026 #f1news #fiaf1 #fia #f1newstoday #f1updates #f1latest #f1cars #f1car #f1drivers #f1driver #f1teams #f1gossip #f1drama #amr26 Get 15% off at the Castore Official website with my special link: https://glnk.io/ryj2p/lawrence #adcastoreaff FIA Bails Out Adrian Newey's Mistakehttps://youtu.be/IUdXC4dgAnI Hosted on Acast. Our theme today at KKHI is a whole bunch of messes people are cleaning up. Hawaiian Bros is a fast food chain that originated in KC and their Royals promotion of giving away free lunch when the Royals score 6 or more was just crushing their business. So they've changed it. It reminds me of the historic, high scoring Chiefs of 2002 and 2003 when I started the "Custard's Last Stand" Club that featured our radio sponsors giving percentage discounts equal to the points the Chiefs scored the day before. Get this: We even sold brand new cars for half price. It was chaos. Fresh off is appearance as fill in White House Press Secretary, Marco Rubio is now the odds on favorite to be president according to prediction site Kalshi. A family gets a free pool and you won't believe how this happened. A college women's soccer team gets beaten by a 13 year old boys team. Golden Tempo won't run in the Preakness and that's a lame as it gets and the NY Times isn't going away any time soon.

On his weekly Chipped Ham & Football podcast, Post-Gazette Steelers insider Brian Batko welcomes colleague Gerry Dulac for a recap of the NFL owners meetings from the team's perspective. Gerry explains how the team expects to get a decision from QB Aaron Rodgers about returning for 2026 before the NFL draft. And that if Rodgers retires or heads elsewhere, the team plans to sign a veteran QB. But not necessarily one that would be poised to start, a la Kirk Cousins, who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday. Would this be good news for Mason Rudolph and especially Will Howard as a show of faith in their abilities to lead the team? How does the Cousins signing change the math for both Rodgers and the Steelers? And is money really an issue as former QB Charlie Batch hinted this week? Our duo tackles those questions, reacts to comments from GM Omar Khan, coach Mike McCarthy and owner Art Rooney II and potential issues with NFL officiating amid a dispute with the referees.
