On today's episode of Locked on Oilers, we take a look at what a potential Klim Kostin contract extension may look like for the Oilers! Kostin has become a fan favourite in Edmonton and for good reason; Fifth on the team in goals, second in hits, and three major fights against the likes of Patrick Maroon and Zack Kassian have launched Kostin to stardom in YEG. But, how valuable is all this in a contract extension? Plus, we go over the overtime loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets last night. And our Bakersfield Condors Report! Another Friday has landed on your calendar and that means the boys are back with a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to help make sense of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today's podcast, we recapped last night's win over the Islanders, Klim Kostin moving up in the lineup, and a whole lot more.Kicking off today's podcast, we got started with a conversation about Klim Kostin in the top six and whether or not he has done enough to stick there for any length of time. Does Kostin have the skill to play up with the big boys for a longer length of time than just a cup of coffee? From there, we looked at the Oilers last two games against the Kraken and the Islanders and how those two games were so drastically different. After a player-only meeting, the Oilers came up with one of their best 60-minute efforts we've seen in quite some time. The question, however, is whether or not they'll be able to turn a game like that into another strong effort against the Colorado Avalanche. Lastly, we wrapped up the podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to make sense of the last few days. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
In Hour 2 we heard from Tom Gazzola in the Chronicles, a chat between Gregor and Klim Kostin, and asked 5 Questions

Plus, a preview of the game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Seattle Kraken! The last time these two teams played, the Oilers won 7-2 on Friday, what can the oilers do to continue their success against the newest NHL Franchise? Another Friday has landed on your calendar and that means the boys are back with a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to help make sense of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today's podcast, we're talking about Jesse Puljujarvi, the Joel Edmundson rumours, and a whole lot more.Kicking off today's podcast, we got started with a conversation about Joel Edmundson and how the Oilers have been linked to his name over the last couple of weeks since everyone in the league knows we need defence. While all of us agreed that Edmundson would probably help the team, the current cost of acquisition + the cap hit makes this a tough deal to make without having some salary going back the other way. If the Edmundson trade doesn't work, who else could make sense? Sticking with the rumour mill, we looked at the latest Jesse Puljujarvi drama and whether or not the big Finn will still be around for much longer. Changing gears, we looked at Klim Kostin's emergence as a fan favourite after being acquired for Dmitri Samorukov in the offseason, and how his style of play is exactly what this city cheers for. Lastly, we wrapped up the podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to make sense of the last few days. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Another Thursday has landed on the calendar, which means the boys from the Real Life Podcast are back with a whole lot to talk about to wrap up the week. On today's show, the guys looked at last night's win over the Arizona Coyotes, Aaron Judge's new deal, TikTok algorithms, and more.Kicking off today's podcast, the guys started with a look at Tyler's food choices after he rolled into the podcast studio with a Tupperware full of rice and carrots. With that out of the way, the guys turned back to last night's Oilers game and how the 8-2 blowout against the Arizona Coyotes was really the only acceptable result. Even though it was fun to see the Oilers put up a touchdown and a rouge, it was one of those nights where anything less than that would be unacceptable. Changing gears, the guys spent some time talking about the TikTok algorithm and how Baggedmilk loves to try and ruin Tyler's experience by sending him the strangest possible videos. Turning back to the Oilers, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with a look at Mark Spector's article about Jesse Puljujarvi that went up at Sportsnet yesterday and how it kicked a hornet's nest in this city to say the least. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Oilers are back out on the road after a quick pitstop back at home, which means we had plenty to talk about on the brand new Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On today's show, we're talking about last night's comeback win over Florida, the comeback against the Rangers, Evan Bouchard's resurgence, and a whole lot more.To kick off this week's Tuesday podcast, we got started with a conversation about what has been the most impressive aspect of the two comeback wins the Oilers rattled off against the Rangers and then the Panthers. Whether it's the depth scoring, the sense of urgency, or the way the boys didn't quit when things looked rough, there are plenty of reasons to be happy about the way the last two wins. From there, we looked at some key performances from players like Evan Bouchard and Dylan Holloway, and how it's been a lot of fun to see them contribute at huge moments in the last two wins. We also looked at how the Oilers will be playing without a bunch of their regulars as the team is battling injuries like crazy right now. Not injured but still unavailable, Klim Kostin won't be with the Oilers tomorrow in Chicago as he awaits a new work visa after riding through on a temporary pass over the last couple of weeks. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ON Radio with a tribute from Tyler to our friend Lowetide after he revealed that his beloved wife Jo-Anne passed away this past week after a battle with cancer. From all of us here at Oilersnation, we offer all of our love to LT and his family. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We break down are last two Twitter Polls and discuss which team will have a better season this year. As we did last week, we now give our playoff teams and a bubble team from the Atlantic and Central divisions, with not much difference in our lists. Let us know who your picks are. It’s been a fast-moving off-season. Hell, a lot has happened since we recorded THIS podcast (i.e. the free agent frenzy). Nonetheless, we soldier on and deliver you a recap of just some of the things that happened since the Stanley Cup was awarded. Among our topics for Episode #160: * Our beers. * The Vegas Golden Knights selected their team and pried David Perron away from the Blues in the process. * The trade of Jori Lehtera and two first-round picks to the Flyers for Brayden Schenn as well as the circumstances leading to that trade. * The trade of Ryan Reaves and a second-round pick to the Penguins for Oskar Sundqvist and a first-round pick and how awesome of a trade that was. * The drafting of Robert Thomas, Klim Kostin (!!!), Alexey Toropchenko, David Noel, Trenton Bourque and Anton Andersson into the Blues’ prospect pool. * A small peek ahead into free agency (which hadn’t happened yet as of this recording).
Craig Button loves the upside of Cale Makar, Cody Glass, and Martin Necas, and suggests Klim Kostin may be waiting a while to be drafted. Craig also suggests Timothy Liljegren could go very high or not be picked until Saturday. Craig wouldn’t be surprised if Makar went first overall to New Jersey
