MONSTER PARTY IS GOING TO DRIVE YOUR BLU-RAY PLAYER MAD!!! JAMES GONIS, SHAWN SHERIDAN, LARRY STROTHE, and MATT WEINHOLD plunge into the depths of delightful depravity as they seek to dig up the world's most unusual cinematic treasures. Whether it's a birthday, Valentine's Day, or an anniversary, give your loved ones some… TWISTED BLU-RAY GEMS! In these days of video streaming, many have prematurely predicted the fall of physical media. While mainstream sales of CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays have declined, several niche companies are thriving by offering hard-to-find and sometimes virtually unknown horror, sci-fi, fantasy, martial arts, and exploitation films. This kind of entertainment may not be for everyone, but if, like us, you like your entertainment on the wild side, have we got some movies for you! In this episode, the gang will be celebrating a selection of films ranging from works by cult film masters to Z-list auteurs, and everything in between. It's a subgenre where the restrictions of taste, budget, and production actually led to the creation of some truly unique artistic visions. We'll also get a first-person account of the loving care that goes into preserving these often overlooked celluloid classics. And what classics they are! We've got folk horror frights, kung fu-capable combatants, a forty-year-old child, a voting-age infant, a zoom lens with no shame, a sasquatch who smashes a crotch, and so much more! Joining us for this bacchanal of Blu-rays is a first-time guest and a man perfectly suited for this topic. Aside from being a member of the DJ collective RENDEZVOUS! and founder of the record label EMPIRE OF TOMBS, he is content manager and representative for the company that will fulfill all your twisted Blu-ray dreams, SEVERIN FILMS! MONSTER PARTY is very proud to welcome… ETHAN HULL! AND A WARNING: IF YOU'RE EVER IN BIGFOOT COUNTRY… HOLD IT!

The Ghastly Ones (1968), The Man with Two Heads (1972), and Carnage (1984) There are not many filmmakers like Andy Milligan. Sure, there were a lot of no-budget independents during Milligan's era that somehow got their finished pictures to play theaters and released on home video. But there weren't many whose real life was almost as terrifying as the films they made. But Andy Milligan would fit neatly into that category. Making over 30 pictures in almost 25 years, with some of the most outrageous and memorable titles, he still remains very close to obscurity. But he does have some fans out there. In fact, in September of 2021, Severin Films released The Dungeon of Andy Milligan, a box set that included over a dozen of his films, packed with extras. As that set has lived on fan's shelves for a while now, it seemed a good time to take a look into this strange filmmaker and three of his films. But a warning... his films are not for everyone. Some quirky critics refer to them as high school stage plays that were filmed. They can be mean. Talky. Bizarre camerawork. And pretty shoddy makeup. Nonetheless, they still have a charm to them… to some fans, at least. So take your next steps with caution, and as the saying goes, "Well... we warned you." Films mentioned in this episode: Blood (1973), Bloodthirsty Butchers (1970), The Body Beneath (1970), Carnage (1984), Depraved (1967), The Degenerates (1967), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1932), Dr. Jekyll vs. The Werewolf (1972), Edge of Sanity (1989), Frankenstein (1931), The Ghastly Ones (1968), House of Seven Belles (1979), Legacy of Blood (1978), Mad Ron's Prevues from Hell (1987), The Man with Two Heads (1972), Pelvis (1977), The Promiscuous Sex (1967), The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here! (1972), Torture Dungeon (1969)

THE SWIMMER (1968) We dive deep in to The Swimmer and discuss and analyze, maybe just a little bit the glorious film directed by Frank Perry, based on a screenplay by Eleanor Perry, from the 12 page short story by John Cheever. "Well-off ad man Ned Merrill (Burt Lancaster) is visiting a friend when he notices the abundance of backyard pools that populate their upscale suburb. Ned suddenly decides that he'd like to travel the eight miles back to his own home by simply swimming across every pool in town."If you're reading this I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. The story so far: Still stuck in the movie hole for over a year now, the boys search for new ways to entertain themselves. This week on Stabby Stabby, we make due with what we have (i.e. a pile of bones!) and start a new band! Sadly none of us know how to play bones, so we check out the folklore-heavy British/Turkish coproduction of 1987s Born of Fire to get us there! While marveling at the beauty of the Turkish landscapes, we delve into discussing rental coffins and naked bald men, and invent both a new Dairy Queen movie tie-in flavor AND a specialty pair of cargo shorts! Buckle in as we get confused about Djinn lore and boba tea moth babies because it's a wild ride!Leave us a 30 second voicemail and if we like it we'll play it on the show: (949) 4-STABBY (949-478-2229)Next movie announced every Wednesday. SITC is back in the studio with this long-awaited episode covering the softcore juggernaut that is the Emmanuelle film franchise!  