John Solomon and Michael Chamberlain discuss the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and its funding of the Global Disinformation Index (GDI) to suppress conservative voices and Trump's message. The grant, which started in July 2020 and was supposed to end in September 2022, was canceled due to publicity. GDI's reports boasted of diverting $100 million in ad revenue from conservative sites on their dynamic exclusion list. The work, initially framed as academic research, was actually about demonetizing and de-amplifying dissenting voices. The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) documents revealed GDI's impact on American politics and media. Later, esteemed legal expert Dr. John Eastman analyzes the implications of the recent Supreme Court decisions, particularly those affecting President Trump's immigration policies and the contentious issue of birthright citizenship. Dr. Eastman shares his insights on the evolving dynamics within the judiciary and the potential constitutional crises looming on the horizon. Finally, Shannon Davis, CEO of American Alternative Assets, discusses the economy and how precious metals can help you plan for your financial future.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Easterns are the most widely distributed subspecies of the American wild turkey and primarily are found east of the Mississippi River. They are also the most abundant. In fact, you can find them in 38 states and numerous Canadian provinces. Known for their chestnut-brown tip, strong gobbles and longer beards, these birds draw countless hunters to the turkey woods each spring. To cover many of the things that make this subspecies special, we welcome guests Spring Legion's Hunter Farrior, NWTF Editor Matt Stewart and the wild turkey doc himself, Dr. Michael Chamberlain.

Join Living the Dream Outdoors Podcast hosts Bill Cooper and Justin Bruehl as they talk turkey with Dr. Michael Chamberlain at the National Wild Turkey Federation National Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. A wild turkey research biologist of over 30 years at Georgia State University, Dr. Chamberlain is regarded as the premiere turkey research biologist in the nation. He discusses wild turkey biology, the decline of the turkey population in the last 20 years, and some unusual causes of the decline. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, however. Every turkey hunter will want to hear this information packed episode of Living the Dream Outdoors Podcast. You'll find it on most social media platforms.
In this episode, the NWTF's Paul Campbell sits down with renowned wild turkey biologist Dr. Mike Chamberlain to dive deep into one of the most fascinating developments in modern turkey research — the wildturkeyDNA project. They explore how a casual Super Bowl Sunday conversation sparked a groundbreaking initiative to uncover the origins of odd plumage in wild turkeys and what it could mean for conservation. Dr. Chamberlain breaks down how turkey hunters can contribute to this innovative study, what the team hopes to learn about color variations, hybridization and genetic diversity, and why these findings could help shape the future of wild turkey populations across North America. The two also share some entertaining hunting stories, discuss the influence of legendary biologist Lovett Williams, and talk about the launch of the new 'Spurred' video series coming from Wild Turkey Lab. If you've ever seen a turkey that looked just a little "off," this episode will have you rethinking what might really be behind those feathers. And if you're a turkey hunter, this is your chance to be part of the science. Learn more or get involved: wildturkeyDNA.com Follow on Instagram: @WildTurkeyDNA

Michael Chamberlain's fascination with wild turkeys began in his suburban childhood outside Richmond, Virginia, nurtured by Saturday hunting trips with his diesel mechanic father. Inspired by a wildlife biologist friend of his father's, Chamberlain pursued his passion for wildlife biology at Virginia Tech, specializing in fisheries and wildlife science. In graduate school, Chamberlain's research focused on wild turkeys in the Mississippi Delta, where he combined his love of hunting with academic study. This hands-on experience, involving capturing turkeys, attaching radio transmitters, and tracking their movements, cemented his career in turkey research. Chamberlain has uncovered intricate social behaviors in wild turkeys, noting their tendency to be social for most of the year but solitary during reproduction. His studies reveal turkeys' complex social structures and hierarchies, similar to humans, and their regional subspecies variations. He highlights the historical domestication of turkeys, leading to today's large, non-flying commercial breeds, and contrasts their leaner, wilder counterparts. An advocate for sustainable hunting, Chamberlain shares tips and emphasizes the importance of mentorship for aspiring hunters. His extensive research addresses concerns about declining turkey populations, particularly in the southeast and midwest.
