While it's been mostly life and death around here, with the arrival of the more commercially-minded 80s the noir took a turn towards the funny. We're looking first at Steve Martin's 1982 parody Dead Men Won't Wear Plaid, followed by Zemeckis's glorious 1988 cartoon mash-up Who Framed Roger Rabbit.Recommendations:Tristan - Youth of the Beast, HarakiriFred - Flux GourmetBrandon - PearlWritten & Produced by Tristan Johnson & Fred Pelzer. Aasia LaShay Bullock and Jon are in agreement when it comes to Santa: He is not necessary. If you want to raise your children sans Claus, then you should do it and save yourself the trouble of spinning progressively more complicated lies. Brandon Shockney does not agree with this opinion. Brandon's grip on the joys of Santa is like that of a bear trap upon your very leg. It is unyielding. It is dangerous. And it is probably going to kill us with time. But enough about Brandon being crazy. It's Christmas time at the Tanner house once more! "Arrest Ye Merry Gentlemen" sees the Nuggets turning a sickly yellow at the very mention of old Chris Kringle, while Jesse and Michelle are finding themselves the hostage of a wildly cranky Mickey Rooney. Will anyone make it to Christmas Day alive? Doubtful! In other news, Aasia is taking us on a tour of hands free wine tech while waxing on her love for teen witches. And that movie we discuss? It's called 'The Star' and Oprah is not playing one of the animals, spoiler alert. Spoiler alert, Keegan-Michael Key is the dove, and Kelly Clarkson is playing a Goddamn HORSE. Did we mention how thankful we are for the 101 RATINGS in the iTunes Store? Because we're incredibly thankful and are so happy to have you as a listener. "Me?" YES, YOU. Thank you! XOXO

Brandon Shockney is on this week! In the battle of who's stronger, Overwatch heroes of Marvel superheroes, the true winner is our wallets during the Steam Sale.
Johnny Kyle Cook and Brandon Shockney agree: Jon touches his face way too Goddamn much. Are they right? Are they wrong? Perhaps we'll never know! What we do know is Johnny has returned to help us burn through YET ANOTHER five episodes of the classic (?) sitcom's fifth season. Those episodes: Crushed; Spellbound; Too Much Monkey Business; The Devil Made Me Do It, and Driving Miss D.J. There's a lot to unpack here, including appearances by singer Tommy Page and a straight up fucking monkey. Did the monkey send Jon down a conspiratorial rabbit hole worthy of JFK? Yes. Is Brandon's favorite off-brand soda going to surprise and disturb you? Yes. You know, you ask too many questions, maybe stop ASKING and start LISTENING. XOXO
Brandon Shockney is back on So Many Bits to help Bill talk their shared love of the Phoenix Wright games! No objections here.
Brandon Shockney and Justine Krueger join Bill to talk about their video game themed sketch show! Check it out the next two weeks at iO Chicago!
Your friendly neighborhood Brandon Shockney swung by MBSing with some sweet Spider-Man knowledge in tow. From the uber '90s animated series to the current Ultimate Spider-Man comic series with Miles Morales to the next remounting of Spidey's story on the big screen, Brandon and I explore what it is about Spider-Man that makes him an accessible hero. I learned a ton about the different iterations of the character while Brandon humored my critiques of the more recent additions to the Marvel film universe (as well as voicing his own frustrations and desires for bigger risks to be taken). We even take apart the recent phenomenon of indie director darlings being brought on to helm huge film series installments and how undeniably hot Marisa Tomei (the future Aunt May...) is. Jon Watts, the next Spider-Man director Thanks to Jackbox Games for sponsoring and the Chicago Podcast Cooperative for coordinating sponsors.
Tyler Paterson is a more than a guy sharing an urban legend around a campfire. Though he and his family do enjoy this pastime, they're only telling stories of their own experiences. Tyler has experienced constant unsettling dreams and various unexplainable events with ghosts in his life, and as a result he has essentially academically studied ghosts and used his experiences as inspiration for multiple supernatural romance ebooks published under a pen name and a published novel of his own called Dark Satellites coming out in August. This is a really fun, interesting, creepy chat. I'm not much for the spooky stuff myself, so a lot of Tyler's tales are new, weird territory for me. I loved it, and he really brought home the way it has affected his life creatively by tying his writing career to the search for knowledge on the paranormal: "that quest for the unknown creates opportunities for what becomes the known." In the last decade or so, there's been a wave of video games that not only ask you to make choices but then remember the choices you've made. The morality engine behind games like Dragon Age and anything from Telltale is a large part of those games' appeal. Clayton, John Patrick Coan, and Brandon Shockney get into some of their favorite games that require big-impact choices here, but we're only asking you to make one choice: LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST.
This week Brandon Shockney returns and brings Jonathon Pernisek from the "How Rude!" Full House podcast to play a game of Protocol with James.

Jonathon Pernisek and Brandon Shockney kick off How Rude! The Full House Podcast by deconstructing both the original, unaired pilot (starring John Posey in place of Bob Saget) and the first official episode, Our Very First Show. Newsflash: Full House may not be a great series. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact us at thehowrudepodcast@gmail.com.

All of the following are humans: Ben Russell (arguably), Xander O'Connor (iconically), Brandon Shockney (imperturbably), and Jacob Liggins (duskily). In addition to being humans, they are all on this episode of our fine show. Someone probably says the word "dicks". Listen to this pod. We technically succeed in our formal goal of reviewing a drink (this week a red wine) but spend most of the time talking nonsense. Like bosses.
It's the showdown the international community has been demanding (in various languages): America versus Australia. It all ends here. USA! USA! USA! I am not biased. Xander and American guest Brandon Shockney square off against Ben and fellow Australian Susie Youssef as the group talks total nonsense and reviews a beer from each country. Not just any beer from each country but what can only be described as "the premium essence" of each country. Intrigued? No? Damn. Listen to the show anyway. Comedy happens. That last line sounds like the tagline on the poster for an inspirational movie about a comedian who gets AIDS. Fortunately, that does not happen on this episode.
