We’re filled with ideas and beliefs our whole life. Whether it’s from our families, our religion, our hobbies, or something else. Sometimes these beliefs don’t expand our happiness. And they can fill us with more anxiety, depression, and misery. But we still cling to these ideas even though it leads to suffering because of the backlash we’d get if we were honest. In this episode, I’m giving you permission to ditch these bad beliefs so you can experience a new world full of unlimited joy and happiness. Here Are The Show Highlights: How your ego traps you into thinking you’re superior and creates endless suffering (13:30) Why challenging your fears and limitations is the most difficult, yet most effective, way to ditch anxiety, depression, and addiction (14:03) The insidious way peer pressure makes us cling to ideas, beliefs, and religion even when it’s sabotaging our happiness (and how to finally break free) (15:28) Why being wrong about your deeply held beliefs helps you discover a new world filled with untapped joy (16:55) If you want to radically change how much control you have over your emotions in as little as 20 days, you can go to https://thefreedomspecialist.com/feelbetternow and sign up for the Choose Your Own Emotion course. If you or somebody you know is looking to drop the ‘F’ Bomb of freedom in your life and break free from addiction, depression, anxiety or anything that’s making you feel flat-out stuck, head over to https://thefreedomspecialist.com/ and book a call where we can look at your unique situation and give you the roadmap you’ve been missing.

Finding the courage to live true to your dreams or the plans you have set for yourself is hard. Especially in Nigeria, where it seems the forces of the universe form an alliance to keep you from actualizing your vision. From convincing your loved ones that your plans are worthwhile, to the discipline you'd have to inculcate and the backbreaking work you'd have to do if you are to stand a fighting chance, it is a battle every single step of the way. Carving your own path is never easy but what good thing ever was? Listen as Bray delves into details of this often lonely but rewarding journey.

#64 Jacqueline Carson - Don't listen to what other people have to say: It's your life not theirs! Jacqueline talks to us about how you shouldn't always listen to what other people have to say: It's your life not theirs. Here's what you'll learn in this episode: The effect on her health of 25 years of stress, working too many hours, and not looking after herself. How hypnotherapy helped with her cancer treatment. How working for herself is one of the best things she's ever done. Jacqueline is a qualified Social Worker and has worked in safeguarding (children) for 25 years. In 2014, she found she had breast cancer on the first day of a new job. The diagnosis turned everything on its head and forced her to re-evaluate her life including her very stressful job. After accessing hypnotherapy during cancer treatment, she decided this was the new career she needed and retrained. Since qualifying as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in 2016, Jacqueline has also trained in Reiki, EFT, NLP and Havening. Jacqueline now runs her Hypnotherapy business full-time and has no regrets. She's gone on to study meditation and plans to train as a yoga teacher. In this episode we kick off with the hot topic of taking responsibility and the negative connotations surrounding the word. We take a look at how we show up in our lives and being truly honest with ourselves in order to open that door to change. We dive into the distinction between self blame and responsibility and what the benefits are of turning the finger inwards instead of outwards.
