We're told to trust God when life falls apart and to cling to hope when we feel abandoned. To pray louder when heaven feels silent. But what if the silence isn't a punishment…but a pathway straight to His presence? What if the wall you've hit isn't the end, but the beginning of a deeper formation? This week on Win Today, I'm re-airing a raw and timely conversation with Dr. Lee Warren—one that took an unexpected turn moments before we hit record. What followed was one of the most personal and Spirit-led conversations I've ever had about wilderness seasons, grief, intrusive thoughts, and what to do when you feel like God has gone quiet. I opened up about the last two years of my life. And yet, what I've discovered in the silence is this: God's silence is not His absence. And when everything else shakes, His Word still stands. If you've ever felt stuck between the pain of what happened and the fear that nothing will change…if you've ever cried out for clarity and heard nothing in return…this episode is for you. Sometimes it's during a marathon when your body just says “no more,” but other times, it's just life that stops you cold. You lose motivation, faith, or direction — and it feels like there's no way through. But what if the wall isn't the end? What if it's actually the path? In this episode of Running Lean called “What to Do When You Hit the Wall,” I'm talking about how to face the hardest moments in your life and find the strength to move through them. Whether you're struggling in your running, your health, or just life in general, this episode will help you reframe those challenges and see them for what they really are — opportunities to grow stronger, wiser, and more resilient than ever. This one's honest, emotional, and powerful — don't miss it. The post 305. What to Do When You Hit the Wall appeared first on Running Lean with Patrick McGilvray.
The Phoenix Suns lost a heartbreaker at home to Memphis, falling 114-113, and the new "gritty" culture hit a massive snag. On today's episode of The Valley Verdict, we dive into a loss defined by self-destruction and star frustration. In this episode:The Turnover Toll: We break down the crippling 22 turnovers that Memphis turned into 37 decisive points, analyzing how poor spacing and bad decisions are sinking the new offense.Booker's Silence: We discuss the dramatic conclusion of the game, with Devin Booker walking straight to the locker room and declining post-game comments. We analyze the big question raised by Bickley and Marotta on 98.7 FM: What does this visible frustration say about the team's leadership?Coach Ott's Scrutiny: We review Head Coach Jordan Ott and Collin Gillespie's comments on the epidemic of turnovers, and discuss the urgency in Ott's voice after Thursday's practice. The Silver Linings: We look at the strong performances from other players (like Mark Williams and Collin Gillespie) that kept the Suns in the game, and whether these positives are enough to sustain the "culture" in the face of losses.Don't miss our final verdict on the state of the Suns! When the motivation fades and the pain gets loud, discipline—and perspective—keep you moving. Show Notes: In this raw follow-up to his 50K ultra race, Baylor Barbee dives deep into the pain cave—that dark mental space where your mind tells you to quit, and every step hurts. But this isn't just about running; it's about life, leadership, and learning to outlast adversity. Baylor breaks down what really happens when you hit the wall, why pain is proportional to the size of your goal, and how to train your mind to keep stepping when everything in you wants to stop. Whether you're chasing a business goal, building discipline, or simply trying to endure a difficult season, this episode is a masterclass in mental toughness and perspective. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why pain always scales with the size of your goal How to silence the voice that tells you to quit too early The mindset trick: “You can quit an hour from now” How to reframe fatigue by finding what's still going right Why focusing on small wins builds unstoppable momentum Featured Quote: "Pain is directly proportional to the size of your goal. So if it hurts, it means you're chasing something big."
Ever felt like you're low-level drowning, even though everything looks “fine” on paper? That's burnout—and it doesn't show up with fireworks. It creeps in quietly until suddenly you've hit a wall and wonder: How in the heck did I get here? In this solo episode of Don't Cut Your Own Bangs (episode 2 of the Put Down the Panic: A Kind Guide to Stress mini-series), Danielle shares what burnout really looks like, how to spot the sneaky signs early, and the surprisingly gentle ways you can climb back without guilt—or another mountain of “shoulds.” Grab your tea, light a candle, and let's walk through this together. Because you deserve calm without having to earn it. Recognize the early signs — “When the little things that normally bring you joy don't anymore, that's a red flag your body is waving.” Rest is not optional — “Burnout recovery is like a broken bone. You wouldn't skip the cast—so don't skip rest.” Anchor back to yourself — “Anchors are small daily choices—like a walk outside, drinking water before coffee, or asking for help—that root you in calm instead of chaos.” If this episode resonates, share it with a friend who might need the reminder that burnout isn't failure—it's just your body's way of saying: enough, please. Whether you're fighting for justice or just trying to make it through tough times, burnout is real. This conversation explores an honest question: Are you the person who needs care right now, or are you in a position to help others? Using the ancient story of Elijah's breakdown and recovery, we examine how to assess where you are emotionally and spiritually. The discussion offers practical tools for envisioning what your "healed self" might look like and identifying concrete next steps to get there. Rather than promoting endless self-improvement, it emphasizes that personal healing ultimately leads us back to community and collective action—not away from it. Includes interactive reflection exercises you can do while listening. Perfect for anyone feeling overwhelmed by current events or wondering how to sustain their energy for the long haul.
