Even King David had moments when he couldn't hear from God even though he was asking, begging God to speak! If you are seeking God and not hearing God, you are in good company. All is not lost.
Today, we're talking about something powerful—how God speaks to us through the people He places in our lives. We often think of hearing from God as a personal, private experience, but Scripture makes it clear: God also uses friends, mentors, pastors, and even unexpected strangers to sharpen us, guide us, and reveal His wisdom. Our springboard for today's discussion is: Proverbs 27:17 – “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”When God wants to get our attention, He often does it through people. Think about Moses—he had Aaron to help him. Paul had Barnabas and Timothy. Even King David had Nathan the prophet, who wasn't afraid to call him out when he went astray. God places people in our lives not just for companionship but for accountability, encouragement, and direction.Maybe you've had a moment when a friend's words struck you deeply—something they said confirmed exactly what you had been praying about. Or a sermon seemed tailor-made for your situation. These aren't coincidences; they are divine appointments. But there's a key here: we need to be open. If we're too proud or isolated, we can miss the very people God is using to shape us.Take a look at your circle. Who are the voices speaking into your life? Are they leading you closer to God or away from Him? Seek out those who challenge you, who hold you accountable, and who speak wisdom into your walk with Christ.Question of the Day: Who in your life has God used to guide, encourage, or correct you? How did their words impact your journey?Let's Pray: Lord, open our hearts to hear Your voice through the people You've placed in our lives. Give us discernment to recognize wise counsel and humility to receive correction. Surround us with godly influences who sharpen us and draw us closer to You. Have you ever felt like your prayers were not answered? Even King David felt like God had abandoned him. But, God is always present and is full of mercy and grace towards us. Today, Pastor Johnny tells us that it is because of God's amazing grace that we have not received what we deserve. His mercy and grace abound.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 6th of April, 2024, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in 2 Corinthians 6:10: "…as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things." Then we go to the Book of Nehemiah 8:10: "Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." The joy the Lord is speaking about here, is not walking around with a big smile on your face, always laughing. That's not joy. Joy is not a feeling, it is a fact. Why should we be happy this morning? Well, maybe the first thing we can thank God for is for the opportunity of having eternal life. If you love Jesus Christ today, my dear friend, your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life, and when the Lord comes to take you and I home, we will find our name is written there, not because we are good people but because we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Some people write to us, and they ask the question, "Why is Angus always so happy?" Oh, folks, I have to be honest with you. I am not always feeling happy. I really mean that. Sometimes, I am not happy at all, but it is the joy of knowing that Jesus Christ died for me, He loves me, and He will fulfil everything He promised me in the word. Even King David, who wrote all those beautiful psalms, says sometimes, he speaks to his soul, "Oh my soul, why are you so downcast?" We need to understand that joy, always rejoicing, is a decision that we have to make. You know, sometimes when you get bucked off your horse, you don't always feel full of joy, do you? No - I have lost count of how many times I have been bucked off my horse. An old cowboy saying goes something like this: "Cowboy up (in other words, 'cowboy get up') or go and sit in the pick-up." We have got to get up, dust ourselves off and get back into the fight, because the Lord Jesus Christ never promised us a bed of roses, but He did promise us that He would walk with us through the fire. A man by the name of W. Aiken, wrote: "No Christian can ever know what is meant by these two little words, 'Always rejoicing', but the Christian who takes up his cross and follows Jesus." That's right, he is the one who knows.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 11th of June, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. “Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right.”Proverbs 20:11“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?” Matthew 7:16 Of course not. You know folks, even a little child is known by his deeds and his motives, whether what he does is pure and right. Just like we all know so very well that you can never gather grapes from a thorn bush. You don't have to be a farmer to know that, do you? - or figs from thistles. That is why we need Jesus to help us walk a road of honesty and integrity because, in our natural man, we have no goodness whatsoever. Even King David, the darling of the Israeli people, the champion of Israel, and David's City, Jerusalem, named after him, even he said, in Psalm 51:5: “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.” We are born with sin in us. That is why we need Jesus. Romans 3:23 says “for all, (everyone, sir - for all) have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”Now, I am going to offend a couple of grannies here, and I am sorry, granny, that little Johnny, that little grandson of yours, that little Mary, that little granddaughter of yours, she is born in sin. Now, you say, “No ways, she is a little angel. They are absolute angels.” I know, I have eleven myself, but have you ever said to little Mary or little Johnny, “Please just for once be naughty today” - have you ever said that? No, because naturally, they are naughty. You have got to say to them, “Be good,” and teach them the principles of God. But you know, the good news of God is in Romans 6:23, the Bible says: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I want to encourage you, granny and grand-dad, teach your grandchildren the principles of God when they are young, and when they grow old they will not depart from them. We need to live the life, we need to walk the talk, we need to be living examples and ambassadors of Jesus Christ. So today, go out and be Jesus to people who are lost and who are hurting and who need direction.God bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.
On Wednesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, MBI professor of Bible, Steven Sanchez introduces us to the study of 1 Kings for the month of May in Today in the Word. During this study we will see how much of Israel's leadership was poor, and led to crisis, suffering, and pain for the people. Even King David was far from perfect! As believers, we know that Jesus, the Son of David, is the final fulfillment of God's perfect plan. We don't put our trust in earthly kings, but in the righteous Leader who laid down His life so we will enjoy fellowship in the kingdom of God forever. 2 Samuel 13-15 David has 2 sons Absalom and Amnon and a daughter Tamar. Amnon was obsessed with Tamar. Amnon has a friend named Jonadab who convinced him to act sick and let the King know that you want Tamar to cook for you and feed you. So Amnon tells his father that he is sick and that he wanted Tamar to come to the house and cook for him and feed him. The King tells Tamar to go to the house and take care of her brother Amnon. Once Tamar gets to the house she cooks a meal and ready to feed Amnon but he grabs her wrist and rapes her. She starts crying and now he hates her. he has his servant to throw her out of the house. Her brother Absalom see her crying and he ask did Amnon have his way with you? She said yes and he told her to keep quite and not tell anyone about this. Tamar was no longer a virgin. Absalom never said anything for 2 years so he decided he was throwing a party and wanteed the kings sons to attend and the King. King David turned down the offer. So Absalom askif Amnon could come. Amnon came to the party and he got drunk and Absalom ordered his servant to kill his brother. King David got word of what happened to his son Amnon and wept. Absalom fled and went to Gershur. Summary: God wants us to bring all of how problems to him. We are not to commit sin against his people. God is our judge not people. Ch. 14 Joab the son of Zeruiah sent for a wise woman. He wanted her to act as if she was in mourning and he wanted her to go see the King. Joab told her everything to say to the King. She did as she was instructed. The King told her he would take care of the issue. She later asked the King if she could ask the king a question and he allowed her to ask the question. After listening to the question the King asked her if Joab had anything to do with this and she said yes. The king spoke with Joab and told him to go get Absalom from Gershur and bring him back to Jerusalem. the agreement was that Absalom couldn't see the king face to face when he returned home. It had been 2 years and he had not seen the king but Absalom wanted to speak to the king but Joab wouldn't take heed. Absalom reached out to Joab on more than one occassion. Absalom had his servants to set Joab field on fire. Joab set up a meeting with the King to meet with Absalom. Summary: God loves us all. We must allow God to lead us in everything that we speak and think. Ch. 15 Now Absalom has started to plot against his Father King David. bsalom has started to get the support of the people. Instead of sending the people to King David for answers to there questions Absalom takes it upon himself to answer there question as if he was King. Absalom had a huge following now.Now Absalom asked the king to let him go to Hebron. The king gave his blessing. Absalom had 200 men when he left Jerusalem. So the King heard what Absalom had done. So the King decided that it was time for him and his sevants to leave Jerusalem. Even King David advisor Ahithophel had joined Absalom. The king and servants had crossed the Brook Kidron and wander into the wilderness. The king told Zadok to take God's Chest back to Jerusalem that way he could spy on Absalom and bring the King information on what going on in Jerusalem. The king wept. Summary: When we don't seek diections from God our lives falls apart. David's sons lives were evil, corrupt and judgemental. God wants us to prosper and walk in faith. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/irtwbey365/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/irtwbey365/support
Everyone longs for a leader they can trust to give them prosperity, stability, and security. We might call them a “knight in shining armor” or, it may sound corny, even a hero. Yet, that's what we hope for in every election, in our job, in our relationships, in a crisis - you get the idea. It is also what the people way back in the Old Testament longed for in a leader. However, no matter what leader they had, eventually they were disappointed. Even King David, who was the best king they could have hoped for, let everyone down. The silver lining in all of this is that when human leaders overpromise and underdeliver, they point to the perfect leader and king. This week we return to our series Seeking: Hope For The Future King. In each story, mainly based in 1&2 Samuel, we will see a king that never disappoints. Join us this Sunday for Seeking: Hope for the Future King - Part 3: Good Luck!
