Detroit has 4 games left and is one point out. The opportunity to make the playoffs is still their, but they no longer control their own destiny. But regardless of that, they need to see this season through until the very end, even if it means another season without playoffs. This season has taught us many things — What were they? Copp injured on a broken cheekbone has lead to Zach Aston-Reese being recalled ahead of Thursday's match in Pittsburgh. #LGRWSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Factor MealsGet started on your resolutions with Factor, so you're ready for the new year. Locked On Red Wings - Daily Podcast On The Detroit Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings placed Dylan Larkin, Klim Kostin, and JT Compher on IR on Monday, and recalled Jonatan Berggren, Austin Czarnik, and Zach Aston-Reese from the Grand Rapids Griffins. AND David Perron was suspended 6 games. Despite this, the Wings had to go into Dallas against one of the best teams in the NHL. Given everything going on off the ice, the response and effort by this team was great. Losing 6-3, but down just by 1 at one point in the 3rd thanks to players stepping up and the depth scoring continuing to be a huge strenght. This time Sprong, Veleno, and Berggren were Detroit's goal scorers. Unfortunatley, James Reimer was rough in net, allowing 1 if not 2 soft goals against. Including one that came with .2 seconds left in the 1st. The Detroit Red Wings finished out the preseason Saturday with a 4-3 win over the Maple Leafs at LCA. But the most interesting storylines weren't what happened on the ice, but who wasn't. After not playing in the finale, Detroit sent Hanas, Soderblom, Edvinsson, Danielson and Berggren to their respective clubs. Meanwhile, newly signed Zach Aston-Reese was placed on waivers. This finalizes their roster for the season opener on Thursday. Or does it? #lgrwFollow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

They go over what led to this breakout performance from the second line and why it's obviously a big development for the Leafs. Mike gets Dave's thoughts on the mood of Leafs fans when the team was letting the foot off the gas pedal and seeing their lead get cut down and what he saw as the reason why there were defensive lapses. Dave shouts out Noel Acciari and Zach Aston-Reese's play not just because of their physical play but what they brought defensively. With John Tavares injured, Mike and Dave look at the options when it comes to the designation he will carry going into the season as well as Timothy Liljegren (5:23). Which players could we expect to see placed on waivers in order to trim the Leafs cap number heading into the final cuts while also factoring Zach Aston-Reese signing a contract (7:50). They look at alternate options to make the team cap compliant without making a trade and how it would put the team in a tough position playing shorthanded (12:40). Mike and Dave explain why a trade remains the best option to getting cap compliant and rank the three players who remain the best options to move (15:45). They simulate what an Engvall trade would open up in terms of flexibility and the long term effects it will have from now until the trade deadline and other factors that would make this the right move purely for cap reasons (18:30). Locked On Penguins - Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Penguins
No ocean for this one, sorry peeps. There's still some good content to get to in the latest episode of Locked On Penguins and it includes Zach Aston-Reese's season review! Before that though, Hunter dives into Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final and what went wrong for the Tampa Bay Lightning. How on earth was Montreal able to kill off that four-minute minor? Does the series get past tonight's game? Was it still a lousy decision to not dress JK or Tatar? After that, Hunter does get into ZAR's season and looks at how dominant he was defensively. Would he be the hardest of the three to replace from the fourth line? Is he the engine that makes that line go? Finally, the show ends with some interesting but fun mailbag questions!Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!BetOnline AGThere is only 1 place that has you covered and 1 place we trust. Betonline.ag!
