Play Episode Listen Later Apr 8, 2022 8:43

Episode 156. The Moon spends about two and a half days in a sign. The Moon can indicate emotions, daily routines, and the mood of the public. Let's go through each sign: Aries - When the Moon is in Aries, the energy is high and folks are feeling optimistic. This is your best day to start new things. Take a risk, be decisive, and get ready to move at the speed of light. Also: speak up and lead. Watch out for impulse and aggression. Taurus - When the Moon is in Taurus, the pace slows down. Security and luxury may both play a role in this day. Find the balance between saving for the future and treating yourself. Cook nourishing meals, organize your home, take care of practical matters, and put pampering on the schedule. Watch out for stubbornness and grudge matches. Gemini - When the Moon is in Gemini, mental energy is elevated. This day is excellent for running errands, studying, writing, catching up with friends, and reading all the books. You may be more social than usual too. Watch out for restlessness and a tendency to scatter yourself in too many directions. Cancer - When the Moon is in Cancer, it's truly at home because the Moon rules Cancer. Security is the driving force and you may be more focused on home and family. Get your nest in order, spend time with loved ones, take care of your elders or children. Emotions are strong - and so is intuition. Follow your gut and be sensitive to other people's feelings as well as your own. Watch out for moodiness and a tendency to cling. Leo - When the Moon is in Leo, life feels fun! This is an excellent day for play, showing off, and adorning yourself in all the glittery things. Leo rules the heart so be sure to follow yours as much as possible. Express your feelings with big, bold gestures and above all, don't play small. Watch out for drama or a tendency to hog the spotlight. Virgo - When the Moon is in Virgo, it's time to take care of all the little things. Handle the details, declutter your home, organize plans, and clean up your act. A practical, service-oriented approach is best in all matters. This is also a fabulous day for upgrading your health regimens. Mental activity is strong and a desire for routines may lead to lots of fretting over the small stuff. Watch for a tendency to get hung up on perfectionism. Libra - When the Moon is in Libra, the energy becomes harmonious and balanced. You can create beauty in any area of your life. Tend to your most important relationships - you can strengthen them now. Also: Libra is associated with justice, making this the perfect day to speak up if you see injustice anywhere. Diplomacy and tact are needed if you're trying to negotiate deals. This is not a great day for decision-making as this lunation tends to create analysis paralysis and people-pleasing vibes. You'll also want to watch out for passive-aggressiveness in yourself and others. Scorpio - When the Moon is in Scorpio, you can get to the bottom of things. Intuition allows you to see through every situation. In other words, your bullshit detector operates on full volume today. Feelings tend to be intense and may lean toward the dramatic. While this can add excitement to the day, anger can boil over, and brooding needs to be avoided. This is an excellent Moon for handling finances, getting laid, and enjoying some alone time. You'll want to watch out for jealousy and vindictiveness. Sagittarius - When the Moon is in Sagittarius, we're all feeling jovial and restless. This is your day to roam, travel, and broaden your horizons. Why sit still when there is so much to see and do? Truth and freedom vibrate strongly this day - be ready to take a stand if you witness something unethical going down. Seek adventures and be sure to have fun! Above all, remain spontaneous as you never know when some interesting new opportunity may arise. Watch out for hypocrisy or a tendency to push your beliefs on others. Capricorn - When the Moon is in Capricorn, you can get so much done. Create a plan of action, organize your tools, and keep going! Be ambitious! Big goals can be accomplished today if you stay on it. This is also your best day to revamp the structures in your life, especially around your career and finances. Look at the long term and plan accordingly. Watch out for materialism and a tendency to put ambitions above people. Also: don't be too serious. Lighten up. Aquarius - When the Moon is in Aquarius, it's a wonderful time to connect with friends. Attend gatherings, throw a party, or meet up for lunch. Also, other types of group activities may be attractive now, especially those with humanitarian goals. Get involved in a worthy cause and start creating an inclusive future. Logic rules now, making it easier to solve problems while remaining objective. You may be drawn to unusual experiences as well. This is a favorable day for updating your technology. Watch out for aloofness or a desire for freedom at all costs. Pisces - When the Moon is in Pisces, emotions run deep and intuition is heightened. We're all in our feelings and it's easy to get lost there. Ground and center as much as possible. This is a sensitive lunation, which makes it easier to understand how the other person feels. Compassion is strong and a desire to help your fellow humans leads the way. The Pisces Moon can lead to escapism too. Watch out for overindulging in substances - or unproductive daydreaming.

