We're back! Episode 72 welcomes English producer, composer, and vocalist Ema Jolly, better known as @emika_official. A classically trained pianist, Emika has been making music for most of her life, both in the contemporary classical realm and the electronic one. Albums like her self-titled debut and early work like DVA, Melanfonie, and Falling in Love with Sadness were testaments to her thoughtful composition and emotional resonance. After having her two children however, her connection with music has only grown in depth and creative nuance, and these days, she's making some of her best work yet. Her immersive sound performances at planetariums around Europe bring her music to the venue it was always meant to be in, and these experiences in sharing her sound has sparked a new passion project: a community studio for immersive sound crafted by Emika and funded via Kickstarter. In this month's episode, Emika and I discuss motherhood and its relationship to creativity, and what it means to become “we” as an musician. ++ Music: "Ache" - Emika (2024) "Dilo 22" - Emika (2020) "Sleep in the Day" - Emika (2024) Emika's immersive studio build Kickstarer: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/emikamusic/how-to-make-music-immersive FOLLOW AIR: nstagram: www.instagram.com/_airpodcast/ Patreon: www.patreon.com/airpodcast Substack: airpodcast.substack.com/

Cultisit! Se il DBC fosse un super villain, quale sarebbe il suo scopo ultimo? Ricoprire il mondo con l'oscurità e il disagio? Accogliere tutti nel voluttuoso abbraccio dell'empietà? Dico io… perché no? Ovviamente le armi a nostra disposizione sarebbero giochi e avventure, scagliati su un'ignara quanto brulicante popolazione. Welcome to day 31 of #29DaysofMagic! In today's episode I get to have an excellent conversation with Lidia Bonilla, Pleasure Strategist and founder of House of Plume. We talk about how she started working at only 14 years old, for about two weeks until Domino's discovered that she was not old enough to have the job, how later she went to finance and working in discovering tax fraud and bankroll issues. She discovered that some banks would be helping laundering money, and after becoming disillusioned with how little the banks cared, starting House of Plume during that time she decided to switch to becoming more entrepreneurial based. We talk about how she was able to become the first Adult Brand that was permitted on Kickstarter, which was influential for the future of Kickstarer. We get to talk about how self care is important, and the definition of pleasure in that it is broader than most people think and is about how you experience things. We talk about the differences between coping and pleasure. Boundaries are the best form of self care, which is to say, know how to say "no," to things you don't want to do. Lidia would like you to practice saying "No" for five days, when it feels right, and see how that changes your life. Recently I had the pleasure of interviewing Joost Das, the creator of Ortus, an abstract game for two players that’s been funded in Kickstarer at the time of publishing this podcast. Since we were lucky enough to get a copy of the game before the campaign ended, we thought a podcast episode would be a good idea. Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray sat down and played the game for you. If you have some spare money this month, you might want to head to the Kickstarter page for the game and pledge your money. If the Kickstarter campaign has already finished, then you might want to buy the game, because it sounds like it’s a pretty decent one!
Brian Tyler and Jonathan Miley sit down with Daniel DiCicco of Zer0Sum Games and talk about his first game, Stardrive. They discuss the game's Kickstarer campaign, the release, and why Daniel chose to use a publisher over self-publishing venues like Steam Greenlight.
