We find ourselves at a critical juncture in the second week of the Canadian election. With Prime Minister Mark Carney navigating complex Trump tariff negotiations and making much-needed housing announcements, the Poilievre campaign is faltering and making bizarre comments about the biological clocks of Millennial couples. Host Laura Babcock passionately warns of the erosion of reproductive rights in Trump's America and the Maple MAGA movement in Canada. Moreover, the troubling allegations surrounding CTV—specifically, that Poilievre's online supporters played a role in canceling journalist Rachel Gilmore from her fact-checking position—highlight a dangerous trend. This is not simply an attack on one individual; it's part of a broader strategy of intimidation and misinformation that seeks to silence dissenting voices.Panelists Sarbjit Kaur and Adam Coffey bring invaluable political insight and expertise, offering us the knowledge we need to engage in meaningful discussions and take action to counter the worst of Poilievre's MAGA.Now, more than ever, we need to join forces to counteract Maple MAGA's regressive social conservative policies and bullying tactics. Together, we can fight back. #elbowsup Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

East Coast Canadian came up with the title and it was just too good not to use. As you may have surmised, much is afoot in the Empire of Diagolon lately as the empire strikes back and the kvetching is truly remarkable to witness. The entire Diagolon-terror narrative has been exposed as nothing more than the fantasies of a drunk high school teacher and Toronto Pride homosexual as the RCMP and CSIS could not substantiate any of the claims made, and advised the government as such. The Government enacted the Emergency Measures Act anyway. #HateGate and #BanCAHN have been trending for two days, keep it going. Besides that, I'll probably make fun of Rachel Gilmore for about 88 minutes and fourteen seconds.
In Episode 18 of The Shallow End, Kat and Nat react to left-wing journalist Rachel Gilmore's baseless claim that "parental rights" are synonymous with "transphobia." Everyone in Canada is talking about MAID, AKA Medical Assistance in Dying. So, the ladies also address all the media coverage it's getting, including recent news out of Montreal about physicians having second thoughts about the lethal injection. Did you know Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead are in a "quad?" Do you even know what a "quad" relationship is? Neither did Kat and Nat. Plus, Dylan Mulvaney is back in action, LGBTQ+ people are allegedly more impacted by climate change than everyone else, and paper straws contain toxic forever chemicals! GUEST HOST: David Menzies Global News, along with its corporate master, Corus Entertainment Inc., are having a bad month. While the month isn't quite yet over, September has been brutally embarrassing for the Global News propaganda arm of the Trudeau Liberals. Indeed, to paraphrase a Queen Elizabeth descriptor, it has been mensis horribilus — a.k.a., a month of disaster and misfortune. And as we proceed with the autopsy, where does one even begin? On tonight's show, we'll look at the actions of two Global News journalists, David Akin and Rachel Gilmore. GUEST: Franco Terrazzano of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. FINALLY: Your messages to me!
The following episode contains graphic language and references to sexual and racial violence. Listener discretion is advised. Guests: Erica Ifill, The Hill Times columnist, and Rachel Gilmore, Global News reporter The past two weeks have seen a peak in the wave of hate washing over Canada fuelled by political polarization, divisions over masks and vaccines, and a growing far-right movement. It resulted in what appears to be systematic and organized digital hate campaigns against mostly women and journalists who are Black, Indigenous and people of colour (BIPOC) across Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton. Journalists have been sent a torrent of racist, homophobic, misogynistic and violent abuse via email, with threats and content so disturbing police have been contacted and conversations with stakeholders in play to assure their safety. Journalists Erica Ifill and Rachel Gilmore join host Saba Eitizaz for a difficult conversation with about where it all started and what it's like to be the target of hate. The shared pain and trauma might be personal, but the implications of what's going on could impact an entire nation. The following episode contains graphic language and references to sexual and racial violence. Listener discretion is advised. What does it mean to de-colonize the church? And what will this Lenten study look like? Join host Rachel Gilmore to learn more about this training that will launch in February. In March of 1739, John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, engaged in "field preaching" for the first time after being encouraged by his friend and fellow preacher George Whitefield. Instead of preaching his sermon from a pulpit, Wesley went out from the church and preached in the open air to those who didn't have the time or money to sit in a pew and hear the good news. Thousands of people, mainly those struggling with poverty, came to hear him preach that first week and the revival of Methodism was born as the good news became real in the hearts of those who heard about God's love and grace. Church planters are modern day "field preachers" who go out from the established church into the community where they proclaim good news to those who need it most. This podcast is a series of interviews and stories from modern-day Methodist field preachers who will make you laugh, cry, and think more deeply about how and where we are called to share God's love and grace.