    Pluto Transits Through the Signs

Episode 171. Pluto takes about 248 years to cycle through every sign in the zodiac, which means it spends anywhere from 14 to 30 years in a sign. Pluto transits show where transformation is taking place.  Keep in mind there is a destruction phase before the evolution happens. Pluto is never easy, but it always leaves things better than where it found it so to speak. Because Pluto spends so long in a sign, it represents generational shifts. Let's go through each sign: Aries - When Pluto is in Aries, the focus shifts to individualism. It's a time when the bold step forward to blaze new trails. It's a fantastic period for exploring and experimenting. Because of the impulsive nature of Aries, it's also possible mistakes can be made. Carelessness and selfish motives need to be avoided as much as possible under this transit. Taurus - When Pluto is in Taurus, resources go through massive changes. It can be a time of great monetary gains and losses. The shadow side is exploiting others for gain. That includes pillaging the earth. During this transit, great care must be taken to protect the earth as well as oppressed people from the privileged few. Gemini - When Pluto is in Gemini, our way of communicating changes. We might see great advances in transportation as well. The last time Pluto was in Gemini, the telephone was developed, which changed the way we connect with each other. It's possible teleportation, or new forms of technology may be developed that could end pollution the next time Pluto moves through this sign. Cancer - When Pluto is in Cancer, security is the theme. Countries could go through periods of economic uncertainty, which could find people making major adjustments to how they handle their resources. The way we live is also up for review. Families and homes could look much different by the end of this transit. Leo - When Pluto is in Leo, the focus is on youth. There could be a lot of babies being born or a generation of young people who start making waves. How we do leisure may change too. Different forms of play or sports may emerge. This transit could also see bold new artists emerge. The shadow side is “me me me,” something that characterized the boomers who were born during the last Pluto in Leo transit. Virgo - When Pluto is in Virgo, working conditions go through massive changes. The old way gets dismantled so new technological advances can be built. Virgo is associated with service, so how we take care of marginalized people can also change. Of course, that isn't necessarily a good development, especially if the ones in charge have a “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” philosophy. (So Virgo!) Libra - When Pluto is in Libra, issues around law and fairness become center stage. New laws could be written, which could create better equity. This is a time for social justice, so there could also be unrest. Relationships may also undergo a complete transformation. The old way is over, and people may choose to be together in nontraditional ways. Scorpio - When Pluto is in Scorpio, our feelings about sex change. This could mean a sexual revolution or a time when people become more cautious. Either way, something happens that makes people question issues around consent, monogamy, and free love. The last time Pluto was in Scorpio brought the AIDS epidemic, which drastically shifted the way we behaved in casual encounters. Sagittarius - When Pluto is in Sagittarius, it can mean more travel. The world suddenly becomes smaller and global. We can see how the other half lives and learn from them. Education trends could shift too. For example, we saw the rise of more online learning the last time Pluto was in Sagittarius. Religion and spirituality can also become hot topics. We might see the collapse of some institutions and the rise of fanatical cults. Capricorn - When Pluto is in Capricorn, governments, and corporations undergo changes. For example, some governments could fall while other, newer leaders emerge. The battle between the old way and progress is fierce during this transit as the few try to cling to power, even if they have to resort to unfair tactics. Corporations can rise and fall as well. This is a tense transit, but when it comes to a close, some political parties could die off, which may end up being a good thing. Aquarius - When Pluto is in Aquarius, technological advances are possible. Innovation can pave the way for new ways of living, working, and communicating. Communities are also undergoing changes. There could be gentrification or different ways of living in harmony with each other. Pluto in Aquarius can signal rebellion too. If society is unjust, revolution is possible. All for one and one for all! Pisces - When Pluto is in Pisces, artists are going to influence the way we live. New artists could emerge at this time, inspiring us all to make necessary changes. Spirituality is also ready for new leaders. We might see the rise of different belief systems as the old ones begin to fade. It's also possible the ocean could undergo a significant change, especially if we don't adopt different habits. Water supplies could become contaminated or dry up. However, this could inspire people to finally start caring about climate change, sparking a new effort to heal Mother Earth.

