“Awakening the Inner Light: To walk the path of the soul” with Charlie Siegel Has life become too heavy? Has the path you walk become scattered with obstacles and littered with struggles? Let this book give you wings, to help you rise above. Awakening the Inner Light is here to help. Written by bestselling author Charlie Siegel, this book is about changing the way you think. When life's path becomes difficult, and it feels like your heart has been tread upon, this book is designed to renew your inner strength; to help flowers bloom in the saddest parts of you. This book is designed to bring forth the inherent goodness and immutable awesomeness that is YOU. Filled with over 150 original inspiring poems and short stories, each themed with a soothing photograph in color, this book can be read from front to back, or simply opened to a page and enjoyed at random. NY Times Bestselling Author Dr. Bernie Siegel (the paternal grandfather and previous co-author of Charlie Siegel) shares about this book, “What Charlie has put in his book is the truth and I can't stop being stimulated by it. Charlie is speaking the truth about what makes a difference in people's lives. They start doing what is their authentic choice and not what is imposed upon them by others. They change their body chemistry when they do that and become their own authentic self; no longer living a life imposed upon them. What Charlie has put together are the essential healing ingredients we all need to be aware of and practice. Charlie has always been ahead of his time with his awareness and inner wisdom, and his desire to share them with others and help them to thrive is the kind of person he is.” Awakening the Inner Light comes in with a broom and a smile, to clear away the doldrums and shake out the sadness. Not only imparting joy or teaching a spiritual outlook, this book is designed to awaken the ability within you to perceive your own greatness. It is designed to help you find that there is a glowing place of peace and strength living right there, within your heart. Filled with timeless spiritual concepts that are being presented in a new and original way, this book is made to be a healing tool. As the author shares, “I have heard that spiritual teachings come around in each age, to be presented to the people in a way that is accessible and helpful for them. I dream of being a piece of this process, to share the spiritual lessons I have been given in fun, enlightening, and entertaining ways, to bring all people in touch with the greatness inside them. When we all remember the peaceful power of our own soul, and that we are all a piece of something greater than us (in nature and in the Universe), we can come to live in harmony – with ourselves, and with others.” Charlie Siegel has always been inspired by the great Rumi's poetry and the way he cracks open our perceptions of the world which had been harmful to us, to uncover a Light and inspiration underneath. Reading it is like breaking free from a wall that was limiting our view of the Light in the world. As such, the works of Charlie Siegel often express an inherent “awakening” quality, which take the reader on an uplifting and healing journey. Others are written with an ode-sense, honoring nature and all it has to teach us. Other pieces include short quotes or multi-page stories, all with the purpose of helping the reader to feel better. His first book “Conversations with an Angel: A story of healing through the passageways of grief” was released in 2017 and his second book, “When You Realize How Perfect Everything Is”, which is co-authored with his grandfather, NY Times Bestselling Author Dr. Bernie Siegel, was released in 2020. His third book, “To Become a Living Art: The life story of Roy Shingen Goldberg Sensei” was released in 2022, with the Revised Edition being released 1 year later in 2023. Charlie is also a professional fine art nature, wildlife and landscape photographer, and has featured a few images of his work of the northern lights over Iceland on the cover and some of the final pages within his first book, as well as fully illustrated his second with a variety of his photographs. Some of his images from Japan are also featured in “To Become a Living Art.” His photography is available and visible on social media (Facebook and Instagram) by searching @NaturePhotobySC and can be purchased in a variety of prints and merchandise on his website www.NaturePhotobySC.com He can be contacted directly on there to ask questions or to discuss anything in regards to his works. His social media focused on his written works is @AuthorCharlieSiegel on Facebook and Instagram. Charlie was raised in a spiritual environment, honoring nature and respecting the Universe. This expresses itself in his writing, where he blends fantastical experiences with everyday life, to help people to find the magic and inspiration surrounding them and within themselves. Charlie has also been training in the martial arts since he was 4 years old and shares through the life story of his teacher how one can find success through passion, heart, grit and determination. He shows how the martial arts can transcend self-defense and become a powerful vehicle to learn to connect within yourself and with the world around you. With a background in inspirational poetry, his work often has a soothing flow to it, with a use of original and descriptive metaphors that paint a picture for the reader, not only of the scene involved, but of the meaning therein. His works are often archetypal, designed to connect with issues or struggles many may experience, and offer help and guidance to work through it and learn the lessons life can teach us, efficiently and effectively, while allowing you to get lost in the story at the same time. He hopes you find his work to be comforting and healing and invites you to explore his photography pages on social media to further see his works to uplift the soul and spread The Light. Hey, pals. Ferris here. We're not exactly back, but we will be soon. This week, I tell you what's in the immediate future for the podcast. And I tell you about the massive, new, revised, expanded version of the book. Long story short... 1) Next week, I'm seeing the Kerry King band play headlining show. Then I'll drop an episode about it. 2) And shortly after that, we'll be back, with new additions to the book. 3) I TOTALLY (mostly) revised the book that I read from here, Slayer 66 2/3: A Metal Band Biography... or, How F*kin' Slayer Kicked F*ckin' Ass. Now it's a lot bigger. It has a lot more photos. And it is easier to read. I tell you all about it in the episode. The book is thoroughly expanded, and it is not optional. If you want to buy an autographed copy directly from me, reach out, and we can do that. Directions for that option are in the episode. The new 4th edition of Slayer 66 2/3: A Metal Band Biography... is available in four forms. Here's what they are, with links to them. They are at a reduced price for a limited time: $9.99 (ebook), $19.66 (short version), $26.66 (uncut ALL version), and $36.66 (oversize coffee table edition). 