Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited, and is set to massage your earholes. On today's podcast, the guys previewed Game 3 between the Edmonton Oilers vs. Dallas Stars, Connor Brown's injury, Viktor Arvidsson, and more. The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about our favourite memories from the current playoff run. From the way the Oilers bounced back after two early losses against Los Angeles to dusting off the Vegas Golden Knights to Stuart Skinner looking better than anyone expected, there are plenty of fantastic storylines from the first 14 games. As you'll hear, everyone had different memories to share, and it was fun to re-live some of those memories. Looking ahead to Game 4, the boys began the preview by examining what Viktor Arvidsson brings to the table as a replacement for the injured Connor Brown. Coles Notes: We need him to play like the Viktor Arvidsson who annoyed the Oilers for years as a King. We also walked through the new line combinations and discussed whether it makes sense to have McDavid and Draisaitl starting on the same line. Finally, the fellas wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a run of betting talk for our friends at bet365, keys to victory vs. the Stars in Game 4, and offered a few reasons why everyone should believe the Oilers can get the job done for a second straight night on home ice. As you'll hear, the boys feel bullish about the Oilers' chances of getting the job done, but that'll only happen if they can bring the same effort that we saw earlier in the series, even with the win on Sunday afternoon. The Oilers crushed the Dallas Stars 6-1 in Game 3, with Connor McDavid's late second-period goal shifting momentum after a strong Dallas frame. Coach Pete DeBoer admitted that moment deflated the Stars, who have allowed too many prime chances and seen several key forwards go quiet. Stuart Skinner has outplayed Jake Oettinger so far, especially in Game 3, and looks composed and confident. A missed puck-over-glass call on Brett Kulak turned into a pivotal non-penalty, while Petrovic's crushing hit sidelined Connor Brown. DeBoer gave a lukewarm endorsement of Oettinger’s play, as the series enters Edmonton’s window of dominance under Kris Knoblauch in Games 4–7 (16–2 over the last two seasons). Out East, Carolina is down 3–0 to Florida, and with their stars underperforming, hope is fading. Ray highlights Florida’s depth and how players like Forsling and Mikkola—once overlooked—are thriving. Team USA captured the World Hockey Championship, honouring Johnny Gaudreau with a jersey tribute for his dedication to representing his country. It's the Wednesday after Game 1 of Round 2, which means a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to recap yet another Edmonton Oilers comeback win while also looking back at the week that was. On today's podcast, I recapped last night's win, what the Oilers need to do to pull away in the series, playoff Connor Brown, and much more.I started this week's podcast with an admission that I've once again made poor life choices on a school night. Seeing as the Oilers and Golden Knights kicked off their series last night, I felt it was necessary to have a few adult beverages to celebrate the occasion. The result, of course, is that I feel like death today, which made accomplishing my day-to-day tasks 200% more difficult. Even so, I was in a great mood after the Oilers won their series opener, which is certainly not the case for some Oilers fans around here.Turning my full attention back to the Oilers, I started with a recap of Game 1 between the Oilers and Golden Knights, and how a big win like that sets the table for a strong finish. I mean, yeah it would have been great if the boys hadn't needed to come up with a fifth straight comeback win — a new NHL record — but I'd be lying if I pretended it wasn't exciting to watch. A big part of that comeback was the result of the depth scoring coming through once again, which led to me spending the next handful of minutes pumping tires for a few of our boys. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating before wrapping up the podcast with a massive round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive again this week, and the messages were very funny and all over the map. As always, finishing up the show with your opinions is my favourite part of the whole thing and something I always look forward to most. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode because having you in the mix makes the show so much better.

