After Saturday's heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Rangers, the New York Mets have now dropped eight straight games — their worst stretch since 2018. Rookie Brandon Sproat threw six strong, scoreless innings in his Citi Field debut, and Juan Soto smashed his 40th home run of the season, but the bullpen faltered late. Edwin Díaz couldn't close it out, giving up the go-ahead hit in the 9th to Wyatt Langford.
