Have you ever stopped to question if your fundraising messaging is ethical? Despite our best intentions as professional fundraisers, it is crucial for us to recognize that certain traditional fundraising methods no longer hold up under scrutiny in 2023. In our efforts to showcase the serious need for donations with often sad, evocative imagery, we run the risk of contributing to a negative stereotype or, even worse, retraumatizing those we are trying to help. Or we paint a picture of perfect success stories, only to discount the very real challenges our organizations are trying to solve.  While facing financial targets, it can indeed be tempting to prioritize the preferences and desires of donors. However, it is crucial for us to pause and reflect on whether such prioritization is being done at the expense of our mission and the well-being of our community. In this rebroadcast from Season 1, P2PPF's Marcie Maxwell sits down with Covenant House International's Associate Vice President of Site Development, Meghan Coan, and Associate Vice President of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising.  Meghan and Colleen share a passion for ethical storytelling, which informs their work with their signature Sleep Out program. This shows Brian Daboll is a good coach, unlike Rob Saleh. Gio said Tommy DeVito should be sliding into DMs of Instagram models, especially on a bye week. C-Lo returns for an update but first we talked about Al already starting to listen to Christmas music. The Eagles are underdogs at home to the Niners even though they are 10-1. Tom Brady talked about teams constantly changing offenses and how much of a disadvantage it puts them at. Tyreek Hill said this Dolphins team is better than the Super Bowl team he was on with the Chiefs. Tiger Woods talked about still competing and will walk away when he can no longer win again. The Moment of The Day involved a writer who said Boomer's information should be ‘taken with a grain of salt'. Episode 100 is here, and I knew I wanted to discuss something that is extremely important to me.  This topic is something that I am so passionate about, and one that I have devoted most of my life, my time, and my energy into.   Over the years I have learned that anything that is important to me, requires a lot of attention and work, but the rewards along the way are amazing. So the topic I chose to feature on this 100th episode is creating strong, positive and loving relationships, particularly  Marriage and Family relationships.   Of all the roles I hold in my life, being a wife and a mother are the two most important to me. Because this topic is one of great importance, I invited Sarah Curtis, an expert in the field of Marriage and Family relationships, to discuss these things with me.  I have a very special guest with me here to discuss how to create those strong, positive, and loving marriage and family relationships, because this is something we are both passionate about.  Not only is Sarah a wife and mother of five sons, she holds a Ph.D. in Marriage, Family, and Human Development and taught marriage courses at BYU for several years.  She is fun, positive and passionate about sharing her knowledge. On this episode we will be discussing:the definition of marriage competence positive Affect within your marriage what to look out for when it comes to resolving conflict within your marriageBelow is a list of references she shares:Carroll, J. Paralympic gold medalist and world record holder McKenzie Coan joins us today to talk about an inherited medical condition and how her family navigated and helped her become the woman that she is now, not to play the victim mentality, and how to strive balance. She shared the lessons learned on leadership in her 11th year in the National Swimming Team, and so much more! One of my favorite takeaways she leaves us with from this conversation is the reminder that leadership is about what we can do for others and not for ourselves. She also shares advice on healthy balance for high-achievers and insight into how we can all aspire towards her unshakable mindset and positivity despite countless setbacks. Connect with her on Instagram and be sure to get yourself a copy of her book! Her story has so much more to it than meets the eye. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/brigitta-borinstein/support
