In this episode of 'Extraordinary Living with Bill and Roger,' the focus is on finding peace and guidance through obedience to God, even in troubled times. The topic is introduced through a review of Judges chapter 6 from both the NIV and New King James versions of the Bible. Roger shares a deeply moving message about the importance of crying out to the Lord when you are desperate and trusting that He will answer, regardless of past mistakes. He underscores that getting off track is inevitable, but staying there is not necessary. Roger encourages you to recognize your identity as children of God and stresses the importance of obedience, even when it requires courage. Through personal stories, including his experiences raising children on a farm, Roger illustrates the significance of being both willing and obedient to God's call. Practical steps are explained, such as tearing down idols, confronting the problems, and realigning with God's plan. Finally, the episode ends with an invitation to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Welcome to Day 2482 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 28:1-9 Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2482 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2482 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.. In today's Wisdom Nugget, we continue our journey through the Psalms. We've reached Psalm 28, a powerful prayer and declaration by David that teaches us about seeking God's help in times of trouble and recognizing His role as our protector and strength. In Psalm 28, David turns to the Lord in a moment of deep need, pleading for God's mercy and intervention. As we walk through these verses, we'll see David's heartfelt cry for help, his trust in God's deliverance, and his praise for the Lord's faithfulness. Let's read through Psalm 28:1-9 from the New Living Translation together: Psalm 28:1-9 (NLT): 1 I pray to You, O Lord, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if You are silent, I might as well give up and die. 2 Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to You for help, as I lift my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. 3 Do not drag me away with the wicked— with those who do evil— those who speak friendly words to their neighbors while planning evil in their hearts. 4 Give them the punishment they so richly deserve! Measure it out in proportion to their wickedness; pay them back for all their evil deeds. Give them a taste of what they have done to others. 5 They care nothing for what the Lord has done or for what His hands have made. So He will tear them down, and they will never be rebuilt! 6 Praise the Lord! For He has heard my cry for mercy. 7 The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. 8 The Lord gives His people strength. He is a safe fortress for His anointed king. 9 Save Your people! Bless Israel, Your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in Your arms forever. Crying Out in Desperation (Verses 1-2): In the opening two verses of Psalm 28, David begins with a cry of desperation: “I pray to You, O Lord, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if You are silent, I might as well give up and die.” David's words here reveal his deep dependence on God. He refers to the Lord as his “rock,” which symbolizes a place of stability, safety, and refuge. Yet, despite this confidence in God's role as his protector, David is experiencing a moment of intense need. He fears what might happen if God does not respond to him. This is a powerful reminder that even those with strong faith, like David, experience moments of fear and desperation. It's not that David doubts God's power or goodness, but the intensity of his circumstances makes him feel as though God's silence would be unbearable. In verse 2, David continues: “Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to You for help, as I lift my...
Psalm 142 is a prayer of David, expressing deep distress and seeking God's help during a time of trouble. It is often titled “A Maskil of David. When he was in the cave,” indicating it was written when David was hiding from King Saul, who was seeking to kill him. Key Themes of Psalm 142: 1.Crying Out to God: In this psalm, David begins by crying out to the Lord, seeking His mercy and intervention. The first verse reflects a raw and vulnerable emotional state: “I cry aloud to the Lord; I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.” David is not merely praying quietly; his cries are desperate, highlighting the intensity of his need. 2.Total Dependence on God: David recognizes that no one else can help him in his time of need. He feels isolated, abandoned, and without human support, yet he places his trust entirely in the Lord: “Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.” This passage reflects David's recognition that only God can truly deliver him. 3.Despair and Persecution: David is in a state of despair, likely caused by the relentless pursuit of King Saul. His enemies have overwhelmed him, and he feels trapped, as if they have set a snare for him: “In the path where I walk, people have hidden a snare for me.” The imagery here shows how dangerous and desperate his situation is, with enemies laying traps in his path. 4.Seeking Deliverance: Despite his feelings of abandonment, David holds on to hope and seeks deliverance from God. He prays not just for rescue but also for God to lead him out of his current predicament so that he can once again give thanks and praise: “Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name.” David's ultimate goal is to glorify God even in the midst of his trial. 5.Anticipation of Future Restoration: The psalm ends with David expressing hope that once God delivers him, the righteous will gather around him, a sign that he will be restored to community and fellowship: “Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.” Reflection: Psalm 142 teaches us about the importance of turning to God in moments of distress and despair. David's honesty before God is a reminder that we can bring all our troubles and fears before the Lord, no matter how overwhelming they may seem. It also encourages faith that even in the darkest times, God hears, cares, and has the power to deliver us. This psalm can be a source of comfort for anyone feeling trapped, alone, or abandoned, reminding them that God is a refuge and ever-present help in times of trouble.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

