Navigating Multifamily Challenges: Don't Hit the Wall! My stepfather was passionate about restoring muscle cars when I was a kid. We lived on some acreage, and the back half of the land was filled with several waiting to be revived. His dedication to these cars taught me a valuable lesson: where you focus your attention is where you'll end up. This principle isn't just for driving or car restoration—it's vital in navigating today's multifamily market. It's easy to fixate on the rising costs impacting our P&L statements in our current economic climate. Labor, goods, and services are all becoming more expensive, and rents are stabilizing at more typical growth rates. We risk steering our operations into trouble if we constantly focus on these stresses. Instead, we must set clear targets and identify cost savings and revenue growth opportunities. Don't let the pressures lead you astray. Focus on where you want to go, not the obstacles. We can navigate through these challenging times successfully by looking for ways to enhance revenue and control costs. If you found this advice helpful, please like, subscribe, and stay tuned for more insights on thriving in the multifamily space. Take care, and we'll talk again soon. #Multifamily #PropTech #Leadership #EconomicChallenges #RevenueGrowth #CostManagement#mikebrewer #multifamilycollective #multifamilymentoring #multifamilycoaching #multifamilypodcast #leadership #OpenAi #multifamilymedianetwork --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mike-brewer/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mike-brewer/support

Have you considered bringing on a parish coach to help facilitate renewal? Maybe you've been hesitant because you weren't sure if the timing was right, or you wonder what you'll actually gain from the experience. In this week's episode, Ron and Lorraine are discussing the important role that coaching can play in supporting priests and bishops. We believe immensely in the value that coaching can bring, and in this conversation, we unpack what this process looks like to help you consider if it might be worth exploring for your own parish. When you're beyond the fatigue of burnout, you're hitting the wall. Stressors have accumulated, and your emotions feel unmanageable. Step back. Claim your emotions, but state them briefly, making it clear you're going to go take care of yourself. Ask yourself how bad things are, and how much help you need. Allow yourself the compassion and patience to take a break.
Have you ever hit the wall in your spiritual life? Wherever you are in your journey, the closer you get to the finish line, the harder it can be to pursue truth and follow Jesus. In John 20, many different kinds of people hit the wall at the exact same time. In this message we'll see how God helped them—and can help us—break through the wall and finish well. The post When You Hit the Wall first appeared on White Pine Community Church.
You are listening to the messages from Pastor Scott Tewell who is the Lead Pastor at Rosedale Baptist Church in Rosedale, MD. Each week we provide these messages to help you grow in your faith and find encouragement through God's Word.

Do you ever feel alone? Ironically, if you do...you're not alone in your feelings. That's why God designed the Church to be a community -- a place where everybody works together to accomplish His plan. In the Old Testament book of Nehemiah, we read that God's people came together to rebuild a city in just 52 days. God wants His Church to work together in such a way that the end result highlights our dependence on one another, and more importantly, our dependence on Him.
The Bible tells about a story in Nehemiah where God's people came together to rebuild a city, astonishing everyone that it was completed in 52 days. God wants His Church to work together so that the works that are accomplished point directly to Him and no one is alone in the process. With a sprinkle of kindness towards ourselves and others, we aim to create a more compassionate and understanding world. The key lies in breaking old habits, carving new spaces, and incorporating everyday tasks to re-motivate ourselves. As we close our discussion, we stress the critical role of mental health professionals in our lives. It's okay to seek help from counselors, life coaches, and energy healers when we need it. They often provide the fresh perspective we need to overcome our challenges. Studio Soundtracks takes listeners behind the scenes of how music is crafted for film and television by hearing directly from composers, songwriters and music professionals in the Entertainment Industry. Listen to inspiring conversations about composition and hear works from Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar-winning film scores on the show. CRAIG WEDRENCraig Wedren first gained notice as the dynamic, multi-octave-wielding frontman of Shudder to Think. With its eccentric song structures and complex time signatures, Shudder to Think would prove a significant influence on math rock, post-hardcore, and emo. Since the band wound down in the late-'90s, Wedren has released a series of solo albums and related collaborative projects, and his music has become an essential part of some of film and television's most popular and lauded shows. Beginning with the soundtracks for the late-'90s films High Art and First Love, Last Rites along with his Shudder to Think bandmates, Craig's composing resume has gone on to include extensively working with director Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right) and David Wain (Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer). Wedren would go on to create evocative, decidedly contemporary scores for cultural-touchstone films and television series including The School of Rock, Laurel Canyon, Reno 911!, GLOW (Netflix), Fresh Off the Boat (ABC), Shrill (Hulu), New Amsterdam (NBC) and, most recently, the wildly popular Showtime series YELLOWJACKETS. ANNA WARONKERAnna Waronker is a composer, songwriter, singer and artist. Well known as the front woman and songwriter for the Los Angeles based band that dog., Anna has taken her unique melodic and harmonic sensibility and personal lyrical wit into composing for film and television. Notable scores and soundtracks include the limited series adaptation of Tegan & Sara's best-selling memoir, High School (FreeVee), Shrill (Hulu) with whom she co-composed with Craig Wedren, I Love That For You (Paramount+ with Showtime), the animated series Harriet The Spy (Apple), the cult classic Josie And The Pussycats, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, and many more. Anna has also worked in theater as a composer penning the music, book and lyrics with Charlotte Caffey (Go-Go's) for Lovelace A Rock Opera (The Hayworth Theater, Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and songs and score for a musical adaptation of Hit The Wall and Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner's The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe (Los Angeles LGBT Center/Davidson/Valentini Theatre). As a singer, performer and recording artist, Anna has produced and released two solo albums and four albums with that dog., most recently the critically acclaimed Old LP (UMe) in 2019. Recently, Anna has been busy working on the third season of Call Me Kat (Fox) and the young adult mystery School Spirits (Paramount+). Anna is currently working on the second season of the Emmy nominated and Critic's Choice winner Yellowjackets (Paramount+ with Showtime) with Craig Wedren. The duo write and perform a very unique and celebrated score. For season two of Yellowjackets, Anna and Craig have written an original song that features Hedwig and the Angry Inch's John Cameron Mitchell and collaborated with Alanis Morrisette on an alternate version of their Hollywood Music in Media Awards winning main title of Yellowjackets entitled “No Return.”

