Interview with Andrew Lopez: “No feeling is final” - The Journey of an Entrepreneur In this episode I interview Andrew Lopez from California, who has a video production company and the mission to connect small business owners around the world through the vessel of video. What a powerful episode! We touched on loneliness versus connection on the entrepreneurial journey. On how to deal with feelings being a sensitive and empath. Which is where the transformative words "No feeling is final" and "Your feelings have to be in the passengers seat, but YOU have to stay in the drivers seat" came up. ✨ Make sure to listen to this episode on getting the ideas, the energy, spark and wisdom of the young generation on board. Andrew is a millennial and brings amazing enthusiasm, skill and impact into our world. I would say, lots to learn from!
This #yaysofourlives episode coming to you from lockdown for the FOURTH time. To my fellow Victorians, sending you ALL my love and if you've been reading my dear diary reflections on socials you'll know that I as much as anyone need the reminder to be gentle on yourselves with your response to this round. Whether you're swinging between productivity pressure or beating yourselves up for being the opposite of productive or between sadness or frustration and guilt for enjoying parts of it or even beating yourself up for having a reaction at all because it's only seven days long, just let go of it all and remember it's normal to respond to abnormal situations with abnormal reactions. And if the emotions you are sitting in are nonetheless starting to feel really overwhelming, this week's quote of the yay is one I pulled from last week's episode with Hugh van Cuylenberg (which I'm so pleased has had an outpouring of love): "Let everything happen to you. Beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final" - Rainer Marie Rilke. Another one I love is from Charlie Chaplin is "Nothing is permanent in this wicked world - not even our troubles", which I needed today because I've been pretty flat and tired and wasn't feeling the yay when I first tried to record this ep on my own... SO I put in a last minute call to two legends that I LOVED chatting with recently who I knew could lift the energy for this episode and I'm SO glad I did!!! Lachie Bradford and Robbie Hicks are the hosts of Funny Business - a cracking podcast for free thinkers and creators exploring business culture and performance in Australia. Such a great laugh and catch up - I hope it made you smile! In his letters and poetry, Austrian writer Rainer Maria Rilke urged readers to “love the questions” instead of searching for answers, and to “sing out” with pain solitude causes them. His writing seems tailor-made for our own era — a dark interval of uncertainty, solitude, and grief.

As head of ABC Audio Studios for the last decade, Kellie Riordan was responsible for some of Australia’s most loved podcasts. Riordan championed a diverse slate of shows, from the true crime series Unravel, Ladies We Need To Talk, and an unflinching look at someone experiencing a mental health crisis, No Feeling Is Final. “I've had the privilege to make, or be part of the making of a lot of great shows over the last few years.” says Riordan. “To see the escalation in the amount of great podcast content in the Australian market over the last few years is, it's great. It really makes me super proud.” See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Inevitably, throughout our lives, we will all experience both the beauty and terror of what are called the 8 Worldly Winds, which can arrive in varying degrees –sometimes as a gentle breeze; at other times like a gusting tornado. Either way, the way we work with these winds is what determines how much they affect us as they’re passing through. This new talk explores how we can use our practice to discover and take refuge in that calm, still point that rests in the center of this storm we call life.

Sam and Simone discuss the slow return to work for many individuals and companies and how cities and rural areas will have different challenges to overcome. As lockdown starts to lift in Arizona, Sam visited a restaurant and talks about the extensive safety measures that had been put in place. Listener Stacey got in touch to ask how to deal with negative feelings that so many of us are experiencing during this time and the pair discuss how it’s so important to allow yourself to feel everything – both good and bad, with a little help from the poet Rilke. And Life Lessons come all the way from Australia – via Liverpool with Karen Thompson from Communicate U. Tell us your stories of work and life in these strange times or share your life lessons! It particularly seems distorted right now. You know I know 7 people who have died in the last 10 days from the virus - 5 of them from the virus and 2 from old age. It seems like it's an avalanche of loss and it makes me feel that time is going too fast. You used to get time to process a loss and a death and it’s not happening right now.” - Rosanne CashPaul Holdengräber is an interviewer and curator of public curiosity. You know about reading between the lines, right? Well good sound design can make you dance between the lines. And when you’re talking about big, uncomfortable ideas — sound can be a super powerful tool to have on hand.Suicide often reminds us of those four magic words: "just ask for help." But Honor Eastly knows it’s not that simple. She’s been there and back, and has the receipts to prove it — years of phone recordings and diary entries from the inside. From this mountain of source material, a podcast was born/emerged! That podcast: No Feeling Is Final. In this session from the 2019 Third Coast Conference, Honor and executive producer Joel Werner broke down how they took Honor’s life and turned it into a super-creative & sound-rich six-part series. They shared audio diary tape, and discussed where/when to use it (and when/how to reconstruct scenes). They talked about the power of a first person perspective, negotiating between a compelling narrative and life’s utter messiness, trust, shared taste, and how a sense of humor can shine a light in the darkest places.Sign up for Producer News to stay up to date on the latest from Third Coast. The 2019 Third Coast Pocket Conference season was co-produced by Neroli Price and Isabel Vázquez. Honor Eastly is a writer, artist, podcaster and mental health worker who has made a career of talking about the stuff most of us really don't want to talk about. Her podcasts Being Honest With My Ex and Starving Artist explored love, heartbreak, rejection, anger, cash, creativity, and class.Last year she teamed up with the ABC to create No Feeling Is Final, that traced her own mental health story. Like all her work it dealt with money, heartbreak, depression, and suicide. Alongside the strange, mundane, day-to-day realities of sometimes wanting to die. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
In 'No Feeling is Final ' from the ABC the writer and podcaster Honor Eastly presents a highly personal account of her experiences of living with anxiety and suicidal thoughts. The show weaves together years' worth of audio diaries with scripted narrative and recreations of scenes from her past. It creates a moving memoir about mental health that's difficult and heartbreaking and confronting at times, but also speaks powerfully and with humour about the experience of living with a cruel voice in your head that's always trying to put you down. We play some of Episode 1 of 'No Feeling Is Final' from the ABC called The Voice presented by Honor Eastly, produced by Alice Moldovan, the sound engineer's Russell Stapleton, and the Executive Producer is Joel Werner.