Reflection on Psalm 77 Psalm 77 is a profound and emotive piece of scripture that delves into the depths of human despair, questioning, and ultimately, faith in God. This psalm, attributed to Asaph, captures a journey from anguish to remembrance and hope. It resonates deeply with anyone who has faced times of trouble and sought solace in their faith. Verses 1-3: Crying Out to God The psalm begins with a desperate cry to God: “I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me. When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted. I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint.” (Psalm 77:1-3, NIV) These verses capture the raw emotion of someone in deep distress, seeking God's intervention. The psalmist is relentless in his prayer, stretching out his hands without tiring, yet finding no immediate comfort. This reflects the often painful reality that even in earnest prayer, comfort may not come instantly. Verses 4-9: Questioning and Doubt As the psalm progresses, the psalmist's anguish leads to questioning: “You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. I thought about the former days, the years of long ago; I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked: ‘Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again? Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?'” (Psalm 77:4-9, NIV) These verses highlight a period of intense doubt and reflection. The psalmist recalls the past, when things were better, and contrasts it with his current state of despair. The questions posed are poignant and raw, reflecting a crisis of faith. Has God abandoned him? Are God's promises no longer valid? Verses 10-15: Turning to Remembrance In the midst of his despair, the psalmist makes a pivotal shift: “Then I thought, ‘To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand. I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.'” (Psalm 77:10-12, NIV) Here, the psalmist consciously decides to remember God's past deeds. This act of remembrance becomes a source of strength and hope. By recalling the miracles and mighty deeds of God, the psalmist begins to shift his focus from his immediate troubles to the larger narrative of God's faithfulness. Verses 16-20: Affirmation of God's Power The psalm concludes with a powerful affirmation of God's might and sovereignty: “The waters saw you, God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed. The clouds poured down water, the heavens resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth. Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked. Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.” (Psalm 77:16-20, NIV) These verses vividly describe God's power over nature and history. They recall the Exodus, when God led His people through the Red Sea, displaying His dominion over the elements and His care for His people. This remembrance serves to reaffirm the psalmist's faith in God's continued presence and power. Conclusion Psalm 77 is a powerful testament to the human experience of despair and the journey towards renewed faith. It encourages believers to honestly express their anguish and doubts to God, and to find solace in remembering His past faithfulness. I met Dave Harrell while I was a student at BYU Idaho. Similar to Bob Morley, he stood out to me from the get-go as a good man that I would be wise to learn from and trust. Taking Dave's Spreadsheet Analysis class my last semester was tough, but it was the best thing for me.In this interview, we dove into some of Dave's career struggles, learning to trust God's timing, and SO much more. This was a wonderful conversation that needed to happen for sure. SHOW NOTES In Podcast Episode 229, “The Privilege of Crying Out to the Lord,” Kim discusses the importance of reflecting on the divine privilege of having the ear of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Our focal passage for this episode is 2 Samuel 22:31-51 with the focal verse of 42: “They looked for help, but no one came to their rescue. They even cried to the Lord, but he refused to answer.” WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT FEATURE: Take a few moments to contemplate what it would be like to know the Lord would not listen when you cry. Additional Resources and Scriptures: The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. (Ps. 34:17) 1 I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. 3 He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. As Christians, it is easy for us to come to God only when we want to escape the consequences of our sin, rather than coming to Him with a genuinely broken heart of repentance. Aaron reminds us that a true desire for repentance and change must come from a deep sense of sorrow for our sin and a recognition of the ways in which it has hurt God and others. The GoodLion Podcast is excited to bring you an episode featuring content that was left on the cutting room floor of Aaron Salvato's recent sermon titled "Crying Out to the Father." In this powerful message, Aaron shares about the importance of having a broken heart for our sin. In this episode, Aaron also discusses how having a broken heart for our sin is essential for our spiritual growth and intimacy with God. He encourages us to be honest with God about our sin, and to trust in His forgiveness and grace. Additionally, Aaron shares some personal experiences that illustrate the need for a broken heart for our sin. He challenges us to take a hard look at our own hearts and to seek God's help in breaking them for our sin. Overall, this bonus episode of the GoodLion Podcast is a powerful reminder of the importance of a broken heart for our sin and the transformative power of repentance. We hope that it will inspire and encourage you on your own spiritual journey.
