We continue our analysis of some of the top fantasy teams with the most elite options to rule your fantasy pool with a stop in Edmonton and a look into the Oilers with Locked On Oilers host Brett Holden. There are some big expectations on this Oilers group which means a lot to discuss from a fantasy standpoint, including what's in store for up-and-coming blue-liner Evan Bouchard, who will get a big opportunity to establish himself as a legit fantasy hockey threat in the NHL today. Jack Campbell's offseason addition to a group that made the Western Conference Final is an intriguing topic for more than a few reasons, including what it means for backup Stuart Skinner. Connor McDavid might be running short on patience if the Oilers fail to make noise in the postseason, but that remains to be seen. So does the overall output of forward Jesse Puljujarvi. You're 60% of the way through your week and that can only mean one thing — a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never to welcome into your earholes. This week I'm looking at the Boundary Battle of Alberta, Connor McDavid's first presser back in town, Ryan McLeod's contract, and a whole lot more.To kick off this week's episode of BLTN, I jumped in with a quick look at the Boundary Battle of Alberta event that Woz, Kennedy, and Kylie covered for us this past weekend, and how I was absolutely stunned that we were granted access to any of the players. Needless to say, it hasn't exactly been easy for us to make these kinds of things happen over the years and that's why I was shocked to see how things played out. Getting back to the current team, I walked through the latest information about Ryan McLeod's upcoming contract and also the potential for Jake Virtanen to be an Oiler even though it doesn't seem like many people are interested in the experiment. Sticking with the Vitanen rumour, the other component of this nonsense rumour is that it would require someone to go and many think it would be Jesse Puljujarvi. I mean, really? It's ridiculous. I also spent some time talking about jersey ads and Jack Campbell's new gear setup, which all looks incredible if you ask me. Lastly, I wrapped up the episode with another round of voicemails to get your take on what's been going on over the last week in your life.Want to leave a voicemail for next week's show? Do it here! From there, Tyler told the story of his upcoming trip to Buffalo and how a credit card mishap left him paying significantly more than initially anticipated. Tyler also talked about playing in a charity baseball game this past weekend and how he ended up teetering on the edge of failure before rounding his game back into form. Getting back to the Oilers, the guys talked about a tweet from Ryan Rishaug earlier today that suggested the team is still considering/exploring a Jesse Puljujarvi trade. If you're a big fan of Wednesdays then there is no doubt in my mind that you'll also be fired up about a brand new episode of Better Lait Than Never. To kick off this week's podcast, I got started with a look at my weekend and specifically how I've never felt older than I did when I took my missus to K-Days on Saturday night. From the moment we walked in until the cab picked us up after the fireworks, that was easily one of the most expensive reminders that I'm an old guy now that I've ever had. Getting back to the Oilers, I looked at the limited news that's been happening with the team over these last week, including Kevin Lowe's retirement announcement and Adidas stepping out as the NHL's official gear provider. I also spent some time talking about Kailer Yamamoto's next contract as Bob Stauffer speculated on Twitter last week that our fun-sized hero may be in life for a multi-year extension rather than a 'see you at the same time next year' deal like Jesse Puljujarvi signed last week. On today's show, we looked at Jesse Puljujarvi's new deal, the Matthew Tkachuk trade, and a whole lot more.To kick off this week's podcast, we got started with a conversation about the Pacific Division and specifically how everyone else has been doing through these first few weeks of free agency. Have any of these teams improved to the point of being the Oilers' biggest threat in the division? From there, we looked at the monster trade the Calgary Flames made last Friday after they sent Matthew Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Jonathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, a prospect, and a 1st round pick. Will the Flames be able to hold onto both guys? Did they fleece the Panthers like so many people are saying? Getting back to the Oilers, we looked at the Jesse Puljujarvi extension that came down last week and what we expect from the former 4th-round pick in 2016. Can Pulujujarvi build upon the strong start he had before suffering a few injuries down the stretch? Most of the free agency heavy lifting is now behind us, and that means this week's episode of Better Lait Than Never is all about what the Oilers need to get done before the season starts and a whole lot of nonsense. To kick off this week's podcast, I jumped in with a confession about poor adulting on my part, and specifically how I'm still so bad at doing many common household chores despite pushing 40 years old. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not so sure that I'm bad at some of these things so much as I just hate doing them, which means I probably put in less effort than I should. Thankfully, a lot of you fine folks seem to be in the same situation as I got flooded with responses when I asked about everyone's most hated chores. Getting to the Oilers, I looked at the Jesse Puljujarvi extension that saw him re-sign with the team on a one-year, $3 million contract. As much as it was exciting for me to see Jesse's name on a new deal, the question I have now is whether or not he'll actually be here when the season rolls around. Dare to dream? From there, I spent even more time harping on the Oilers' defensive situation as I still don't think this group will be good enough to truly be considered a Stanley Cup contender. But can this problem be fixed ahead of the season? That's the big question. Lastly, I wrapped up the episode with another round of voicemails to get your take on what's been going on over the last few days in your life. The NHL Draft and the start of free agency are now behind us, and that means this week's episode of Better Lait Than Never is dedicated to what's left to get done for the Oilers and a whole lot of nonsense. To kick off the podcast, I jumped in with a confession about how annoying this part of the NHL offseason can be simply because it's filled with only speculation and not a whole lot of real news. That said, maybe the lack of news is a good thing? I mean, we could be like Calgary Flames fans that are living in constant dread that their team will lose not only one of its best players but two of them in a single offseason. Now that Gaudreau is off to Columbus, the conversation has turned to what's going to happen with Matthew Tkachuk and whether or not he'll even be in Calgary once the season rolls around in October. Up here in Edmonton, the Oilers got the bulk of their heavy lifting done on day one of free agency but that doesn't mean there aren't still items left on the ol' to-do list, including decisions to be made on Jesse Puljujarvi, Kailer Yamamoto, and Ryan McLeod. We are finally back after a 2 week hiatus but boy are we back with a vengeance.  Not only do we recap the Oilers current position ahead of free agency including Evander Kane, Jesse Puljujarvi, and the rest of the rumoured moves for cap space as well as what free agents excite us or not if we can't lock down Kane. We also do quite a bit of breakdown across the league on the latest coaching changes, Woodcroft's extension and whatever else tickled us in the moment.  Besides the NHL talk we went all over the map as we will probably be doing increasingly more over the offseason and it was such a blast! We talked Formula 1 crashes, Go-karting, Nick trying stand up, LIV golf, PGA response and about 50 other random topics and rabbit holes that had us laughing our bags off! I know I'm starting to say this every week but this might be our best episode yet and we couldn't be more proud of the episodes we are starting to turn out! Do us a favour and share this episode far and wide and lets get this podcast on fire before puck drop on next years season and stay tuned in and subscribed all off season for more shenanigans like this!

It's NHL Draft week and the boys are back with a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you get ready with an hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today's show, we looked at the Jesse Puljujarvi situation, waiting on Mike Smith and Duncan Keith, draft week predictions, and a whole lot more.Kicking off this week's podcast, we got started with a look ahead at the NHL Draft that's coming up on Thursday and Friday of this week, and what kind of moves the Oilers may make as they navigate the weekend. Could the first-round pick be on the move? Will a roster player get traded? From there, we dove into the Jesse Puljujarvi situation and got everyone's feelings on what could be the end of the road for a former 4th overall pick. Regardless of what happens in this situation, Oilers fans are going to have passionate takes regardless of what happens and it will be fascinating to see how these rumours actually play out. Sticking with the rumour mill, we also looked at the potential for Claude Giroux coming to Edmonton after a couple of insiders stated that there could be a fit between the Oilers and the former Flyers captain. Even if the Giroux rumours don't come to fruition, the Oilers are being linked to plenty of moves and players these days and that could make for a spicy couple of weeks around here and I am incredibly excited to see how it all plays out. Thursday has landed on your calendar which means the boys from the Real Life Podcast are back with a brand new episode to help you get through what's left of your week. On today's show, the guys looked at the Oilersnation Open, Jesse Puljujarvi's future with the Oilers, and a whole more.Kicking off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with a chat about the Oilersnation Open that's set for August 19th out at Cattail Crossing after listener, Ryan, won the bid to golf with the boys for an amazing $1300. With all of the money going to Gregor's Grads, the guys were blown away by the generosity and cannot wait to get out on the course. Getting back to the Oilers, the guys looked at the Jesse Puljujarvi situation after Tom Gazolla reported that the player and team are seemingly heading for a split. Obviously, it's disappointing for a lot of us to see that the relationship has soured once again after what felt like a wonderful reunion only a few years ago. Next up, the podcast fell off the rails as Wanye shared more details about his rap album, including Baggedmilk getting shut out after offering to drop a verse on this album.
