Allie unpacks the state of Pride Month 2026, contrasting the cultural push for LGBTQ celebration with God's unchanging design for marriage, sexuality, and family. She examines aggressive activism targeting children — from Boston library drag queen story times and taxpayer-funded “trans period Pride” events to corporate Pride collections and Netflix kids' programming — while highlighting encouraging shifts in public opinion, state laws protecting minors, corporate retreats, and legal pushback. Allie reminds Christians why we cannot affirm what Scripture calls sin, grounding the conversation in biblical truth about pride, redemption, and God's good creation of male and female. Plus, she responds to voicemails with wisdom on IVF and navigating fear about having more children with a special-needs child. Share the Arrows 2026 is on October 10 in Dallas, Texas! There's a difference between being a loser and just losing ground. One's a circumstance. One's a state of mind. When you start to recognize and learn from what your telling yourself, your "luck" will change. You gain nothing from feeling comfortable. Go where you're uncomfortable. Acknowlege and then learn to shatter negative thoughts. That's the difference between being a loser or just losing ground. Every day, multiple times a day, we come to mental crossroads. Make better decisions with better thought processes. That's you gaining ground. That's rank. Think Rank.

A good news story in recent years is the amount of progress Community Land Trusts (CLTs) have made in communities across the country. New CLTs are being established, and existing ones are winning by-in from various levels of government, as well as buying up land to preserve as affordable housing in perpetuity, sheltering units from the runaway, unaffordable housing market. Often, CLTs preserve often overlooked and stigmatized housing such as rooming houses and single room occupancy hotels. Joshua Barndt is executive director of the Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust (PNLT) in Toronto, one of the first CLTs to rekindle this model in Canada. First, the PNLT was able to acquire property for affordable housing, then the City of Toronto created the Multi-Unit Residential Acquisition program (MURA) to help create CLTs across Toronto. We asked Joshua what is needed to scale up, and out, and replicate for other communities. Norm Leech is the president of the Downtown Eastside Community Land Trust. They're just begging their mission in Vancouver's famously impoverished downtown. Norm tells us how this CLT uses a decolonized governance structure, co-led by Indigenous peoples, and with tenant-led programming. How can we help communities secure affordable housing for their neighbours?

Please join us for a cocktail reception and conversation in NYC this fall. We are pleased to have New York Post columnist and author Rikki Schlott in conversation with Cato vice president for general economics and Stiefel Trade Policy Center Scott Lincicome as our featured speakers.Rikki and Scott will examine New York City's mayoral race as a microcosm of a troubling trend: Gen Z's embrace of socialist policies that purportedly fix real economic problems many Americans are facing today. Using candidate Zohran Mamdani's surprising victory as an example, they'll explore how economic pressures and uncertainty are driving many voters toward progressive solutions like industrial policy and rent control, even though free market approaches, including zoning reform and deregulation, offer better, proven pathways to genuine, broad-based prosperity. Why are government-centered policies gaining traction when market-based solutions have historically delivered economic growth, lower prices, and higher living standards? As we approach Cato's 50th anniversary in 2027, our mission is clear: to keep liberty at the forefront of national debates and ensure a freer future for generations to come. To meet this challenge, in May, Cato publicly launched the Vision for Liberty Campaign—a bold initiative to expand our impact and accelerate the spread of the ideas that drive human flourishing. Cato president and CEO Peter Goettler will discuss Cato's policy priorities, as well as how we are developing new audiences and scaling our educational programs. Hosted on Acast. Ray DiBernardo, Portfolio Manager of the XAI Madison Equity Premium Income fund, says that covered-call strategies have become increasingly popular of late, as investors want to goose income while reducing market risk. DiBernardo, an analyst at Madison Investments, notes that investors have been intrigued by covered-call strategies for about two decades, but the availability of more options-based strategies through the advent of ETFs has made investors more aware of how to find income-enhancement through covered calls. DiBernardo, notes that covered call strategies did well in 2022, when the overall market was struggling, which also has increased their use as a hedge against market risk with the market trading at record highs.