On this week's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' Game 1 loss, the special teams, penalty calls, and much more. The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about Monday's loss to the Kings, and how it was incredibly frustrating to have the Oilers come back from being down 4-0 and lose before the game got to OT. Starting with the mess in their zone, the boys wondered why Edmonton seems to be a yard sale in their end when they were so good defensively in last year's run. The guys also discussed whether or not losing Game 1 has any effect on how confident everyone is about the Oilers' ability to still win the series.Changing gears, the boys discussed potential lineup adjustments for Game 2 if Evander Kane can return to the lineup for Game 2. As you'll hear, the boys have a few different names circled to get swapped out for Kane. What will be most interesting to see is what Kris Knoblauch thinks is the most significant need relative to who's coming out. Would Knoblauch sacrifice a penalty killer like Mattias Janmark or Connor Brown for Kane? What about a guy like Jeff Skinner, who was on the ice for three goals against? Either way, Finally, the boys wrapped up the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a random collection of topics from around the NHL, including Lou Lamoriello's departure in New York, the implosion happening in Vancouver, coaches getting fired, and much more. Despite the Oilers' loss in Los Angeles, the boys' spirits were still high and looking ahead to a much better effort in Game 2 on Wednesday. SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

The Edmonton Oilers went into Winnipeg on Sunday night and delivered a massive 4-1 win over the league-leading Jets. It was a complete effort from a team that continues to battle through injuries and adversity late in the season. With home-ice advantage in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs still in reach, the Oilers showed they're not backing down, even without a fully healthy roster. From the drop of the puck, they took control of the game and never really looked back.Scoring came from all throughout the lineup, with goals from Connor Brown, Corey Perry, Adam Henrique, and Viktor Arvidsson. It was the kind of depth production the Oilers will need in the postseason, and last night proved this group can step up when needed. Connor McDavid continued his torrid pace since returning from injury, playing a key role in the team's offensive success once again. He looked confident and dangerous every time he touched the puck. The win also marked the return of Stuart Skinner, who hadn't started since March 26th against the Dallas Stars. He wasn't overly busy, but he was sharp when called upon, stopping 24 of 25 shots and making a strong case to be the Game 1 starter for the Oilers in the playoffs. With Calvin Pickard playing well in Skinner's absence, the Oilers are now faced with a tough but positive decision in net.On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down last night's huge win with a full scoring summary, their one big take, and the Sherwood Ford Giant Question. They'll also preview tonight's massive showdown against the LA Kings at Rogers Place — a game that has huge implications in the Pacific Division and could be a preview of the first round.Plus, Louie DeBrusk will join the show for his weekly segment to share his thoughts on the Oilers' current injury luck, the team's recent form, and how Jay Woodcroft and his staff might approach the goaltending decision moving forward. Today, we're continuing The Climbing Majority's ‘Triple Crown' series with Michael Vaill, one of the two climbers who recently broke the Yosemite Triple Crown speed record and, just a week later, made history with the monumental Yosemite Quad. If you missed yesterday's conversation with his partner, Tanner Wanish, I highly recommend giving it a listen after this episode. If I had to describe Michael Vaill in one word, it would be 'psyched.' His passion is tangible, infectious, and truly motivating. But for Michael, 'psyche' is more than just a climbing mindset—it's a way of life. Even before discovering climbing, he nurtured this relentless drive while studying and achieving a PhD in Cell Biology. After graduating, he redirected his focus entirely to climbing in Yosemite, where he could fully embrace this life of passion and challenge.Michael chooses to live a minimalist, flexible life in order to fully immerse himself in climbing. Life in a van allows him to spend every day pursuing what excites him the most. As he says, if he's “psyched,” then he'll keep doing it forever. While his love for climbing runs deep, Michael takes safety and caution seriously. He speaks about the importance of mentorship, learning to place reliable protection, and respecting the skills required to climb at your limit safely…. Even as he tackles routes as serious and dangerous as the legendary Bachar-Yerian, a 5.11 X testpiece, his approach is careful and calculated. He's also dedicated to helping newer climbers, giving them a safe space to learn and experience the joy of climbing.Michael is here. Right now…living in the present…., and aims to continue like that for the foreseeable future., And with his recent achievements in the climbing world, I'd say it's working out for him pretty well.... His journey is a reminder to stay psyched, push limits thoughtfully, and savor the fulfillment that climbing brings to our lives.----Don't forget to check out our full video episodes on Youtube! The TCM movement is growing but we need your help to spread the word! It's Friday afternoon, meaning a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking all things free agency, as the Oilers were major players in the NHL's annual fishing derby. Kicking off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio, the boys started the show with a delicious debate about everyone's favourite move from the first day of free agency. Even though the Oilers didn't have much cap space to spend, Jeff Jackson was able to do a lot to not only bring back his free agents but also improve the roster. The guys also offered their grades on all of the moves the Oilers made yesterday. From bringing back Connor Brown, Adam Henrique, and Mattias Janmark as UFAs to landing Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson as UFAs, Edmonton was one of the busier teams in the league on day one, and the fellas were pretty damned excited to talk about it. The guys wound down the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with some betting talk for bet365, as the sportsbook has already released some future bets for the 2024-25 season. Finally, the boys offered their takes on what the Oilers have left to do in free agency or if they think the team is done until training camp, provided they can clear the necessary cap space. Needless to say, this was the most excited that Oilers fans have been about heading into the summer that anyone can remember. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Edmonton Oilers had a surprisingly big day in free agency despite not having a whole lot of cap space to spend, and that meant a quick 15-minute reaction episode of Better Lait Than Never to break it all down.Whether we're talking about Viktor Arvidsson coming over from the Los Angeles Kings, Jeff Skinner signing on from the Sabres after getting bought out, Mattias Janmark and Connor Brown coming back, or any of the depth moves Jeff Jackson made, the Oilers were significantly busier than any of us expected them to be. Not only did they address their top six forwards in a very real way, but they also added depth to the organization without having to break the bank. That leads me to believe that this team is — for the first time I can remember — a true destination for NHL free agents.Remember when the Oilers had to give Eric Belanger an extra year because he believed in the team? Remember when Ben Eager and Darcy Hordichuk were considered to be big gets for the team? Those days seem like forever ago, don't they?

