Cassidy said VGK needs to limit Edmonton's chances and slow down the Oilers in the neutral zone. It will take a big effort for VGK's blueliners if they want to advance to the Conference Final. Shea Theodore, who missed the closeout game vs the Jets, is back at 100% after being sick. Cassidy also said VGK has to win D Zone faceoffs, especially and slow down entry passes. Conner McDavid said he feels this could be a series where each team is skating up and down the rink. VGK is able to take on another long-term contract in the process. The Golden Knights play at home tonight as they entertain the Calgary Flames at T-Mobile. Calgary rallied from 2 goal deficit in Arizona Wednesday night to pull out a 6-3 win over one of the hottest teams in the league (points in nine straight games before last night.) Dasco is still complaining that the Golden Knights have one of the easier schedules in the league, the way it shakes out. We've finally made it to the 5th and final volume of the 2015 Year in Dance.  It's been crazy around here lately, so I haven't had much time to write-up my thoughts about the year that was but suffice to say it gets a mixed review in my book. If 2014 was the transitional year as new forms of house began to bubble up from the underground and took hold of popular music, then 2015 was the year artists and producers rested on their laurels and frankly settled for sameness as opposed to innovating their sound. That's not to say there weren't any epic gems from the year and certainly the most original of them was released late last year (Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars "Uptown Funk"), which sounded like the Prince protegé's The Time riffing off of James Brown, which had the kind of staying power no one would have EVER predicted.  It does go to show that, artists don't have to rely on the house flavor of the moment to be relevant but should be willing to gamble on something they believe in.  When it works, the massive payoff cannot be underestimated. This final set leans heavily on the best of the house-side of dance from the year, with bits and pieces of everything else.  If you feel some of your favorites might be missing from these five sets, never fear as they may very well make an appearance on the upcoming New Year's Dance Party mix Blow Your Own Horn.  I started this one-off year-end party mix a couple of years ago and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.  In fact, last year's release is currently sitting at the top of the Party Favorz charts as I write this. Song selection has already been pulled together for the mix and I'll be starting on it shortly with a possible release date sometime mid-week; certainly, before your New Year's festivities begin. Looking back, 2014 was a year of transition where new forms of house music emerged from the underground and seized the mainstream. Yet, 2015 was seemingly a year of complacency where artists and producers seemed content to ride the wave of popularity rather than pushing the boundaries of their sound. That's not to say that 2015 was without its highlights. Among the Top Dance Songs of 2015, one standout track was "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars. Released late in the previous year, this track brought back nostalgic sounds reminiscent of The Time, proteges of Prince, with a James Brown-inspired vibe. Its immense popularity defied all expectations, proving that artists can step away from the house music trend of the moment and strike gold by betting on something they genuinely believe in. The final volume of the Top Dance Songs of 2015 focuses on the best house music of the year, interspersed with a sprinkle of other genres. If your favorite songs are missing from these five sets, don't worry. They might just appear in the upcoming New Year's Dance Party mix 'Blow Your Own Horn.'