    Neptune Transits Through the Signs

Episode 170. Neptune transits last about fourteen years, which means it takes 165 years to move through the entire zodiac. Neptune transits show where dream, create, and find faith. It also can shed light on where we may be delusional. Let's go through each sign: Aries - When Neptune is in Aries, it's time to find the line between individualism and the collective. While doing your own thing may seem like the ideal fantasy, it can also mean you're ignoring how you fit into the bigger picture. Aries is a warrior, so this transit can also bring holy wars or foolish risks. Taurus - When Neptune is in Taurus, idealism around money and resources is possible. You may have get-rich-quick-schemes or feel like abolishing the patriarchy. This is an excellent transit for artists - you can apply practicality to your visions. Gambling should be avoided as much as possible during this transit. One minute you're up; the next, you're broke. Gemini - When Neptune is in Gemini, writers have the ability to convey their thoughts beautifully. Communication becomes transcendent, and there may be much originality in music, literature, and poetry. Spiritual teachers emerge, bringing new messages of hope to the world. The shadow side is a lack of focus or a feeling of disillusionment with the world. When that happens, apathy sets in, and not much gets done. Cancer - When Neptune is in Cancer, the psychic ties to the home, family, and past become stronger. Empathy is also elevated, giving everyone the opportunity to understand how the other guy feels. An ideal house or family may become possible. However, the ties to the family can also become addictive and clingy. Leo - When Neptune is in Leo, dreams become big and bold. Music, art, and cinema reach new heights. Life feels downright romantic and glittery too. However, you must exercise great caution during this period. If you're spending like there's no tomorrow, you could squander your resources. The Roaring 20s happened when Neptune was in Leo - a cautionary tale of too much of a good thing. Virgo - When Neptune is in Virgo, it's not happy. The dreamy energy becomes brought down to earth. During this transit, you need to focus on practical matters. Instead of the extravagance of Neptune in Leo, thriftiness and saving are necessary. It's time to get back to basics, including taking care of yourself. You'll also want to watch out for excessive worry, which can quickly turn to hypochondria. Libra - When Neptune is in Libra, life seems to go back into balance after the extremes of Leo and Virgo. We can find the middle road, and peace prevails. Relationships could be idealistic - or you might find the rose-colored glasses get ripped off, revealing an unpleasant truth. This transit is excellent for artists and designers. Scorpio - When Neptune is in Scorpio, sex, drugs, and rock and roll are the mood. Intuition is elevated, and everyone wants to tune in, turn on, and drop out. Morals could become blurry, and what was once taboo may be out in the open. This is a marvelous time to develop your clairvoyance. Spiritual regeneration is also a possibility. The shadow side is secrets coming to the surface. That thing you want to stay in the dark is suddenly thrust out, and now everyone knows. Sagittarius - When Neptune is in Sagittarius, we're all on a quest for truth and spirituality. We want to broaden our horizons through travel to distant places or exploring different religions. This is the time to question your place in the world. What's it all about? Sometimes people can fall under the spell of dubious gurus or spiritual leaders during this time. The rise of cults and fanaticism could lead to the other extreme: cynicism. Capricorn - When Neptune is in Capricorn, we can build the dream at last. Dreams can become a reality, provided you're ready to do the work. During this transit, governments and institutions can become unstable. Suddenly it's revealed that the emperor doesn't wear clothes. New ideas on how things should be run could emerge. This transit can bring problems with the stock market and financial institutions - you'll want to invest carefully if you wish to avoid draining your resources. Aquarius - When Neptune is in Aquarius, technological advances are possible. New ideas on how to use technology can change the way we live. This is an amazing transit for science - many breakthroughs could happen. Neptune in Aquarius puts humanitarian causes front and center. Instead of “me me me,” an equitable world becomes attainable. Pisces - When Neptune is in Pisces, it's at home because Pisces is ruled by Neptune. Spirituality, art, and intuition are elevated. Many spiritual leaders, mystics, activists, and artists will arrive on the scene. This is a lovely time to explore your creative side as well as your connection to something greater than yourself. The shadow side of this transit is addiction, religious zealotry, and a willingness to turn a blind eye toward oppressed people.