1) The Uncut Standard Version: It is... Paperback, 6x9”, 639 pages, includes a full index and works cited / bibliography section, plus annotated endnotes (with new Easter eggs), and 60 black & white photos & 11 illustrations.  500 pages of story, plus 100 pages of reference material. I'm not f*cking around. This one is the peak, biggest, All-est version of the current edition, with the most pages and photos. It has all the material from the previous versions, and then A WHOLE METRIC SH*T-TON MORE. The works cited is a trendy thing: It's one big list of all the different items I used in my research -- articles, videos, books, everything. GET IT HERE: https://www.amazon.com/Slayer-66-Biography-Post-Reunion-RE-REMASTERED/dp/B0DS6B1WFD/ 2) The Oversize Version. This monster paperback is 8.5x11”, 580 pages, and larger type. The format has size limits, so omits the works cited section and a few of the less awesome photos. It includes 50 b&w photos. The full real content is there. The only real difference is the works cited... and all that info is in the endnotes / citations amyway. GET IT HERE: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0997597992 3) The ebook has no index, but features two additional appendices and mostly color photos. Like we said, if you can deal with the zip files and downloading, I'll give you that free. GET IT HERE: https://www.amazon.com/Slayer-66-Biography-POST-REUNION-RE-REMASTERED-ebook/dp/B0DRYXQ36T ALSO... 4) The paperback 6x9” Long Story Short… and Cheaper Version runs 400 pages. It has full research citations, and most b&w photos, but no appendices, index or standalone redundant works cited section. Some people want to read a book, but they'll [gripe] about the book being too long; I guess they're still afraid their 80 year old English teacher Mrs. McGinty is gonna smack 'em on the ear if they skim around or skip some pages. This Short & Cheap version cuts a lot of important historical context and commentary. And it concentrates on the Slayer story as it unfolds. It's missing a ton of good stuff. But, hey, it's your money and time. Do what you will. I get it. GET IT HERE: https://www.amazon.com/Slayer-66-Biography-Post-Reunion-RE-REMASTERED/dp/B0DSW6R9BS As mentioned in the show, for future updates of the book, these are the survey links: 1) The Slaytanic Survey (Round 2): Please tell us about your favorite songs and albums. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7YRH76S 2) The OTHER Slayantic Survey (Round 1): Who is Slayer's MVP? What was their best tour? Do you see the reunion coming? What's your LEAST favorite record? And...? Tell us here. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/S9729MV WE WILL TALK MORE SOON. Gratitude. -- DXF

OneLife Nashville: Rare but vital conversations about Jesus

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 19, 2024 22:06

In this episode, we dive into the scene in Matthew 22:41-46, where Jesus poses a question to the Pharisees that challenges their understanding of the Messiah. Asking, "Whose son is the Christ?" Jesus draws attention to their incomplete view of the Messiah as merely the Son of David. By referencing Psalm 110:1, where David calls the Messiah "Lord," Jesus reveals a deeper truth about the identity and mission of the Christ—one that the Pharisees had failed to grasp. Far from deconstructing the idea that the Messiah is the Son of David, Jesus exposes the Pharisees' shallow and inaccurate understanding of what that truly means. Their expectation of a conquering warrior king who would crush Israel's enemies through military might was shaped by a selective view of David's life, emphasizing his victories while neglecting his suffering and rejection. Jesus, however, understood his own identity as the Son of David in a fuller sense. He walked not only in the footsteps of David's triumphs but also in the path of David's suffering and rejection—fleeing from Saul and enduring betrayal by Absalom. The brillilance of Jesus' question and response to the Pharisees is that it creates room for a broader, much larger point of reference for what the Messianic profile entails - both suffering and victory. Yet, this path of suffering was not devoid of battle. Jesus engaged in a profound struggle, not against the external enemies of soldiers and swords, but against his own flesh and human nature. Like David resisting the temptation to kill Saul and take the throne by force, Jesus faced the temptation to choose a self-centered path free from suffering and death. His internal battle was a struggle to remain faithful to God's mission, overcoming evil not through violence, but by refusing to let it provoke him into a violent response—even in the agony of his trial and crucifixion. We conclude by exploring how Jesus' understanding of the Messiah as both a suffering servant and a conquering king reshapes what it means for Jesus to walk in the footsteps of David. By choosing the non-violent path of suffering love, Jesus demonstrates that the true victory over evil—a victory not of force, but of faithful obedience to God - must first take place internally. This challenges us to reevaluate our own understanding of what it means to follow the Messiah and to trust in the power of God's redemptive plan. The story of self-made millionaire Tony Quinn is fairly well-known, but there's more to the tale. Quinn made his fortune through pet food and confectionary but is a keen motorsport driver and the visionary behind Highlands Motorsport Park in Central Otago. Originally released in 2016, his book ‘Zero to 60' is getting a facelift, ‘Zero to 60 and Beyond' sharing new stories in ten new chapters. Quinn told Mike Hosking he was inspired to write down his life story by his grandfather. “My Grandfather, who was Irish, got involved in the IRA when he was a young fella, and he had a fantastic, interesting life,” he said. “And when he died, there was nothing written down. And so there was no official record, if you like, of his life.” Quinn's book started off as a personal project, a record for future generations as opposed to an official biography. “I was just gonna write my story so that the generations behind me could read all about why I did the things that I did, and that's how it started.” It wasn't until he found a freelance author to write his story out properly that the idea of