When childhood fascination grows into a lifetime of expertise, you get someone like Michael Chamberlain. Join us as Michael, from the University of Georgia, sits down with us to weave tales of his evolution from a suburban Virginia kid to a turkey hunting aficionado and wildlife management expert. His vibrant stories bridge the gap between the rush of the hunt and the meticulous science that supports it, offering a deeper appreciation for these magnificent birds and the ecosystems they inhabit.Venturing into the thicket of hunting regulations and the art of land stewardship, we tackle pressing matters such as non-resident hunting pressures, the decline of trapping, and its ripple effects on predator and turkey populations. It's not all numbers and statistics, though; our discussion also gets personal as we recount the hunts that have left an indelible mark on us, and share insights on how state agencies juggle the often conflicting interests of conservation and hunter satisfaction. It's a candid look at the hurdles and triumphs in the hunt for balance within wildlife management politics.Lastly, we turn the lens on ourselves as hunters, doling out advice for newcomers to the turkey hunting scene. Learning from the ground up, we emphasize the importance of understanding turkey biology, seeking mentorship, and developing a stewardship over the land. This episode isn't just about recounting adventures and analyzing trends; it's about fostering a community of outdoorsmen and women who are as passionate about conservation as they are about the thrill of the hunt. So, whether you're an expert tracker or just starting to tread the trails, this conversation is sure to enrich your next foray into the wild.Support the showHope you guy's enjoy! In an under-the-radar move, the US government allowed an energy organization working on an offshore wind venture off Massachusetts' coast to forgo taxpayer protection fees. This came to light after assessments of internal paperwork by independent parties. Specifically, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) notified Vineyard Wind about the relinquishment of a decommissioning costs assurance fee on June 15, 2021, according to a letter procured by civic watchdog Protect the Public's Trust (PPT). Under federal law, developers are typically required to remit such a fee before initiating construction on their leased land, which ensures that the federal property will be restored to its original condition upon lease termination. Michael Chamberlain, the director of PPT, aired his dismay to the press, rhetorically asking if there existed worse optics than this scenario. The director's criticism stems from the perception that this act undermines the administration's declaration of being the ethical standard-bearer. Chamberlain highlighted that the recent Deputy Interior Secretary, Tommy Beadreau, was at one time professionally connected with the Vineyard Wind project. Beadreau served as a legal advisory at Latham & Watkins and has shown to have formerly represented Vineyard Wind, as evidenced by his 2021 financial disclosure.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this episode of Huntin' Land Podcast, Joe and guest co-host Matt Horton have a lively and informative discussion on improving wild turkey populations on leased land with guests Dr. Will Gulsby and Dr. Michael Chamberlain. Dr. Gulsby and Dr. Chamberlain explain that certain practices such as bushhogging, feeding, baiting, and planting open areas, must be avoided, as research shows they can harm wild turkey populations. However, through various conservation and management practices, such as trapping nest predators, trapping wild turkey predators, approaching the landlord with monetary compensation or grants to implement prescribed fire, and planting and maintaining native vegetation, hunters and land managers can take concrete steps to improve the habitat and overall turkey population. Although each practice leads to its own rewards and should be tailored to the individual's needs, the guests recommend trapping predators, planting native vegetation, and approaching the landlord with a monetary proposal or grant to get the most bang for your buck regarding habitat improvement. Furthermore, the guests offer tips on how listeners can keep up with the latest wild turkey research. They encourage podcast listeners, hunters, and land managers to stay in touch with their work and follow along on social media. Matt's various styles of art range from introspective and nostalgic to the curios and quirky, much like the many phases of life. His realist acrylic pieces carve light and shadow out of blank canvas, drawing the viewer back to quiet times and simple existences. Matt's more whimsical black and white line creations bend and skew reality to create a contemporary, yet timeless feel, often with a pop of color for excitement. He calls this collection work "SKEWZme" art due to their ability to elbow their way into the mind's eye. The "Some Beach" collection usually depicts a wry seagull causing a local spectacle - as seagulls often do.Matt's work can be seen on his website and in person at the Cary Gallery of Artists, in charming downtown Cary, NC as well as the 311 Gallery and For Your Convenience Gallery in Raleigh.IG: @matthirsheimerMatt's artist recommendations: Michael Chamberlain, painter Support the show

After watching Michael's videos and seeing what he was able to create, I was fascinated! I invited Michael on my podcast to chat with me about his personal journey and his amazing mindset. With this episode of the Ryan Furrer Podcast I was joined by Thee Turkey Doctor- Dr, Michael Chamberlain. Wow! Michael has dedicated his life to wild turkey research, research that has helped state agencies keep a huntable population in their states since the re-introduction days for hunters to enjoy. The amount of information Michael and his students (past and present) have about the wild turkey is literally mind blowing. We honestly barely scratched the surface. So that's why I persuaded Michael to come back on to bring more "turkey talk" in the next few weeks. From peak gobbling times, to brood laying, predators, turkey survival rates, DNA testing, incubation periods etc, the list goes on, we talked about it. I cant stress enough the amount of info Michael is armed with when it comes to wild turkeys, and the fact that at the end of the day he's like most others, just a "down to earth" solid, good guy, that likes to hunt turkeys. So please- sit back and listen to the show, it's a good one. I hope you enjoy it as much as I. Thanks!
