Joshua, Jude, and Brendan crack open a keg of victory after the Notre Dame Fighting Irish took out the Virginia Tech Hokies in Blacksburg - and we're going to talk about it. In this episode: Hello! Jon Gruden's Notre Dame resume took a hit. REVIEWS! Brian Kelly post game is a great place to start, and it was wild. To Jack Coan or not to Jack Coan. The disappearance of Drew Pyne and the rise of Tyler Buchner A.K.A. TB12. Mean tweets. Quickly going through the game with a few minor mistakes because notes are lost. Spotting teams 10 points. Buchner's brilliance, and Kelly's decision to roll with the freshman. Late 1st half defensive breakdown. The 3rd quarter of darkness. Jack Coan comes back and is kind of mobile Wisconsin jack Coan again. Notre Dame's comeback tale included a 2 point play - an ACC tale as old as 2015. C'Bo Flemister and the running back situation. Notre Dame's bowl projections. Joshua continues his campaign against Iowa (and the entire Big 10). Cincinnati's path. GIVE HER THE GOOD STUFF DOUG! Start prepping for USC - those terrible bastards. And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podcasts will be read on the next OFD Podcast. Joshua, Jude, and Brendan jumpstarted the pod machine and are very eager to discuss the first loss of the season by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish - a 24-13 poopfest at the hands of the Cincinnati Bearcats. In this episode: HELLO! Is there a conspiracy afoot? REVIEWS! One dude quarterback away. Joshua's only real point of the night... swap quarterbacks and Notre Dame wins. A general list of grievances from the game - there were many. Pyne over Coan? Well yeah... we are podding for nothing. 4th string left tackle... is that really an "embarrassment" or just a terrible reality? Our problem with Kevin Austin. The crowd situation and the Bearcat party during and AFTER the game. Finding ways to put the damn ball in playmakers hands. CAN WE GET AN EXTENSION OF THE RUNNING GAME? This sucked. I wish I could take full credit for this episode's title, but that honor goes to @ndlauren who graciously let me use her comedic genius during Saturday's fourth quarter fireworks. There is very little to complain about in this one. Coan could find a bit more accuracy and the offensive line held together by the thinnest strands of duct tape could block better. But even with those issues, Notre Dame has this crazy confidence about them that has somehow filtered to Shane and I as well. It sure doesn't hurt that special teams put on a clinic and Marcus Freeman reminded everyone why he was the hottest name for defensive coordinator. That all being said, we understand there are some corners of the internet that still want to be mad about things, particularly about Brian Kelly eclipsing Knute Rockne's win record. Don't worry, we have something for your sour ass too! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/herloyalsons/message

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are finally in the same universe to pod together - and yet still seem worlds apart on the status of the program after the 27-13 win by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish over the Purdue Boilermakers. In this episode: Hello! Does a rivalry trophy even exist if you can't drink from it? A Brian Kelly statue is floated. Opening thoughts about the game and overall impressions. Jack Coan VS Tyler Buchner. This is where we are right now, and unsurprisingly there are two very different opinions and one that is in the middle of the road. The surprise is who takes what side. Can the offensive line be moved around? Are the wide receivers actually good, or are they not what we had mildly hoped? Let's talk about that running game... what can be done to fix it? Chris Tyree and Kyren Williams are vital to the passing game, but can we just hand the ball off to them a few more times? Kyle Hamilton is a bad man, Y'all better be on the J.D. Bertrand train. Is Drew White less of a factor on the field this season, or does the split reps with Bo Bauer create an illusion? Jay Bramblett is good at his job. The gameday atmosphere.
