Today, we drink Pineapple Love Juice by Labyrinth Brewing Co. This comes at no surprise since this is our fourth beer featured on the show by Labyrinth in season 2. On Episode 18 of the Bois & Bar Talk podcast, we return after a week off out of respect for the movement going on around the world. Pineapple Love Juice is a New England style IPA with a 6.5% ABV. It has a golden color and our favorite part was that the pineapple was not an overpowering flavor. The hint of pineapple was delightful even through the aftertaste. We addressed the protesting going on around and showed our support for all that is going on in the beginning. We prefer to stay true to our roots and not get overly political, but is an important problem that needed awareness and we are glad to see changes being made. That address transitioned into talking about David Goggins and his book Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds. Goggins overcame an abusive childhood and had to deal with racism growing up. He learned how to use that to fuel his motivation and make his mind unbreakable, taking on Navy SEAL training three times and running ultra (100+ mile) races. After, we talked about how fast a snack gets eaten as an adult rather than as a child. That somehow led us to talk about snacks in movie theatres and whatever else we crammed in another 30 minute episode. If you like this one check out Episode 17 here. Cheers!

Who is living your dream? Do you know?  Or put another way, who do you want to grow up to be? Whether their occupation, their success, their ministry, their impact on the world - who is your role model for success?  John, a CIO at a multi-billion $ company told me “No one ever asks me how to be me. No one seems to want to be CIO.” His statement was odd because the same statement is written in the book Rich Dad Poor Dad - no one ever asks him how to be rich.   But the key to finding success is to answer three questions - and one of them is to find out who is living your dream.  Who is Living Your Dream (podcast outline) The Hard Truth: Many people do not have a role model. They are drifting. We need to find people who have walked the path we want to walk.  Who is Living your dream - how to find out. The three questions you need to answer: What do you love to do? How To Install Google Analytics Step-by-Step I can hear a few of you freaking out going; this is looking complicated already, though it needs to be done.   It's not complicated. I am going to walk you through it, and it is essential. It is known as Google Analytics tracking and you simply must install it into your web site.   It's a little piece of code; your web developer, your web guru, or your I.T. guy will know exactly what to do. Get your web designer to install tracking on your site, just a must-do, no questions asked.   Once Google Analytics tracking is installed, it will tell you everything you need to know about your site's effectiveness, and without this knowledge, you're simply on the road to nowhere.   Among other things it’s going to tell you who your visitors are, where they arrived from, what pages are being visited the most frequently, the length of time visitors stay on each page, and how quickly they leave your page.   How can you measure a website success without knowing the behaviour of your visitors?   Resources mentioned in this episode:   Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds   David Goggins   For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights.   But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes.   The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events, inspiring Outside magazine to name him The Fittest (Real) Man in America.   In Can't Hurt Me, he shares his astonishing life story and reveals that most of us tap into only 40% of our capabilities. Goggins calls this The 40% Rule, and his story illuminates a path that anyone can follow to push past pain, demolish fear, and reach their full potential.    REVIEW:   This book is different than the generic self help books that we have all read. David didn't just regurgitate what everyone else said about self improvement.   He invented his own methods through trial and error. He is also not afraid to tap into something that our society has just about eliminated, negative reinforcement.   My self-improvement journey was always hindered by too much positive reinforcement throughout my life.   There is a place for this, but sometimes you just have to look in the mirror and call yourself out with brutal honesty, David literally does this daily.    How To Install Google Analytics (Step by Step)  Listen to the full episode now:

Has your life become boring, regular, predictable?  Does your 9 to 5 pay the bills, but leave little time for you?  While having predictability in my life makes me feel safe, I have had to admit that "comfortable" is becoming uncomfortable.  There's a longing in my heart for more! Rachel Gilmore had a longing in her heart.  She wanted to travel the world.  But, like many, she didn't have the money. Yet, so deep was that longing, she created a vision board with Bali and Thailand on it. Imagine the shock and awe she felt when she won $10,000 in travel money!  That was four years ago!  Since that time, Rachel has traveled to Bali multiple times, Thailand and other places she use to dream of.  And get this, she now takes others with her on Earth and Soul Adventures.    With her message to take a leap into the uncomfortable, Rachel has discovered what living is all about.  In our episode, she shares:   The power of manifesting and what she did that manifested her soul's desire to travel How in her experiences of raw, pure fear she discovered just how powerful she was and that she could conquer any fear in her life The awakening of her own deep, abiding beauty while standing in awe of the beauty that surrounded her in the places she traveled What you can accomplish when you get comfortable in being uncomfortable ...and much more Rachel's is a story of no longer letting her fears stop her from living the life of her dreams. Listening to her story will lift you from the mundane, the ordinary, the safe, the comfortable to the exciting life just waiting for you to leap into it. More About Rachel Rachel Gilmore is an international speaker, author and coach.  As founder of Earth and Soul Adventures, Rachel leads transformational travel adventures around the world, teaching people how to become the greatest versions of themselves in order to do their greatest work and make an impact in the world. Things that made me go hmmm From Rachel: "Being uncommon is having enough courage to face your fears." "We meet people everyday who are miserable because they are afraid of the unknown. They are afraid of taking the jump and taking the risk and going after what they want." "Chasing sunsets is the ultimate freedom." "Try different things, get uncomfortable and figure out what lights you up." I mean, for me, it's become comfortable for me to get uncomfortable. I asked a lot of people, 'What brings you the most joy?' And they don't know how to answer that question. So I'm going to invite everybody to discover what brings you the most joy. And if you don't, if you don't know, go try something you've never tried before. Welcome back to another episode of Your Anxiety Toolkit Podcast.  This week we are joined by the amazing Dan Furlong.  Dan Furlong is the man behind @maleanxietydepression on Instagram and is an inspiration to many in the mental health field.   In this episode, Dan Furlong talks about his recent experience with running the Jungle Ultra in Peru through the Amazing Jungle.  Dan Furlong called it a “self-sufficient race” where he had to run for 5 days through the Amazon Jungle, 3 of which had torrential rain.   Dan Furlong talked about his struggle with anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and depression.  Dan also talked about his struggles with suicidal ideation.  Dan said many inspiring things throughout this episode, but here are a few inspirational quotes that really got me thinking.  When discussing his experiences with depression, Dan quoted, “You need to goal set your way out of depression. He talked about how he never lets himself give up and “only when you go through real pain do you find out who you are!”  As Dan ran through the Amazon Jungle and faced many death-defying cliffs and traverses, he repeated to himself, “If you get through this, you can get through anything” and he referred to his OCD recovery in this discussion also.   Dan reported only getting 2-3 hours sleep each night and how he chose to run ahead to be allowed to take the “long course” which was running up to 1.5 marathons per day.  Just so inspiring, right?!  Dan Furlong spoke extensively about his mindset during the run (and his OCD recovery) and how he has learned to “take the path of least resistance”.  Dan stated that “your brain will always talk you out of doing hard things” and because of this, he learned to “take the harder route”. Episode 24: I recently finished Cant Hurt Me by David Goggins, and I have to say, it is a book that I will never forget. After experiencing more pain in his life than almost anybody, David Goggins was still able to live the meaningful life that he envisioned for himself. Times were rarely ever easy for Goggins. In fact, he would constantly put himself through as much pain as he could to callous his mind. Aside from this, he realized that when he felt like he couldn't go any further, he was actually only giving 40% of his true potential. He realized that if he could tap into any of that extra 60%, then he could achieve greatness. And that's exactly what he did. Can't hurt me is a book for anyone who has experienced hurt in their life and is now looking to achieve greatness. It will teach you how to develop your mind, how to overcome any amount of pain that you might be feeling, and how to keep pushing forward when you feel like giving up.