Jason opens the show discussing Monomoy Girl's seasonal debut in the Bayakoa at Oaklawn Park. He also discusses some of the other news and debates of the racing day. Then we welcome in announcer Michael Chamberlain to talk about his new job at Hoosier Park, leaving Evangeline Downs, and more!
Alice Lynne "Lindy" Chamberlain-Creighton (born 4 March 1948) is a New Zealand-born woman who was wrongfully convicted in one of Australia's most publicized murder trials. Accused of killing her nine-week-old daughter, Azaria, while camping at Uluru in 1980, she maintained that she saw a dingo leave the tent where Azaria was sleeping. The prosecution case was circumstantial and depended on forensic evidence.Chamberlain was convicted on 29 October 1982, and her appeals to the Federal Court of Australia, and High Court of Australia, were dismissed. On 7 February 1986, after the discovery of new evidence, Chamberlain was released from prison on remission. She and her husband Michael Chamberlain, co-accused, were officially pardoned in 1987, and their convictions were quashed by the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 1988. In 1992, the Australian government paid Chamberlain $1.3 million in compensation. In 2012, a fourth coroner's inquest found that Azaria died "as a result of being attacked and taken by a dingo".Source Material:1) Youtube documentaries 2) Wikipedia3) Evil Angels (Movie)4) Through my eyes (the autobiography of Lindy Chamberlain)5) Music from Pixabay royalty free music.

On the 40th anniversary of the disappearance of Azaria Chamberlain, Michael is joined by Malcolm Brown, journalist, editor and author who covered the Chamberlain case extensively for The Herald. Azaria Chantel Loren Chamberlain was two months old when she was killed by a dingo on the night of 17 August 1980, on a family camping trip to Uluru in the Northern Territory. Her parents, Lindy and Michael Chamberlain, reported that she had been taken from their tent by a dingo but the body was never found. Lindy Chamberlain was, however, tried for murder and spent more than three years in prison but released when a piece of Azaria's clothing was found near a dingo lair, and new inquests were opened. In 2012, 32 years after Azaria's death, the Chamberlains' version of events was officially supported by a coroner who was highly critical of the police investigation. Michael Chamberlain says that if Vincent Van Gogh were alive today, he would be a vlogger on YouTube. Van Gogh was a prolific letter writer to an audience of one - his brother Theo. However, as a vlogger on YouTube van Gogh’s message would likely reach hundreds of thousands of fans. As a 21st century California-based impressionist, Michael inspires an audience on YouTube of well over 160,000 subscribers. In his videos, he tries to show the mistakes he makes. He candidly admits that none of the paintings in his videos are gallery ready. Upon returning to his home studio, he tenaciously works out whatever problems they may have until they are ready to hang in a gallery. You know that old adage, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?” Michael says it isn’t true! He says an old dog has more time and experiences that can make us better students of painting. The key to learning is coming to grips with the rate of failure. Failure is a necessary part of the process. When first starting out learning to paint it’s all too easy to believe in the myth of the genius. Michael admonishes that we can’t allow ourselves to buy into the illusion that professional artists turn out one great painting after another. Indeed, there are many failures in between the good ones. Michael says that the difference between a good painter and a great painter is the ability to say “I’m going to figure this out and I’m going to be tenacious about solving these problems.” And that is exactly what he strives to do: Michael Chamberlain is tenaciously forging his own way. In this episode, we discuss the many trials and tribulations of Lindy and Michael Chamberlain, as they were accused of murdering their daughter Azaria. We go through the inquests, the trials, the evidence, the fuck-ups, the