And what she tells her clients is what she wants to tell you today: Your questions are normal, healthy, and God will use them as we come to understand the grace available to us. Despite all the hype, after gobs of venture capital investment, several high profile IPO's and some big moves into physical retail, the OG's of the new wave of DTC are running into trouble. Most of the digitally native brands that were supposed to disrupt the retail industry (think Warby Parker, Stitch Fix, Allbirds, Caspar, and many more) may be growing the top-line--though not even Wayfair and Peloton can say that anymore--but their operating losses continue to grow.Virtually all of them have seen their market valuations collapse in recent months. And the once promising pivot to opening stores must be called into question, particularly as the entire industry faces growing headwinds. In this episode we dive deep into just what the heck is going on here and whether the hugely disappointing recent results from Warby Parker suggest a possible reset for the new breed of DTC brands. But first we open up with the retail news that caught our attention this week, including earnings reports from Target, Walmart, Kohl's and Lowe's that were, to put it mildly, rather disturbing. We also discuss whether it's a great idea for Amazon to buy Kohl's or whether they'd just be catching a falling knife. As an added bonus we also learn that you haven't lived until you've visited a Las Vegas ER in the wee hours of the morning. Hello to you listening in Makati City, Philippines!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Previously, Joe had finally figured out what to do to get the customers he wanted. But what kept him going?I asked Joe: All those months when people weren't buying, what was happening to you? How did you convince them? How did you convince yourself? Joe said, “It's really simple, once I figured out that I had no business convincing the world. I told myself over and over again, 'Some will. Some won't. Who's next?'”Joe's right. No matter what we're offering we have no business convincing everyone - just the some ones who need us and want what we have to offer. To make it through the wall I take my friend Joe's words to heart. As he said to me, “Some will. Some won't. Who's next?”Story Prompt: Think about a time when you finally learned how to call in the right clients, partners, relationships, or opportunities and let go of everything that didn't belong. How did you do it? What happened next? Write that story! Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story. You're invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a nice shout out on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! Hello to you listening in Painesville, Ohio!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Previously, my friend Joe was trying to sell his product at fairs in Virginia but no one was buying and he hit the wall. What do you do? Lower your price? Offer fewer selections? Or, give it up altogether as a crazy idea?Remembering why he started this mad adventure in the first place Joe decides to dig in and stick with the Virginia fair route. It's not easy changing minds or attitudes or appetites. Folks at the fairs give him a hard time about his product and his prices. But at each venue he stands outside the mobile kitchen and shares his story - one that the University of Maryland encouraged him to tell: why organic goats, where they are pastured, who takes care of them, how they live, what makes this meat special, and why it's worth it. He prints up a one-page of the story and hands that out, too. Slowly it changes. Person by person the story draws them in, the goat meat dinners keep them there. How did Joe do it? Hello to you listening in Broomfield, Colorado!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane WyzgaPreviously, my friend Joe was stuck figuring out how to market his organic goat meat.Maybe it's fate, maybe it's the post office but a flier from the University of Maryland Extension Program, College of Agriculture ends up in Joe's mailbox. He reads about a weekend course on how to market your product and decides to jump in. As with so many ideas this seems straightforward enough: get out there, network, push your product. How hard could that be?So, Joe finds an old motor home for sale and fixes it up as a traveling kitchen. He's going to visit each and every state and local fair in Virginia. Surely, people eat at the fair. But, it's terrible out there. Downright miserable. Joe is offering 3 items: organic goat kabobs, organic goat curry and an organic goat skillet burger with all the fixins. He's up against onion blossoms, corn dogs, brats and peppers, curly cut fries. While his prices are in keeping with what he's trying to sell, they're more than the competition. The food is foreign. Nobody is interested - except maybe on a dare. He hits the wall. Now what? Hello to you listening in Charlottesville, Virginia!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane WyzgaMaybe like me you know how it feels to hit the wall. Fatigue, loss of energy, negativity, or lack of enthusiasm when you've used up whatever it is that's been holding you up. Maybe you ask yourself: Does anybody care? What is this for? Who is this for? What's the point? You have two options: stand and stagnate or figure out how to move over, under, around, or through the wall. How do I do it? I step back. I go for a walk - maybe a few walks. I think about a time when I was working as a shepherd on a fiber farm on the outskirts of Charlottesville, Virginia. While there I met a fellow named Joe who raised organic goats for meat. Many of his customers came from the D.C Beltway area; they were quite happy to pay good money for quality food. But Joe hit the wall selling goat meat from his farm. He wanted to venture out and educate people about the value of eating what he raised: food that's organic, sustainable, humanely harvested, no junk in the feed, and lots of pasture to graze. But he didn't know how to begin. Or where to begin. Now what? Join us tomorrow for Part 2.