Episode 169. Uranus hangs around in each sign for about seven years. Uranus transits are associated with change and liberation. We want innovation and freedom in the areas each sign rules. We might also experience shake-ups and wake-ups. Let's go through each sign: Aries - When Uranus is in Aries, we want to do our own thing. Aries is the pioneer and concerned with blazing trails rather than playing it safe. This is not the time for conformity. Instead, Uranus in Aries celebrates the rebels. However, taken too far, that rebelliousness could turn into selfishness. Taurus - When Uranus is in Taurus, finances tend to fluctuate. While some risk is okay, it's best not to gamble. You could lose a fortune if you do. This transit can bring unstable economies, inflation, and unexpected job changes. However, it can also deliver unexpected wealth. Sometimes Uranus in Taurus can affect the earth as in unpredictable weather. Gemini - When Uranus is in Gemini, there can be amazing progress in technology, education, and transportation. Uranus likes being in the intellectual sign of the Twins. Here the mind is free to think, ponder, and learn. Get your science on, read a book, and take plenty of trips when this transit is going on. Cancer - When Uranus is in Cancer, changes to the home or family could happen. For example, there could be technological advances for the home. Or perhaps funky decor becomes all the rage. It's also possible that the traditional family unit could become untraditional in some way. Leo - When Uranus is in Leo, innovations in art, music, or the performing arts are possible. This is a period where the new shakes up the old, and what was once “in” becomes “out.” Expect plenty of people getting their 15 minutes of fame now. Uranus in Leo may also lead to unconventional parenting. Instead of following the rules, the kids have room to breathe. Virgo - When Uranus is in Virgo, there may be lots of changes around the workplace. People may move away from traditional jobs, or technology could make some work obsolete. New diets or health fads may be in vogue now. Whether those stay or die off will depend on how effective they are. Libra - When Uranus is in Libra, relationships go through a revolution. For example, there could be large-scale cultural changes that impact the way people meet, marry, or live together. It's also possible a desire for freedom may play a role in how folks feel about commitment. This transit can bring about divorces or sudden changes in long-term relationships. Scorpio - When Uranus is in Scorpio, what's considered taboo comes out of the closet. Secrets are revealed, sexual liberation is hot, and everyone wants to get it on! This transit is ideal for testing out new technology for sex too. The economy could be somewhat erratic, so it's best to keep an eye on your money if you want to avoid loss. Sagittarius - When Uranus is in Sagittarius, changes to travel, education, and spirituality are possible. New methods of traveling the globe, as well as education reform, could radically alter the way we see the world or learn. Radical religions could be on the uptick. During this time, you'll want to explore new worlds and keep an open mind about other people's belief systems. Capricorn - When Uranus is in Capricorn, there could be massive changes in government. Democracies could rise and fall. It's also the time to question traditional values. For example, if you've always gone along with the customs of your family, maybe you'll want to change that up. Transiting Uranus in Capricorn can also open the door for new types of businesses or innovations in corporations. Aquarius - When Uranus is in Aquarius, it is at home because Uranus rules Aquarius. You can expect bold ideas, revolutionary thinking, and massive technological advances. You might also experience sudden changes in your friendships. For example, you might move and end up with an entirely new circle of pals. This transit is favorable for humanitarian goals, but it can also bring about radical ideologies. Pisces - When Uranus is in Pisces, there is a war between logic and fantasy. While this could be an excellent transit for avant-garde art forms and music or sci-fi writing, it can also open up the door for far-out belief systems. We tend to do a lot more navel-gazing during this transit. Prison reform, as well as technological advances in hospitals, is also possible.