In the Beginning We admitted we were powerless over our addictions, over others' addictions, emotions, and behaviors... Many of us grew up in families riffed with dysfunction of all sorts! Even King David, Joseph, and Yeshua, the list grows larger and larger as we ponder the family systems all the way back to Adam and Eve, our first human parents. Boy, what a mess we humans are! We need hope! We need a path back to balance, harmony, and to the Father's heart! So come along for the journey that will assist you in getting rid of the spots and wrinkles on your wedding garments for the Wedding Feast of the Lamb is soon to begin!
The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. ~ Psalm 24:1 (NLT) There is a well-known scene in the movie Finding Nemo. If you've ever seen the movie, I can just say one word and it will instantly pop into your head. “Mine!” If you're not hearing seagulls, then you haven't seen it. Here's the deal. In this scene, there is a dock in the harbor of Sydney, Australia upon which a bunch of seagulls sitting around. Suddenly, a sea creature that they normally eat appears, and they all turn their attention toward it and begin shouting, “Mine! Mine! Mine!” Of course, the way they shout it sounds like a seagull's call. It's an instant Disney classic moment. Of course, are we humans much different than those crazy birds? I mean, maybe the reason it's an instant classic isn't just because it's funny, but because we can relate. If you are a parent, you probably remember when your child went through the phase where they would not share anything. (For those who aren't parents yet, or your kid hasn't reached two years old, you'll get it eventually.) Everything they touched became, “Mine!” I remember prying a straw out of one of my child's hands because they kept gagging themselves with it. They immediately flew into a temper tantrum. It was a straw! Seriously? Us adults can be the same way. Maybe we don't become obsessive about a straw, but we sure do about our lives. And, as Christians, this is dangerous territory because our lives aren't actually ours. In case you forgot, when you accepted Jesus as your savior, your life stopped being “Mine!” and was instead turned over to Jesus. It is now “His!” Even King David got this concept – though he struggled with follow through a bit – when he penned our verse today, “The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.” In other words, there is nothing that exists apart from God. The earth? He built it. Each person? As the bible says, He knit them together in their mother's womb. In other words, everything in existence is here because of Him. It is His. So, today, and every day, give God His due. Give Him thanks for this life, and the promise of the one to come. Give thanks for the things He is loaning you. Give thanks for all He has done and will do. Give thanks that He loves us enough to share His goodness.
“Even though, I will” “Remember that person that gave up? Neither does anyone else!” (Reality of life!) A very good morning to all you beautiful, blessed children of the Most High! It is once again my priviledge & honour, to share with you, what I believe God, has laid upon my heart … a “now Word” for many. As I believe that many people across the world, saved and unsaved, are facing extremely tough and challenging times!! Amen anyone? So, before we get into our sermon for today, let us just bring this morning to the Lord in prayer. “Opening prayer” Many of you that knows me well, will know that I am quite fascinated or intrigued by super-natural human achievements, and that I read up on the subject quite often. And today I would just like to share with you briefly, on an achievement that is not only worthy to be mentioned, but an achievement that can be used as a life lesson … a tenacious faith statement, which declares that: “Even though, I will” You see church, on 3rd June 2017, Alex Honnold stood in front of a 3000 foot vertical granite rock, called El Capitan, in the Yosimite National Park in California, and after 10 years of dreaming, after being told that it cannot be done, nobody has ever done that, it's way too dangerous, one mistake – certain death! (over 30 fatalities). And looking up to that sheer size of that granite face, Alex Honnold started to “Free Solo El Capitan” without any ropes & any safety gear. On that bright morning, I can imagine Alex saying: “Even though … I will”… well, it took him just over 4 hours to conquer El Capitan, the 1st human being to free solo this giant of a rock and carved his name in the annals of mountaineering, and great human achievements. So, this morning I would like you to turn your Bibles to Habakkuk 3: 17-18(NLT) – 17Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, 18yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! Once again, we are reminded, this time through Scripture, that “Even though, I will” You see, Habakkuk trusted God, he had his faith rooted in God, he had the assurance that God can be trusted, no matter what (somebody listen up…) God can be trusted, no matter what you're facing right now! Even though you're in the lowest of valleys, in the eye of the storm …and no idea of when and how it will end, yet you believe by faith, that God will come through for you … “Even though, I will!” Even King David, who penned many of the Psalms, proclaimed boldly in that well known Psalm 23:4, Even though I walk through the (sunless) valley of the shadow of death, I WILL fear no evil! Even though I have the odds stacked against me, I will trust in the God of my salvation! I will say of the Lord, Psalm 91:2 - “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust” (Even though, I will!) Please allow me to take you to around midnight, to a dungeon (an underground prison cell) in Phillipi in Acts 16:25-34(NIV) – 25About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone's chains came loose. 27The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he though the prisoners had escaped. 28But Paul shouted, “Don't harm yourself! We are all here!” 29The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved- you and your household.” 32Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 34The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God-he and his whole household. Paul & Silas had the odds stacked against them …. bound in chains with no possibility of escape …. beaten and bruised, they used the most effective weapon in a Believers arsenal, they started singing and praying unto their God! Verse 25 You see church, Paul & Silas made their minds up, they made faith declarations that, “Even though, I will” They had all the reason in the world to be miserable, grumpy, moody & discouraged! But they trusted God, irrespective of insurmountable circumstances & conditions, and God proved to them, and to us through His Word, that He is the God of the super-natural … always was, is and always will be! There are still so many Bible characters that I can mention Church, Noah, Daniel, Job to name but a few, who all adopted the mindset & attitude that, “Even though, I will.” My challenge to each one of you is simply this ….. When last did you look at your mountain, that situation that you have no control over? Well it's time to say to what ever you're facing right now: “Even though, I will.”