Expert Bryan Connolly joins Torie to dissect this smutty phenomenon which is SO expansive and SO diverse, it's basically an ecosystem. From Thailand to Africa, to Outer Space, Emmanuelle knows no bounds. In the original EMMANUELLE (1974) starring Sylvia Kristel, we watch Emmanuelle the girl become Emmanuelle the woman thanks to a few trips to the Mile High Club and guidance from a mansplaining creep named Mario. We take a detour outside of official Emmanuelle "canon" with EMANUELLE AND THE WHITE SLAVE TRADE (1978), one of the many (and one of the best) ripoffs that make up the multifaceted Emmanuelle universe. Starring Laura Gemser, Emanuelle with One M is a slick and ambitious journalist with the savvy and sexual appetite to rival James Bond. We conclude our journey with the first installment of Emmanuelle's Skinemax/ straight-to-video era, EMMANUELLE: FIRST CONTACT (1994). Starring Krista Allen, Emmanuelle takes her sage-like knowledge of sex to outer space where she educates hunky alien Halfron and his brethren about the joys and politics of human sexuality.    — Bryan Connolly is a writer and filmmaker in Austin, TX. Thanks to a lifelong obsession with the Emmanuelle films, his encyclopedic knowledge has cemented him as a de-facto Emmanuelle expert. Bryan has contributed to Severin Films' Black Emanuelle Box Set, the Emmanuelle comic book series from Fantagraphics, and is currently writing a colossal tome covering every Emmanuelle movie ever made. Bryan's cinema expertise also extends well beyond the boundaries of Emmanuelle. He is the co-host of the podcast The Directors Wall alongside A.J. Gonzalez, the author of Destroy All Movies: The Complete History of Punks on Film, a feature filmmaker, and much more.  LINKS! Listen to The Directors Wall podcast here! TVC 676.3: Ed and guest co-host Chuck Harter welcome Erica Gavin, the actress known around the world as the star of Vixen! (1968), the satiric sexploitation movie produced, directed, and co-written by Russ Meyer that esteemed critic Roger Ebert once described as "the quintessential Russ Meyer film." Despite numerous attempts at censorship (including one of the first-ever X ratings and twenty-three separate U.S. prosecutions for obscenity), Vixen! became one of the top-grossing movies of 1968, forever changing the face of independent film making while remaining the creative template for Meyer's unapologetic vision of American cinema. Topics discussed this segment include the various taboo issues that Meyer tackled in Vixen! (nymphomania, racism, communism, draft dodging, lesbianism, and incest) and how the maverick filmmaker was both of his time and ahead of his time. It's a monster mash on this fresh from the grave episode of DEATH BY DVD all about FRANKY AND HIS PALS, directed by Gerald Cormier. What is Franky And His Pals, you ask? Well, let us copy and paste the write up from the official Severinfilms.com website where this movie is available to purchase, because we are to lazy to write something up ourselves and theirs is way better : From the deepest, darkest depths of the shot-on-video vaults… Hidden from view for 30 years… All your favorite movie monsters are back… And they're ready to party like it's 1990! Franky, Drak, Wolfy, Mummy and Humper – the horny hunchback – descend on the tiny mining town of French Gulch in search of lost gold, but it's Halloween Night, and the monsters soon find themselves caught up in the debaucherous festivities of the local townsfolk. Will Franky and His Pals find the gold? Will they learn the ways of love? Will Drak quench his thirst for human blood? Just how explosive is Franky's flatulence? What's that Mad Scientist tinkering on out in his barn? What the hell is a pee-pee? And does any of it really matter? Directed by veteran grindhouse and adult film producer Gerald Cormier (TERROR CIRCUS a.k.a. BARN OF THE NAKED DEAD, 101 ACTS OF LOVE) and seldom-seen beyond the shelves of small-town video shops, this bizarro monster-comedy is finally being resurrected on DVD and is positively exploding with spooky Special Features! And since I copy and pasted all that from Severin, the least I can do is also add the link so you can buy the movie : TAP HERE FOR THE MOVIEDive into the monster mash with your host Harry-Scott Sullivan and kick back and relax with this hoot and an additional hollar of an episode.