Episode 165. Mars spends about two months in a sign. Mars transits show how we're taking action, following our passions, expressing energy, or fighting. It can also give clues to how anger is manifesting. Let's go through each sign: Aries - When Mars is in Aries, it's in the sign it rules. This means it can express the energy freely. Mars in Aries puts an aggressive, fiery vibe into the air. It's easier to find the courage to take risks now. Time flies quickly and you might be starting all sorts of new things. But this transit tends to make people hot-headed and impulsive. Taurus - When Mars is in Taurus, the pace is slower. You can achieve your goals but it may take more time. The good side of this transit: patience is on tap, which helps to keep the momentum going…slowly. Mars in Taurus can also bring out the stubbornness in people, which can lead to grudge matches. Gemini - When Mars is in Gemini, words are fast and furious. They can become sharp weapons as well, so you need to keep that in mind if you end up in a war of wits. This transit brings a short attention span. One moment you're engrossed in a book, the next minute, you're peeling onions for a new recipe. Be careful so you don't scatter your forces to the wind. Cancer - When Mars is in Cancer, the energy is “mother lion.” We're ready to defend our next of kin and protect our homes. Goals can change depending on moods. Mars in Cancer is also a bit cranky at times. If you're feeling moody, be careful you don't take it out on the ones you love. Leo - When Mars is in Leo, we can take the lead and inspire the masses! This is a fabulous transit for starting creative projects, taking command at work, and self-promotion. Toot your horn and make it loud! Set all the big goals and have faith you can attain them. This transit is more concerned with the overall picture, making it too easy to overlook the important details. Virgo - When Mars is in Virgo, work becomes a god. You're ready to shut out distractions and get it done. This is a highly productive transit, best for handling projects that require concentration. Energy is intense and you can get to the bottom of anything. You can also rise to the top of a particular goal. Mars in Scorpio transits are excellent for exploring taboo topics and managing crises. However, it can bring out emotional extremes - and that could lead to explosive anger. Sagittarius - When Mars is in Sagittarius, we want to be free to do our thing. The day-to-day grind is less interesting. Instead, the urge to explore the world at large drives us. This can lead to restlessness, which needs to be kept in check. If it isn't, it becomes too easy to chuck responsibilities in search of the next cool thing. That being said, it's a fab transit for travel or hitting the books. Capricorn - When Mars is in Capricorn, the energy becomes grounded, making it possible to move mountains. Like Mars in Virgo, you can get a lot of things accomplished now. Set your goals high and like the mountain goat, keep going. Ambition is king during this transit. While this is one of the best transits for the red planet, it can also make folks a bit selfish. Aquarius - When Mars is in Aquarius, we're all in the mood for change. This could lead to rebellion against the norm. Why do the usual when there are cooler things to do? This means the energy is somewhat funky. Instead of a straight line to the top, it's more like a zig-zag. This Mars transit isn't selfish though. All for one and all for one is the mode. Shared power and teamwork make the dream work. Pisces - When Mars is in Pisces, it's not too happy. Instead, it's like throwing a wet blanket on a roaring fire. Motivation is weaker and you might need a nudge to get going or to keep going. Emotions can get in the way of action. Be gentle with yourself and others now. Mars in Pisces has everyone in their feels. Rest up, stay hydrated, and keep your energetic shields high.

Episode 164. Do you ever travel somewhere and feel like it's "home?" Or how about the opposite - you arrive and want to leave as soon as you put down your bags? Astrology may have something to say about that. In this episode of Astrology Bytes, Rebecca Gordon talks about Astrocartography, a method of locational astrology that shows how the placements of the planets affect the vibe you might feel in one location versus another. Astrocartography is unique for each individual's chart - it's basically a "map" of where the stars were rising or setting at the time you were born. This creates "planetary lines" that show why you might love one place (Venus) and find another not-so-great (Saturn). It's also used in the Solar Return. Rebecca shares the basics you need to begin understanding this fascinating method!

