This week we're breaking down Take Your Daughter To Work Day, so let's keep it G-rated, okay? The ladies give some background info about all the child actors on set that day and chat about Stanley's daughter flirting with Ryan, and Pam's struggle to befriend just one kid. Then the ladies give history lessons on Shaggy Peter and the Green Sleeves song that ends in a fun revelation, and we get an update on Game of Thrones. Finally, we discuss Brunetti's Pizza, and hit up Kentapedia (Kent Zbornak) for the low-down on that Fundle Bundle video. Now the kids have left, you can now safely go back to being your HBO No Limits-selves. In today's Undivided Birmingham podcast, Dr. Chris Crain interviews Dr. Willie Brunetti, founder of The Comfort For Caregivers Seminar which is dedicated to educating and empowering caregivers whose work is vital for the welfare of sick and disabled people. Dr. Brunetti became the caregiver to his father, mother, and mother-in-law all at the same time and all living in the same house with his wife and children. He saw the trauma that the circumstance bought to his family. Later he became the caregiver for his wife who came down with a devastating disease that lasted 15 years until she passed away in 2019. From his experiences in caregiving, a ministry was born. The seminar provides pertinent information that will enrich and support the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of caregivers. The seminar also encourages churches to create care ministries to the caregiver to aid the caregiver in managing the turmoil and stress of their lives. Dr. Brunetti has travelled thousands of miles and spoken in hundreds of churches leading the Comfort for Caregivers seminar as a way to give spiritual support to those who have become caregivers or who will become caregivers. He is available to speak in your church.
In this VETgirl veterinary continuing education podcast, we interview Dr. Marisa Brunetti, VMD, Chief Veterinary Officer and Dr. Christina Moore, DVM, MBA, Senior Director of Clinical Excellence at IndeVets. We're talking about importance of and need for a good system of support for veterinarians. Remember vet school when you were constantly surrounded by support, medical expertise, compassion, and a community of people who shared your passion? We'd probably get more than a few raised hands if we asked a room full of vets if, by contrast, their days now had a lot more isolation and frustration, and a lot less support and collaboration. That's why, seven years ago, Dr. Brunetti helped create IndeVets on three firm conditions that created a radical change from what's become the accepted standard in the vet industry. Join us as we hear from Drs. Brunetti and Moore about the radical support they provide for their vets so they can do what they love with the support they deserve.Sponsored By: IndeVets

Question: How important do you think it is to have a personal brand? As in, how you show up online, in person at work or at industry conferences… What do you want to be known for? In my opinion, it's the secret to building and advancing your career, opening doors of opportunity, and getting one step closer to doing the work you actually love. My special guest today is Tamika Brunetti and she's simplifying how to uncover your #DigitalSwagger. That's what she calls it and I love that spin… How you show up online (in a professional sense) that sets the tone for how people engage with you. So let's talk about how to find your own swagger as you walk in the (proverbial) door the next time you're on LinkedIn! Here's how. My special guest today is Tamika Brunetti and she's simplifying how to uncover your #DigitalSwagger. We tackle and simplify all aspects of it, including: How she defines #DigitalSwagger and her thoughts on why it's so important for your career to have a personal brand. “But I'm an introvert and I really hate putting myself out there.” Tamika shares advice to those who tend to keep their private lives private. Where to begin to uncover your #DigitalSwagger. Define your why - what is the purpose, intent, and measurable goal? How to update your digital profile on LinkedIn in 30 minutes or less. She talks about the key elements to focus on first. …and ultimately, why she believes that “engagement is one of the greatest rewards from all of this effort.” How to make the effort you put in, worth it. Q: Are you ready to learn how to uncover your #DigitalSwagger and build yourself a personal brand? If yes, this one is for you. It's time to #DoTheThing! ---- Show notes available with all links mentioned here:https://www.thesimplifiers.com/posts/354-how-to-uncover-your-digitalswagger---with-tamika-brunetti

