It's OFFICIAL! The Knicks have been bitten by the injury bug and it's causing significant roster concerns. NY is now missing Jalen Brunson, Miles McBride, and now Cam Payne. The Knicks have limited guard depth at the moment with just Tyler Kolek and Delon Wright. For a team looking to make a strong push toward the postseason, injuries could affect where NY lands. The Knicks have made a major decision on Delon Wright's future with this team. Initially, everyone thought after the Sims trade he would be bought out. But that doesn't seem to be the case, the Knicks are looking to retain Delon Wright instead. The New York Knicks made only one trade during the NBA trade deadline and it was for Delon Wright, a 6 '4 wing that plays good defense. However, one could argue that NY didn't need Wright and should have focused more on the front court. But reports indicate that NY made the move more for Sims than because they wanted to add Delon. Since this is the case, we now have multiple NBA Insiders confirming that the Knicks are looking at the buyout market and likely do not see Wright being part of this team long term... The New York Knicks traded Jericho Sim to the Milwaukee Bucks for Delon Wright, Cash, & the draft rights to another player. Initially, this didn't seem like a great trade for NY and you can still make the argument they should have pushed for 2nd round picks. But after reviewing this trade, the more you look at it, the more it seems like NY FLEECED the Bucks. Especially when you consider the player we now have draft rights to, lethal mid-range shooter, Hugo Besson... Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down! The Milwaukee Bucks weren't done with their 2025 NBA Trade Deadline moves with the Khris Middleton for Kyle Kuzma move detailed on the last podcast, as they expanded that trade to send Delon Wright and cash to the New York Knicks for Jericho Sims, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and cash to the San Antonio Spurs for cap space, and finally MarJon Beauchamp was sent to the LA Clippers in an unrelated deal for Kevin Porter Jr. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti share their updated thoughts on the deadline as a whole, including being disappointed the Bucks didn't make a move to consolidate their now huge frontcourt and lean more into the athletic vision of the roster post-Middleton, their happiness with the Sims add, and their disgust at adding terrible person KPJ to Milwaukee's roster. The Knicks have finally made their first trade of the NBA trade deadline! NY has traded center Jericho Sims to the Milwakuee Bucks for Delon Wright, Cash Consideration & Draft Rights to a young player. However, NY not receiving any picks in this deal really weighs the move more in favor of the Bucks. But this move may have had another reason it was made. The Milwaukee Bucks have played three of their four preseason games, and it turns out Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are pretty damn good. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti open the latest Gyro Step with discussions about the Bucks two best players after they both looked good against the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. Additional topics include the Bucks defensive approach and the issues on defense so far, including leaving shooters open and a lack of defensive rebounding, Ti's early victory lap on Pat Connaughton being in the rotation and looking good thus far, excitement over Gary Trent Jr., whether AJ Johnson is actually going to play in the regular season and his role vs Delon Wright's, and a bunch of discussion about the other Young Bucks. Specifically, whether they are concerned about AJ Green or not, how MarJon Beauchamp has honestly outplayed Andre Jackson Jr. and Chris Livingston this preseason, and the fun Tyler Smith minutes. Plus the two-way spot battle between Anžejs Pasečņiks (Big AP) and Liam Robbins. Milwaukee Bucks assistant general manager Milt Newton joined Marques Johnson & Kris Johnson to discuss his incredible journey with basketball and an inside perspective on Milwaukee's offseason transactions over the past two seasons. Their conversation begins with a look at Newton's basketball life, starting with the influential D.C. basketball scene and his early days as a player before transitioning to his college years with the 1988 NCAA Champion Kansas Jayhawks. He shares stories from ‘Danny & The Miracles,' learning from iconic coaches like Larry Brown, John Calipari and Roy Woods, playing with Danny Manning and more from that era of his life. That leads to a chat about how he transitioned to NBA front office roles and why his time under iconic coaches influences how he looks at roster construction. Milt breaks down the Bucks' mindset and approach to their three key offseason additions of Delon Wright, Taurean Prince and Gary Trent Jr. He provides a deeper look at the Damian Lillard trade nearly one year later and how the team has evolved around its core for the upcoming season. The conversation is capped off as we learn more about Newton's artistic side and how he made a larger impact on Kris' career than he even knew. Another week, another Naismith Hall of Fame journalist on Hear District. This week, Marques and Kris are joined by David Aldridge, senior NBA columnist at The Athletic. Aldridge was honored with the Curt Gowdy Media Award in 2016 by the Naismith Hall of Fame. He discusses what it was like growing up in Washington, DC, and the rich history of basketball greats from the region. He then reacts to Charles Barkley's recent remarks about Milwaukee Bucks superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo. After covering Delon Wright during his time as a Washington Wizard, Aldridge reveals what makes him such an impactful addition to the team. He also provides commentary on a number of young players with Wisconsin roots who play for the Wizards and what he expects out of them this upcoming season. At the end of the show, he shares how his book, The Basketball 100, came together, and the process of identifying the hundred greatest players in NBA history. Will Marques make the list? Listen to the episode to find out! For more, follow @bucksplusaudio - the official podcast network of the Milwaukee Bucks - on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook, and check out all Bucks+ podcast content at www.bucks.com/plus.
