Welcome to Fertility & Sterility Roundtable, hosted by Dr. Emily Barnard and Dr. Ben Peipert! Each week, we will host a discussion with the authors of "Views and Reviews" and "Fertile Battle" articles published in a recent issue of Fertility & Sterility. Today, we will be discussing the Views and Reviews from the May 2026 edition of Fertility and Sterility entitled "Male Infertility and Immune Function." This Views and Reviews brought together experts, some of whom we will be interviewing today, who evaluated and summarized the evidence on how the immune system plays a role in male fertility and infertility in general. We know that infertility is caused, at least in part, by a male component in about 50% of cases, and we are appreciative to our guests for joining us in discussion today. We encourage all of our listeners to read the full articles in the journal as we will not be able to cover all the content in this episode. Dr. Michael L. Eisenberg is a Professor of Urology and Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He is the director of Men's Health at Stanford. Dr. Eisenberg's NIH-funded laboratory seeks to understand the association between a man's reproductive, sexual, and overall health. Dr. Marcelo Mass Lindenbaum is a clinical research fellow at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, soon to be transitioning to his urology residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. His primary academic research focuses on male infertility and its relationship with the urologic microbiome, and infection risks associated with prosthetic surgery. Dr. Scott Lundy is a Staff Urologist and Surgeon Scientist at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation who specializes in male reproductive medicine, sexual dysfunction, and microsurgery. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Lundy leads significant research efforts, including establishing a multi-institutional consortium to advance the study and treatment of male infertility. OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, were sued by a Florida pastor who accused the company's chatbot, ChatGPT, of giving him “personalized and inaccurate medical advice” that "brought him to the brink of death." According to the lawsuit, the 55-year-old man listened to health advice from ChatGPT, which he claims led him to delay seeking medical attention. ChatGPT allegedly said his symptoms were not likely very dangerous, but the pain he felt was actually the beginning of a pulmonary embolism that almost took his life. Eric Fish, a partner at Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, joined "Forbes Newsroom" to break down the lawsuit. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

What would you do if you had lost everything — your home, your freedom, your will to live — and the only thing you had left was a decision? My guest today hit every one of those walls. He was homeless. He sat behind bars. He tried to end his life. And then — somehow — he went on to build an 800% sales turnaround at a dealership most people had written off, become a national speaker spotlighted on ABC, NBC, and CBS, and raise nine kids along the way. Today Glenn Lundy is going to tell us exactly what broke him, what rebuilt him, and the dead-simple morning practice he says anyone can use to stop surviving and start performing. Stay with us — because the moment he tells you what he was doing at 4 am that changed his entire life, you will not want to go back to the way you've been starting your days. This episode examines the potential benefits and pitfalls of early subspecialization in orthopaedic residency training, featuring trauma surgeon and AAOS Now deputy editor Doug Lundy, MD, MBA, FAAOS, Deputy Editor of AAOS Now and Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Senior Vice President of Medical Services at St. Luke's University Health Network. Dr. Lundy joins host Ellen Lutnick, MD, chair of the AAAOS Resident Assembly Executive Committee, for her inaugural episode of the AAOS Career Podcast. Drawing on more than 27 years in trauma surgery, extensive experience in private practice and academics, and his tenure on the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS), Dr. Lundy defines early subspecialization and explores where the line falls between a helpful early interest and a narrowing of focus that limits a resident's growth. He discusses the importance of generalized training for board certification, the value of learning about multiple subspecialties throughout training, and why the PGY-3 year is often the sweet spot for identifying a subspecialty direction. Dr. Lundy emphasizes that the quality fellowship directors seek most is a teachable spirit — the willingness to learn rather than a demonstration of what a resident already knows. He also addresses the potential inequities early subspecialization can create within a program, the growing trend of dual fellowships, and which skills every resident should seek to take away from their training. Listeners gain candid, practical advice on navigating subspecialty decisions without limiting future opportunities, and Dr. Lundy leaves residents with a memorable guiding principle: Pursue the subspecialty you simply cannot live without. Guest: Doug Lundy, MD, MBA, FAAOS, Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Senior Vice President of Medical Services, St. Luke's University Health Network; AAOS Now Deputy Editor and AAOS Now Podcast host Host: Ellen Lutnick, MD, AAOS Resident Assembly Executive Committee Chair
Today's show comes to you from the Ford Experience Center in Dearborn, as Jer catches up with Devon O'Reilly at the city's first‑ever Dearborn Development Day. They dig into the future of the former Hyatt hotel at Fairlane — now moving forward as a Hilton‑flagged property — with plans for 168 residential units, a mix of restaurants and entertainment, and a revived rotating bar at the top. From there, the conversation zooms out to Dearborn's wider development push: the emerging 'Midtown' Fairlane area, West Warren streetscape changes, and new housing concepts around Lundy, the Eugene and Porath sites, and the Joe Louis Greenway. In the final third, Jer recaps his trip to the groundbreaking of the Gratiot Life Sciences Building on part of the old 'fail jail' site in downtown Detroit, why the two‑story project coming online in 2027 matters for 'eds and meds' jobs, and what BAMF Health and Henry Ford Health are planning there. Episode 411: In February 1890, the body of 24-year-old Englishman Frederick Cornwallis Benwell was found in a shallow grave near Lundy's Lane, just outside Niagara Falls, Ontario. Benwell had travelled to Canada after corresponding with John Reginald Birchall, aka Lord Frederick A. Somerset, a fellow Englishman who advertised opportunities for young men seeking work and advancement overseas. Within days of Benwell's disappearance, suspicion fell on Birchall, who was arrested in Buffalo, New York, and returned to Canada to stand trial. What followed was one of the most closely watched murder cases in late 19th-century Ontario. Jim Lundy, Founder and CEO of Aragon Research, spoke with Moshe Beauford of Technology Reseller News, during the Enterprise Connect conference about the growing importance of edge computing, AI infrastructure, and data sovereignty in enterprise technology strategies. Lundy explained that while cloud computing has dominated enterprise IT strategies over the past decade, the rapid rise of AI workloads is pushing organizations to rethink where data processing should occur. Running AI models in centralized cloud environments can be expensive and inefficient for many real-time applications. As a result, enterprises are increasingly moving AI workloads closer to where the data resides—at the edge. “AI runs faster when it's closer to the data, and for many enterprises the edge is becoming the natural place to process those workloads,” Lundy said. The conversation also explored the growing role of data sovereignty and security in shaping infrastructure decisions. Organizations in regulated industries are facing new pressures to maintain tighter control over sensitive data while still taking advantage of AI-driven analytics and automation. Edge-based infrastructure can help address these challenges by allowing enterprises to process data locally rather than sending everything to centralized cloud platforms. Lundy emphasized that this shift does not signal the end of the cloud, but rather the emergence of hybrid architectures that combine cloud scalability with edge performance. These distributed models allow enterprises to optimize cost, performance, and security as AI applications continue to expand across industries. As discussions at Enterprise Connect highlighted the accelerating impact of AI on communications, collaboration, and enterprise infrastructure, Lundy noted that organizations that rethink their data architecture today will be better positioned to take advantage of the next generation of AI-driven innovation. Dr. Swift brings decades of experience across public education, higher education, and educational organizations to a conversation centered on one powerful idea: learning isn't meant to be still. Dr. Swift shares why engaging the whole body in the learning process can transform literacy development, increase student engagement, and support deeper understanding—especially for young learners. From movement-based strategies to rethinking traditional classroom expectations, this episode challenges the idea that effective learning only happens when students sit quietly at a desk. The lesson is simple but uncomfortable: demand only matters if your systems can convert it.