publishing it came into being. “One thing led to another,” he said. ‘Zero to 60' became a number one best seller in New Zealand, flying off the shelves and going through several reprints, and after seven years, Quinn decided to revise it. “There has been so much happened in the last seven years." Art historian and Professor Griselda Pollock traces the memories of contemporary artist women like Sutapa Biswas, one of her students in the 1980s, and the entanglements in feminist, queer, and postcolonial thinking in art schools and universities. Griselda Pollock has long advocated for the critical function of contemporary art - and artists - in society. Whether paintings, drawings, or sculptures, these media can translate the traumatic legacies of colonialism, imperialism, and migration into visual form, and serve as refusals to forget - especially in our memory-effacing digital age. Born in apartheid South Africa, Griselda has lectured in global contexts; at the University of Leeds in the 1980s, she encountered Sutapa Biswas, a ‘force of nature' and one of the institution's first POC art students. She shares her experience of the two-way flows of teaching and learning. Drawing on stills from the artist's new film work Lumen (2021), and historic ‘Housewives with Steak-Knives' (1984-1985), she highlights both Bengali Indian imagery, and motifs of 17th and 18th century Old/Dutch Masters like Vermeer and Rembrandt - and why the artist ‘didn't need Artemisia Gentileschi' when she had the Hindu goddess Kali. Engaging with leaders of the Blk Art Group like Lubaina Himid, Sonia Boyce, and Claudette Johnson, we find connections with the first generation of British artists, born in the UK of migrant parents. Griselda also shares the important work of art historians and academics beyond Western/Europe, like Homi K. Bhabha, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Chandra Mohanty, Catherine de Zegher, and Hiroko Hagewara. We discuss how being open to challenge and conversation, unsettling your own assumptions, denormalising and widening visibility are all ongoing obligations. Still, with Coral Woodbury's paintings, layered atop H.W. Jansen's History of Art (1968), we see how little the education system has changed. Griselda concludes with thoughts on Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, and challenging the norms of modernist colonial tourism within the confines of free speech and market demand. But we always like to give the guests an opportunity to share in their own words a little bit about your journey, in your words, how you got to where you are today. •  Now Scaling Up, can you tell our listeners, what Scaling Up is, maybe three or four critical things that if as a business you want to scale up you need to have in place. •  What has been your experience in scaling a business, let's say you were an organisation with let's say, 10 employees, and you've finished in the course of 12 months, you've now grown to an organisation with 100 employees. •  In terms of customer experience, you as a customer, what are three things that you look for to ensure that you're being satisfied as a customer, that your needs are being met? •  Now, Herb, could you also share with us what's the one online resource, tool, website or app that you absolutely cannot live without in your business? •  Could you also share with our listeners if you read any books recently, actually, it could be a book that you read a very long time ago, but a book that has had or books that have had a great impact on you? Do you have any of those? •  And so, could you share with us in terms of the recruitment process from a HR perspective, what are some key, would it be a question that you need to ask them that would align you in that phase? •  Could you also share with us what's the one thing that's going on in your life right now that you're really excited about? Either something you're working on to develop yourself or your people. •  Where can listeners find you online? •  Now, before we wrap our episodes up herb, we always like to ask our guests do you have a quote or a saying that during times of adversity or challenge you will tend to revert to this quote if for any reason you felt derailed or rundown, this quote kind of helps to get you back on track. Highlights Herb's Journey Herb shared that he was very fortunate to be raised in a family business where his mother and father incorporated not only raising a family on good values but incorporated what were the challenges in running and growing a business. And as he grew up, and then ultimately went into the business, their business had years of success. And then the industry became more competitive, more commoditized and their growth started to stagnate. As a result of that, they wanted to grow further. They worked hard, they were smart people, but they got stuck.  And they came across the book called Scaling Up: How a Few Companies Make It…and Why the Rest Don't (Rockefeller Habits 2.0 Revised Edition) by Verne Harnish. And it's really a playbook for small mid-market companies that don't have a team of MBAs working on their staff, but still need to navigate a very fast changing marketplace. And that book really changed his life about knowing how to grow a company by asking the right questions and working with the right tools to do it.  As a result of that, they scaled, got the accomplishments that you so nicely commented on. And then as a result of that, they exited their companies in 2018. He had an incredible business coach that was so helpful. Him and his father were incredible mentors. And then he knew that he was meant to be a coach and help others using the scaling up methodology to achieve their company's vision and potential.    What is Scaling Up? Me: Now Scaling Up, can you tell our listeners, what Scaling Up is, maybe three or four critical things that if as a business you want to scale up you need to have in place. Herb shared that one of the challenges in growing your business is that you don't know what you don't know. So, if you're a $2 Million Dollar company, you don't know what it's like to be a $10 Million Dollar company.  And things change because you're hiring more people, you're onboarding more customers, you're offering more in different products, you may have different or multiple locations and the complexity compounds, and then makes it very hard for the original owner to command and make decisions as your workforce grows from 2 to 20, to 2000 people.   And for many of us, we plateau, because we don't know how to handle the next level complexity, Scaling Up was a framework that helped them navigate it. And it's based upon four primary decisions that you need to get right around people, strategy, execution, and cash. And when you understand how to use those techniques in the four areas, it will then help you navigate the next stage of your growth and that's ultimately what they did.   