In this episode, I chat with Courteney Lowe, co-founder of Fuel Goods, about her journey from professional cycling to her first marathon—and all the hard lessons learned along the way. Courteney opens up about what it was like to hit the wall at mile 18, how poor fueling nearly took her out of the race, and why that experience ended up inspiring the launch of Fuel Goods. We cover everything from the mindset shift required to move from cycling to running, to the physical challenges of pacing and gut issues, to how her relationship with running changed when she started working with a coach. Courteney also shares what fuels her now, what shoes she trusts, and how she's balancing performance goals with the long game of staying injury-free and enjoying the process. If you've ever struggled with pacing, nutrition, or motivation, this conversation is full of the real talk runners need. Navigating Multifamily Challenges: Don't Hit the Wall! My stepfather was passionate about restoring muscle cars when I was a kid. We lived on some acreage, and the back half of the land was filled with several waiting to be revived. His dedication to these cars taught me a valuable lesson: where you focus your attention is where you'll end up. This principle isn't just for driving or car restoration—it's vital in navigating today's multifamily market. It's easy to fixate on the rising costs impacting our P&L statements in our current economic climate. Labor, goods, and services are all becoming more expensive, and rents are stabilizing at more typical growth rates. We risk steering our operations into trouble if we constantly focus on these stresses. Instead, we must set clear targets and identify cost savings and revenue growth opportunities. Don't let the pressures lead you astray. Focus on where you want to go, not the obstacles. We can navigate through these challenging times successfully by looking for ways to enhance revenue and control costs. If you found this advice helpful, please like, subscribe, and stay tuned for more insights on thriving in the multifamily space. Take care, and we'll talk again soon. #Multifamily #PropTech #Leadership #EconomicChallenges #RevenueGrowth #CostManagement#mikebrewer #multifamilycollective #multifamilymentoring #multifamilycoaching #multifamilypodcast #leadership #OpenAi #multifamilymedianetwork --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mike-brewer/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mike-brewer/support

Coming Up for Air - Families Speak to Families about Addiction
When you're beyond the fatigue of burnout, you're hitting the wall. Stressors have accumulated, and your emotions feel unmanageable. Step back. Claim your emotions, but state them briefly, making it clear you're going to go take care of yourself. Ask yourself how bad things are, and how much help you need. Allow yourself the compassion and patience to take a break.
Have you ever hit the wall in your spiritual life? Wherever you are in your journey, the closer you get to the finish line, the harder it can be to pursue truth and follow Jesus. In John 20, many different kinds of people hit the wall at the exact same time. In this message we'll see how God helped them—and can help us—break through the wall and finish well. Do you ever feel alone? Ironically, if you do...you're not alone in your feelings. That's why God designed the Church to be a community -- a place where everybody works together to accomplish His plan. In the Old Testament book of Nehemiah, we read that God's people came together to rebuild a city in just 52 days. God wants His Church to work together in such a way that the end result highlights our dependence on one another, and more importantly, our dependence on Him.
The Bible tells about a story in Nehemiah where God's people came together to rebuild a city, astonishing everyone that it was completed in 52 days. God wants His Church to work together so that the works that are accomplished point directly to Him and no one is alone in the process. Jed begins by telling the truth about “strong, independent women” and the deceitful messaging they receive from the media. She discusses why the talking point “Only men are liars” is nonsense, then reacts to Cosmopolitan magazine claiming that it's bad if your man gets turned on when he makes you orgasm. Jed then reacts to teachers saying that Andrew Tate's message is harmful to kids and takes on a psychologist and former sex worker who says that Tate is a con man. Jed then discusses why paying at the grocery store with the palm of your hand is a really bad idea. Jedediah Bila Live - A social commentary podcast on dating and politics that doesn't hold back! With the WTA Finals having reached the last four stage, David and Matt come together to wrap up the Round Robin action which saw some surprising results (Maria Sakkari finding her best form) and some unsurprising ones (Iga Swiatek serving up bagels). There's chat about Sakkari playing with freedom again, Swiatek dominating everyone, a gripping and dramatic match between Caroline Garcia and Daria Kasatkina with semi-final qualification on the line, and the fact that Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff combined for a 0-9 win-loss record across singles and doubles. Did they just hit the wall? How will this week affect USA in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals next week? And do Pegula and Gauff need to reconsider the amount of doubles they play next year? We also preview the semi-finals and discuss the tricky situation which the WTA finds itself in regarding a host venue for this event after a week of disappointing crowds in Fort Worth.
