Kicking off May of 2026 with a perfectly timed episode releasing on May 4th, Emily aka Imagination.Em on Instagram returns to talk Star Wars and Cosplay. May the 4th Be With You! It's been nearly 4 years since Emily was on with her original episode, but we get to catch up and blend two topics together. Star Wars and Cosplay. The first half of the episode definitely leans more Star Wars, as we talk about the shows that have released since 2022. We discuss Skeleton Crew, The Acolyte, and Andor. Emily talks about the experience of attending the Andor Season 2 premiere, and we discuss Andor as it ties into current political situations today. We talk about the upcoming Mandalorian and Grogu movie, and Emily makes her best pitch for what she'd do if Dave Filoni asked her to create a Star Wars property. Then, we're on to Cosplay, as you may know Emily for her viral Moana Fett cosplay from 4 years ago. We talk about how it's been as a Cosplayer, from upgrading her Moana Fett look, to doing Mo Dameron, Mara Jade, joining the Droidsmiths Union, and making a Grogulorian cosplay, to name a few. We talk about her relationship with other cosplayers in the fandom, as well as creators that she works with. Emily also reflects back on her time as a Cosplayer, and we talk about what she could be working on for the future. The Devil Wears Ghorman Twill Four years of Star Wars spy missions have Andor (Diego Luna) ready to ditch the Rebellion with equally traumatized girlfriend Bix (Morbius' Adria Arjona). Can schemer Stellan Skarsgård keep his agents in position like the bugged antiques in his shop until he has all the Death Star intel? And is Mon Mothma too busy throwing her teenage daughter's wedding to notice best friend Jimmy Smits has been replaced by Benjamin Bratt? Listen Now to learn if the Now Playing Podcast hosts get caught in creator Tony Gilroy's Season Two spider web.
Episode 319 SummaryIn this laid-back solo Episode 319, Jhae Pfenning rambles from the Gilbert home studio about Easter at the family house, childhood memories, and what the holiday looks like with grandkids running around. Car life gets real with a double disaster on the way to the Anthem car show — a cracked windshield on the Acura NSX Type S and a drill bit in the tire — plus the fallout from a Turo VW Tiguan rental that turned into a full front-end repair. Jhae also shares why he loves Andor Season 2 so much more than The Mandalorian, reflects on AI tools that actually help with podcast editing vs. the hype, thumbnail psychology, and why staying consistent matters after nearly 7 years of Hard Parking.Timestamps 00:00 – Intro from the home studio in Gilbert, AZ 01:00 – Easter weekend at the house: traditions, family, and grandkid chaos 03:17 – Teaser: Andor Season 2 thoughts + upcoming movie reactions 06:00 – Conspiracy Corner shirt & why the segment needs more love 07:02 – Spark Forge message for business owners 08:00 – Turo fleet stories and the NSX road-trip life 09:32 – The Anthem car show double whammy: windshield crack + tire damage 13:43 – Safelite visit and the VW Tiguan bumper-to-condenser repair saga 16:33 – Deep dive on Andor Season 2: dark espionage, Diego Luna, and why it hits different from The Mandalorian 29:23 – Reaction channels vs. quiet reflection – creator perspective 35:33 – AI for podcasters: the tools that save time vs. generative hype 41:29 – Thumbnail psychology and what you can (and can't) control 44:17 – Wrap-up: upcoming guests, Long Beach Grand Prix, and thank yousContactEmail: info@hardparking.comWebsite: www.hardparking.comPatreon: patreon.com/hardparkingpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/hardparkingpod/YouTube: youtube.com/@HardParking
Do NOT confuse this title for another Caravan of Courage on the Ewok moon Before he was the martyr of Rogue One, Diego Luna was a desperate thief who accidentally lit the spark of the Rebellion in the 2022 series Andor. Is he better off making Death Star parts in prison with Andy Serkis, or facing the consequences of the Imperial robbery he pulled for chameleon Stellan Skarsgård? And can Senator Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) keep footing the bill while Forest Whitaker, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller follow the money? Join rebels Justin, Arnie, and Stuart for the darker side of Star Wars right now!