Experience in Scaling a Business – Keeping a Culture That is Customer Focused Me: So, a big part of Scaling Up has to do with people and culture and customer experience starts from within. What has been your experience in scaling a business, let's say you were an organization with let's say, 10 employees, and in the course of 12 months, you've now grown to an organization with 100 employees. How do you keep that culture that is still customer focused, customer obsessed, even though you have so many more persons that you're managing? What has your experience been in scaling from that perspective?  Herb stated that hat's a wonderful question. The first part of his experience was “Were they hiring the right type of people that shared their similar values and purpose?”  And in the beginning, they were just looking at resumes, you have experience, you've done customer support or business development, you're a good fit, you're hired. But what they learned was they needed to hire people that not only had skill and experience, but shared their similar values and their purpose, because they work together in the way we behave around those values is what allows them to work well together. And that translates into the customer experience.  The second part of that, that he learned is that they cannot be all things to all customers. And they were trying to be that in the beginning and that hurt their customer experience. So, they finally profiled who was their ideal customer, they were easy to work with, they had high referred ability to others like them, they were profitable, that had to be economically good for the company and they valued them paid their bills on time.   And then they ultimately asked them…. ·      “What is it about our company?” ·      “Why do you value us?” ·      “And importantly, How are we distinctive from the competition?”  They call those their brand promises and they hire and train people to deliver exceptional brand promise results. Because if they get the clients brand promise right, and they can deliver it, they have very high client expectation scores. Me: Excellent. Thank you so much for sharing.    In Terms of Customer Experience, Things to Look Out for to Ensure That You're Being Satisfied as a Customer  Me: Now, you've worked with quite a few businesses, Herb and you have a wealth of experience. In terms of customer experience, you as a customer, because I'm sure you do business with many different organisations as a customer yourself. What are three things that you look for to ensure that you're being satisfied as a customer, that your needs are being met?  Herb shared that he thinks the first important thing is, “Are they listening to him?” “Do they understand really what his requirements or wants and needs are?”   Secondly, “Are they responsive to him?” If he feels like he needs help, or an answer, are they responsive? And are they available as needed?  And then the third thing is, he understands all companies can make mistakes. To him the mark of a great customer experience is not what they do when things are good, it's how well they react to a mistake or when things don't go good. And those are three things for him that have always been top of mind his entire career.   App, Website or Tool that Herb Absolutely Can't Live Without in His Business When asked about online resource that he cannot live without in his business, Herb shared that with AI right now there are so many. So, he'd like to say Chat GPT. But there's so many happening every day. But recently, in the last 6 months, he's really been leaning in to Chat GPT and trying to create prompts in Chat GPT that will make their customer insights and experiences that much that much better.   Books that Have Had the Biggest Impact on Herb When asked about books that he's read that have had a great impact, Herb shared that Scaling Up: How a Few Companies Make It…and Why the Rest Don't (Rockefeller Habits 2.0 Revised Edition) by Verne Harish, the book was given to him early 2003. He thinks he's read it close to 30 times now. And as recently as this weekend when he was travelling home on a plane, he was making notes to the author, and sent him a note over the weekend about an insight or something that he thinks they can do even better as part of the scaling up network. He is with a group of other like-minded coaches that use the methodology to help entrepreneurs and their senior teams grow. And they are constantly improving the IP that goes into the Scaling Up book. So, he's read a lot of books, but Scaling Up is one of the only books he ever wanted to reread and master.   In Terms of Recruitment, What are Some Key Questions to Ask That Would Align  Me: You mentioned earlier in our conversation, as it related to Scaling Up that you want to have persons that you hire, that are in alignment with your values, your value system, your vision, and your mission. And so, could you share with us in terms of the recruitment process from a HR perspective, what are some key, would it be a question that you need to ask them that would align you in that phase? Or is it something you're looking for maybe in terms of giving them a scenario and then you're looking for them to give you a particular response to ensure that the person you are selecting it's not just based, as you said on their resume, their experience, their academia, but more so what values they're bringing to the table? What are they going to do if they're faced with a particular scenario? And is that going to be in alignment with the core value of the organization?  Herb shared that they begin in the recruitment phase. So, imagine that you need to hire an individual, his four core values for his coaching practice are wisdom, humility, integrity, and grit. So, if he was going to look for someone to join his coaching practice, his job recruitment ads would have messaging around, “Do you value wisdom, learning and sharing?” “Do you have the humility to let others shine?” “Do you have the integrity to always do the right thing?” “And do you have the grit to deal with adversity and be resilient?” If that sounds like you, they'd like to talk.  The second part of that goes into the interview, when they actually are asking questions all around. Do you have those core values? Can you tell me about a time where somebody challenged your integrity? And how did you deal with it? What would you do different now? What were the lessons learned?  