In this episode of NaskoChats, I am actually starting a new series on the podcast that I hope to continue in the future - Story Time. My dear friend Saareen from Florida, who is the first storytime guest, inspired me through this podcast to share the stories of people. Saareen shares her story as a daughter of immigrant parents from Bangladesh experiencing a lot of discrimination, racism, sexism, and other values in a predominantly white school in Florida. A look of deep reflection and great conversation for Saareen to share her narrative with the world, one she hopes others can relate to. What is Story Time? Story Time is a series for people to express their story of adversity, success, or any story of significance to them. The point of the series isn't really so much a conversation like my regular episodes but listening to the guests and letting them drive their narrative with me asking driving and non-pointed questions. I hope to let people's narratives, emotions, downfalls, successes, and much more come to light and hopefully find people that can relate to these storytimes. Sharing one's story is not only important but freeing and healing. We all have a story to share, mine will be throughout this podcast and many more episodes, but it's important to listen, absorb, relate, sympathize, and appreciate narratives of fellow human beings. Please use these resources for education and advocacy and allyship towards BLM and Asian Hate and Discrimination: BLM Website - Resources National Education Association (edjustice) - Black Lives Matter Resources and Educational Material Anti-Asian Violence Resources And many more ... everyone can get educated through a simple Google search. Please go and educate yourselves in order to sympathize and help these important causes! Please leave a review and tweet me @nasko_tenev with any suggestions, questions, or topics you would like us to talk about in future episodes. Thank you for listening everyone! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/atanas-tenev/message

Hi Lovies, Happy Saturday. I hope you are all well. This week I have another solo episode for you that is near and dear to my heart. In this episode, I speak about a lot of my struggles over the past 6 months and how I managed to feel better when feeling better seemed almost impossible to do. I know it can feel so singular, and isolating, like no one could ever know what you are going through and while I cannot pretend to have fought your battles, I do want you to know that you are not alone. I hope this episode can provide some comfort to anyone who is going through it. No one teaches you how to make yourself feel better, when it seems too overwhelming to do so. However, you can do it. I promise you. Happy Saturday Friends, “A Love Letter to My High School Best Friends,” was one of the hardest episodes to record yet. Mostly because I am still navigating my own relationship with this topic. It seems as though we undervalue the pain of friendship “breakups.” Always talking about the heartbreak that results from a romantic one, but never taking the time to discuss just how difficult it is to end platonic relationships as well, especially without closure. In this episode I discuss how sometimes we can draw closure from understanding that both individuals are moving on, that we are no longer trying to preserve a relationship that might not suit either of us anymore. This episode is titled a love letter to my high school best friends because I care about each person I encountered with in high school, they witnessed integral parts of me becoming me, but at the same time I acknowledge our relationship is changing, in fact, it must. I hope this episode can provide you the strength you need to evaluate some for your relationships, to love yourself enough to save the relationships you want to and say goodbye to some others.