Additionally, Sam Carrick signed a three-year deal in the Big Apple with the New York Rangers. Once Tyler and Liam wrap up all the Oilers talk, they'll also dive into the news from around the NHL. The Nashville Predators made a few huge splashes signing the top three free agents on Frank Seravalli's trade board: Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei. The Oilers' playoff run lasted 63, and it was arguably the most fun I've ever had in a two-month stretch. Even though it sucks to be so close and still fall short, it's also hard not to feel proud about the way the Oilers finished.I start this week's episode of Better Lait Than Never with a quick recap of my trip to Florida for Game 7. Outside of the result, those were arguably two of the most fun days I've ever had. From the chartered flight down to the mayhem at the Elbo Room on Sunday night, the people we met along the way made the trip worth it even though we flew across the continent for only 36 hours. As always, Oilers fans travel incredibly well, and it was so much fun to see as many of us down there as there were. Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, the team had their end-of-season interviews today, and it was interesting to hear everyone speak about what that run meant to them. Obviously, we all wanted to hear Leon Draisaitl say that he was going to sign an extension ASAP, but it wasn't exactly surprising to hear him say that he needed some time to process what just happened, even though he admittedly loves playing here. It was also fascinating to hear from the likes of Warren Foegele, Connor Brown, and Mattias Janmark, three guys who weren't exactly shy about admitting they wanted to come back. Of course, the NHL is a business at the end of the day, and in the salary cap days, it will be interesting to see how the team navigates their pending UFAs. We also heard a report from TSN's Darren Dreger which stated that Ken Holland will not be back with the organization next year despite initially hearing that he had a role offered to him to stay. Lastly, I wrapped up this week's show with a guest RSB about the Oilers bandwagon and capped off the pod with another round of voicemails ranging from Stanley Cup woes to positive messages and everything in between. Once again, this podcast really is one of my favourite parts of the week, and I'm so very grateful for the levels of participation by the wonderful BLTN community that keeps moving. Oh, and subscribe to my YouTube channel.

The Stanley Cup Final has come and gone for the Edmonton Oilers and, despite making it to the final game of the season, there's plenty to discuss surrounding the future. The big question mark is Ken Holland. Does he stay or does he go? Holland has been the general manager for five years and, love him or hate him, has given the Oilers sustained success. The speculation is that he won't be around as the general manager but could find himself in an advisory role. Would you want Holland to stay or is it time for a new beginning in Edmonton?Additionally, many players have the contracts coming to an end including Adam Henrique and Warren Foegele, who both had at least 20 goals this season. Mattias Janmark, Connor Brown and Vincent Desharnais are a few of many who's time in Edmonton could come to a halt sooner rather than later. Who would you bring back?Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will discuss that and more on today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday. LIVE from Hudsons Canada's Pub on Whyte Ave, Tom Gazzola & former Oilers goalie Joaquin Gage recap what happened in game 4 of the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks series!   Joaquin Gage joined to break down the play of Calvin Pickard and what he looked like during his first NHL Playoff start.   He then looked at the Oilers defencemen and how they protected the front of the net. Gager thinks the Oilers in their zone and the offensive zone were a step ahead.   After some discussion, the boys head into the locker room to hear from the man who has had a point in all 9 playoff games thus far, Leon Draisaitl.   We also hear from Kris Knoblauch, Mattias Ekholm, Calvin Pickard and Evan Bouchard throughout the show.   Gager and Tommy continue on to talk about some potential "sleeping giants" on the Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers. Gazzola brings up Connor Brown while Gager sheds some light on the veteran Corey Perry.   After hearing from Calvin Pickard, Gager shared his thoughts on what he had to say after getting the win in goal.   We then hear from the other side from Rick Tocchet!   Zachticum then breaks down 'The Big Save of the Game' presented by Christopher Boyle where Zach gives it to Arturs Silovs when he made a series of saves on the powerplay.   Zach then lays down the 'Player of the Game' presented by Damon Bunting where he goes to the many who started and won his first career playoff start in the NHL!   Tom Gazzola closes the show out by looking at a few texts and into the Nasty Chat!       GAME SUMMARY:   In the first period, both teams put on the pressure with the Oilers being the only team to capitalize doing so off the stick of Leon Draisaitl on the powerplay.   During the first frame, Evander Kane took a 4-minute minor with a crosscheck against Tyler Myers and the Oilers were able to kill it off.   In the second period, both teams had their chances and extended zone pressure but the offensive zone play went in favour of the Edmonton Oilers where Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored in the 39th minute of the game right before the break.   Entering the third period, the Oilers were gifted another powerplay but Vancouver was able to kill it thanks to some game-savers by Arturs Silovs. Connor Garland from the slot with about 13 minutes left in the period made it a one-goal game.   After scoring their first of the game, the Canucks continued ticking up their zone time pouring on more shots towards Pickard.   During one moment down the stretch, Arturs Silovs played chicken with Evander Kane to deny him a rush on goal.   To try and tie the game, the Vancouver Canucks pulled their goalie with 2:30 left.   With Silovs pulled, Elias Petterson won a faceoff against Derek Ryan and Brock Boeser was able to rip it towards the net and tie it with a bounce off a body in front with the rubber getting in off the heel of Dakota Joshua.   The two clubs grinded it out in the last minute with Draisaitl going to work in the Canucks zone where he sent it to the point for Bouchard to take the lead once again.