The third part of it is in the onboarding. So, every new hire orientation should have members or members of leadership or owners coming in, talking to the new employees about the values, the purpose and the mission of the organization.   So, they're kind of inoculated in the beginning that these things are important and top of mind as you work in the company. They then do newsletters that are also echoing this messaging, it's part of their performance review where part of your evaluation is how well you're living in aligning to the values.  They do recognition programmes throughout the year where you're recognized for living certain values and purpose. And then their leadership is trained that when they're working with you day in and day out, to reference recognition and constructive feedback in relation to the core value and purpose embodiment.  Me: Those are pretty good. Excellent, excellent, excellent. And I like how you gave the examples and the question that you asked as it relates to the recruitment process, even in the advertising and marketing to ensure that you're attracting the right people. So, thank you so much for sharing those strategies on how to achieve that. Herb shared one other point, this is so powerful for him, you talked about going from 10 people to like a couple of 100 people. When they first were looking at their workforce in one of their small groups, they had about 25 employees. And somebody had him doing “A” player assessment, what that simply means is out of 25 people, how many of them did they rate as “A” players, people that embodied their values, and people that were hitting the productivity requirements for their job? He has to tell you…..his first score was only a 38% out of 100.  Now, can you imagine early on in his scaling up journey, the drama a company would have with only 38% being A players? Can you imagine what the customer experience would have been dealing with that team? Here was the eye opener for him. What if he scaled to 200 employees, but didn't change the 38% A player result? Imagine scaling drama 25 people at 38% A player. Now 200 people at only 38% A player? It would be awful.  Me: Yep, that would definitely shoot your customer experience into the garbage.  Herb stated that one of the big epiphanies that he had, and what he loves to do with his clients is they need to get your people right as a foundational part, before you just scale.  Let's be smart, because when you scale with a higher A player rating, your drama is so much lower, your clients are so much happier, your employee retention is so much higher, and your employee tenure is so much longer. It was the most incredible epiphany they ever had, and he will never grow a company another way.   What Herb is Really Excited About Now! When asked about something that he's really excited about, Herb shared that he's really leaning into AI. He's looking at all the tools and techniques in their practice and they're trying to really make it easier for their clients to use the tools leveraging AI elements within it.  The second part is he just came back, his son who's 30 years old, completed his first Ironman Triathlon last weekend, a 140-mile race. And he's (Herb) just committed to his son that he is going to train him, his first Ironman, so you asked what's going on in his head right now, that's what's going on in his head.   Where Can We Find Herb Online Website – www.aspiregrowthadvisors.com    Quote or Saying that During Times of Adversity Herb Uses When asked about a quote or saying that he tends to revert to, Herb shared that he's found many business owners that when they get frustrated and burnt out, but think about it, a lot of entrepreneurs start their company and it's a love story. They've always wanted to be their own boss, they have a certain gift or skill, and they want to bring that to the world and make a difference. But next thing you know, tough employees happen, bad clients happen, payroll, money, frustration happens. And what turned into a dream becomes a nightmare for the owner and they feel like the business is running them.   His quote to you is, “You deserve a business where you're running the business, the business is not running you.” And what he's learned in his journey with Scaling Up is that you can have that dream, it's not easy. But they can make it easier for you to build a business to make more money, to give you more freedom, and less drama. And that is the wish that I have for all of your listeners that they find that for them in their company.  Me: Brilliant, quote. Excellent. Thank you so much for sharing Herb. Thinking on Scripture with Dr. Steven R. Cook
Soteriology Lesson 23 - The Role of God the Holy Spirit in Regenerating, Indwelling, Baptizing, and Sealing New Believers

Thinking on Scripture with Dr. Steven R. Cook

The Spirit's Regeneration, Indwelling, Baptizing, and Sealing Ministry At the moment of salvation, God the Holy Spirit performs several acts for new believers, which include regeneration (John 3:6; Tit 3:5; 1 Pet 1:3), indwelling (John 14:16-17; 1 Cor 3:16; 6:19), baptizing (1 Cor 12:13; Gal 3:27), and sealing (Eph 4:30). Regeneration The word regeneration itself occurs only twice in the Bible (Matt 19:28 and Tit 3:5). In both places the Greek word used is paliggenesia (παλιγγενεσία), which means, “the state of being renewed… [the] experience of a complete change of life, rebirth of a redeemed person.”[1] Regeneration means new believers receive spiritual life at the moment they trust in Christ alone as their Savior. Geisler states, “The new birth of which Jesus speaks is the act of regeneration, whereby God imparts spiritual life to the believer's soul (1 Peter 1:23).”[2] Paul Enns agrees, saying, “Succinctly stated, to regenerate means ‘to impart life.' Regeneration is the act whereby God imparts life to the one who believes.”[3] Ryrie notes: "Although the word regeneration is used only twice in the Bible (Titus 3:5, where it refers to the new birth, and Mt 19:28 where it refers to the millennial kingdom), the concept of being born again is found in other passages, notably John 3. Technically, it is God's act of begetting eternal life in the one who believes in Christ. While faith and regeneration are closely associated, the two ideas are distinct, faith being the human responsibility and the channel through which God's grace is received, and regeneration being God's supernatural act of imparting eternal life."