There is nothing like when a hope you have gets dashed! It's pretty painful. We all have experienced this. Even King David did, many times. Here is some REAL hope. Hope that lasts...forever.
King David was a man after God’s heart. But of course, even he had his shortcomings! Today on Discover the Word, the team, and authors Randy Richards and Brandon O’Brien…
Romans 7:14-17 Struggling with Sin 14 So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. 15 I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate. 16 But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. 17 So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. LINKS https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeEYLON29qbmJhSEgmlcFzQ SHOW NOTES Trevor and his student that he could push to the limit. We should be like that student where God can take us to the limit. God will not give you more than you will handle Are we at our current max or have we not done what we were supposed to do for the "next step." There are some things that all christians should be doing: Of course we should be reading the bible and praying. but there is also more! We are called to love each other (patient and kind). Help the poor. Hebrews is so good. Hebrews gives us the examples of people of faith. Faith is by design hard and something you don't want to do, it's supposed to be something that seems impossible. Have we missed god's call? or have we not given God the chance to speak to us. Dave went to visit a friend to share his faith out of obedience to God. Even King David felt at times that he did not hear God. Paul makes God seem like a Gremlin sometimes. "it is sin living in me that does it." One of the most relatable verses in the bible. "I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate." We have experienced doing what we hate instead of what is right. We lack the strength to simply will ourselves not to sin. If we were able to define our own Law, we wouldn't even be able to follow that. We are a slave to what we obey. Every act we do is in service to some purpose. However, the Holy Spirit is stronger than the sin living in me. Serve the Holy Spirit first. Most of us truly are creatures of habit. Especially when it comes to our morning routines. In fact, certain statistics show that the average wake-up time for most people is approximately 6:30 am and that 61% of these individuals have followed the same routine for over one year. Some of you might ask, “What's the big deal with having a routine”? Having a routine is not necessarily a bad thing – unless the daily rituals within the routine aren't exactly producing positive outcomes. People tend to be the most productive in the first 2 hours of the morning. Unfortunately, the natural tendency for most is to spend the majority of these 2 hours doing things that either require little cognitive abilities, or prime our minds to be in a reactive state for a large portion of our day. For example, 60% of the people surveyed reported looking at their cell phones immediately after waking up. Once this happens, the brain begins to respond chemically in such a way, it makes it difficult to reposition the person's thoughts and actions. In a similar manner, 48% admit to checking e-mail right after waking up, which naturally puts the mind in a reactive or management state, also making it tough for us to shift back into a more positive state of mind. If you find yourself stuck in a morning routine you'd like to change, here's a few things for you to consider: Don't give yourself permission to immediately engage with e-mail or social media after waking up. In fact, consider moving your phone away from your bed, possibly even to another room. Now, for those of you also using your phone as an alarm, the solution is simple... buy an alarm clock! Within moments of waking up, try not to immediately role-play yesterday's events in your mind, or become overly anxious about today or tomorrow's responsibilities (Matthew 6:34). Wake up earlier. Almost all highly effective people wake up early. Many of them much earlier than the average mentioned above. Plus, there's just something about having sufficient time to control the events of your morning. Most people who rise early profess doing so allows them to do what really matters most. Remember, getting up earlier also means going to bed earlier! Fuel your body and your mind in a healthy way. Most effective people, who are also Christians, give testimony of the importance of reading Scripture, working through a devotion or journaling early in the morning. Starting each day with God not only pleases Him, but also brings His favor to us (Proverbs 8:33-35). It sets the tone in our minds for how to manage the rest of our day. Healthy eating does the same for us physically. Exercise in some way. Burning calories early in the morning can sometimes be a daunting task. However, just like eating healthy and inputting positive thoughts into your mind each day, not only will exercise strengthen your muscles and your heart, eventually you will feel much better overall. Spend quality time with family. Having adult children, I can truly say I know just how quickly our children grow up. Being married for over 35 years, I can also tell you time seems to fly by in marriage as well. You can't go back and recapture time already spent. And yet, I can't remember regretting the time I spend with Lynne, our girls or our grand-baby over work. So, how intentional and productive are you early in your day? Even King David realized the value of early morning intentionality (Psalms 143:8). Should you need to change some of your morning routines, just remember you need to create a plan with reachable goals. It will likely take time, but if you want to make it to the other side of the street, you must be willing to step off the curb and start walking.