As we prepare for the much anticipated Cry Out Conference the mastermind behind the movement Pastor Keion Henderson Sr Pastor at the Lighthouse church in Houston, TX stopped by the Still Saved Show to share the inspiration behind it all! In addition to dissecting certain Biblical narratives highlighting characters Crying Out, Pastor Keion's vulnerably shared stories where he found himself crying out to God for hope, healing, and deliverance! This was one of the realest dialogues I've had the privilege of being apart of! No lofty super spiritual abstract theory, just straight up, practical, step-by-step advice and ugly experiences that led to crying out to a God that is faithful to deliver! The diversity of topics addressed during our time together covered things such as depression and anxiety, overcoming obstacles and challenges, wealth and financial freedom, stock trading, marriage/divorce... which is incredibly indicative of the vastness of content we should expect from the 2023 Cry Out Conference. Mark 10:46-52 And they came to Jericho. And as He was going out from Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road. And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” And many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take Courage, Arise! HE IS CALLING FOR YOU.” And casting aside his cloak, ..he jumped up, and came to Jesus. And answering him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabbi, I want to regain my sight!” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road. Note the difference between Religion and Jesus: Bartimaeus' cries irritated the people, but not Jesus. And Jesus Passed through Jericho — He walked in and walked out without anyone stopping Him, not one reported miraculous encounter until Bartimaeus cried out... ----more---- Could Jesus walk through your house like He walked through Jericho? Your community? Your Church? The fact is many people live in Jericho homes and attend Jericho Churches. Jesus regularly passes through Jericho Churches unstopped. His Presence passes through the service with no encounters, because no one's crying out! They're satisfied with coming to church without coming to Jesus. Our churches must become more than an institution that helps us live in this world (Like a garnish or side salad to life). Church must get back to being the place where you Cry Out to Jesus, and He stops the service and Calls For YOU to come to Him! To stop Jesus from walking in, and walking out of Jericho Churches, w/o a Bartimaeus encounter, pastors need to stand up and announce: “We've prepared a service for you today But if you want Jesus you'll have to CRY OUT for Him.” Jesus LOVES the Broken people by the roadside because Jericho's not enough for them. O How He yearns for US to cry out to Him. He's passing by the all the Satisfied People. But if you're Bartimaeus, Crying Out to Jesus then Jesus has stopped and He's Calling For You! GOD has always loved the broken for whom the sinful world is no home. Jesus said, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…to preach the gospel to the poor…to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (Luke 4:18) Jesus is attracted to the Brokenhearted, the Captives and the Bruised who Cry Out to Him. Those for whom life has no more time, no answers, and no help. If you've set yourself on fire, used up your last Get Out Of Jail Free card, and the world has no more sympathy for you, Cry Out to Jesus, and Take Courage, Arise! HE IS CALLING FOR YOU. If you're a believer who's fallen out of church, and think you've used up your Do-Overs, Cry Out to Jesus, and Take Courage, Arise! HE IS CALLING FOR YOU. Churches use winners, achievers, strong and beautiful people, who don't need much work to attract people to Jesus. And it seldom works. But someone who's clinging to the grace of Jesus will always attract the lost because they see GOD's hope in them. GOD's Love for the Lost is what our world needs today! “Take Courage, Arise! HE IS CALLING FOR YOU.”