[4] David Anderson adds: "The NT uses a number of different words and images to convey the doctrine of regeneration. The noun palingenesia is used just twice: Matthew 19:28 and Titus 3:5. In Matthew, Jesus is speaking of the regeneration which will occur at His second coming. He refers to setting up His kingdom, placing the twelve over the twelve tribes of Israel, and rewarding those who have sacrificed for His cause. But in Titus 3:5, we have a direct reference to the rebirth of the believer: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”[5] To the concept of regeneration, the Greek words anothen (ἄνωθεν) and anagennao (ἀναγεννάω) can be added. Jesus, while speaking to Nicodemus, said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again [anothen] he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3; cf., John 3:7). The word anothen (ἄνωθεν) generally means “from a source that is above.”[6] That is, from a heavenly source. (At least two English translations, NET & YLT, render the word “from above”). Because Nicodemus confused physical birth with spiritual birth (John 3:4), Jesus clarified His statement, saying, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). Jesus was talking about spiritual birth, or regeneration, which comes from the source of heaven. Peter used the Greek word anagennao (ἀναγεννάω) when he wrote about Christians who have been “born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Pet 1:3), and who “have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God” (1 Pet 1:23). The basic meaning of anagennao (ἀναγεννάω) is to “beget again, cause to be born again.”[7] In both instances the word denotes imparting new life. This work of the Spirit is directly related to the believer's salvation. According to Walvoord, “The work of regeneration can be assigned to the Holy Spirit as definitely as the work of salvation can be assigned to Christ.”[8]And the believer's new life is the basis for a new walk with the Lord. Ryrie notes, “Regeneration does not make a man perfect, but it places him in the family of God and gives him the new ability to please his Father by growing into the image of Christ. Fruit from the new nature is proof that regeneration has occurred (1 John 2:29).”[9] Lighter states: "The means by which regeneration is accomplished eliminates all human endeavor. Though personal faith in Christ as Savior is necessary, faith does not produce the new life; it does not regenerate. Only God regenerates. Human faith and divine regeneration occur at the same time, but the one is man's responsibility as he is enabled by the Holy Spirit, and the other is the work of God imparting the divine life."[10] Indwelling The indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit for every believer was an innovation that was future from the time of Jesus' ministry on earth. Jesus said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water'” (John 7:38). And John tells us, “But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified” (John 7:39). The Spirit would begin His special ministry on the day of Pentecost, and it would involve His personal indwelling of every believer. Prior to His crucifixion, Jesus spoke of this, saying, “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you” (John 14:16-17). Notice that Spirit would not only be with them, would be in them. Merrill Tenney writes, “This distinction marks the difference between the Old Testament experience of the Holy Spirit and the post-Pentecostal experience of the church. The individual indwelling of the Spirit is the specific privilege of the Christian believer.”[11] This new indwelling ministry by God the Holy Spirit is different than His work in believers in the OT. Under the Mosaic Law, only a select few received the Holy Spirit (Ex 31:1-5; Num 11:25; 27:18; 1 Sam 16:13), and that was conditioned on His sovereign purposes. But now, in the dispensation of the church age, God the Holy Spirit would personally indwell both the local church (1 Cor 3:16-17), as well as each individual believer (1 Cor 6:19). Paul wrote to the Christians living in Corinth, saying, “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Cor 3:16). Concerning the Spirit's indwelling the church in 1 Corinthians 3:16, Radmacher states: "There are two words translated temple in the NT. One refers to the temple building and all its courts; the other refers strictly to the Most Holy Place where no one but the high priest could go. Paul uses the latter term to describe the local church, in whom God dwells. Unlike 1 Corinthians 6:19, where the word temple refers to the individual believer, and Ephesians 2:21, where the word speaks of the church universal, these verses speak of the local church as God's temple. God takes very seriously our actions in the church. destroy: Any person who disrupts and destroys the church by divisions, malice, and other harmful acts invites God's discipline (1 Cor 11:30-32)."[12] Paul also describes the Spirit's indwelling each Christian in 1 Corinthians 6:19, where he wrote, “do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” According to Constable, “Previously Paul taught his readers that the Corinthian church was a temple (naos; 1 Cor 3:16). The believer's body is also a temple. The Holy Spirit is actually indwelling each of these temples (Rom 8:9; cf. Matt 12:6; 18:15–20; 28:16–20; Mark 13:11; John 14:17, 23).”[13] What we find in the church age is that all three Persons of the Godhead indwell every believer (John 14:16-17, 20, 23); however, the Holy Spirit has a special ministry which began on the day of Pentecost (Acts 1:4-5; 2:1-4; 11:15-16; 1 Cor 12:13; Gal 3:26-28), and will continue until the church is raptured to heaven (2 Th 2:7; cf. John 14:1-3; 1 Th 4:13-18; Tit 2:13). Chafer states: "The Spirit made His advent into the world here to abide throughout this dispensation. As Christ is now located at the right hand of the Father, though omnipresent, so the Spirit, though omnipresent, is now locally abiding in the world, in a temple, or habitation, of living stones (Eph 2:19-22). The individual believer is also spoken of as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19). The Spirit will not leave the world, or even one stone of that building until the age-long purpose of forming that temple is finished…The Spirit came on the Day of Pentecost and that aspect of the meaning of Pentecost will no more be repeated than the incarnation of Christ. There is no occasion to call the Spirit to “come,” for He is here."[14] Baptizing The subject of baptism has been, and continues to be, a subject of confusion. The word baptize is a transliteration of the Greek verb baptizo (βαπτίζω) which broadly means to “plunge, dip, [or] wash,”[15] and is often used “of the Christian sacrament of initiation after Jesus' death.”[16] The Greek noun baptisma (βάπτισμα) refers to the result of a dipping or immersing. In Classical Greek literature, the verb baptizo (βαπτίζω) “was used among the Greeks to signify the dyeing of a garment, or the drawing of water by dipping a vessel into another.”