Parenting is never easy. Even King David, a man after God’s own heart, failed at parenting three of his sons. Only by relying on God and turning to Him for guidance can we hope to succeed. On Sunday, March 1, 2020, Pastor Chad Gilligan looks at the life of David, showing how your relationship with God today will impact your children tomorrow and generations to come.
Have you ever had a time in your life when God seemed distant and silent? When you couldn't see what He was doing, and so you found yourself asking, "How long will this go on, God? How long before you answer me? How long before you intervene and make things better? How long?" If that's you, you're not alone. Even King David experienced moments like these. But in his time of pain and sadness, rather than stuffing it or numbing it, he came to God with his raw and honest questions. And these humble prayers provided a path for him (and for us) to move from pain and despair to trust in God's love. (Note: We were honored to hear Kelly Goodell's journey of grief and hope beginning at 31:20).
It is time for King David to bring the Ark Of The Covenant to Jerusalem. Although the intent is correct and he took great care in preparing it for transport, the first attempt resulted in God putting a man to death after he tried to stabilize the Ark as it was about to fall from its transport. This incident sounds peculiar and it seems to us that it is unlike our loving God to react this way to an innocent desire to keep the Ark from falling to the ground. Even King David was angry with God for killing this man. Why would God react this way to this incident while carrying the Ark to its rightful home in Jerusalem? An excellent question that you and I would do well to understand. This is precisely why the account is preserved in the Bible! Join the lesson and discover for yourself even more about how God' thinks and how He comes to do what He does. Especially when it makes little sense to us! Yes, God really DOES want YOU to know Him VERY intimately, if you are His in Christ. DEDUCTIVE - Based on inference of scripture, these churches are further divided into sub-groups. For example, those who believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, operation of the gifts of the Spirit . . . and those who do not. CULTURAL - These churches appeal to the styles and movements of the current day and may be further divided into two (2) groups: traditional and seeker sensitive. Apostle Handley’s book on Militant Church History (written in 1973) is right on track today and lists the seven (7) stages of church history: past and prophetic. Just a cursory review of recent decades, however, shows something as to the movement of the Holy Spirit (with some aberrations of men). In the late 1960s and into the 1970s, we had the "hippy" movement. In the 1980s we had the coming of age of the burgeoning "baby boomers." In the 1990s we had the "Me" (the selfish) generation, with examples such as "Seinfeld." Today, we are in the infant stages of the "rupture" of society ... and at the same time, the infant stages of the apostolic church. By the "rupture" of society I am talking about the appearance of militant Islamic fundamentalism. MUSIC We hear lots of commentary by news media outlets saying that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. This is NOT correct. Christianity is the fastest growing religion in the world. Demographics and surveys are drawn from largely the traditional and denominational churches. The statistics do NOT account for the fact that much of exploding church growth occurs in the non-traditonal, non-mainline, non-denominational churches: much in house churches and the underground church ... SUCH AS IN CHINA! However, there IS now a large growth of Islam. Why? Because people want to identify themselves with . . . to belong to or be part of . . . a culture. It is TIME for a NEW CHURCH: one that is drawn by the Spirit to people and one to which people are drawn by the Spirit! The NEW church understands the current culture, the people and their styles. The following statistics are representative of this NEW church: 43% of the people were born between 1927 and 1945 37% of the people were born between 1946 and 1964 16% of the people were born between 1965 and 1983 4% of the people were born between 1984 and 2006 We must reach this youngest group! If you haven’t already studied about this, go to www.realmiracles.com and in the upper right of any page "Search" for "The Greatest Outreach." Also, go to the Archives of The Apostles Group and search for: "Trends, Times, and Tongues." [August 28, 2004] The NEW APOSTOLIC church will reach people in their styles and cultures with anointed music. People will join a church when they SEE people EXCITED about their faith. Acts 15:15-18 tells us: "This agrees with the words of