One pastor believes that when it comes to the Holy Spirit, many Christians are in a “complete fog.” We are familiar with God the Father. We are familiar with God the Son. But how familiar are we with God the Holy Spirit? Thankfully, in the final lecture before His death, Jesus concentrates on the Holy Spirit. Let us listen in to the most extensive teaching on the Holy Spirit to grow in our knowledge of and relationship with the Spirit. Eric P. Welcome to the Created To Thrive Podcast, the podcast designed to help you deepen your relationship with God, cultivate healthy mindsets and emotions, and step into your God-given potential. **FREE Training: How To Experience God's Best For You + More Free Resources: https://loriksnyder.com/resources/ Welcome to the Created To Thrive Podcast, the podcast designed to help you deepen your relationship with God, cultivate healthy mindsets and emotions, and unlock your God-given potential. In today's episode 104, “Unlocking the Power of the Kingdom of God in Your Life”, we will be discussing the Kingdom of God, and how you can practically experience God's will for you right now. I have found that the kingdom of God is a topic most people haven't been taught on and so don't understand very well. We want to empower you with understanding some basics today. Out of all the things the Apostle Paul could have used to characterize the kingdom of God, he chose righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Many people would most like have put faith, authority, power, miracles, being holy, and other things in that list. But Paul boiled it down to having a right standing with God that produces peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The kingdom of God isn't about keeping rules and regulations; it's about relationship with God the Father and Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Discovering the transformative power of the Kingdom of God can bring profound changes to your life. It's not just a spiritual concept, but a tangible reality that can unlock a multitude of blessings and opportunities. The Kingdom of God is not just a distant concept or an abstract idea; it is a reality that can be unlocked and experienced in your everyday life. It is a realm where God's reign and rule bring forth abundant blessings, peace, joy, and purpose. Power of the Holy Spirit by Pastor Shannon Pinto. This is part of a series on The Holy Spirit.
Sermon preached on 21st October 2018 by Pastor Shannon Pinto. This is part of a series on The Holy Spirit.
Jesus came to earth with a mission, and it was the greatest mission of all mankind. But then, He commissioned us for a mission, and we find that mission in John 14:12. "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." Jesus is saying that the work of the church is exactly the same as the work He came to do! The purpose and mission of the church is to do what Jesus did when He lived on earth If you believe in Jesus, John 14:12 is talking about you. You're supposed to do the works that Jesus did. What does this mean about you personally? Click here to download this podcast No matter what career you're in, it's not about that, its about what Jesus Christ says you are and what you do for His kingdom. The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” Luke 4:18-19 What Does an Anointed Christian Look Like? 1. What does the word anointed mean? Anointed - in classical Greek: to pour oil on something, to rub with oil; to appoint to an office. "...and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." Revelation 1:5-6 God has appointed us to be kings and priests. We are appointed to this work. We need to come into agreement with God and what He says about us and who He says we are. And He says that He has placed us in office as a king and priest in His kingdom. Rise up and be who He has appointed you to be! “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:18-19 God has given us the authority of that appointment He has given us the keys of the kingdom, which equal authority. "But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." Romans 8:9-11 If you're born again, the Holy Spirit lives in you. This isn't just talking about the Great Resurrection, but it is also talking about living resurrection life by the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. The Holy Spirit in you, so you should be living resurrection life. 2. The Holy Spirit is not just in me but "upon Me" “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49 Two key phrases Clothed with power Promise of the Father "And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-5 Wait for the promise of the Father Promise of the Father is the Holy Spirit Holy Spirit in you and upon you When you are born again, the Holy Spirit comes in you When you are baptism in the Holy Spirit He comes upon you He immerses you in the Holy Spirit Holy Spirit is upon you, not just in you Clothed with power = Holy Spirit Baptism Classic Greek word: Baptidzo Foundary working with metal Put it in the fire and heat it and then hammer it. Then would baptize it in oil. Repeat. Temprering it so it would be hard and they could sharpen it. Holy Spirit comes into your life to strengthen the fibers of you life. You may be a business man or business woman, but first and foremost you are a child of God and a king and priest unto your God. That career is only God's way of getting you into the mission field. He wants you to go into that mission field with the authority and power of the Holy Spirit! This is why you need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Get my new study on the Holy Spirit!