    Venus Transits Through the Signs

Episode 163. Venus spends about a month in a sign. Venus transits indicate how we're loving, creating, or spending. Let's go through each sign: Aries - When Venus is in Aries, romance gets red-hot. This is a bold, fast-paced transit, which loves the chase more than the commitment. If you're single, it's a great time to be on the prowl! Venus in Aries isn't shy - you can find your swagger now. Original artistic ideas are easier to come by and you might spend your dough faster than it comes in. Watch out for impulse spending under this transit. Taurus - When Venus is in Taurus, romance gets sensuous, affectionate, and tactile. Quality time and plenty of physical touch are IN. However, you can be overindulgent or possessive too. You'll want to keep those tendencies in check. This is an intensely creative period, and artists will find inspiration everywhere. Under this transit, you'll want to invest in quality pieces and plenty of pampering. Gemini - When Venus is in Gemini, you can get your flirt on! Words enchant, and it's best to approach romance through the mind. Your social life could be more active at this time - or you could be dating numerous people. However, this is restless transit so you might find someone fascinating one day, only to get bored with them the next. This transit is excellent for writers. It's also your time to spend money on books, stationery, classes, and anything that feeds your curiosity. Cancer - When Venus is in Cancer, romance becomes old-fashioned. Flowers, home-cooked meals by candlelight, and long walks under the moon keep it burning bright. Emotions tend to be tender, so you'll want to be extra sensitive with your loved ones. During this transit, you'll want to invest in property or things for the home. Leo - When Venus is in Leo, expect plenty of romantic fireworks! Grand gestures, extravagant gifts, and bold declarations of love (preferably in front of an audience) are the way to go. Give your partner plenty of attention and you'll get it returned ten-fold. Also: flattery will get you far! This is an affectionate transit, so the bedroom will be super-hot. Venus in Leo is your best time for splurging on all the self-indulgent things. Elegant dinners, new threads, skimpy lingerie, and all the entertainment - yes, please! Virgo - When Venus is in Virgo, acts of service is the love language. The little things matter now - taking care of details, catering to your partner's needs, or being practical will keep love humming along. This isn't considered the most romantic transit, but I have found it can be an opportunity to be thoughtful. What's more loving than paying attention to what your partner needs? This transit is best for spending on pragmatic things such as organizational products, tools, and cleaning supplies. It's also a fantastic time to edit your creative work. Libra - When Venus is in Libra, you can expect romance to rise a few octaves. Venus is happy here and lends an elegant, refined air to matters of the heart. This is an excellent transit to wine and dine. It's also sublime for artists - the muses are singing! Indulge in fine artwork, beautiful clothes, cosmetics, and jewelry. Scorpio - When Venus is in Scorpio, love gets passionate, sexy, and all-consuming. The urge to merge is at an all-time high - a surface relationship won't do. You want to go deep! The shadow side is obsession and possessiveness, two vibes you'll want to guard against if you want to avoid drama. Money attraction seems easier at this time and it's an ideal period for investing in the future - although some folks think it's best for spending on occult supplies and edgy, adult-oriented entertainment. Sagittarius - When Venus is in Sagittarius, fun, and freedom are the name of the game. This is an easy-breezy vibe, which makes it a bit restless. You might feel like you want to roam - and the grass may seem much greener on the other side. A few romantic adventures (more like rom-com capers) are possible under this transit. This is an excellent time to spend your moolah on travel, education, and spiritual growth. Capricorn - When Venus is in Capricorn, quality is important. Not just in love, but also in expenditures. This transit values commitment - so you may be interested in a serious relationship or purchasing things that are built to last. It's also a reserved transit, which means you're less likely to take an impulsive approach to relationships or your finances. Aquarius - When Venus is in Aquarius, you're more likely to want breathing room in your relationships. Instead of closeness, your mantra might be “why can't we be friends?” Friends can become lovers and lovers can become friends. The unconventional is intriguing while conformity is dreadful. Free love, experimenting, and a little rebellion keep things interesting. You might be interested in spending your money on technology, humanitarian causes, and parties with your buddies. Pisces - When Venus is in Pisces, love is next-level. After all, Venus is exalted in the sign of the Fish, which means it's the best expression for the Goddess of Love. Romance is gentle and affectionate -  love is unconditional. Poetry, music, and long make-out sessions allow relationships to bond. You'll have to watch out for boundaries though. It's too easy to say yes when you really mean no. This transit is great for spending on art, music, and giving back to the community. But you'll want to be careful of retail therapy. If you're feeling down, put the credit card away.