The Gospel today proves that Jesus does not give up on anyone! The Blind Man and Zacchaeus (the tax collector) did not fall into this trap of self-judgment and shame – but MADE THEMSELVES VISIBLE The Blind Man kept CRYING OUT… even when people were shutting him down! Zacchaeus the tax collector was hated and blocked from seeing Jesus… but he climbed a tree! For Jesus, to be blind does not just mean physically… but also spiritually. To SEE A PERSON is to Love a Person. In this culture… there is a destruction in the way we SEE people. This is a LUST-FILLED Culture This is a pornographic culture that teaches us to see people for their bodies, not for their souls. Pornography BLINDS us from seeing the person as they are! When you look at porn, you don't see more of the person, YOU SEE LESS Whenever you are looking at someone as an OBJECT – you are USING them, and NOT LOVING them. Boys (not men) – when you look at a woman as an object – You are Blind – You don't see her as a daughter of the Father. Girls (not women) – when you look at a man as an object – You are Blind – You don't' see him as a son of the Father. Statistics on Porn Use 1. Average age of first Internet exposure to pornography: 11 years old 2. More than 70% of men from 18 to 34 visit a pornographic site in a typical month 3. 53% of boys and 28% of girls (12 to 15) reported use of sexually explicit content 4. 20% of kids reported that they have engaged in some sort of sexting 5. In 2008, Roughly two-thirds (67%) of young men & one-half (49%) of young women agree that viewing pornography is acceptable. Jesus says in the beatitudes “Blessed are the pure of heart, for THEY SHALL SEE GOD” Covenant Eyes - Internet Accountability

Today we’re tackling that oh so sneaky, sneezy foe, seasonal allergies. Now more than ever it’s vital to be able to distinguish between allergies and other respiratory ailments. The likelihood of children contracting COVID-19 is extremely low, nevertheless, monitoring allergies and other symptoms ensures that your children stay as healthy as possible. Virtually unheard of until the 20th century, allergies have steadily increased as civilization has become more industrialized, and, by extension, more removed from the outdoors. The lack of exposure to bacteria and pollen from an early age actually makes it more difficult for the immune system to properly identify common pollen from a true threat. While this may sound impossible to regulate, have no fear. There are indeed many ways to mitigate allergic response, and even prevent allergies altogether. Through the “spilling” of her own honest and vulnerable stories, she’s learned that no story is too unsafe, no past is too awful, no heartache is too great that God’s grace can’t cover, recover, and heal. Sarah is the author of several books, including The Complicated Heart: Loving Even When It Hurts, Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe (with Sally Clarkson), and the Bible study, Psalm 40: Crying Out to the God Who Delights to Rescue Us. Crying Out to LORD- Fear of God
A Spontaneous Prophetic Song/Word From the Lord By the Holy Spirit & Mary Lindow Dear Listener/Reader, As I was praying and worshiping the Lord tonight, crying out from my heart over so many devastating world events, tragedies, (and my own personal trials,) the weight of the glory of the Lord’s presence overshadowed my heart and the following spontaneous music and prophetic word/song, began to flow out from the Heart of God. It’s raw, unedited and timely. Please…. Listen to His Message. Take time to hear Him. "LISTEN AS I SPEAK A WORD OF PROMISE! IT COMES FROM THE THRESHING FLOOR" © A Spontaneous Prophetic Song/Word From the Lord By the Holy Spirit & Mary Lindow I hear the cry of everyone weary and worn. I hear the cry of those saying they're done. Done! I hear the questions of all of the earth saying, “Why? Oh why, oh Why?” “Why won’t your do something? Change the world!!” I hear the sound of the hearts of the weary, I hear the sounds of their sighs I hear the sound of the Mothers and Fathers I hear their crying out! I HEAR them! Crying OUT! I hear the sound of the abundance of rain, I hear the hearts of that right in this season. I hear the hearts and I hear the voices of those, who want to Reason away the truths that I have written down with My Blood. I DO NOT CHANGE! I WILL NOT CHANGE FOR MAN! I WILL NOT CHANGE… FOR MAN! Listen as I speak, A Word of Promise Cloaked in the truth for those who have ears to hear. The times, they will grow much darker and harder, Many will shed, so many tears Until they give away, their very souls to me ALL to Me. And say, “I’m Done with Me! God! I’m done with me!” I Long to hear the voice of My People saying, “Have Your Way! “Have Your Way! “Have Your Way!” Distractions and things of the earth, they will come in a flood! And you’ll battle your soul! Distractions and lies, and people and blood will come, to weary the soul. You must bow low, again. You must bow low, again! And see that I am only found On the threshing floor. I am only found, when you close the door to the worldly cries and sighs, And things you’re told that’s freeing. I long for a Voice for Me… …That comes from the Threshing floor Come to that place, in your heart again Where I have no closed ……doors Heaven’s Calling! Heaven’s Calling! Heaven’s Voice is Calling…. To You! “Come Back Again! Come Back Again! “There’s a price, for separation! There’s a price, for consecration! If you want me to move, if you want Me to flow, If your want more of Me, then things have to go! When the chaff, is separated from grain, It’s done, on the threshing floor. Done on the threshing floor.” Come! Come back! Come back to the clean place, where the strife, Where the grind, where the fighting is released. Come again… …To the Threshing Floor.” Duplication and sharing of this writing/music is welcomed, as long as the complete message and all websites and information for Mary Lindow is included.