the prophets. As it is written, 'After these things I will return. I will again build the tent (tabernacle) of David, which has fallen. I will again build its ruins. I will set it up, That the rest of men may seek after the Lord; All the Gentiles who are called by my name, Says the Lord, who does all these things. All his works are known to God from eternity." This scripture is referring to Amos 9:11 foretelling the rebuilding of the dynasty of David through Messiah who would come. However, it has a multiple fulfillment, also, in the building of the Kingdom of God (even before the 1,000 year Messianic Kingdom on earth) by the organic spiritual growth of the resurrected Messiah's body of believers. The Messianic synagogues and churches today who operate in the apostolic and prophetic functions ... and who abound with the high praises of God ... are creating NEW birthings of the Spirit and forging alliances of ministry purposes:Individual birthings of the Spirit through repentance and believing the Good News ... and corporate birthings of NEW synagogues and churches, whether they meet in offices, buildings, houses, the desert, or forests. What was the Tabernacle of David like? It was NOT like Solomon’s Temple, with all its wealth and gold. The Tabernacle of David was a "make-shift" tent where the praises of God resounded. Even King David, when he was returning with the Ark of the Covenant was dancing and praising God publicly (and almost nude)! MUSIC The NEW APOSTOLIC church will have prophetic dancers: even incorporating new cultural themes in music. The NEW APOSTOLIC church will have a NEW BREED who will want to join and participate in MIRACLES: people who want to be instruments through whom the Holy Spirit will flow to bring healing to sinful, bruised humanity. A brother in my area recently took a campus survey at one of California’s major universities. In that survey the students were asked the question: "What will it take to get you into church?" The majorityof the university students being surveyed answered: "We want to SEE God’s miracles and the supernatural." Have you ever noticed that the churches and people who say “wanting to see miracles” is wrong are the ones who are NOT experiencing MIRACLES? Jesus never blasted people for wanting to see or experience MIRACLES. He blasted them because they just wanted to take part in eating the bread that was multiplied. Yeshua answered them, "Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled." [John 6:26] During 1950-1960 several great healing ministries were raised up by God. Many people were saved as a result. Then in the period from 1960 to 1970 there was great emphasis on pastoring to care for the thousands of new converts. Then, from 1980 to 1990 there was great emphasis on teaching. Around 1990 many new prophetic ministries were raised up, along with praise and worship. Now, we are in the INFANT STAGES of the NEW APOSTOLIC CHURCH. MUSIC The PROPHETIC brings things to pass in the Spirit. It opens up new vistas and causes them to happen. The APOSTOLIC takes the different forms of ministry and unites them into a harmonious unit. The APOSTLE recognizes that the fivefold ministries are NOT ministries necessarily of accuracy, but rather of function to bring about a cohesive objective: the formation of the Tabernacle of David and the growth and dominion of the Kingdom of God. The apostle of the NEW CHURCH should probably have experience in all functions: not just the apostolic, but also as prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher. It was not too long ago, before the fall of Communism, that Albania was known as the hardest Communist country. Just to mention the name "God" would result in a jail or prison sentence. There was a Muslim man who was about to die of radiation contact. A Christian brother told him about Jesus and His healing power, then laid hands on him and prayed for him. The man went to the hospital to be checked again and they found he was completely healed. The doctor asked him, "How did this happen?" The man said, "A man told me about Jesus, and that He could heal me; the man laid his hands on me and prayed for me in Jesus’ name . . . and I am healed!" Then the doctor, in simple belief and scientific query, asked the man who had been healed: "Would that happen to the other people here in this hospital?" The man something like, "I think so." So, the doctor asked him to go around and pray for the people in Jesus’ name and lay hands on them. The hospital was emptied. About that time, there was a NEW BREED of young people who simply believed God and went to the hospitals praying for the sick in Jesus’ name. Hospitals were actually closed down because of the number of people who were healed. The NEW BREED is waiting for you . . . and for the NEW APOSTOLIC CHURCH! Baruch haba b'Shem Adonai.
