Locked On Celtics - Daily Podcast On The Boston Celtics With Rainin' J's
The Boston Celtics were aggressive, scoring almost half their points in the paint to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jaylen Brown had 36, 23 in the fourth quarter to carry the Celtics, but it was Derrick White setting the tone and being the best player to start the game. Jayson Tatum carried the third, and as John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal says, the lesson out of this game should be that attacking should be the first priority, and it can even save them from a bad shooting night. When it comes to family businesses, continuity is the key. And no one knows this better than the business owner who is looking to transition out of their business. Whether it's due to retirement, health concerns, or simply a desire to move on to something new, exiting a business can be complex and emotionally draining. Fortunately, there are a few things that business owners can do to help ensure a smooth transition. These are steps that business owners can take so that their family business can continue to thrive long after they've left it. Join Matt DiFrancesco and Nicholas Niemann, a family business continuity attorney and Partner at McGrath North Mullin & Kratz, as they talk about how to design and deploy critical actions that business owners need to grow, protect, and transition their family businesses - and end up with a strong “fourth quarter” in business and in life. They also talked about: (02:17) How Nick got into business continuity planning (03:33) What the “pioneer mindset” is all about (06:19) What fourth quarter planning means (11:49) How to address business owners who are not sure if they want to leave the business (14:08) The three key questions every business owner must be able to answer (15:09) How does the Business Model Canvas work? (15:50) Why business owners need to understand how their business model works (17:01) How does Nick help business owners identify what their primary business is? (19:55) The importance of understanding your WHY (21:47) The value of having a continuity plan in place (25:14) Why business owners need to start planning early Connect with Nicholas Niemann Websites: https://www.mcgrathnorth.com/ https://www.mcgrathnorth.com/attorneys/nicholas-k-niemann https://www.myfourthquartergameplan.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nick-niemannba635810/ Phone: +1 (402) 633-1489 Connect With Matt DiFrancesco: matt@highliftfin.com (814)201-5855 LinkedIn: Matt DiFrancesco LinkedIn: High Lift Financial Facebook: High Lift Financial About Our Guest: Nicholas Niemann grew up in a small midwest town in Quincy, Illinois where his family ran a number of family businesses. Hour 3 - The Patriots' offense and Mac Jones have been fairly lackluster in the fourth quarter. With a big game only a few hours away, does Mac Jones need to be better or is his offense not supporting him enough? Also, which prop bets are the best to take for tonight's game for both the Pats and the Bills.
The Athletic's James Boyd and Zak Keefer dig into the Colts' fifth loss in six games, a 24-17 decision to the Steelers in which the offense was lifeless in the first half and the Colts exercised some questionable — that's putting it lightly — clock management in another one-score defeat -Follow Zak on Twitter @zkeefer -Follow James on Twitter @RomeovilleKid Learn more about your ad choices. In the midst of business aviation's traditional fourth quarter aircraft transaction frenzy, we review where things stand with Jay Mesinger, CEO of Mesinger Jet Sales. Topics covered include: Demand – are we seeing changes relative to the types of buyers? Supply – is inventory likely to continue increasing? Pricing – rationalizing ongoing Ask Price increases with increased pre-owned listings. Rising maintenance costs and 2023 Hourly Cost Maintenance Program rate increases. Charter activity – has the charter user evolved and are charter rates holding steady? Fuel pricing going into 2023 – might rising fuel prices positively affect the use of SAF? Aircraft pre-purchase inspections, facility access, and supply chain issues. Key takeaways from this year's NBAA and CJI Miami.
Through three quarters, the Lakers were on track for their best, most impressive win of the season. The kind of game that would validate winning five of six against lesser competition. Instead, they let Indiana back in, losing a 17-point lead over the final 10 minutes, losing to the Pacers on a last-second 3-pointer from rookie Andrew Nembhard. Nothing went well for the Lakers down the stretch. The defense broke down, as Indiana came up with multiple offensive rebounds (including the most critical one, on the game's final sequence). LeBron James was 2-8 from the floor. The Lakers couldn't figure out a way to shake Anthony Davis loose from an aggressive Pacers defense. And LA's defense fell apart on that last play, with multiple miscues including one from James. Really, though, it never should have reached that point. The Lakers have little experience closing teams out (and with only one win against a team over .500, no real experience closing out good teams) and it showed. But beyond the disappointment, this is a killer loss for a team trying desperately to climb out of an early season hole and about to head out on the road basically for the month of December. 8-11 looks a lot better than 7-12. Oh, and LeBron tweaked his ankle in the first half. He played, but it remains to be seen what happens once his body cools down. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers blew a massive fourth quarter lead and suffered an inexcusable loss. SEGMENT 2: The game's final play was a microcosm of the game's final quarter for the Lakers. SEGMENT 3: LeBron is banged up, again. Did the Lakers properly plan for this? It was fun while it lasted. The Lakers have fallen back into (even earlier) early season habits around bad shooting and stagnant offense. Both were on display Sunday as the Lakers lost to Cleveland at the Crypt, falling to 2-7 on the year with a Monday game against the surprisingly excellent Utah Jazz (who spanked the Lakers in LA on Friday). Anthony Davis was strong early, but invisible down the stretch, scoring no points in the fourth quarter for the third straight game. He only took two shots in the second half, and while in previous games some of the late game invisibility can be attributed to his recurring back problem, that didn't seem to be an issue Sunday. So what gives? Is it an AD problem? Something related to the rest of the offense? A problem with a deteriorating defense? Yes, yes, and yes. This was not a Dear Diary night for the supporting cast, either. Russell Westbrook was fantastic (particularly early), scoring 12 first quarter points and finishing with 19. He also singlehandedly outscored the rest of the bench, which isn't good. Lonnie Walker IV had an off night, and Kendrick Nunn, starting for an ill Pat Beverley, scored no points. None. Zero. After, Darvin Ham said those guys need to be better. And he's right! But is that, in broad terms, a fair expectation? Have the Lakers built the type of roster where supporting players should be expected to contribute at the level the Lakers will need in order to make any noise this season? (Any good noise, at least?) Much to unpack as the Danger! lights are flashing bright. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers lose and the offense falters again. SEGMENT 2: Why isn't AD performing late in games? SEGMENT 3: Darvin lays down a marker for the supporting cast. Is it fair, though? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
