This episode of Side Notes has it all—rock-paper-scissors showdowns, an epic Buffalo Wild Wings buffet, and a heartfelt tribute to a beloved church leader. Join Arch and Josh as they relive the unforgettable moments from the Unite event, from competitive hand games to celebrating Bruce Lane's incredible impact on the community (and the missing W). Plus, hear about a life-or-death camping adventure that proves friendship is best tested in the wild—preferably with photographic evidence! The conversation takes a deeper turn as the hosts dive into the start of Jesus' ministry, exploring His baptism, temptation, and the calling of His disciples. They unpack how these moments reveal both His humanity and divine nature, making Him the ultimate example of trust and faith. Personal stories, graduation speeches, and everyday acts of kindness tie it all together, reminding us that faith isn't just about grand gestures—it's about showing up, trusting God, and taking the next right step.

June 29th, next Tuesday, is known as the 'Day of the Christian Martyr.' According to church history, it's the date of the martyrdom of the Apostle Paul. It serves as a reminder for us to pray for persecuted believers world-wide. Tertullian noted that -The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.- Their example of faith in the face of death has not quenched, but sparked the spread of the gospel throughout church history, holding true even today.- -Many are unaware that the 20th Century had by far the highest level of persecution of Christians and the highest number of Christian martyrs in all of history - and the 21st Century is proving to be even worse. This should not surprise us, since Jesus said in John 15, -If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you- If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you-- But it should awaken in us an urgency to prayerfully prepare for spiritual battle by putting on the whole armor of God, and to intercede in prayer for others -Ephesians 6-10-18-.

SexualityUnmasked was founded in 1990 when Jim and Lisa Anderson took a giant step of faith and launched Lifeline Ministries, mobilizing churches to respond to God’s heart concerning the unborn. Lifeline, now SexualityUnmasked, quickly evolved into a ministry not only focused on the unborn, but one of healing, deliverance, and restoration from the negative effects of abortion, abuse, adultery, immorality, pornography, rape, sexual confusion, and sex trafficking. SexualityUnmasked's powerful message exposes the lies in culture that falsely define the sexual roles of men and women and helps establish them in their true God-given identities. This movement has released healing to thousands of people worldwide in conferences, churches, and discipleship schools. Support the show (http://paypal.me/bwalsh)

Guest speaker Nathan Martin shows us the contrast of how faith can manifest in the lives of people who live faithfully. Hebrews 11:32-38 is not only a list of triumphs. Some of the lives of those mentioned ended very badly. This demonstrates to us that faith in God cannot be equated to success in this life or health or wealth. Rather, trusting in God has its fullest reward in the next life.