Melissa Brunetti, GenX Certified SMGI® Practitioner, Trauma Healing & Mind-Body Coach with Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery® & Mind Your Own Karma The Adoption Chronicles Podcaster, joins us to talk about her journey to educate people about adoption trauma, the Primal Wound and Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery. Her goal is to inspire people and remind us that we are only one decision away from a totally different life! She asks all of us to reflect on the question: is it ever too late to reinvent yourself? She is an example to all of us that it's never too late: In 2021, at the age of 53, Melissa Brunetti decided to create a podcast, "Mind Your Own Karma," from the ground up. Remarkably, she had never even listened to a podcast before. This single decision ignited a journey of self-discovery, self-confidence, and ultimately a brand-new career. After working as a sonographer for over 30 years, Melissa is now one of the few certified Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery practitioners in the world. She is thrilled to be at the forefront of this unique and effective SMGI technique and is eagerly embracing the challenges of introducing this new modality to those seeking a more holistic approach to their mental and physical well-being. Topics covered in the Episode: What are the origins of Melissa's podcast to being a Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery Practitioner? What are some adoption discoveries? What is the Mother Wound? What is SMGI and why is it so helpful for those of us with trauma, anxiety, stress, addictions? 3 takeaways: 1. The common sense that adoptions are like a “Disneyland happy ever after” experience needs to be challenged and the resulting trauma uncovered/accepted. 2. The Mother Wound or Primal Wound occurs when babies are missing the mother/child bond or connection, which can affect many aspects of life going forward both mentally and physically. “Coming out of the Fog” is a term used in the adoptee community defining the moment when an adoptee realizes the role adoption trauma has played in how they move and respond in their everyday life. 3. Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery helps people who are seeking relief from physical or psychological symptoms, stress, anxiety or trauma, find a sense of wellbeing by accessing their subconscious mind, supporting them in discovering their natural ability to achieve healing and wholeness. Special Offer: Melissa will give our listeners 10% off of a 3 or 6 pack of SMGI with Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery sessions with promo code GTTL10. In recent years, the Supreme Court has decided two cases in which it held that certain restrictions against registering certain kinds of marks violate the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment. In Matal v. Tam (2017), it invalidated the Lanham Act proscription against registering marks containing terms disparaging toward a person or institution. In Icanu v. Brunetti (2019), it invalidated the Lanham Act proscription against registering marks containing scandalous or immoral terms. The Supreme Court has now decided Vidal v. Elster, in which it adopted this question presented: “Whether the refusal to register a mark under Section 1052(c) [Lanham Act section 2(c)] violates the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment when the mark contains criticism of a government official or public figure.” At issue was an application to register the mark TRUMP TOO SMALL on various clothing items. Lanham Act section 2(c) prohibits registration of a mark that “[c]onsists of or comprises a name, portrait, or signature identifying a particular living individual except by his written consent, or the name, signature, or portrait of a deceased President of the United States during the life of his widow, if any, except by the written consent of the widow.” The Federal Circuit held that this proscription violates the Free Speech Clause as applied in this mark-registration application. This Courthouse Steps presentation will discuss the background leading to Vidal v. Elster, review the Court's decision, and discuss its implications for trademark law and free speech. Was ist neu daran? Der Regulierungsexperte und Professor für Wirtschaftspolitik an der Universität Bern hat bei den ersten Too-big-to-fail-Regeln mitgearbeitet. Jerry Brunetti and Joel Simmons founded EarthWorks in 1988 and together they built a leading soil and plant fertility company. Jerry, who we lost to cancer in 2014, was one of the leading voices in sustainable agriculture and was a prolific speaker and writer. In this podcast we share a talk Jerry gave at an Acres USA seminar in the late 90's. It is introduced by Fred Walters, EarthWorks Podcast veteran and former owner of ACRES USA. Jerry talks about the importance of fractal geometry, the physical and biological process in the soil that allows for the soil to open enough to allow air and water to work through the profile. He also shares his thoughts on mycorrhiza and the glomalin, the material excreted by the mycorrhiza fungi, that helps keep moisture held around the root system. Jerry was ahead of his time and a very dynamic and passionate speaker. This is evident as you hear him speak about: the importance of re-mineralizing soils, biological soil management, the soil's ability to sequester carbon, and the incredible life under our feet.Visit EarthWorks at: https://www.earthworksturf.com Podcasts: https://www.earthworksturf.com/earthworks-podcasts/ 2 Minute Turf Talks: https://www.earthworksturf.com/2-minute-turf-talks/

Summary: Ciao, bella! Welcome to the first stop on our Summer Jetset Series - Italy! Today Devin and Holly visit Venice and Positano together to understand the close relationship between love and death in Italy. Since the time of Shakespeare, the country has been a place of passion in literature (second only, perhaps, to France). They agree that regardless of your prior experience visiting the country, novels set in the country are always vivid, intriguing, and colorful. Topics Discussed: The Dagger (4:19): Holly discussed Death at La Fenice by Donna Leon, a crime fiction novel set in Venice featuring the fictional hero Commissario Guido Brunetti. The book opens at the end of intermission at Teatro La Fenice; the conductor, Maestro Wallauer, has been poisoned and is dead on the floor of his dressing room. Holly's key takeaways were: The mystery of who killed the Maestro is a slow burn through the book. Brunetti's tactics are conversation focused, and the novel is the opposite of a templated popcorn thriller. That being said, it came together very effectively by the end. Leon has lived in Venice for years and brought her experiences to the page; we get great behind-the-scenes looks at the Venetian opera house, excursions by canal around the city, and a colorful cast of Italian characters (most of whom are constantly smoking and drinking coffee) This series is the Italian cousin to the Bruno Chief of Police series set in southern France; if you're a fan of Louise Penny you'll also likely enjoy these books! The Heart (17:35): Devin discussed One Italian Summer by Rebecca Searle, a novel set in Positano that follows Katy Silver on a vacation that was intended as a mother-daughter trip. When Katy's mother dies before they can make it to the Amalfi Coast, Katy's entire sense of reality and herself is turned upside down. She is unsure if she wants to stay in her marriage, and uses the vacation to get some space. Devin's key takeaways were: This is essentially a time travel story; once Katy arrives, she meets her own mother (Carol) at 30 years old in the summer she had spent in Positano before meeting her husband and settling down. The time travel element isn't fully explained and the reader is left unsure of how Katy travels back and forth across decades (best not to think too hard on this and just enjoy the story). Searle explores this mother-daughter relationship in-depth through the novel. Katy has a romantic fling as well, but ultimately the book posits that Carol is her soulmate. Katy must learn how to reframe herself as an individual, instead of as a bonded pair with her mother. Regardless of the plot holes, this novel had such vivid descriptions of Positano, the hotels, the hills, the restaurants, even Katy's outfits, that the reader is fully drawn into the Italian adventure. The sense of place could not be stronger. The internationally bestselling crime writer Donna Leon talks to John Wilson about her career. Although American born, Donna is most associated with Venice, the city in which her Italian police detective protagonist, the mild-mannered family man Guido Brunetti, lives and works. She has so far written 32 novels, has sold nearly eight million copies in English, and been translated into 35 languages. Donna Leon tells John Wilson about her love for Italy and particularly Venice, which until very recently was her home. She recalls her experiences teaching English in Saudi Arabia, and how she began her bestselling Brunetti series after a night at the opera. Producer: Edwina Pitman
