Ever wonder why India is emerging as the new frontier in e-commerce and Amazon product sourcing? We welcomed seasoned sourcing expert, Lokesh Parashar, to shed light on this trend. Lokesh, with his 30 years of experience, unraveled the vast opportunities, potential returns, and occasional hurdles when sourcing from India. One key takeaway from Lokesh was the value of investing not only in the product but also in the community by actively participating in events and fostering relationships within the e-commerce sphere. Taking a closer look at the sourcing landscape, he shares his experience on how he made a remarkable transition from factory owner to supplying giants like Walmart. The challenges confronted after the 9/11 tragedy, his move to Canada and subsequent return to India due to his wife's medical condition, and his eventual venture into sourcing for small businesses added a deeply personal touch to his fascinating journey. His takeaway was clear: opening his own US-based company makes financial transactions smoother and can even open doors to becoming one of the largest consulting firms connecting Indian factories and the US. We couldn't leave the topic of sourcing without comparing India and China. Factors like pricing, quality, business support, and even labor costs were laid on the table. We discovered that while China has an edge in infrastructure and logistics, India isn't far behind catching up. We also underlined the importance of building personal relationships with factory owners and taking the time to visit these countries. Finally, an engaging discussion about the importance of creating a federation for sourcing agents in India and how their unique program lets Amazon FBA business owners get an Indian sourcing trip with just $999 all-in. Come join us on this journey, and who knows, you might just uncover your next big business opportunity. Leo: Bloody Sweet, the third installment of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, stars Tamil superstar Vijay -: the titular star Leo. The film revolves around Parthiban, a simplistic cafe owner in Kashmir who has dedicated his life to rescuing injured animals. As the film progresses, the mild-mannered protagonist becomes inexplicably caught between the crosshairs of a murderous drug cartel, who claims that he was once a part of their gang. The fast paced masala thriller has introduced a whole new section of movie-goers to the Tamil film industry.
And we are back with an episode on one of the films of the year- Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo. If you haven't yet heard of the film, crawl out of that rock and here we go- starring Vijay, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun etc, the film, after Vikram and the introduction of Lokesh Cinematic Universe, was THE Tamil film if not Indian film that a huge fan base was looking out for. Now that it's out and we can have a spoilers filled discussion, we got Deepauk, Anantha and one of our returning guests Equanimus to talk about it. There is a lot of crap out there in the name of engaging with this polarizing film that's perfectly good for the most part but if we may say so ourselves, nothing beats this one. Listen on. Participants: Anantha Deepauk Equanimus

Leo, co-written by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Rathna Kumar, and Deeraj Vaidy, is loosely inspired by David Cronenberg's 2005 classic A History of Violence. The epithet Thalapathy usually precedes his name – it means leader or commander. However, Leo co-writer and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who previously made Master with Vijay, aims to broaden the scope of mythic heroism in a mass movie. Have you subscribed to Film Companion yet? J., van der Kooij, K., Carter, M. J., Cashaback, J. G. A. Abstract: From baby's babbling to a songbird practicing a new tune, exploration is critical to motor learning. A hallmark of exploration is the emergence of random walk behaviour along solution manifolds, where successive motor actions are not independent but rather become serially dependent. Such exploratory random walk behaviour is ubiquitous across species, neural firing, gait patterns, and reaching behaviour. Past work has suggested that exploratory random walk behaviour arises from an accumulation of movement variability and a lack of error-based corrections. Here we test a fundamentally different idea--that reinforcement-based processes regulate random walk behaviour to promote continual motor exploration. Across three human reaching experiments we manipulated the size of both the visually displayed target and an unseen reward zone, as well as the probability of reinforcement feedback. Our empirical and modelling results parsimoniously support the notion that exploratory random walk behaviour emerges by utilizing knowledge of movement variability to update intended reach aim towards recently reinforced motor actions. This mechanism leads to active and continuous exploration of the solution manifold, currently thought by prominent theories to arise passively. The ability to continually explore is beneficial while acting in uncertain environments, during motor development, or when recovering from a neurological disorder to discover and learn new motor actions. Fertiliser shortages, adverse weather conditions and pest damage all played a role in driving down the yield and quality of both the earlier and later harvests (Rabi and Kharif). In this episode, we are joined by Dr. Lokesh Gupta and Raksha PR to discuss the findings from the 2022 harvest analysis program in India.

Hinduism, as is well known, has taken a multitude of shapes and forms. Some Hindu "little traditions" have remained obscure or understudied to this day due to their regional remoteness. One such offshoot is the influential cult of Mahasu, which has existed since medieval times in a part of the western Himalaya. The deity at the core of the cult takes the form of four primary Mahasus with territorial influence, installed in various far-flung temples. Their geographical center is the village of Hanol, and the larger territory is integrated into the Mahasu politico-religious system by a peripatetic deity with loyal followers across a considerable domain. Mahasu remains influential in the region, its ritual practices having remained quite distinct despite social change. An anthropological survey was conducted in its terrain during British times, but Till Kingdom Come: Medieval Hinduism in the Modern Himalaya (SUNY Press, 2021) is the first book to offer a detailed framework, a fine-grained history, and an analytically nuanced understanding of one of the rarest branches of Hindu worship.
