Hang on to your webs spider-boys and spider-girls, because in this episode, we're swinging out Across the Spiderverse. In this follow-up to the critically acclaimed and beloved Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales is grappling with how the consequences of being a hero affect him personally as well as those around him. Building on the frenetic animation style of the first film, Across the Spiderverse draws audiences in with a kaleidoscopic and vibrant visual approach that will delight and engage everyone, except for those with severe epilepsy who will likely be sent into a seizure during the opening titles alone. Taking inspiration from the Spider-Man comics (and we do mean every Spider-Man comic ever) along with every piece of Spider-Man media known to exist, Across the Spiderverse is at once a sprawling epic adventure with multiversal stakes and an incredibly focused personal story of growth, belonging, and morality perfectly woven together that will take at least ten rewatches to catch every little reference and easter egg. So slap on your spandex bodysuit, grab your mask, and join The Reel Film Chronicles as we explore the latest adventure from your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Folks.

Our first 2023 special is here and it's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Phil Lord and Chris Miller's second entry into their spider story. We start with some of our background on the first movie, Into the Spider-Verse, and talk about our anticipation for this movie. As the review begins, we get a bit bogged down in some ridiculous arguments but eventually find our stride and talk about the beautiful animation, the awesome story, and much more. This movie was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. GD4AM: 91/100 IMDb: 9/10 Metacritic: 86/100 RT: 96% Miles Morales catapults across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. When the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles must redefine what it means to be a hero. This movie is currently only in theaters. NEXT MOVIE REVIEW: Face/Off (1997), which is currently streaming on Showtime.
Dir.: Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson, Kemp Powers. Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Jake Johnson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya We're unsure whether or not our conversation about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a canon-event or not, but we can 100% tell you that we've had a bit too much to drink to ever be sure. We're back with the first TDBR bonus episode in a while, and we make sure to make it bonus-y as possible with off-topic tangents about "new age culture" and what-not. We praise the film for its inventive animation, tight writing, solid voiceover performances, and in-depth references and easter eggs.

Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers in Justin K. Thompson so z več kot tisoč sodelujočimi ustvarili film z dvestoštiridesetimi animiranimi liki in koherentnim dogajanjem v šestih različnih vesoljih.
Spider-Man is BACK! No not the squeaky-voiced Tony Stark-fanboy played by Tom Holland....nope this animated epic features the vaunted return of another Spider-Man from another universe. THIS one is Miles Morales voiced by Shameik Moore who was also the star of this film's Oscar-winning predecessor from five years ago, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. And he's back with his friends and family too, among them Gwen Stacey voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, Peter Parker voiced by Jake Johnson, and Miles' parents voiced by Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Velez. He also has LEGIONS of new Spider-friends from various different universes voiced by a stacked cast including Issa Rae, Oscar Isaac, and Daniel Kaluuya who plays the ULTIMATE as "Spider-Punk." Every one is involved at various levels with a daunting new mission to keep the various universes from collapsing in on each other and what results is an eye-popping ambitious superhero sequel which many critics are referring to as not only one of the greatest superhero movies ever made but possibly THE greatest animated film EVER. :o Directed by Joachim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, let's see if this one lives up to the hype!Host: Geoff Gershon Editors: Geoff and Ella GershonProducer: Marlene Gershonhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

Episode 184!? WE ARE BACK and this week we're switching things up and giving your thoughts on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse! Sony began developing a sequel to Into the Spider-Verse before its 2018 release, with the writing and directing team attached. It was set to focus on the relationship between Moore's Miles and Steinfeld's Gwen. The sequel was officially announced in November 2019 and animation work began in June 2020, with a different visual style for each of the six universes visited by the characters. With a runtime of 140 minutes, it makes it the longest animated film ever produced by an American studio. These sort of reviews usually go on our Patreon page so join up! The link is below! Sometimes it's a topic from the Fake Nerd Podcast, sometimes we need the room to discuss films on their own. Either way, they end up here in the Fake Nerd Cine-Files!An excerpt from Ep. 330 of the Fake Nerd Podcast, this is our review of Sony Animation's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham; directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson.Sparkz, Brandon, Ryan, and Ben are back into the Spider-Verse, baby! The biggest film of the year so far has hit and hit big. The boys are here to go over every incredible bit of this move (except, regrettably, the music - because they are bad podcasters and need to do better) and get into their initial thoughts and reactions. There's a lot of wonderful character pieces to discuss, some gorgeous animation, and many easter eggs. Any hangus are minor as they get into such a wonderful new chapter in the Spider-Verse saga. We've been bit by the love bug. Special guest Matt Serafini joins us to review Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to 2018's Oscar-winning Into the Spider-Verse. Despite being the longest animated film ever made in America, Across the Spider-Verse has been collecting cash across the box office-verse, with both critics and audiences agreeing that this is a sight of a comic book movie to behold. But what do the Cinemaholics think? We start the show with a brief rundown of the movie's backstory, then swing into a spoiler-free review. We do open up for spoilers later on in the show with plenty of warning, and be sure to stick around for this week's Rotten Tomatoes Game. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. Screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller (both also as co-producers), and David Callaham. The voice cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Daniel Kaluuya, Mahershala Ali, Oscar Isaac, and many more.
We're looking ahead to 2023 with this episode and corralling the movies we're most looking forward to that are just over the horizon. Some of them are still undated, but they're all at the very least in some degree of post-production at the very least (other than the notable addition of 'Roosevelt' which will make sense when you listen to the episode). Regardless, we covered a lot of ground and didn't even mention any of the upcoming franchise installments on the way for 'John Wick,' 'Creed,' 'Mission Impossible,' 'Fast & Furious,' 'Dune,' or the Marvel or DC Cinematic Universe that maybe go without saying they deserve a spot here. And if you're looking for even more audio content to binge on by way of your ear-buds, you should check out the latest Ethical Life podcast where Streamed & Screened co-host and producer Chris Lay joins Scott Rada and Rick Kyte to revisit predictions they made last December, including one about the then-upcoming Oscars that has aged particularly poorly: 'Nine bold predictions for 2022' (Dec. 21, 2021) 'How well did our predictions for 2022 hold up?' Chris and Rifa's chaotic and giggly weekly dive into the arts, culture, tech and diversity. This week we go to the cinema to see Spiderman – Into The Spiderverse ahead of The Story Conference (which Rifa organised and compered) where Justin K. Thompson, the film's production designer, gives a superb talk. We also binge-watch the second season of Netflix fantasy show The Dragon Prince, making this episode a bit of an accidental animated special. In What You Reading For? we try out some printed magazines we haven't seen before (purchased from Brighton's shop Magazine), including Australian feminist mag Womankind and the Flying Lotus takeover edition of Huck. None more hipster. Let's hear your views at: http://Facebook.com/RefigurePod and follow us on Insta @RefigureUK. Please like, subscribe, leave a nice review. You know the drill. Cheers! X