Episode 161. Mercury spends about three weeks in a sign. Mercury can indicate changes in communication, ideas, thinking, skills, mental stimulation, conversations, and where you're curious. Aries - When Mercury is in Aries, thinking becomes fast - and so does decision-making. On the high side, this means you're not sitting around waiting for permission to do anything. On the low side, you could be impulsive, which could lead to regrets later on. This transit also brings out blunt but honest communication. You're not afraid to say it like it is - but you could be more argumentative than usual. Taurus - When Mercury is in Taurus, you can slow your thinking down. Instead of rushing to make decisions, you'll prefer to take your time. Your thinking becomes more grounded, patient, and practical. This is an excellent time for discussions around money because security may be on your mind. Watch out for a tendency to be obstinate. Gemini - When Mercury is in Gemini, life seems to hurry by. You're busy, flitting from one situation to the next. Communication is snappy and witty. This is the perfect transit to indulge your intellectual curiosity: take classes or read great books. It's a fabulous time for generating new ideas but you can also be easily distracted with shiny object syndrome. Gossip is exciting now - but you'll want to take some of it with a grain of salt. Cancer - When Mercury is in Cancer, emotions can influence your thinking. You may be more sensitive and intuitive too. However, it's easy to slip into pining away for the past, something you'll want to guard against. If you want to investigate old issues, that's one thing. But clinging to the “good old days” isn't productive. You'll also need to be careful you don't take everything personally at this time. Mercury in Cancer is excellent for strengthening memory and expressing your feelings. Leo - When Mercury is in Leo, your thinking is BIG and bold. This is your best time for grand gestures and theatrical declarations! Take the main stage, grab the mic, and have your say! Heart-to-heart conversations could heal situations or inspire others too (this is a persuasive transit). It's also an excellent few weeks to talk about yourself - provided you don't hog the spotlight.  Virgo - When Mercury is in Virgo, thinking sharpens and becomes analytical. Now you can sort out all the teeny details. Decision-making can happen once you've compared every option - provided you don't get hung up on the fine print. Libra - When Mercury is in Libra, we feel pleasant, tactful, and friendly. Balance is important, which means we want to weigh all sides with care before reaching a judgment. This is also a persuasive transit, so it's favorable for negotiations. However, there can be a tendency to people-please, which may make you feel like going along with things just to avoid conflict. Scorpio - When Mercury is in Scorpio, you can get to the bottom of things. Thinking is sharp, analytical, and probing. You're not content with surface conversations either - you want depth. Intuition is amplified, leading to psychic experiences and lucid dreams. This transit is also ideal for secrets or exploring controversial topics. Watch out for obsessing and brooding as well as a tendency to be sarcastic. Sagittarius - When Mercury is in Sagittarius, thinking becomes optimistic. Suddenly, you feel carefree and ready for fun. Your mind is open and interested in the world at large. Also: your faith increases. Life feels good! This is tolerant transit overall, but sometimes it can bring about hypocrisy. Make sure you question your own beliefs as thoroughly as you question other people's. Capricorn - When Mercury is in Capricorn, the mind is pragmatic, stoic, and orderly. This means you can see the best way to the top of any situation. This is your time to be unapologetically ambitious, to go for the gold and study anything that will further your goals. Mercury in Capricorn also allows the head to lead, which means it's unlikely your emotions will get in the way. Watch out for being rigid and too serious. Remember to keep your humor, Aquarius - When Mercury is in Aquarius, your thinking is inventive, original, and maybe a bit eccentric. You can think outside the box and find new ways to solve problems. During this transit, you can learn new things - and envision the future you want. Conversations are friendly, objective, and intelligent. However, this is another stubborn transit - it's too easy to close people off if you don't like their point of view. Pisces - When Mercury is in Pisces, you can tap into your sensitive side. Compassion rules, and you'll feel like giving the shirt off your back to anyone who appears needy. This is also an imaginative few weeks, ideal for artists, musicians, and writers. Dreams are vivid - and it's easy to get lost in woolgathering. Keep your feet on the ground if you want to avoid getting swept away by your feelings or daydreams!