acquittal, the inquests again, that took place over the thirty plus years from when Azaria went missing to when finally, finally, a judge officially decided that yes, in fact, a dingo did take the baby.YOU GUYS. This is our last episode (of this series)! We’ve gone around Australia with you, telling the best and worst stories of Aussie murders, and we’ve loved every shriek-filled second of it. We’re going on a short break, but you’ll still get some juicy MITLOO content. Keep your eye out for a few minisodes before we’re back with our full-length episodes soon!EPISODE NOTES:Lindy Chamberlain spent four years wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of her daughter, Azaria. It took a dedicated effort from her supports, her defence team, the witnesses to the attack, and a community of scientists dedicated to uncovering the truth for her conviction to be overturned. One after the other, pieces of evidence were proven to be incorrect. The blood in the car was sound-deadening spray. The haemoglobin tests were inaccurate. Dingoes were more than capable of carrying babies in their mouths. And, most importantly, Azaria Chamberlain had been wearing a white matinee jacket when she died – which was found five years after her death, when the police were examining the area for the body of another person who met their end at Uluru.Although Lindy was released from prison, it would take until 2012 for her to truly be considered innocent – and for the dingo to truly be considered guilty, I guess. Our main source this week was Evil Angels, by John Bryson. As the sun set over Uluru on August 17th, 1980, Lindy and Michael Chamberlain put their two month old baby Azaria to bed. What happened next is burnt into the collective consciousness of not just Australia but the world. This won’t be like most episodes of True Crime Conversations, mostly, because in this case there was no crime. Instead, it was one of the most significant and devastating miscarriages of justice Australia has ever seen. So impactful was the handling of this case that forensic science in Australia was completely overhauled and as a result we’re now one of the leading countries in the field. Host Jessie Stephens speaks to legal scholar, criminologist and historian Katherine Biber about the case of Lindy Chamberlain and the death of her daughter Azaria. “A dingo took my baby!” is one of the most famous lines in film history, but how does the movie itself hold up? Theo joins us as we head to the Australian outback for the Meryl Streep/Sam Neill true crime drama A Cry in the Dark (Evil Angels in Australia)! The film follows the infamous Azaria Chamberlain case, in which a months-old baby girl was tragically lost and killed out in the outback, and their parents, Lindy (Meryl Streep, in one of her many Academy Award-nominated performances) and Michael Chamberlain (Sam Neill) are put on trial for murder. The film’s surprisingly great, with two strong performances centering a sensitive and complex drama about the way media affects public perception of events, the willingness of a discriminatory public to think the worst of grieving parents, the coding of women’s behavior in the public eye, and more. We can’t honestly recommend the film enough, along with our custom cocktail and drinking game!
Core Worlds was published by Stronghold Games in 2011 and was designed by the – rather talented – Andrew Parks. If you just follow its description, Core Worlds probably won’t interest you very much since there are *a lot* of games that sound like it: Deck builder, Science Fiction, Space Exploration. I know, yawn. But this game is special. I didn’t believe it when Michael Chamberlain told me, but this game is special. So when in G*M*S Central we decided to record some podcasts with our favourite games, games we’ve played time and time again and love to bits and we’d take to a desert island, Core Worlds was brought forward by said Michael with the speed of thought. That was pretty fast. So here you have it, a special episode with a review of our favourite game. Enjoy the show! Remember you can follow us on Twitter and Google+! Thank you for your support.
