ABOUT THE SUN WILL RISE: Oksana Shevchenko remembers life as it once was. Before the War. Before the Invaders stripped her freedom away. Before the Motherland decided to take what wasn't hers, and call it her own. As the leader of the local Union, thirty-one-year-old Oksana has met her match in enemy officer Lieutenant General Mikhailovich, who will stop at nothing to win glory for the Motherland – and himself.  After he captures the city of Heryvin, the young, ambitious Mikhailovich forces Oksana and her Union comrades to operate the local nuclear power plant for the Motherland's gain, while sapping its capacity to operate safely.  It's a nightmare for a city still reeling from the disastrous Accident that took the lives of dozens – including Oksana's father – decades before. Caught between her loyalty to those resisting the Occupation and a nuclear catastrophe threatened by increasingly impossible orders, Oksana must find a way to defeat Mikhailovich before his sadistic determination leads him to doing the unthinkable.  But Oksana might not be alone in her fight, because war makes heroes out of the ordinary and unlikely. A grandmother defiantly waving the colour of her nation. A principal offering a safe haven for students dreaming of brighter futures. A young adult choosing courage in the face of mortal danger. A country quietly showing that glory belongs to those who dare to hold on against impossible odds.  Because one day soon, the sun will set on dictators.  And the sun will rise on freedom once again. Inspired by true events in Ukraine, The Sun Will Rise is a tribute to those bravely fighting for their freedom – and ours. PRAISE FOR THE SUN WILL RISE: Stirring, brilliant, soulful. An Orwellian tale, evoking the very essence of Ukraine's fight for freedom and our right to exist”  — Kira Rudyk, leading Ukrainian Member of Parliament. “A love letter to the human spirit, Zelinsky's deeply personal coverage of Russia's invasion comes to life in this stunning first novel. An affecting story about the humanity behind the news”  — Wayne Swan, President of the Australian Labor Party, former deputy prime minister and world finance minister of the year.  “Zelinsky's outstanding journalism transported Russian brutality and Ukrainian bravery from the battlefront to our homes. Now, this story gives us a reason to hope”  — Ambassador, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ukraine's Ambassador to Australia. “Misha Zelinsky has penned a gripping book which although fictional, depicts the courage, strength and conviction of the Ukrainian people fighting for their freedom and sovereignty. Once you pick up The Sun Will Rise, you will not be able to put it down.  It is an exciting read.   — Ambassador Paula J. Dobriansky, former Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs (2001-2009) “A gripping page-turner, set in Ukraine in the wake of Russia's invasion. Misha Zelinsky has captured the bravery and humanity of Ukrainians living under occupation, as well as the callousness and cynicism of Vladimir Putin's soldiers. Original, compelling, and topical, The Sun Will Rise is an impressive novel which brings to life recent history.” — Luke Harding, award-winning foreign correspondent with the Guardian and New York Times best selling author of books including Invasion: Russia's Bloody War and Ukraine's Fight for Survival, shortlisted for the Orwell prize. “Zelinsky has turned his superb war reportage into a riveting first novel, inspired by real people and events, but transcending them to convey the heart behind the conflict. If you want to know why Ukrainians fight and why it's our fight too, this is the place to start. Reminiscent of Disraeli—a novelist turned British statesman—a writer with such soul, who knows what makes people and countries great, would be a rare addition to our public life.   — The Hon. Following the Constitution is extreme, Ukraine is freaking out Liberals worry over fraud case and Biden's wall

Today's show opens with my assessment of the political landscape in the 36 hours since Speaker McCarthy's seat was vacated. Since when is it “extreme” to get back to the Constitution as written? When did we get to the point where the rule of law is considered “dangerous”? Former Speaker Newt Gingrich seems to have forgotten he shut the government down twice in an effort to get a balanced budget during the Clinton presidency and it worked. Now we have these talking heads on cable networks demanding Matt Gaetz be expelled from Congress? It's bizarre. Senate Minority Leader Mitch “blank stare” McConnell said his only advice is to get rid of the rule to vacate. RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel said the same thing. At the same time, a Ukrainian Member of Parliament said they are “freaking out” in his country over the ousting of the Speaker. Translation, they want more money and are worried the gravy train has come to an end. All of these people seem to be really worried that a group of 8 Constitutionally oriented Republicans could dethrone the Speaker inside of 9 months. And they should be worried, because that's how it was meant to be! Check and balances. Not power coalesced into the hands of a few. Maybe the only other people who should be more nervous than Ronna McDaniel and Mitch McConnell are a couple of Executives at Sequoia Capital who paid huge sums into both the Senate Leadership Fund and the McCarthy Victory fund to make sure they would not investigate their funding of Communist China military tech and AI. That's a story just now developing and one I'll be following more closely in the coming days/weeks. We are also starting to hear some liberals in media, Universities and real estate express concern over how Donald Trump's NY fraud case is being handled. They see it as over-the-top and unfair. Remember when FBI whistleblower Steve Friend was upset being pulled off of real criminal investigations to infiltrate school board meetings and he said the FBI was looking to criminalize Trump supporters. Well, in a Newsweek article, the FBI confirms they have created a new category of domestic terrorist called Donald Trump's Army of MAGA supporters. We have to get back to our Republic now, before we lose all semblance of the rule of law. ESPN host Sage Steele revealed Biden couldn't finish his sentences and that he is a shell of his former self. She wants to know who is really running the country? On top of that, after reminding you of the Biden policy regarding a wall on our Southern border, it looks like the regime is going to start building more wall. You cannot make this up. Ukrainians are now hunkering down for a cold winter with patchy or limited access to electricity, heat, and water. Vladimir Putin's "special military operation", which was meant to seize Kyiv within 3 days, has now become bogged down in a 10 month-long war of attrition. On this special bonus edition of The MeidasTouch Podcast, we speak with Ukrainian Member of Parliament Dmytro Gurin. Dmytro speaks to us from an undisclosed location in Ukraine about the horrors of the Russian invasion and what we can do to help. While it's great to chat with analysts and talking heads, there's nothing like speaking directly to a Ukrainian Member of Parliament to hear his thoughts, his needs, and truly understand his strength and his struggle. This is the first in a series of bonus episodes we will be releasing exclusively for our audio podcast listeners to highlight important voices we feel are not getting nearly enough attention in the mainstream media. If you enjoy the show, remember to subscribe, tell a friend, and leave us a 5-star review!