The country enters its second day of vaccine rollout but some are still hesitant in Ontario’s LTC homes: Dr. Arya has some things to say about that. ALSO: Province orders Ontario company to take over Etobicoke long-term care home with COVID-19 outbreak GUEST: Dr. Amit Arya, Palliative Care Physician specializing in long term care - The government has confirmed that coronavirus vaccine manufacturers are protected from liability when it comes to issues with their doses — but the feds say this is par-for-the-course and has no bearing on vaccine safety. Rachel Gilmore, National Online Journalist for Global News - What are the security risks during Canada’s COVID-19 vaccination inoculation? The federal government says upgrades are necessary to Canada’s vaccine-tracking technology because of the “complex and fragile nature” of the COVID-19 vaccine, but it can’t explain why it started looking for a solution just weeks ago. The first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived in Canada on Monday. But the Public Health Agency of Canada, in a letter to industry, says there are still “mission critical” upgrades needed to their existing computer systems to manage the largest inoculation campaign in Canadian history. Has your life become boring, regular, predictable? Does your 9 to 5 pay the bills, but leave little time for you? While having predictability in my life makes me feel safe, I have had to admit that "comfortable" is becoming uncomfortable. There's a longing in my heart for more! Rachel Gilmore had a longing in her heart. She wanted to travel the world. But, like many, she didn't have the money. Yet, so deep was that longing, she created a vision board with Bali and Thailand on it. Imagine the shock and awe she felt when she won $10,000 in travel money! That was four years ago! Since that time, Rachel has traveled to Bali multiple times, Thailand and other places she use to dream of. And get this, she now takes others with her on Earth and Soul Adventures. With her message to take a leap into the uncomfortable, Rachel has discovered what living is all about. In our episode, she shares: The power of manifesting and what she did that manifested her soul's desire to travel How in her experiences of raw, pure fear she discovered just how powerful she was and that she could conquer any fear in her life The awakening of her own deep, abiding beauty while standing in awe of the beauty that surrounded her in the places she traveled What you can accomplish when you get comfortable in being uncomfortable ...and much more Rachel's is a story of no longer letting her fears stop her from living the life of her dreams. Listening to her story will lift you from the mundane, the ordinary, the safe, the comfortable to the exciting life just waiting for you to leap into it. I mean, for me, it's become comfortable for me to get uncomfortable. I asked a lot of people, 'What brings you the most joy?' And they don't know how to answer that question. So I'm going to invite everybody to discover what brings you the most joy. And if you don't, if you don't know, go try something you've never tried before. You’re an expert who wants to learn for experts. You are in the right place! Welcome to the Expert Focus Podcast hosted by the lovely Claire Dowdall. Claire is an entrepreneur, a coach, a podcast host, and a social media marketing expert. During each episode of this podcast, Claire invites different experts and specialist to share their stories. You’re not just going to get the pretty side of it either. That’s what makes this entrepreneurial podcast different. Claire and her guest talk about blunder, mistakes, and successes. Because of this, you can relate more to what you’re hearing! In this episode, Claire talks with Rachel Gilmore NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) coach and Transformational Travel Leader. As a Transformational Travel Leader, Rachel gathers those who need to make changes in their life and takes them on a seven to ten-day coaching journey away from “life” which allows the time and place for the embodiment of what they’re learning. Allowing people to take a moment to be healthily selfish and create a more solid foundation. What can put someone in a place to take this step? Typically a catalyst or an internal calling results in this type of journey. Rachel experienced a breakdown in her life around ten years ago because she wasn’t loving herself and she felt like she had to do too many things. She was working out of fear. She admits to contemplating suicide after her brother’s death. She realized that she had a purpose to get her life back on track and began working with coaches and taking classes. Her purpose became to love herself and teach others how to do the same. She explains that it took three years working on herself. We can not give to others from an empty well. Who does Rachel work with? Entrepreneurs Small business owners People who have said I’m here for more than just making money People who want to make a difference in the world/give back People who are looking to go to the next level What is NLP? Reprogramming of the subconscious mind Habits Conditions Patterns Reframing your thoughts Many different modalities Foundations Mental Physical Emotional Spiritual Shift through the process in order to achieve goals Create a report with the conscious and subconscious mind Rachel recommends her clients start their mornings in the following ways, starting with the gratitude journal and incorporating more like an organic process: Write a gratitude journal Breathing techniques (Wim Hof) Pray Set an intention for the day Write down goals Workout Most people with huge ability are blocked by their own mindset. School doesn’t teach anyone how to manage their emotions or mindset and we have to learn this as adults. It is an absolute obstacle in business. It’s also possible that people have a lot of book-knowledge, they know they need to make a change, but struggle to put it into practice and get stuck. Putting the mindset change into practice is what truly counts. It’s daily, an intentional practice that gets us closer to changing our lives. When people allow themselves to go away and intensively work on themselves the first thing we have to do is get to the point of having fun. Sounds silly, but as adults, we are constantly thinking of our to-do lists and things we need to do back home, but once we’re not thinking of those things and relax we begin to let walls down, be vulnerable, and deep dive. Where can someone make a simple start working on themselves? Awareness of the voice in your head - running the show Journal Set a timer to pay attention to your thoughts Observe yourself What brings you the most joy? Whatever it is . . . do it! We have to change the energy! “People struggle with putting themselves first in that way to take themselves away.” “When people begin to work on themselves, falling in love with themselves and see their worth and know that their purpose, their calling in life has been given to them for them to bring to the world and that they're worthy of bringing that to the world they are more apt to take that time.” “Everything started healing.” “I started realizing what I’m worth.” “Traveling is a whole new level of transformation.” “Doing is what we’ve been programmed to do. We have to hustle.” “Alignment is about connecting with yourself and your purpose.” “Attain an elevated state.” “I am the creator of my life.” “Watch that voice in your mind. If it’s not getting close to your visions, goals, or dreams put a hard stop to it.” Claire's LinkedIn Profile The Expert Focus Facebook Group The Expert Focus podcast on iTunes Rachel's LinkedIn Profile Rachel's Website Rachel's Facebook Profile
