When I first heard the phrase "Depression can sometimes be repressed anger", it was like the stars aligned. I couldn't unsee the things I was angry about, but often I was told that "that's just how it is" or that there are bigger problems or that it wasn't actually a problem so I would then try not to be angry and would then find myself on the slippery slope down to feeling like there was no hope. In this episode I share how this has come up for me and some tips and tricks on how to work through it. If you would like help or support with this process, you can join my free Facebook community, tradeswomen owning their power, or if you would like 1:1 support or you are a business wanting to make the workplace better for tradeswomen and minorities, you can inquire through my website, louiseazzopardi.com This episode is proudly sponsored by midies. Often, when we interact with someone, their emotional state is left over from their last interaction or from earlier in the day and is not about you (which is often the path our brain goes down). In this episode, I go through some tips and tricks on how to separate yourself from other people's emotions because, honestly, they most likely are not about you. When you walk into a workplace that has its values written on the wall and one of them is "flexibility" you would imagine that you would be able to ask for some adjustments in your work hours and be respected and treated equally while taking those adjustments, but that is not always the case. In my experience, about half the companies that preach flexibility actually give it and the other half use it as a tactic to get people in and then punish them for taking flexibility that they originally offered. In this episode, I talk about how this can come up. Unfortunately, I do not have a solution for you right now but I do have a few things you can try to see if they can create some change in your situation.
