Bengals Fans, can you feel it? The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday to leave no doubt about who the AFC North Champion was for the second straight year. We've done 17 Laps Keys To Bengals Victory but played 16 games after what happened against the Buffalo Bills. Now, all that is behind us, and it's time to start talking about the AFC playoffs as the Bengals welcome back to Paycor Stadium the Ravens for a third matchup this season. We all know John Harbaugh won't have quarterback Lamar Jackson for the game, and there are still some questions if Tyler Huntly or Anthony Brown will take the majority of snaps. Either way, we trust Lou Anarumo to have the defense ready to make key stops like last Sunday. Joe Burrow said it himself, he did not play a great game last weekend, and it's time for Brian Callahan and Zac Taylor to let Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Joe Mixon have explosive performances to earn a playoff win and advance to play another weekend. We've been busy at In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, with press conferences by Taylor and Burrow and exclusive one-on-one interviews with Anarumo and Callahan. ZAC TAYLOR MON PRESS CONFERENCE: https://youtu.be/M1gTzCkbWNI JOE BURROW WED PRESS CONFERENCE: https://youtu.be/4AgleHbGUbQ ZAC TAYLOR WED PRESS CONFERENCE: https://youtu.be/xHXffSXaD6w BRIAN CALLAHAN ONE-ON-ONE: https://youtu.be/isjoZXpSjM8 LOU ANARUMO ONE-ON-ONE: https://youtu.be/y8HhXza1uyg We also welcomed back two former guests as the great Boomer Esiason returned to In The Trenches, and the voice of the Ravens, Gerry Sandusky, provided the latest happenings from the Ravens side. The ties between Dave Lapham In The Trenches and the voice of the Baltimore Ravens, Gerry Sandusky, run deep in the football world. Sandusky's father, John Sandusky, played for Cincinnati Bengals founder and former head coach Paul Brown with the Cleveland Browns. In contrast, Dave Lapham was coached by the elder Sandusky in an all-star game when he came out of Syracuse University before being drafted by Paul Brown and the Bengals in the 1974 NFL Draft. Gerry Sandusky became the radio play-by-play man in 2006 and brings vast knowledge about the 2022 Ravens squad the Bengals will face for a third time this season when the two match up on Sunday night in Wild Card Playoff action in front of a national audience. Don't miss this exclusive one-on-one with Gerry as he returns to In The Trenches, presented by First Star Logistics, to discuss what is happening with Lamar Jackson as the Ravens star quarterback will be out another week. Is Jackson's injury more severe than previously thought? Is Jackson motivated to stay out without a new contract and watch the Ravens sign newly acquired linebacker Roquan Smith to a deal making him the highest-paid off-the-ball linebacker in the NFL? Sandusky gives his thoughts and looks at what fans should expect from both teams in another major AFC North battle with playoff dreams on the line.

Longtime Baltimore Ravens radio play-by-play man Gerry Sandusky returns to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, to give all the details of what Cincinnati Bengals fans should expect when the Bengals head to M&T Stadium for their primetime NFL match-up with Lamar Jackson and the 2022 edition of the Ravens. Sandusky has ties to the Brown family as his father, John Sandusky, played for Paul Brown when he was in charge of the Cleveland Browns in the 1950s. Jackson gets the majority of the attention when talking about the Ravens. However, he's got some weapons, especially tight end Mark Andrews. The defense has always been a staple of the Ravens attack. Nothing has changed with defensive end Calais Campbell leading the way up front and Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey looking to close down the back side to Joe Burrow and the Bengals passing attack.
Very busy Thursday edition of GCR. If the Ravens asked Lamar Jackson to "prove it" next season, why wouldn't he just demand a trade? We discussed that at the start. Near the bottom of Hour 1, our friend Pete Gilbert from WBAL joined us to talk a little Ravens/Steelers and a lot about getting to call his first ever NFL game last week filling in for Gerry Sandusky. Late in Hour 1, we caught up with Maryland Athletic Director Damon Evans to discuss them winning the Pinstripe Bowl, COVID changes at sporting events and the search for their new basketball coach. Early in Hour 2, the great Adalius Thomas joined us to share his Ben Roethlisberger memories (including the first interception the legendary quarterback ever threw). Near the bottom of Hour 2, PressBox's Ken Zalis checked in for a LITTLE fantasy talk then we made our Picks for the week and we wrapped the show by chatting with Baltimore native Summer Britcher about qualifying for her third U.S. Olympic luge team.
EJ Sandusky was the first of six children adopted by Dottie and Gerry Sandusky. EJ and his family were certain that his father could not have committed the crimes of which he was accused but they didn't understand they were no longer living in a world of truth and facts. When Jerry was found guilty EJ was forced to relocate and seek a different career path. Ten years later EJ and his wife Heather are inspired to share their story with Zig. via Knit

Up first, it’s my broadcast partner Dave Lapham. My locker room conversation this week is with wide receiver Auden Tate who had his first NFL touchdown catch last week but as he was quick to point out he probably should have had two. We’ll discuss his catch and his drop. And in this week’s Know the Foe segment we’ll get the lowdown on the Ravens from their long-time radio play by play man Gerry Sandusky.
