Snyder and guest Karen McCracken discuss finding our true worth and purpose in Christ, rather than in external roles or titles. Discover the life you were created for, by knowing your God-given identity and value.   Here are 3 key takeaways from the conversation:   1️⃣ Recognize the Rollercoaster: It's common to define ourselves by the roles we play or the titles we hold, but this can leave us feeling lost when those roles change or are taken away. By grounding our identity in Christ, we find a foundation that remains constant, regardless of our circumstances.   2️⃣ Seek Fulfillment in Jesus: Instead of seeking fulfillment in the world's standards and accomplishments, we can find true fulfillment in Jesus Christ. We cannot fully understand our calling and destiny without first understanding our identity as God's beloved children. Through a relationship with Him, we can find our true purpose and live a life of significance.   If you're looking to thrive in your identity in Christ and discover your God-given purpose, check out this inspiring episode. How to Overcome Limiting Beliefs to Unlock Your Full Potential with Fred Snyder | 107

Have you ever felt like invisible walls are holding you back? Do you catch yourself thinking 'I'm not good enough,' 'I can't do this,' or 'I don't deserve success'? If that sounds like you, then today's episode is your key to breaking free. We're talking about how to overcome limiting beliefs to unlock your full potential.    Fred Snyder joins me for a powerful episode and we're diving deep into the invisible forces that shape us: our childhood, our culture, our beliefs, and our faith. Why is this important? Because recognizing these shaping factors is the first step to reclaiming control over our spiritual and emotional destiny. The first step is to become self-aware, but then we will share some practical, faith-based tips and exercises to help you navigate these complex influences and become the person God created you to thrive.   Here are the five key points with Scriptures 1. Limiting beliefs are sneaky thoughts that hold us back and paralyze our progress. These beliefs often stem from our childhood, culture, and personal experiences. It is important to recognize these influences in order to reclaim control over our spiritual and emotional destiny (Romans 12:2). 2. Becoming self-aware is the first step to overcoming limiting beliefs. Understanding how our thoughts and beliefs shape our actions allows us to challenge and change them. This process involves reflection, introspection, and a willingness to confront and question our own beliefs (Proverbs 23:7). 3. Overcoming limiting beliefs requires faith-based tips and exercises. By aligning our beliefs with God's truth, we can begin to break free from the negativity and doubt that hold us back. This involves studying and meditating on God's word, seeking guidance through prayer, and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit to transform our minds (Philippians 4:8, Ephesians 6:17). 4. Many of us operate from a low bar of expectancy, settling for less than what God has planned for us. Stepping into our true identity means moving beyond societal expectations and embracing who God says we are. It involves recognizing and dismantling the false narratives and self-imposed limitations that keep us from fulfilling our potential (Ephesians 2:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17). 5. Building a solid foundation is crucial for reaching our full potential. Just as a house needs a strong and stable foundation, our lives need a solid base rooted in God's truth and our true identity in Christ. This foundation involves clearing out the negative influences, aligning our beliefs with God's word, and intentionally building a life that reflects our true calling and purpose (Luke 6:48, Psalm 127:1, Matthew 7:24-27). She recently returned to New Zealand after completing ministry school in California, she is settling back into a slower pace of life and finding inspiration for her subsequent books.  She is enjoying the rich coffee culture, delectable food, and the midcentury modern design of her family home. Connect with Lori:  Website: https://loriksnyder.com Facebook https://www.facebook.com/lorikaysnyder1 Instagram https://www.instagram.com/lorikaysnyder/   Here are the 3 key takeaways from our conversation: 1️⃣ Foster Joy in Your Life: While many of us have heard the phrase "the joy of the Lord is my strength," we aren't often taught how to practically develop and receive that joy. Kylie shared her personal journey of seeking joy, taking time to study the scriptures and understand the deep meaning behind them. By immersing herself in the Word, she was able to tap into a joy that is like a shield, a fortress, and a strong tower, enabling her to rise above difficult circumstances. 