As a sophomore at Pitt, I met Dave Revsine and if anyone told me that we would be colleagues 20 years later I would have signed up for it. Today, that is our reality at the Big Ten Network. As a host, Dave has always been impressive. Sharp questions, elite awareness and always seeking humanity. This week on Y-Option, presented by 76 keeping you on the GO GO GO so you never miss a beat, welcomed Dave Revsine so get to know the story behind one of the core voices of Big Ten Network. For Dave, it all began in Chicago. A kid turning down the TV volume, writing out the White Sox lineup, and calling the games into a tape recorder. It detoured through a year on Wall Street (his most miserable), then on to Texas, where he ran his own camera to cover the Cowboys of Aikman, Irvin, and Smith. Eventually, ESPN came calling. Then, in 2007, the Big Ten Network. On launch night, BTN handed Dave 45 seconds of live airtime. No one edited his script. No one vetted his words. They just trusted him. Two days later, BTN aired Appalachian State's upset over Michigan—and the network made history. In our conversation, Dave reflects on expansion, coast-to-coast Big Ten football, and what he trusts most as we head into Week 6. His answers are simple and powerful: Ohio State's defense, Oregon's completeness, Indiana's rise. Thanks for reading Y-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth! This post is public so feel free to share it.But what struck me most wasn't the analysis, it is the lens in which Dave sees the world of sports media. After decades in this business, Dave still lives with wonder. He hasn't lost the gratitude for doing what he once dreamt about as a kid with a tape recorder. He hasn't lost the kindness he was shown as a small-market reporter trying to cover the Cowboys. That's why this episode feels bigger than Week 6 in the Big Ten. It's about trust, preparation, and joy. Hope you enjoy.I'm off to Purdue for the first time to call a game on campus.Much love and stay steady,YogiY-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth is a reader-supported publication. Frank Thomas looked more like an NFL Tight=End, looking to create space in the end zone to receive a touchdown, than he did a baseball player. But in many ways, the 6'5" 275 pound icon was ostensibly a contact hitter trapped inside of a slugger's body, with a judicious knowledge of the strike zone and quick hand-eye coordination. He was a dog on the hunt, looking to inflict pain on opposing teams, thus earning the well deserved moniker; The Big Hurt. Even in the context of playing in one of the greatest offensive eras in the game's history, Frank's raw production is staggering, From 1991 to 1997, he strung together seven consecutive seasons with 20 home runs. 100 or more walks, 100 or more RBI and a .300 average, No player before or since has equalled the feat. He is the all-time White Sox leader in home runs, doubles, walks, OBP and SLUG. Thomas would achieve these benchmarks through hard work, persistence, and never taking anything for granted. This week we do a deep archaeological dig into the baseball path laid down by the man. #FrankThomas #TheBigHurt #ColumbusGeorgia #BobbyHoward #AuburnUniversity #HalBaird #PatDye #WaltHriniak #BoJackson #OaklandAthletics #TorontoBlueJays #JeffTorborg #PamelaThomas

Jerry starts with the sounds of the Yankees beating the White Sox and clinching a playoff spot. We heard the sounds of Howie Rose as the Mets came back to beat the Cubs as Brandon Nimmo had a 3-run game tying HR. Francisco Alvarez homered in the eighth which ended up being the game winner. Al actually had a new song about Jaxson Dart. Mike ‘I'm a man, I'm 40' Gundy was fired by Oklahoma State.
Hour 1 We started with a great night of baseball for the locals, with the Yankees clinching a playoff spot and the Mets coming back to beat the Cubs. It felt like a special night for the Mets. And where is Keith Hernandez? Is he sick? Jaxson Dart is starting for the Giants this weekend at home against the Chargers. Even though Russell Wilson had a great game against Dallas, he threw terrible interceptions last week. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Yankees beating the White Sox and clinching a playoff spot. In the final segment of the hour, WFAN producer Brian Rascona told Gio that Ken Griffey Jr was walking around the Ryder Cup and nobody seemed to notice him. Hour 2 Jaxson Dart is getting the start for the Giants this week. Nobody really talks about the pressure a quarterback faces in their first real NFL game. Boomer brings it up, but you don't hear many other people talk about it. It's different from the pre-season. Boomer likes Dart's attitude compared to some of the other rookie QBs that came to the Jets and Giants. Jerry returns for an update, but first Gio wonders if the teams being bused back and forth for the Ryder Cup are listening to the show. Jerry starts with Ian Poulter criticizing American golf fans. Brandon Nimmo hit a game tying 3-run homer as the Mets beat the Cubs. Francisco Alvarez ended up hitting what ended up being the game winning HR. The Yankees beat the White Sox and clinched a playoff spot. The Guardians have overtaken the Tigers and former WFAN Adam ‘The Bull' was so excited he made a weird noise. In the final segment of the hour, a caller wonders if Daniel Jones will get a big contract in Indianapolis (he will hang up and listen). Hour 3 We started the hour with the Jets as they play in Miami on Monday night. One of these teams is going to be 0-4. There is pressure on Mike McDaniel and Tua. In 2 of the 3 games, the Jets were very competitive. A caller wonders why the Giants even brought Russell Wilson in if they had already signed Jameis Winston. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Howie Rose and the sounds of the Mets beating the Cubs to get back in charge of their own destiny. Brandon Nimmo hit a game tying HR and Francisco Alvarez hit the eventual game winning HR. Jerry compares ‘douche bag says what' from the 1990s to ‘Boomer will cream pie me' from this morning. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Gary Cohen's comments last night about a Cubs player missing a game to attend Charlie Kirk's memorial service. We continued arguing about the phrase, ‘control your own destiny'. Hour 4 Nicole Rae from Skratch Golf is in the studio to talk about the Ryder Cup. They hosted us for our trip to Pebble Beach as well. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first Gio gives us alcohol prices for drinks at the Ryder Cup. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Yankees beating the White Sox as Caballero had a walk off single. We heard Howie Rose on the call as Francisco Alvarez homered making it 9-7 Mets. Micah Parsons was asked how it will feel when he sacks Dak this weekend. The Moment of The Day: Al has a new song, reminding Gio of marriage. In the final segment of the show, WFAN producer Brian Rascona checks in from the Ryder Cup.
Yanks clinch, Mets rally — a big night in New York baseball. Jaxson Dart starts for the Giants, while Russell Wilson keeps throwing picks. Jerry's update had Yankee and Met calls plus Al's Dart song. Oklahoma State dumps Mike Gundy.
Jaxson Dart gets the Giants' start, and Boomer says the rookie pressure is real — but he loves Dart's attitude. Jerry's update kicks off with Ian Poulter ripping U.S. golf fans, then Mets heroics from Nimmo and Alvarez, and the Yankees clinching a playoff spot. The Guardians leap the Tigers and a caller wonders if Indy will pay Daniel Jones.
Nicole Rae from Skratch Golf joined in-studio to talk Ryder Cup and Pebble Beach. Jerry's final update had Yankee and Met highlights, plus Micah Parsons on sacking Dak. The Moment of the Day was Al's new song, and WFAN's Brian Rascona checked in from the Ryder Cup.

In the third hour, Mike Mulligan and David Haugh were joined by Chicago Sports Network analyst Ozzie Guillen to discuss the latest White Sox storylines as their season will wrap up this week. How is the club feeling as it looks forward to 2026? After that, Mully and Haugh discussed the slumping Cubs and the National League playoff picture. Later, BetMGM ambassador Chris Chelios joined the show to discuss the Blackhawks' return to the ice and the Bears earning their first win Sunday.
