Today's episode compares persistent dizziness with persistent pain. There are patterns and insights from the literature that can help clinicians improve their approach to treating people with dizziness. Erin Gallardo, PT, DPT, NCS interviews Marc Broberg, PT, DPT, NCS on his theories after diving into the literature and treating people with dizziness for 15 plus years. Marc explains how approximately 25% of people with dizziness develop persistent symptoms. He shares the one key factor in determining how well they will recover. He believes successful treatment isn't about eliminating symptoms, but empowering patients to reconnect with their lives and rebuild their sense of self. Clinicians and patients alike can learn that recovery is a collaborative journey, not just a medical intervention.

In episode #294, we welcome back a man who requires no introduction (but we'll give one anyway): Player Development Coach Daniel Broberg. He is the founder of DB Hockey Factory and is regarded as one of the top development coaches in the game, travelling the world extensively to work with players, teams, clubs of all levels, and is sought after by some of the the top players in hockey to tweak and refine their skills. We recently collaborated on the course with Broberg, 7 Steps From Basic Skills to Smooth Power, provides you with a blueprint for building a foundation in your players that will not only enhance their fundamental skills, but also empower them to read and react to whatever the game gives them and tap into the full spectrum of their creativity. Check it out here. And on top of that, he will be presenting on-ice at this June's TCS Live coaching conference for the first time ever. Save your spot to meet him in person! Listen as he shares the importance of posture in skill development, why players need to face adversity on their own, and why finding the state of "flow" is the key to building elite players.

The holiday season is behind us, which means it's time to get back to work with a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio. On this week's episode, we discussed Canada's failure at the World Juniors, new line combos at Oilers practice, and much more.Kicking off the Friday episode of ONR, the guys started with a delicious debate about Canada at the World Juniors and how they failed to make it past the quarter-finals for the second straight year. Was it a problem with roster construction? Was it the team's lack of discipline at key moments? Was there bad luck mixed in because no one on the team could score? Was the coaching staff to blame for the lack of accountability? Needless to say, there is plenty of blame to go around after another disappointing season.Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, we discussed the New Year's Eve win over Utah and how refreshing it was to see the Oilers rebound after a pair of tough losses in California. Not only was it an important game to avoid a three-game losing streak, but it was also crucial for the Oilers to put down a statement effort against a team they should probably beat more often than not. That led us to discuss the new line combinations from practice yesterday and whether we think Kris Knoblauch will stick with these new trios for any length of time.We then talked about the recent report that the Oilers will be looking to extend Ty Emberson before the season ends after losing a two young players last summer to offer sheets. Clearly the Oilers want to learn from their mistakes in how Holloway and Broberg were handled means losing young guys can't happen again. Given how Emberson has progressed through the first 35 games of the season, locking him up now makes a world of sense. Finally, the boys wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot that featured some Oilers New Year's questions. As always, the fellas gave their best advice whether they were qualified or not. Last but not least, everyone gave their best and worst moments from the last week in another round of Hot and Cold Performers.