2️⃣ Bring Your Pain to the Lord: In the midst of challenging situations, it can be easy to let fear and worry consume us. Kylie reminded us that we can take our pain and questions to the Lord, laying them at His feet and inviting Him to speak into our situations. Through this surrender, we can experience His peace and hope, which in turn leads to genuine joy. Rather than trying to muster up joy on our own, we can receive it as a gift from the Holy Spirit. 3️⃣ Seek Relationship Over Striving: Sometimes, we may feel pressured to "work up" joy and strive in our efforts to be joyful. However, Kylie emphasized that true joy comes from having an intimate relationship with God. It's about going beyond declaring scripture and relying on our own strength. Instead, we can tap into the overflowing joy and peace that result from a deep connection with our Heavenly Father, allowing Him to fill us and transform our circumstances. #JoyDespiteTrials #CreatedToThrive #Inspiration #Faith #Joy #RelationshipWithGod

I have found that the kingdom of God is a topic most people haven't been taught on and so don't understand very well. We want to empower you with understanding some basics today.   Out of all the things the Apostle Paul could have used to characterize the kingdom of God, he chose righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Many people would most like have put faith, authority, power, miracles, being holy, and other things in that list.  But Paul boiled it down to having a right standing with God that produces peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.  The kingdom of God isn't about keeping rules and regulations; it's about relationship with God the Father and Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.    Discovering the transformative power of the Kingdom of God can bring profound changes to your life. It's not just a spiritual concept, but a tangible reality that can unlock a multitude of blessings and opportunities. The Kingdom of God is not just a distant concept or an abstract idea; it is a reality that can be unlocked and experienced in your everyday life. It is a realm where God's reign and rule bring forth abundant blessings, peace, joy, and purpose.   Join Chris Cree of New CREEations Ministries and I as we discuss the role of the Holy Spirit in our faith journey, and how partnering with Him can transform our minds, renew our soul, and guide us in every aspect of life. She vulnerably shares her own experiences and struggles with bitterness, acknowledging its impact on their lives.    Bitterness is a complex emotion, closely tied to feelings of helplessness, jealousy, rejection, and a lack of love or understanding. They emphasize the need for trauma-informed support and caution against simplistic advice like "just pray more" that can be harmful.   They encourage listeners to acknowledge their emotions, remove masks, and be honest with themselves and God. They share the significance of finding safe people to confide in and seek support from, as healing often happens in relationship with others.   Throughout the conversation, they emphasize the role of self-compassion, breaking down harmful beliefs, and cultivating new neural pathways in the brain to overcome bitterness and its effects. The episode concludes with the importance of partnering with God in the healing process, recognizing the significance of cultivating the heart and beliefs.   Connect with Lisa Pinney https://www.wholenessinpractice.com Lisa Pinney is the developer of a new app, called The Get Attuned app, which is a tool that allows its users to privately take care of their emotions at home. They stress the importance of addressing natural concerns and taking care of natural needs before seeking spiritual answers. Connecting with God can help fulfill emotional desires and provide comfort, strategy, and guidance in taking bold steps of faith.   In closing, the host thanks the guest for her insight and discuss plans to address prolonged anger and its consequences in a future episode. 95 | Understanding and Processing Anger: A Pathway to Better Emotional Health

Struggle with anger? On this episode of Created To Thrive Podcast, we dive into the topic of mastering your emotions, specifically understanding and processing anger for better emotional health. As believers, we often focus too much on the direction of our actions, but processing anger involves inviting God into the distress and potentially addressing the underlying issues with someone or making necessary changes. Lisa Pinney of Wholeness In Practice shares her personal experience of expressing anger in unhealthy ways and believes that as Christians, we are often ignorant about how to process anger in a healthy way. Throughout the episode, we explore various aspects of anger, including the four types of anger and the lack of a middle ground in the modern Christian vernacular between forgiveness and letting go. We also discuss the harmful effects of using scripture out of context, such as weaponized scripture that can harm children or create false beliefs about divorce. We emphasize the importance of true listening, considering