Kevin A. Patterson & Alana Phelan, the authors of the For Hire series, join us to talk about their new books featuring queer polyamorous heroes and magicians. It's a world like our own, but the emergence of superhumans has created shifts in culture that play out in changes both subtle and monumental. They chat about what inspired the characters, the story, and whether shadow government conspiracy theories are real. Kevin Patterson, M.Ed has been practicing ethical nonmonogamy since August of 2002. In April of 2015, Kevin was inspired to start Poly Role Models, a popular interview series blog. The blog extended into speaking engagements about how race and polyamory intersect and the writing of the book, Love's Not Color Blind. Kevin took a month-long break from Love's Not Color Blind to write the first draft of For Hire: Operator. Alana Phelan is a librarian, writer, editor, and community organizer. She lives in South Jersey with her family, two cats, and a surprisingly large Dorbz collection. You can find her online as The Polyamorous Librarian, where she writes a weekly advice column and offers workshops and relationship support. Over the past five plus years of doing running DisKingdom, we've reached a point where things need a refresh, I need to sit back, take out some time out to look at what's working, what isn't and find a new clearer idea of what DisKingdom should be. Back in 2014, we started off with the idea that we would cover everything "Disney", but it just was too much, resulting in the site narrowing down to covering collectibles and merchandise. But trends have changed, we've seen Vinylmation, Disney Infinity, Tsum Tsum's, Ufufy's, Dorbz, multiple mobile games plus many other products come and go, along with physical media giving way to more digital products. The website is still going to be updated regularly during the process, but in the mean time, I'm going to be putting the DisKingdom Podcast on Hiatus, this will also include any new videos going onto the YouTube channel. Since July, our YouTube channel, along with many others, saw its traffic drop 99% and with new rules coming into place in January, this has made making videos etc almost impossible to justify. Luckily the audio version of the podcast continues to be popular, but to do it justice, I need some time to reevaluate what DisKingdom is going to be and where its future lies. In this podcast episode, I do share my thoughts on the current state of collectibles, my own personal issues that have effected my personal collecting and why I feel its time to stop, take a break and work out what to do next. The site/podcast isn't going anywhere, but sometimes taking stock and coming up with a new plan is needed.

Booster Gold once made a similar remark during his time-travel adventures written by Legends executive producers Geoff Johns Marty McFly: Younger Rory is wearing a red vest/jean jacket outfit reminiscent of Marty McFly's Back to the Future outfit. Arrow bits: “If he ever lost me…” young Sara says of her father. Date of Ray's attack is December 19, 2014, and Arrow was on hiatus at that time Fruit Brute: Fruit Brute is one of the “monster” cereals like Count Chocula and Frankenberry. The fact that Rip has a collection of vintage cereals makes total sense because in the Booster Gold comics, we were told once that Rip has a fridge full of vintage Coca Cola Ma Hunkel: Ma Hunkel's Red Tornado is seen in Rip's time lab Rip Hunter's Mother: In the comics, we never learn the name of Rip's mother, so as to not lock his father, Booster Gold, into a future relationship Michael?: Rip Hunter's father in the comics is Michael Jon Carter, aka Booster Gold, so the name “Michael” might be a nod to his comic book parentage. ARROW NEWS: Where Team Arrow Stands when Season 5 Begins (Date: 16 Aug 2016) IGN: Executive producers Wendy Mericle & Marc Guggenheim preview what's ahead: *Season 5 deals with legacy, it deals with the past. The challenge for Oliver this year is how do you evolve and move forward when the past keeps grabbing at you, trying to pull you back. Oliver: building team with Felicity, Curtis (who is going to become Mr. Terrific), and newcomers Evelyn Sharp and Wild Dog while trying to be mayor. Tries to optimistic, but forces will try to pull him into the darkness. Relationship with Felicity should be closer to what it was during season 1. * Diggle: He is to have his own story in the army trying to get his morality back. * Thea: Going to be Oliver's chief of staff and is good at it.
