Is Canada poised to be a winner or a loser as the world transitions toward cleaner sources of energy?Charles Brindamour, the CEO of Intact Financial Corporation – the country's largest provider of property and casualty insurance – is convinced that Canada has everything it needs to be a global leader in the drive to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. He points to the country's highly skilled and diverse workforce, its robust energy supplies and its abundant natural resources as areas in which Canada has huge advantages. “Whether it's around industrial and natural carbon capture, whether it's about building on our strengths in renewable energy, or playing a massive role in the electrification of transportation, these are great opportunities for the country,” Brindamour tells Goldy Hyder in the Speaking of Business podcast.Brindamour says he began to see the effects of climate change more than a decade ago. His company responded by creating the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation to help communities become more resilient to climate-related natural disasters. In February Brindamour was named Canada's Outstanding CEO of the Year, an award he says he shares with his entire team. “We very much think about Intact as a collective project to build a Canadian champion. And I'm hoping that this prize will help inspire others to do that – because we need more Canadian champions.”Listen to Goldy Hyder's conversation with Charles Brindamour on the Speaking of Business podcast.
The “digital front door” isn't just a buzzword—it is a critical tool for health systems looking to succeed in this new normal. Even before the pandemic, a strong digital presence was key to patient growth, but it is now a necessity given the rise in virtual visits. In this episode, we're talking to Scott Brindamour, Senior Director of Edge R&D and Platform Enablement at Lumen Technologies, about the digital front door and its significance to health system success in 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic changed a lot in the healthcare world, including how patients access care and connect with their health system. Instead of office visits, telehealth and other virtual care options are increasingly popular — and more of the patient experience is taking place on the web. More than a year after the onset of the pandemic, experts believe this digital transformation is here to stay. In this episode, we're talking to Scott Brindamour, Senior Director of Edge R&D and Platform Enablement at Lumen Technologies, about healthcare's digital transformation and what it means for health systems.

Carolina Hurricanes Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour joined the Mac Attack to discuss coaching through the pandemic and what he thinks about the plans for the NHL Playoffs.
“We will come out of this stronger.” Charles Brindamour, CEO of Intact Financial Corporation, reflects on the need to build confidence as the economy restarts, what he has learned from dealing with other crises, and how Intact is helping the most vulnerable with food support.
Join Glenn van Zutphen, as he speaks with Elaine Brindamour, Director of Operations at Soco Sales Training and Tom Abbott, Managing Director at Soco Sales Training to discuss balancing family with work.
Mike from the Cheaters Never Win Podcast, a Carolina Hurricanes show, talks with Jeff about the Canes' history with the St. Louis Blues. This includes the long chain from the Shanahan-Pronger trade, as well as both teams' surge at the end of the 2018-19 season.
Dale and Keefe are joined by Brian Boucher of NBC to discuss the Bruins Eastern Conference Finals matchup with the Hurricanes. Boucher says he believes that the Bruins will claim the sweep in Game 4 and explains that the Hurricanes coach Brindamour is being frustrated by the Bruins bottom 6.
We're joined in this episode by Dr. Bwett (@brett.brindamour on Instagram) to discuss the chilling realities of the Hollow Earth Theory along with some Tindergarten Cops! Please enjoy.
After Rod Brind'Amour gave the Caps some bulletin board material following TJ Oshie's injury, the Caps answered back in a big way, lighting up Petr Mrazek and the Hurricanes for six goals while also punishing them physically with 48 hits. The complete, 60-minute effort has the Caps one win away from advancing to the Second Round, while the Hurricanes will face elimination on Monday night.
The Caps outshoot the Hurricanes 31-24 in Game 4 but lose 2-1, and so the series is tied coming back to Washington for Game 5. Also, TJ Oshie is expected to be sidelined for "quite some time" after a scary crash into the boards following a cross-check from behind by Warren Foegele, and Hurricanes' coach Rod Brind'Amour may have just poked the sleeping bear when he blames TJ Oshie's injury on none other than Oshie himself, whom Brind'Amour says was "not ready for the hit". It's hard to be "ready" for a hit from behind, and the Caps really didn't like the hit and likely won't appreciate these comments much either so thanks for the bulletin board material, Rod.
The Caps stink up the joint in Game 3, and now lead their series against the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1. But more importantly: Rod Brind’Amour has lost his mind, is talking out of his ass, and needs to be set straight. We discuss his seemingly increasing lack of understanding of how this thing called the ‘Stanley Cup Playoffs’ normally works, as his postgame comments just keep increasing in stupidity as the heat in the series gets cranked higher and higher. Then, we take a look at what’s happening around the league, including two self-proclaimed “favourites” in the East being swept out of the First Round.