what Jesus would do, and finding safe spaces to process our experiences without judgment. We also touch on the challenges and guilt that come with caregiving, the prevalence of caregiving due to an aging population, and the need for self-awareness without self-judgment. Additionally, we explore the biblical perspective on anger, drawing examples from God's expressions of anger and the importance of recognizing and processing our own anger. Four types of anger: Destructive, constructive, righteous, and justified anger are discussed, and we learn how bringing our anger to God and seeking His guidance can help us find hope and healing. The episode also delves into the concept of forgiveness, the gift we give ourselves to release injustice and start the healing process. The goal is to establish a deeper connection with the Lord and find restoration for our souls. We explore the idea that anger is often misunderstood and considered a secondary emotion, urging listeners to explore the underlying emotions such as fear, shame, regret, and insecurity. Our next episode will continue the exploration of anger by delving into understanding the root causes and addressing them. We acknowledge that forgiveness does not always help with anger and emphasize the importance of processing anger with God and the person who caused it. We also discuss the concept of righteous anger, citing Jesus' display of anger in the temple courts and examining current societal issues that evoke conflicting feelings of anger. Join us on this thought-provoking journey as we seek to understand and master our emotions, particularly anger, for our better emotional health. Stay tuned for the next episode where we continue our exploration of anger and delve into understanding the root causes. Waiting is never easy, especially today in our instant gratification society.  Whether it's a relationship, financial or health issue, or just a transition.   It can be difficult to wait on God, especially when we feel like we have no control over our circumstances.  We often want our problem fixed right now, instead of going through the process of waiting.    Typically, we often act in one of two ways while waiting on a promise from God.  1. We try to jump ahead of God and make things happen ourselves, not wanting to wait on His timing or plan. 2. Do nothing and wait passively for God to do something.   I recently was a guest on Kingdom Mindset's Two For Tuesday, which is a live teaching hosted by my friend, Chris Cree of New CREEations Ministries. We had great discussion on what does waiting on the Lord mean and why is it important we have a different attitude about waiting. I want to share that with you today. Do you ever feel unworthy, unlovable, inadequate, broken vessel, not good enough, smart enough, spiritual enough…? Are you struggling with an issue or confronted by painful memories or brokenness? Trauma affects our body, emotions, thoughts and beliefs, and we need healing from these events.  The good news is Jesus understands our brokenness and can help! Brokenness was not the end of the story for Jesus, and through Him, neither is it the end of our story!   Through Jesus Christ, we can experience physical, emotional and spiritual healing.  Whether you've been let down by disappointment, rejection, or resentment, Jesus came to heal your heart.   In this episode, I discuss Luke 4:18-19: Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”   •“brokenhearted” : is from the Greek word that depicts a person who has been shattered or fractured by life. It is the picture of those whose lives have been continually split up and fragmented.  •But Jesus said that He came to “heal” the brokenhearted!  The word “heal” here means to set free or to loosen from the detrimental effects of a shattered life. The Greek meaning of this word speaks of a release from the destructive effects of brokenness. In other words, although there is every reason to experience and feel brokenness, the anointing that is on Jesus is more than enough to release you from its adverse effects.  Even though you were once broken by life, the anointing of the Holy Spirit has the power to restore and release you from this captivity that has held you in emotional bondage. •We live in the acceptable year of the Lord. We are in an age of grace. God's grace is sufficient to release you from the pain of that experience. It may not happen overnight, but with the grace of God working in you — and you cooperating with His grace through faith — He can restore what the enemy meant for destruction.    Today I encourage you to throw open your arms and receive the grace of God that empowers and restores. It's yours for the taking. Receive God's grace through Jesus' performance and obedience of doing God's will, and bringing salvation. Agree with God's Truth. (Amos 3:3) Personalize and Speak God's Word Jesus has made you worthy to receive His grace, power and healing ***Need help processing your difficult emotions?