Hive, has been out for quite a long time now and it is a very popular game. Well balanced, deep, tons of replayability and fun. Very good fun. One only has to look at the list of reputable publishers that have put their weight behind this game to realise that, despite its unassuming looks, this game is as solid as the pieces that form it. And let me tell you they are *very* solid. So did this game need expansions? Did its core mechanics need any sort of additions for gameplay’s sake? Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray sat down at the table and played them for the first time so they can tell you all about it! Hope you enjoy the show!Remember you can follow us on Twitter and Google+!
This is no secret: Michael Chamberlain takes this game to bed just like you take a teddy bear. Seriously. He *loves* this game more than I can tell. Funnily enough, this is a game that plenty of people dismissed before it even funded in Kickstarter because of the theme: you have to create your fishing fleet and make money with it. And that sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not. I mean, it is because the game mechanics are actually pretty simple and extremely elegant, but there is so much depth to this game that you’ll be able to play time and time again and never be bored. And now that the expansions are out and in the hands of the backers, have they done it right and actually added to the game? Well, we’re going to find out! Hope you enjoy the show!
I haven’t played an Euro with good theme since O2. And that wasn’t a game for beginners either. In fact it was quite a hard day. Michael Chamberlain was very excited about this one but, since for him a headache induced by a game is the best way to rate how good a game is, I was a bit apprehensive. The fact that this game is by Michael Kiesling and Wolfgang Kramer did put me at ease a bit, but not much. It sounded like a heavy game and I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy it. Then we started to play it and I have to say this game surprised me… a lot. As well as looking totally gorgeous, the game plays with some mechanics and mechanisms that surprised me in the best possible way. Hope you enjoy the show!
I have learned to trust Michael Chamberlain when is about games. He kinda knows things I don’t. Tons of things. One of the things he knows how to do is spot great ideas and great sounding games in Kickstarter, and that’s exactly what he has done with Scoville. We got together with Ed Marriot and interview him about his game of chilly peppers farming. Must say it sounds a great deal more promising than I expected. I am not particularly into farming games and I need theme in euro games for me to be interested in them. Scoville certainly has that. A game in which you cross-breed chilli peppers to get the best plants out there. Result! Oh… and it looks gorgeous too! Hope you enjoy the show!
By Paco Garcia Jaen, Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray Firefly, a boardgame with the simple motto Find a Crew, Find a Job. Keep Flying. Can it do justice to the series that inspired it? Firefly is a very much loved Science Fiction series. It surprised everyone when it turned out to be very, very decent, and it has a legion of loyal followers – and rightly so! – who are claiming and longing to see more of the series. So it was kind of expected that, at some point, a board game would be released. I think by now we can start relaxing a bit when we see a licensed game. There are lots of very good games out there that have been licensed. Firefly happens to be one of them! Produced by Gale Force Nine, the game tries to re-create the flavour and atmosphere of the series with a well looked after and detailed art direction, plenty of photos and plenty of game. There are lots and lots of parts to this game indeed! But does it play well? We learned the rules, sat down and recorded our impressions after playing the game for the first time. Hopefully will help you decide you want this game! Hope you enjoy the show!
By Paco Garcia Jaen, Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray Steam Park comes from the company that entertained us with Dungeon Fighter released this lovely looking game at Spiel 2013. With cute looks and some delightful art work by the same artist that gave Dixit its idiosyncratic and recognisable feel, the assembly parts that come with this game do promise quite a lot. The charming theme, creating your own theme park to entertain and delight your visitors. Simple, right? Not so fast! You’ll have to keep your park clean and well looked after to earn money, and if you also complete your missions successfully, you’ll make even more money! And all this in a family game! We sat around and had a game to find out if Steam Park is as family friendly and as lovely as it seems. Hope you enjoy the show!
Everyone knows that angels and demons are going to fight, like they do in Kingdom. That’s what they do because… because they’re angels and demons. And there are kingdoms to conquer and one can’t stand each other. Who needs any more reasons? Exactly. Black Locust Games decided to make a game based on the theme. This is a card game for two players full of absolutely gorgeous looking cards in which the players rage a battle to win control of the universe. The copy we received was a pre-production copy, so we can’t comment on how good or how much better the final product will be, but it is pretty good already and the cards felt very nice, so I can imagine the final version will be pretty stunning. Although the game wasn’t in Kickstarter when the podcast was recorded, it’s getting funded at the time of publishing this podcast and we sincerely hope you’ll take a look at it because it’s certainly well worth it. Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray have taken a look at the game and they liked it… that’s quite an endorsement! Hope you enjoy the show!
