CHICAGO BEARS: DESAI NEW DC! The Chicago Bears found their new defensive coordinator in Sean Desai, who has served with the team dating back to 2013, when he was hired as a quality control assistant. Desai was promoted to safeties coach in 2019. There are no normal routes to becoming an NFL coach, but Sean Desai's path is especially rare. The 31-year old, who is the Bears' defensive quality control coach, never played collegiate or professional football. Instead, he earned a doctorate in educational administration, with an emphasis in higher education, at Temple University. While he was at the school, he worked as a graduate assistant for the Owls' football team. That eventually earned him jobs on the staffs at larger schools such as Miami and Boston College. The Chicago Bears found their new defensive coordinator in Sean Desai, who has served with the team dating back to 2013, when he was hired as a quality control assistant. Desai was promoted to safeties coach in 2019. The Bears explored a variety of candidates for defensive coordinator, including James Bettcher, Johnathon Gannon and even Mike Singletary. But they ultimately decided to promote from within in Desai, who is one of the young, rising coaches in the NFL. J. and G. SIZZLE discuss the AFC & NFC CHAMPIONSHIP! James Bettcher discusses defensive improvements heading into week 10
Dan Schneier and Nick Falato take the deep dive into the All-22 coaches film to figure out why the Giants lost another game where they won the time of possession battle against the Lions. Evaluating Daniel Jones under the All-22 lense has them even more excited about the rookie quarterback who continues to display better ball placement on a more consistent basis than the vast majority of quarterbacks drafted in the first or second round of the last two classes. Dan and Nick also explain what the All-22 taught them about the Giants' defense. They also dive into the Leonard Williams trade with a walk down his All-22 tape with the Jets. How he will fit James Bettcher's system, what this means for Dexter Lawrence, Dalvin Tomlinson, B.J. Hill, and more. Finally, they dive into all of the listener questions from the week.
Defensive Coordinator James Bettcher meets with the media on Thursday
Dan and Nick break down the All-22 of the Giants' loss to the Cardinals and it further solidifies their biggest question mark -- why did Kliff Kingsbury have a perfect game plan to attack James Bettcher's defense but Pat Shurmur essentially had nothing new, specific, to attack Vance Joseph's defensive system with 10 days to prepare? Dan and Nick question why Pat Shurmur continues to call run plays when the offense's blockers are outnumbered by the total defensive players in the box -- and they point out how often it happened and how much it hurt them? They dive back into Daniel Jones' evaluation after seeing the All-22, they give a shoutout to the game's most underrated player -- Golden Tate, dive into all the questions from the listeners, and a lot more key takeaways from the coaches film.
The guys have a long conversation about Pat Shurmur with some ranting mixed in. They talk about why Daniel Jones was bad on multiple levels, what led to 8 sacks, & James Bettcher needing to change. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
DC James Bettcher on challenge of facing QB Kyler Murray
Dan Schneier and Nick Falato break down every aspect of the New York Giants' Week 4 win over the Washington Redskins based on their evaluations from the All22 Coaches film. They start by diving into Pat Shurmur's offensive plan of attack and play-calling mix. The flip over to the defensive side of the ball to touch on the same thing but with James Bettcher. Then, the focus shifts to Daniel Jones with a breakdown of some key plays that showed how he's wise well beyond his years. Of course, full analysis of the two interceptions, why they happened, and how they can be fixed comes next. Dan and Nick breakdown why the Giants are using so much shotgun with Jones and why they still haven't found success on the play-action bootlegs from under center. A deep dive into the offensive line comes next followed by a breakdown of the running backs. Evan Engram is winning quickly and on routes much sooner than he has at any point in his career -- Dan and Nick break down why. Finally, the defense is highlighted by the best performance by a Giants linebacker -- Ryan Connelly -- in over a decade. Nick and Dan follow up with why they believe David Mayo could be a surprise contributor moving forward, a full breakdown of how Oshane Ximines and Dexter Lawrence have made such a massive impact already as rookies, why Grant Haley's run defense is keeping him in the lineup, and why Jabrill Peppers was the player of the game. Finally, Nick and Dan answer questions about pancakes, waffles, the Vikings' game plan for Week 5, and a lot more.
Dan Schneier and Nick Falato break down the coaches film of the New York Giants' victory over the Buccaneers, Daniel Jones' debut, and more. They kickoff the show with some housecleaning as the pod welcomes Falato as the new cohost. After a brief overview of what they saw on the All-22 coaches film overall, Dan and Nick dive deep into the legend of Danny Dimes. From the good, to the really good, to the really, really good and what he can clean up. Dan and Nick also break down what they liked and didn't about coach Pat Shurmur's offensive play-calling selection and plan of attack in addition to James Bettcher on the flip side. Throughout the rest of the show, several players are featured in longer analysis including Deandre Baker, Oshane Ximines, Dexter Lawrence, B.J. Hill, Darius Slayton, Nate Solder, and more. Finally, Nick and Dan answer of the listener's questions on this jam-packed episode.

Dan and Nick jump into an All-22 review of the Giants win over the Houston Texans. There was a lot to go over, Dan feels much better about the Giants play-calling, and Nick is happy to see Eli Manning staying on schedule with the vast majority of his throws. Nick loved the two Mesh Concept throws at key points in the game, and Dan liked the simple play-action to boot leg schemes getting Manning on the run. The two did not leave the defense uncovered, unlike what Giants fans may think, James Bettcher rarely blitzed in this match-up and Nick gets into why. The two preview the next game against the Saints at home and their prolific offense that has been relatively unstoppable.