[17] The Greek poet Nicander (ca. 200 B.C.) used both bapto (βάπτω) and baptizo (βαπτίζω) when describing the process of making pickles. According to James Strong, “When used in the New Testament, this word more often refers to our union and identification with Christ than to our water baptism.”[18]  There are numerous baptisms mentioned in the Bible, some are wet and some are dry. John the Baptist said, “I baptize you with water” (Matt 3:11a), clearly making the baptism wet. But then, John the Baptist spoke of Jesus, saying, “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire” (Matt 3:11b). These latter two baptisms are both dry, where no one gets placed into water. A few other baptisms mentioned in Scripture include the baptism of the cross (Mark 10:35-38; Luke 12:50), the baptism of Moses (1 Cor 10:1-2), and the baptism of Christians (Matt 28:16-20). For the Christian, water baptism is a picture of the believer's spiritual union and identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Rom 6:3-7; Col 2:11-12). Water baptism does not save (1 Cor 1:17). It never has and never will. God saves at the moment believers place their faith solely in Jesus (John 3:16; 1 Cor 15:3-4). At the moment of faith in Christ, God the Holy Spirit unites new believers spiritually to Christ, adding them to the church, the body of Christ. Paul wrote, “For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit” (1 Cor 12:12-13). Lewis Chafer states, “As a ground upon which the certainty of eternal security rests, the baptism of the Spirit should be recognized as that operation by which the individual believer is brought into organic union with Christ. By the Spirit's regeneration Christ is resident in the believer, and by the Spirit's baptism the believer is thus in Christ.”[19] Merrill F. Unger comments: "This momentous spiritual operation is set forth in the NT as the basis of all the believer's positions and possessions “in Christ” (Eph 1:3; Col 2:10; 3:1–4; etc.). The operation is prophetic in the gospels (Matt 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16–17; John 1:33–34, where Christ is the baptizer), historic in the Acts (cf. Acts 1:5 with Acts 11:16), and doctrinal in the epistles (1 Cor 12:13, where the Spirit is named specifically as the agent; Rom 6:3–4; Gal 3:26–27; Col 2:9–12; Eph 4:5). The Spirit's baptizing work, placing the believer “in Christ,” occurred initially at Pentecost at the advent of the Spirit, who baptized believing Jews “into Christ.” In Acts 8, Samaritans were baptized in this way for the first time; in Acts 10, Gentiles likewise were so baptized, at which point the normal agency of the Spirit as baptizer was attained. According to the clear teaching of the epistles, every believer is baptized by the Spirit into Christ the moment he is regenerated. He is also simultaneously indwelt by the Spirit and sealed eternally, with the privilege of being filled with the Spirit, as the conditions for filling are met."[20] Sealing Several times Paul used the Greek verb sphragizo (σφραγίζω) when writing to Christians. Paul wrote of God “who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge” (2 Cor 1:22). To the Christians at Ephesus he wrote, “In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise” (Eph 1:13), and “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption” (Eph 4:30). In each of these uses the verb sphragizo (σφραγίζω) means “to mark with a seal as a means of identification…so that the mark denoting ownership also carries with it the protection of the owner.”[21] Laney Jr., states, “In ancient times a seal was used as an identifying mark, indicating the rightful ownership of the object sealed. And so the sealing ministry of the Spirit marks believers as God's own possession, guaranteeing their security for eternity.”[22] Concerning Paul's use of sphragizo (σφραγίζω) in Ephesians 1:13, Harold Hoehner comments: "God seals the believers in Christ with the promised Holy Spirit when they have not only heard but also believed the gospel of salvation. The sealing with the Spirit must not be confused with the other ministries of the Spirit. The indwelling of the Spirit refers to his residence in every believer (Rom 8:9; 1 John 2:27). The baptizing ministry of the Spirit places believers into the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:13). The filling by the Spirit is the control of the Spirit over believers' lives (Eph 5:18). The sealing ministry of the Spirit is to identify believers as God's own and thus give them the security that they belong to him (Eph 1:13; 4:30; 2 Cor 1:22). The very fact that the Spirit indwells believers is a seal of God's ownership of them."[23] The Holy Spirit is Himself the seal that marks us as owned by God and guarantees our future redemption and glory (Eph 1:13-14; 4:30). These blessings are completely the work of the Holy Spirit for the benefit of Christians and occur at the moment believers trust Jesus as their Savior. These are facts based on objective statements in Scripture and are accepted by faith, not ever-changing subjective feelings. Though Christians can grieve and/or quench the Holy Spirit with personal sin (Eph 4:30; 1 Th 5:19), and though they may suffer divine discipline because of personal sin (Heb 12:5-11), they cannot grieve Him away. Joseph Dillow notes: "The ancient practice of using seals is behind the figurative use of the word here. A seal was a mark of protection and ownership. The Greek word sphragizō is used of a stone being fastened with a seal to “prevent its being moved from a position” (BDAG). In fact, this was apparently the earliest method of distinguishing one's property. The seal was engraved with a design or mark distinctive to the owner. The seal of ownership or protection was often made in soft wax with a signet ring. An impression was left on the wax signifying the owner of the thing sealed. When the Holy Spirit seals us, He presses the signet ring of our heavenly Father on our hearts of wax and leaves the mark of ownership. We belong to Him. He certifies this by His unchangeable purpose to protect and own us to the day of redemption. In Ephesians 1:13-14, we are told that the Holy Spirit Himself is the seal. He is impressed upon us, so to speak. His presence in our lives is thus a guarantee of God's protection and that we are owned by God. A broken seal was an indication that the person had not been protected. The Holy Spirit cannot be broken. He is the seal of ownership. In Ephesians 4:30, we are told that we are sealed unto the day of redemption. This sealing ministry of the Spirit is forever and guarantees that we will arrive safely for the redemption of our bodies and entrance into heaven (Romans 8:23). He is the seal that we are now owned and protected by God until the day of redemption."