Welcome back friends to the Boardgame Review Room. In this episode we take a look at 1911 Admunsen vs Scott, a game inspired by the epic race that took place in 1911 and saw the to legendary explorer’s teams compete to be the first human beings to reach the South Pole. This is an asymmetric game for two players in which both try to reach the South Pole using two different routes. Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray sat down and had a go at this game to find out what it is like to play it for the first time. It seems it’s quite good! Hope you enjoy the show!
Let me make this *very* clear: I don’t like Poker. At all. I find it a pretty pointless game that people take too seriously and doesn’t serve any purpose because I don’t find it fun. I know a lot of people like it. I know a lot of people sing its praises, but it’s just not for me. Therefore, when Sirlin Games asked me if I wanted to playtest and review their game Pandante, I was a bit.. err… “meh!”. I was feeling that way because Pandante is, basically, Poker with a few bits and bobs added. The bits and bobs added, though, turn it into a game that I was curious enough to actually say “yes, I’ll review it”. Pandante is like Poker, but with lying, bluffing (no… bluffing more than in normal Poker) and abilities. And Pandas! Lots and lots of Pandas! So I sat down with Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray in the review room and we played it. And we recorded our impressions. If you are on time, you might want to head now to Kickstarter and back this project. If you aren’t on time, you might want to get a copy… it’s been funded, so it should be available. If it isn’t available, get it from someone else. Just make sure you get this game.
I got this game because Stephen Buonocore sold it to me. Literally. I was in Spiel last year, went to see the man, saw he had a ton of really cool games and asked him "What should I buy from you that's good?". Almost without hesitation, he reached behind him and said "Get this! The board is gorgeous and is a terrific game!". So I did. Now I sit around a table with Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray to play it for the first time and find out if Stephen gave me something good, of if I should give him a call and piece of my mind. And some of you know I have a dirty mind. A piece of that wouldn't be nice! Hope you enjoy the show!
And the biggest and best convention of the year is almost under way. Michael Chamberlain and I have been hard at work - well, mostly Michael - finding out what could be interesting and what games we want to take a proper look at this year. Also who we'll be interviewing. We asked a bunch of people to send us some clips as well, describing what their games are all about and why we should be interested in getting them. This episode is a one-off and is a wee-bit longer than usual, but we have *so much* stuff to go through that we, simply, couldn't make it any shorter. Still, hope it'll give you a good idea of what's to come and, if you can't make it to Spiel, head to your shop and start pre-ordering/nagging them to get the games you want. There are many game you want. Trust me...
Recently I had the pleasure of interviewing Joost Das, the creator of Ortus, an abstract game for two players that’s been funded in Kickstarer at the time of publishing this podcast. Since we were lucky enough to get a copy of the game before the campaign ended, we thought a podcast episode would be a good idea. Michael Chamberlain and Max Murray sat down and played the game for you. If you have some spare money this month, you might want to head to the Kickstarter page for the game and pledge your money. If the Kickstarter campaign has already finished, then you might want to buy the game, because it sounds like it’s a pretty decent one!
Azaria Chamberlain was an Australian baby girl who was killed by a dingo on a family camping trip to Uluru in the Northern Territory. Her body was never found. Her parents, Lindy and Michael Chamberlain, reported that she had been taken from their tent by a dingo, but Lindy was tried for murder and spent more than three years in prison. She was released when a piece of Azaria's clothing was found in a dingo lair. New inquests were opened. In 2012, 32 years after Azaria's death, the Chamberlains' version of events was confirmed by a coroner. Glen Cranny examines Lindy Chamberlain case, involving as it does interesting issues of law, scientific evidence and public perceptions of the justice system. Glen Cranny has specialised in criminal defence work since 1995 and is today recognised as one of the most prominent criminal lawyers in Queensland. Over the last decade he has been actively involved in presenting and organising papers and seminars on criminal law, for bodies such as the Queensland Law Society, LawAsia, and the Queensland College of Law.