Hunter and Jessica have finally reached the end of the road with the Andor Season 2 finale, and it's a straight shot right into the events of Rogue One. The hosts break down the claustrophobic Coruscant rescue where a spectacularly lethal K-2SO helps create the ultimate "ISB sandwich," putting a permanent "hurt" on Officer Heurt. Meanwhile, Major Partagaz realizes his tyrannical web has finally collapsed, choosing to ironically listen to Nemik's rebel manifesto one last time before making his dark exit.Back on Yavin 4, Cassian's massive intel dump about the critical phrase "Jedha, Kyber, and Erso" gets a surprisingly underwhelming reaction from Rebel command. The hosts discuss Mon Mothma's tense Zoom call with a paranoid Saw Gerrera, and hilariously debate whether Bail Organa is secretly shopping on Coruscant for metal bikinis—or just practical claw clips—for a teenage Princess Leia. They also marvel at Cassian's miraculously fresh Rogue One haircut and his adorable dedication to watering his plants before heading off on a suicide mission to the Ring of Kafrene.Hunter and Jessica try to hold back tears discussing the emotionally devastating final montage, which features Dedra Meero sporting Narkina 5 prison stripes, Krennic admiring his shiny new Death Star, and Bix hiding out on "fake Lothal" with a very surprising baby Andor. Stick around as the hosts map out their upcoming pod schedule, transitioning from a Rogue One rewatch straight into the highly anticipated April release of the Darth Maul: Shadow Lord series.Join us on Facebook: The Purrgil Pod. This week we take an in depth and spoiler filled look at "Andor Season 2!" The latest Star Wars series on Disney Plus might not be quite as great as Season 1 because it feels like they tried to get too much done in a single season but it still pretty darn good. Listen to our hot takes!
Hunter and Jessica are back to break down the penultimate episode of Andor Season 2, and the tables have officially turned! It's a bad day to be Dedra Meero. The hosts revel in her spectacular fall from grace as she finds herself strapped to an interrogation chair, getting threatened by Director Krennic and a rather intimidating drill. Hunter and Jessica debate if Dedra has essentially become the new Syril Karn, desperately craving validation from superiors who frankly couldn't care less.Meanwhile, Cassian, Melshi, and a wonderfully sassy, parade-boasting K2-SO jump into a U-Wing for a high-stakes rescue mission to Coruscant. The hosts try to decode the capital planet's absurdly complex, 5000-level 3D zip codes, and dissect the tense cliffhanger ending where the rebels and the ISB finally collide at a safe house with radios buried deep in its concrete.Plus, stick around for a quick tangent on Darth Maul's robotic "plastic surgery" ahead of the new Shadow Lord show, and hear Jessica's passionate, survey-fueled campaign to get a wing named after herself at the upcoming Star Wars Saga Museum. This week, in a rare turn for the pod, we head to television. Rivka and Frank are joined again by actor and cultural worker Chris Myers to discuss the widely beloved and much-talked-about series Andor, Season 1. The trio explore what lessons the political left might draw from Tony Gilroy's writing, digging into Cassian Andor's radicalization, the community and culture of Ferrix, Luthen as an accelerationist organizer, and more.
Hunter and Jessica are back to break down the intense pressure of Andor Season 2, Episode 10, "Make it Stop". The timeline has officially jumped to one year before the Battle of Yavin, and poor double-agent Lonnie is absolutely "shook". After being buttered up by a surprisingly gentle Luthen on a very public Coruscant park bench, Lonnie finally delivers the ultimate Rogue One setup, dropping the intel on the Empire's kyber crystal strip-mining operation, Jedha, and a guy named Galen Erso. Sadly, it's RIP for Lonnie, though at least a Dave Filoni-approved Loth cat is the one to find his body. Meanwhile, Dedra Meero smarmily struts into the antique shop thinking she's finally trapped her rebel spy, only to discover Luthen has melted his comms with acid and literally stabbed himself to avoid interrogation. Hunter and Jessica question Luthen's incredibly messy methods, debating whether a Mandalorian-style poison pill would have been a much smarter play. Ultimately, Dedra's solo ambition completely blows up in her face, resulting in her getting arrested and questioned by her very own newly-promoted assistant. But the real MVP of the episode is Kleya. The hosts dissect her tragic backstory of witnessing Imperial executions as a child and her progression into a hardened rebel. In the present timeline, she pulls off a masterclass hospital infiltration by stealing scrubs, hijacking a hovering space-wheelchair, and casually abandoning an elderly alien grandmother to sneak past security. It all leads to a heartbreaking final sequence where Kleya must finish the job, crying as she pulls the plug on Luthen's life support. Plus, stick around for the hosts' quick thoughts on the upcoming Andor comic bridge to Rogue One, Darth Maul's glorious return in Shadow Lord, and the countdown to The Mandalorian and Grogu.Join us on Facebook: The Purrgil Pod. Hunter and Jessica are back to break down what