With the end of the year fast approaching the hot topic on everyone's lips is forgiveness. Whether it be the person that accidentally spilled a can of lager all over your laptop, or the football player that scored the goal that relegated your favourite team, it's time for those feelings of negativity from the past year to be let go. However, some beefs stretch back further than 12 months... some even more than 12 years. Yes, on this week's show John Robins sought to end a two decade-long beef that he's had against one-time Queen-disliker Neil Hannon, lead singer of The Divine Comedy. Would Elis and Producer Dave be able to keep the studio calm enough for a civil discussion to take place? Well, why not jump into today's podcast to find out.As well as all the usual fun, Tony Livesey revealed a missed career opportunity, there's a Made Up Game that the guys performed surprisingly well in, John told us about his fun New Years Eve plans and Elis decided to share his much-anticipated review of John's recent stand up show.

Thankfully for you the you the listener, that meant it was a rollover week. The top prize on offer? That's right, Ivo Graham! So grab your tickets, check your numbers, and get ready to be made a #content millionaire. It was a show jam packed with everything you'd ever want from two hours of broadcasting. There was a Made Up Game that tested the guys' creativity (and Tony Livesey's patience), Elis gave some potentially inaccurate advice about the process of ripening fruit, Ivo taught us about what's coming up in the big-hitting locations of Coventry and Liverpool, and Producer Dave got his heart broken during a scripted intro.

It's a magical pint full of excitement, discussions of tactics and - quite often - chanting. The post-match pint, however, is a differenet story. Will it be a pint of joy, or a pint of sorrow? Either way, football and pinting compliment each other perfectly, and this week's guest knows this only too well. It's presenter and host of Guardian Football Weekly Max Rushden!Max grew up in Cambridge, and studied at Oxford; so he's well versed in the pubs of Oxford that played such an important role in the formative years of Landlord John and Robin. Life, Interrupted with Simon Thomas

At the age of 17, Hope Edelman lost her Mom to breast cancer. After she lost her Dad later in life, she turned her pain into inspiration, as she began a journey to better understand the confusing world of grief. Her first book, "Motherless Daughters" was a number one New York Times best-seller, and now her latest book, "The After Grief", gives a brilliant insight into how we not only process grief, but how loss isn't something we just get over. The BBC Radio Five Live presenter Tony Livesey, who lost his Mum suddenly, when he was just 13 said about Hope's book, that if he'd had a roadmap like this for dealing with grief, it would have changed his childhood. So whether you're someone who's been recently bereaved, or is still struggling with loss from many years ago, or just want to understand grief a little more, than I know that Hope's story, insight and wisdom will help. This interview gives all of us a little more undserstanding about a difficult and confusing aspect of life that one day, we are all going to face. If you have been through life events similar to those described in this episode and you need someone to talk to, please contact the samaritans, free any time, from any phone, on 116 123 And if you'd like to share your thoughts with Simon, he'd love to hear from you: Twitter @SimonThomasSky