[24] Dr. Steven R. To Become a Living Art: The Life Story of Roy Shingen Goldberg Sensei with Charlie Siegel Delve into the profound and empowering life of Roy Shingen Goldberg Sensei: a life encompassing the values of cultivating inner growth, self-discipline, and eternally striving to be the best version of oneself. His eventual success as the highest-ranking non-Japanese practitioner of the ancient samurai martial art of Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu is only a part of his incredible life story. As you read through from his humble beginnings in the 1950s to today, Roy's sense of humor, relaxed storytelling, and infectiously invigorating inner drive will begin to feel like speaking with an old friend. Written by one of his private students and a bestselling author of multiple books, Charlie Siegel, this book is filled with Roy's personal anecdotes and observations, and firsthand stories by Charlie and many of Roy's other students, friends, and family. Roy Goldberg shares his life story here as a means of expressing the message that we can all become our best selves when we set our minds on a path of greatness. As this book shares, life's myriad experiences are not setbacks or roadblocks; they are merely steppingstones that make us stronger when we climb over them with a shugyo mentality. Bio: Charlie Siegel is a bestselling author of fiction/fantasy, inspirational poetry, and the biography of his Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu martial arts instructor, Roy Shingen Goldberg Sensei. Designed to uplift and heal, his works tug on the heartstrings and call to us all to rise above the heaviness and the doldrums and find those things that call to us in life, that inspire us and help us to live as our true selves. His first book "Conversations with an Angel: A story of healing through the passageways of grief" was released in 2017 and his second book, "When You Realize How Perfect Everything Is", which is co-authored with his grandfather, NY Times Bestselling Author Dr. Bernie Siegel, was released in 2020. His third book, "To Become a Living Art: The life story of Roy Shingen Goldberg Sensei" was released in 2022, with the Revised Edition being released 1 year later in 2023. He is already at work on his next book. Charlie is also a professional fine art nature, wildlife and landscape photographer, and has featured a few images of his work of the northern lights over Iceland on the cover and some of the final pages within his first book, as well as fully illustrated his second with a variety of his photographs. Some of his images from Japan are also featured in "To Become a Living Art." His photography is available and visible on social media (Facebook and Instagram) by searching @NaturePhotobySC and can be purchased in a variety of prints and merchandise on his website www.NaturePhotobySC.com He can be contacted directly on there to ask questions or to discuss anything in regards to his works. In the book of Exodus there are 10 plagues reported. Each one of those plagues was pertaining to an Egyptian god. In the plague of frogs, we find a very interesting occurrence. When Pharaoh was asked when he desired for the frogs to be gone, he said tomorrow. He chose to spend one more night with the frogs. We say how foolish, but don't we often do the same thing?

The Leader of the Insurrection in action, worse than 9/11 and Pearl Harbor combinedhttps://twitter.com/greg_price11/status/1632912031882805250Someone at the top of the DOJ did not want Americans to see the surveillance videos. Despite intense media obsession, despite an act of despicable violence we were told was domestic terrorism, despite the possibility that more eyes viewing the evidence might find more clues, despite the requirement that exonerating or mitigating evidence be turned over to the defense, someone at the top of the DOJ did not want Americans to see the surveillance footage of . . . The Oklahoma City Bombing. Ten years after the deadly murders and the convictions of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols the DOJ still didn't want Americans to see McVeigh getting out of the Ryder truck he rented. Or, was it that they didn't want Americans to see McVeigh and the Third Terrorist exiting the truck? One person certainly knows the answer to that and his name is Merrick Garland, who Revolver.News Senior Editor Darrin Beattie calls “the ‘Regime Janitor.'” The same Merrick Garland who runs the DOJ that told Americans Officer Brian Sidnick was murdered on J6, that the so-called Q'Anon Shaman broken and entered and committed property destruction--both of which were absolute lies--didn't want Americans to see the video footage that proves they are lies. They told us Trump caused this just like they said Rush Limbaugh--God rest the Maha--caused Oklahoma City. In the Episode we look at the commonalities between the J6 lies and the Oklahoma City narrative. Some questions: how on earth did the FBI complete an investigation of Terry Nichols when, years after he was in prison, they suddenly found a cache of explosives and blasting camps in his house? Why did the FBI try to talk witnesses into changing their minds about seeing the Third Terrorist who whom the FBI had launched a massive search . . . a search they then dropped with no explanation? What does God say? I find an increasing amount of comfort remembering The Lord sees all and Jesus will come again to judgeHebrews 4:13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account2 Corinthians 5:10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 01:37, Darren Beattie on Merrick GarlandCongressional Transcript: Degree of skepticism surrounding investigation of Oklahoma City Bombing. The Third Terrorist, Revised Edition, by Jayna Davis (who seems to have disappeared) BREAKING: Never before seen January 6 footage shows Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick walking around the building after the time media outlets claimed he was killed by protesters. The J6 Committee had access to this tape but refused to release it.McConnell said it was a "mistake" for Tucker Carlson to show January 6 footage that the government fought to keep hidden.Schumer: "Rupert Murdoch has a special obligation to stop Tucker Carlson from going on tonight [and] from letting him go on again and again and again [because] our democracy depends on it."I was told the QAnon shaman was leading an insurrection not the one who is being led by police throughout the capital building. No wonder all the footage was kept from us for 2 years. As always they lied to us all!SEN SCHUMER: "[Tucker's] going to come back tonight with another segment. Fox News should tell him NOT to.