might be the most stressful 24 hours in galactic history. In this episode, the political, militaristic, and underworld factions of the rebellion are finally colliding, and Mon Mothma is officially done playing the polite politician. The hosts dissect her epic, bridge-burning Senate speech where she bravely drops the "M" word—Monster—on Emperor Palpatine right before the ISB literally pulls the plug on the power. Meanwhile, Cassian Andor's retirement plans are once again spectacularly ruined. Despite telling everyone who will listen that he is completely "done," he inevitably ends up playing bodyguard, throwing his gross brown jacket over Mon Mothma's couture to rescue her down a 187-step OSHA nightmare of a staircase. Jessica and Hunter also dive into Luthen's terrifying puppet-master skills, Bix's heartbreaking farewell recording (could there be a baby Andor on the way?), and the highly anticipated boot-up of a certain KX security droid. Plus, stick around for some quick thoughts on The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer and those glorious X-Wing sunset shots.Join us on Facebook: The Purrgil Pod. We are also on Blue Sky and Mastodon. Hunter and Jessica are back to discuss the absolute emotional devastation that was Andor Season 2, Episode 8, "Who Are You?".It's the end of the line for everyone's favorite stalker. The hosts break down Syril Karn's final, crushing moments—where getting punched in the face by Cassian Andor hurts less than realizing your arch-nemesis doesn't even know your name. Talk about an identity crisis.Meanwhile, Dedra Meero is having a really bad day at the office (and by office, we mean a massacre in the town square), and the hosts debate if she's finally regretting those promotions. Jessica and Hunter also discuss the surprisingly convenient origin story of a certain sassy droid (hello, K2!), and why Cassian really needs to stop assembling sniper rifles in hotel windows—we get it, it's a Rogue One callback!Plus, stay tuned for a rant about The Mandalorian Super Bowl commercial and whether Budweiser Clydesdales are now canon in Star Wars.Join us on Facebook: The Purrgil Pod. Episode Overview: Andor Season 2, Episode 7 – "The Messenger"Happy New Year, 2026! Hunter and Jessica are finally back to break down the calm before the storm in Andor Season 2, Episode 7, "The Messenger".In this episode, the Empire is busy staging false flag operations, and Dedra Meero is choking on her ambitions while trying to keep Syril Karn in line. Jessica has some choice words for Dedra's manipulation tactics, describing her farewell to Syril as the "most unpassionate kiss ever"—akin to kissing a "stranger's dog". Meanwhile, on Yavin, a Force healer gets inside Cassian's head (and shoulder), planting the seeds for Bix to realize she might be holding him back from his destiny. Welcome to our sixth annual Hjönse Awards! There were only a couple good contenders for the award this year, but ultimately, as usual, we have come to a consensus. This year we have chosen Andor: Season 1, one of the only good shows to come out of Star Wars in recent history. For those of you who may not know. This award is given to a film or series that we thought was going to be bad, or had little expectation for, but turned out to be great and surprised us in some way.Our Links:Ian WolffeSend us a text

This week on Grumpy Old Geeks, Fyre Festival rises from the ashes yet again—but not as a festival, because even Billy McFarland finally figured out he's better at selling pipe dreams than tents. Meanwhile, Amazon and Microsoft are tapping the brakes on their AI data center dreams, Google's AI keeps confidently explaining made-up nonsense like it's gospel, and Kevin Roose once again tries to convince us to have empathy for the glorified autocomplete machines. (Spoiler: We won't.) Also, OpenAI wants to buy Chrome even though they can barely afford their own lunch tabs, Perplexity says the quiet part loud about stalking your browser habits, and Meta lays off more VR developers while pretending they care about human rights. In the “it's all stupid, but at least it's entertaining” department: Uber gets sued for making it harder to cancel than joining Scientology, Adam Neumann dupes investors again, sperm racing is now a real thing (and yes, there's crypto involved), and Bluesky caves to the almighty blue checkmark. Plus, Affinity Suite reminds us you don't have to sell a kidney to escape Adobe, The Wheel of Time gets an open-world game that'll probably drop after the heat death of the universe, and Wednesday Season 2 is on the way, because Netflix refuses to let its only hits rest.Stick around for The Dark Side with Dave where we grumble about Andor Season 2, lament bad writing decisions, geek out over old-school arcade games, and learn that memory colors are apparently a thing. Oh, and if you're feeling fancy, go ahead and thank ChatGPT for wasting millions in server bills—because if Sam Altman's crying about manners costing money, we're grabbing the popcorn.Sponsors:Insta360 - The first 30 people who use code “gog” at store.insta360.com get a free 45” invisible selfie stick worth $25!DeleteMe - Head over to JoinDeleteMe.com/GOG and use the code "GOG" for 20% off.Private Internet Access - Go to GOG.Show/vpn and sign up today.
