The Chicago White Sox followed up on their 11 run, 17 hit performance from Tuesday night with only 1 run and 7 hits on Wednesday night. The White Sox lost to the Los Angeles Angels, 4-1, and also lost the series. The Sox were not able to do much against Angels pitcher Shoehi Ohtani but the White Sox did have opportunities throughout the game to score runs but were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. The lone bright spot for the Sox was Jose Abreu. He went 4-for-4 on the night. Sox starter, Michael Kopech, gave up a few runs early then settled down until the 6th inning. The last batter he faced, he gave up a two-run home run. The White Sox have an off day on Thursday and then head to San Francisco for a three game series with the Giants. It was big win for the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. They beat the Los Angeles Angels, 11-4 and just about every White Sox starter got in on the action. Luis Robert, Tim Anderson and Jose Abreu all had multiple hit nights. Abreu had 2 doubles and Robert and big home run. Josh Harrison had 3 RBIs, as the White Sox had 17 hits on the night. White Sox starter, Johnny Cueto, gave up three solo homeruns in the third inning but that was it. Cueto ended up pitching six innings before turning things over to the Sox bullpen. White Sox gave gave their pitchers more than enough run support, which has been a problem throughout the year. It was a rough series for the Chicago White Sox however they were able to salvage a win in the series finale thanks in part to an outstanding outing by Dylan Cease and the Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3. Dylan Cease pitched 7 innings and struck out 13 to help the White Sox snap a four game losing streak. Lenyn Sosa got his first MLB hit and Gavin Sheets ended a five game home run drought for the White Sox by blasting a two run home run in the second inning. Baltimore did not quit. They took advantage of two fielding errors by White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu and scored two runs in the 9th inning. Kendall Graveman was able to pitch around the miscues and nail down the much needed White Sox victory. The Sox head out west to start a three game series with the Los Angeles Angels. Despite having 9 hits and 13 baserunners, the Chicago White Sox could not score a run and lost to the Baltimore Orioles , 4-0. The Orioles played some outstanding defense stealing potential hits from Jose Abreu, AJ Pollock, Gavin Sheets and Jake Burger. White Sox starter, Johnny Cueto, was serviceable as he allowed only 3 runs in a little over 5 innings. It was the first time this season that Cueto did not go at least 6 innings during a start. Prior to the game, the White Sox called up prospect, Lenyn Sosa, from AA Birmingham. Sosa was not in the starting lineup but saw playing time when Josh Harrison was hit by a pitch and left the game. Sosa went 0-1 with a strikeout and walk. The White Sox look to bounce back on Friday against the Orioles as they send Michael Kopech to the mound. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The Chicago White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers on Monday night by a score of 9-5. The White Sox had 15 hits and two home runs from Jose Abreu. He had 4 RBIs in the game. White Sox got three hits from Leury Garcia and two hits from AJ Pollock. The White Sox welcomed back Lance Lynn to the rotation. He made his 2022 debut. There was some expected rust as he gave up 3 runs in a little over four innings but it's just nice to have him back in a Sox uniform. A very depleted White Sox bullpen only gave up 2 runs in relief. The Chicago White Sox try to make it two in row on Tuesday as they send Dylan Cease to the mound. Cease is 9-0 lifetime against the Detroit Tigers. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The Chicago White Sox played in their 48th game of the season on Wednesday night and it was the 48th different lineup used. AJ Pollock was in the lead off spot and he made it count by hitting a homerun to start the game. The Toronto Blue Jays answered with their own lead off homerun in the bottom of the first and continued to hammer away at White Sox starter Michael Kopech. He only last 3 innings and gave up 5 runs. It was one of his worst outings of the year. The White Sox got more offense from Danny Mendick, Jake Burger and a big homerun from Jose Abreu but it just wasn't enough. White Sox issued too many walks and the Toronto Blue Jays made them pay. White Sox send Johnny Cueto to the mound to help get things back on track during Thursday's series finale.