The Milwaukee Bucks had a great summer, adding Gary Trent Jr., Taurean Prince, and Delon Wright to their existing core of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, etc. But despite the good work by Jon Horst, where do the Bucks stack up compared to the rest of the Eastern Conference? Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti went from the top to the bottom and shared their perspective on who the best and worst teams in the East are, and how Milwaukee fits into the picture. In order, the guys covered Giannis, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Gary Trent Jr., Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, Taurean Prince, Delon Wright, Pat Connaughton, A.J. Green, Chris Livingston, Andre Jackson Jr., MarJon Beauchamp, AJ Johnson, and Tyler Smith, with a quick overall comment on the state of the two-ways. The Milwaukee Bucks have five players who appear to be realistic candidates to start next to Damian Lillard next season, and Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti ranked them on the latest episode of the Gyro Step. MarJon Beauchamp, A.J. Green, Delon Wright, Andre Jackson Jr. and Taurean Prince all could make sense as Milwaukee's latest fifth starter, and Ti and Rohan went through the case for and against each and in the case of the young players tried to explain what it would take for them to win the job. They then discussed the remaining free agents who could make sense for the Bucks' 15th roster spot, including Markelle Fultz, Gary Trent Jr. and Lonnie Walker, before discussing how cool it is that Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to play in the Olympics for the first time and breaking down his road to helping Greece medal in basketball for the first time EVER. The Milwaukee Bucks signed another productive NBA veteran on Wednesday when they added Taurean Prince on a minimum deal, bringing the reported roster up to 14 players with Delon Wright and the two rookies factored in. Ti Windisch, Adam McGee, and Rohan Katti discussed Prince's value and what he can provide to the Bucks, the real story of what he provides, the role new lead assistant coach Darvin Ham likely played in Prince's decision, and whether or he one of the many other players in the running (Delon Wright, Andre Jackson Jr., A.J. Green, MarJon Beauchamp, Pat Connaughton??) will start. They also cover Irish national basketball for some reason. Plus Giannis Antetokounmpo's journey with the Greek national team to qualify for the Olympics, and whether the Bucks are done and if the roster has any more changes coming, including trades. That conversation covered which out of Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, and Pat Connaughton are most likely to be dealt. The Milwaukee Bucks made their first 2024 NBA free agent signing on Monday when they agreed to terms on a veteran minimum contract with Delon Wright, the defensively-gifted combo guard who most recently played for the Miami Heat. Ti Windisch, Rohan Katti, and Jordan Treske shared their full analysis of the signing, Wright as a player, and whether he fits best as a starter or coming off the bench. The Bucks also agreed to terms on a two-way deal with former Pistons forward Stanley Umude, a promising defensive prospect who has shown some flashes of being a good shooter too. After discussing Umude, the group moved on to cover available free agents still on the board who would fit well in Milwaukee, and then eventually spit-balled some potential trades given the Brook Lopez rumors persist. The Milwaukee Bucks went young with their two draft picks, then stayed quiet in the first 48 hours of free agency. What does that say about where the Bucks are headed for 2024-25. Bucks reporter Jim Owczarski and host JR Radcliffe discuss the draft selections of A.J. Johnson and Tyler Smith, plus the free-agent signing of Delon Wright. What's left on the table for the Bucks to accomplish? Does a trade remain a realistic option? Who are some players still available for veteran minimum contracts that fit Milwaukee? In hour one, Hoch rips Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns after getting swept in the first round. Is KD the equivalent of Mario Chalmers!?!? Heat - Celtics GM4 tonight but Hoch feels like the Heat have already hit their ceiling this series. The Marlins STINK! Crowder doesn't think Delon Wright should have missed a playoff game for the birth of a child. Plus, we recap the Miami Dolphins draft.
Delon Wright returns for Game 4 tonight in the post season after missing Game 3 Saturday night for the birth of his daughter. Crowder argues he wouldn't have miss a Dolphins game for the birth of his child.
The Heat hit seven three pointers in the fourth quarter to cut what was a 34 point deficit to 13, but it was way too little, way too late against the Boston Celtics, the East's #1 seed and the +125 odds on favorite to win the NBA Championship. The C's raced out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back, with reserve guard Sam Hauser hitting 4 three pointers- including 3 in a row- in the first quarter.Jayson Tatum had 23 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds to lead six players in double-figures for the Celtics. Kristaps Porzingis added 18 on 50% shooting, including four of the Celts' season-high 22 threes.Bam Adebayo scored 24 points for Miami. Delon Wright added 17 on 5-5 shooting from downtown.Tyler Herro, a huge key for Miami in this series, scored just 11 points on 4-12 shooting, 3-8 from beyond the arc. The Celtics, facing the Heat for the 7th time in the playoffs since 2010, are the +120 favorite to win the NBA Title and hang banner number 18 in the rafters in a few weeks. The Heat beat the Celtics last year in the Eastern Conference Finals, but that was with Jimmy Butler, and the Celtics didn't have Porzingis or Jrue Holiday.. Game two is Wednesday night in Boston.

John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal gets into the shots he DIDN'T take that were most impressive.
