In this episode, we reflect on the legacy of Pope Francis. We talk about how, during his Pontificate, Pope Francis emphasized joy and, through his example, helped us remember to embody this joy in our daily lives to bring others into the Church. We also acknowledge how God has used Pope Francis to speak to us through his writings and discuss which of these writings most profoundly impacted us, how we can pray for our next Pope, and share what we think will be his lasting legacy. In this episode, we talk about Pope Francis' Bull of Indiction on the Jubilee Year of Hope! A Jubilee year occurs once every 25 years and it is a year set apart and consecrated just for our Lord. We chat about what it looks like to be pilgrims of hope, especially in the places where we have deep sorrows or unfulfilled desires. We reflect on how we can bring these tender places to our Lord and let them be illuminated, so He can redeem and restore the light of hope in our lives. Keeping our hearts open to hope can be painful and crucifying. But when we enter into this pilgrimage, we are transformed in the light of hope. Everyone longs for peace, especially at Christmas, but true peace in our hearts and homes is going to take more than lighting a scented candle; we need to set our hearts on fire for Jesus. Who better to help us than His Mother, the Queen of Peace? Get ready to open your heart, open your Bible, and let Peace in! Open your Heart to our key Scripture. It'll just be something that I do for myself.” - Sarah Kroger “I felt like God was lovingly tapping me on the shoulder and just saying, ‘Sarah, I gave you this gift not just for yourself. I gave you this for my kingdom. I gave you this gift for my glory. And by you hiding it, it's not doing anyone any favors. So will you step out in faith? Will you say yes to me?'” - Sarah Kroger “In a lot of ways, it's like being being able to create spaces where people feel safe enough to come to God just as they are, and feel safe enough to bring their questions and whatever they're walking through into a worship set, into a session that we're having, into whatever it is that we're doing, to be able to foster that kind of environment through music.” - Sarah Kroger “If we can't be brutally honest with God, then who can we be honest with?” - Sarah Kroger “We are never alone. He says, ‘I am with you always.' That's a promise of God, even in the midst of the darkness.” - Sarah Kroger “My life has been much happier ever since I've decided to just go all in on the way God made me and just live in pure creativity, both in my personal life and in my professional life.” - Clare McCallan “Everybody wants the product, nobody wants the process. We serve a God born in a manger. Humble beginnings are not a bad thing.” - Clare McCallan “God has equipped you with a unique set of gifts and a power for prolific love to create things that will change your world, the world around you, and the world as a whole. And your gifts as a craftsman, your ability to create, has the power to save souls around you. Your witness matters. On today's episode, we chat with 2 time guest, Sarah Kroger! Sarah Kroger is a GMA Dove Award®-nominated artist, songwriter, and worship leader. With her previously released albums Your Time 2011 , Hallelujah Is Our Song 2013 , Bloom 2019 , Light 2020 , and London Sessions 2023 , her latest project, A New Reality, is out May 17, 2024 (Integrity Music). With parents involved in worship ministry, Kroger's love for music was sparked at a young age, but the impact of bullying coupled with her struggle with anxiety and shyness hid her musical talents for years. Everything changed when she met Jesus in an intimate encounter through worship at a youth conference; “Worship became my language with God,” she says. “It allowed me to communicate with the Lord in a way I hadn't experienced before...it opened my heart.”Realizing music was a gift she desired to give back to the Lord, she began leading worshiparound the world, drawing people from a variety of cultures and church backgrounds under the banner of Jesus. With a passion for creating a safe and prayerful space through her music, her focus has always beenan authentic portrayal of her relationship with God.Now with the songs found on A New Reality, she is oering her most deeply personal and introspective yet, showcasing vulnerability, questioning, doubt, mystery, and belief. She hopes that listeners will come away knowing that it's ok to question, to pull on the string and enable the unraveling to happen, knowing there is One who is gently mending the tangled threads back together into a beautiful, reconstructed tapestry.“I hope people hear the faith in this record along with the wrestling. I hope people feel encouraged to bring their imperfect, questioning, doubting selves to God,” she shares. “I want people to be reminded of the beauty of His presence in the world. He's more real than we can comprehend. The truth this project continues to reveal to me is that despite the ups and downs of life, I can choose to believe that I'm still His.” sarahkroger.com @skroger christianmusicguys.com @christianmusicguys --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/christianmusicguys/message

In our final episode of Season 12, we dive deep into how the Lord has been working in our lives since we began the season in January. We acknowledge how easy it is to get caught up in the struggles of life and forget to take time to stop, pause, and remember the blessings we have received. We open up about the seeds the Lord has planted in our hearts, the areas in our lives He is re-awakening, and the spiritual fruit we have seen blossoming. Through our vulnerability, we hope you are inspired this summer to reflect on how the Lord has been working in your life and share it with someone you're close to. Friends, we have enjoyed every moment of season 12 and are excited for where the Lord takes us next. Thank you for being on this journey of life with us. We hope you join us for our summer study that begins July 17 and our next season beginning in September.