The Sun's Transits Through the Signs

Episode 155. In this next series of episodes, we will explore transits, beginning with transits through the signs. Today we will cover Sun transits through the signs with brief descriptions on how each transit might impact the general public. The Sun spends about 30 days in a sign. The Sun can indicate general themes and can give clues as to where you need to direct your energy. It can also impact how we express ourselves - or how we should. Let's go through each sign: Aries - When the Sun is in Aries, the energy becomes passionate, intense, and impulsive. We're all raring to go - and this may be the time get started on something new. Whether you're blazing a trail, burning a bridge, or conquering the next big thing, you've got lots of firepower at your disposal. During this period, you can take bold risks. But you'll need to look before you leap because sometimes this transit could find you landing in hot water if you don't. Taurus - When the Sun is in Taurus, the energy is grounded, earth, and chill. This is a time to move slowly towards your goals. Determination is abundant, giving you the ability to make steady progress. Security, money, and sensuality may be focal points during this transit. You can create safety while enjoying life's pleasures. Watch out for stubbornness, which can derail relationships. Don't be a stick in the mud! Gemini - When the Sun is in Gemini, the energy is quick, witty, and curious. A thirst for knowledge may find you taking classes or reading lots of books. Current events may be of interest and your social life could become lively with lots of invites or short trips. You may also be more talkative and engaged in interesting conversations or debates. Watch out for a tendency to be flaky. Keep your head in your books and not the clouds. Cancer - When the Sun is in Cancer, the energy becomes tender and sensitive. You may be “in your feelings” a lot - and so may other folks. This means relationships could get deeper - or more dramatic. Home, family, children, and security become important during this period. You may be interested in taking care of your house and the people you love. Intuition is keen but if emotions run too hot, you can lose your objectivity. Leo - When the Sun is in Leo, it's happy as can be. The Sun rules Leo, so it is at home here. This transit brings out a playful, courageous, and gregarious vibe. You may want more time for leisure. This is a flashy transit - which means the bigger the better. Grand declarations, bold outfits, and grabbing the mic is all the rage. Just be mindful you're not hogging the spotlight. Virgo - When the Sun is in Virgo, details matter. So does practicality. This is your best time to clean up your act and put things into divine order. Look at where you need to declutter your world - and get to work. If you take the time to organize your life now,  you'll move through the year with less stress. The Sun in Virgo also shines a light on your habits. Are you getting enough exercise? How about sleep? What are you putting in your body? Check in and change the course if you're heading in an unhealthy direction. Libra - When the Sun is in Libra relationships are on the front burner. Strengthen your current partnerships - and be ready to welcome new people into your world. Look at how you can compromise. If you're willing to be a good team player, you can go further much faster. Libra favors harmony - which means you'll want to remain diplomatic. A bit of politeness goes a long way now. If you find yourself in the middle of a situation, take a step back and make sure you can remain objective. If you can't, it's better to stay out of it. Decision making can be hard at this time. Give yourself plenty of time to weigh the pros and cons. Lastly watch out for people pleasing and passive-aggressive behavior from yourself or others. Scorpio - When the Sun is in Scorpio, intimacy is IN. How are you sharing your resources and secrets with others? Are you allowing others in or are you hoarding all the goodies for yourself? If you can let go, you can merge your assets - or your body. Scorpio wants depth - a half in half out approach won't work. It's all or nothing. Passions run hot, which adds intensity to this month. Scorpio is also associated with intuition - be sure to trust your instincts in all matters. Watch out for jealousy, brooding, and revenge, the shadow of this strong-willed sign! Sagittarius - When the Sun is in Sagittarius, the vibe is jovial and adventurous. Now is the time to get out and about. Travel around the world if you can. If you can't, look for other ways to broaden your horizons: take classes, read books, have conversations with wise elders. Above all, don't be too fond of your own opinions. Open your mind and you may develop a whole new philosophy. This transit can also bring out foolish optimism and hypocrisy. Keep your feet on the ground and keep it real. Capricorn - When the Sun is in Capricorn, you can get SO MUCH DONE. This is your cue to follow the rules, organize your to-dos, and get to work. If you are willing to do your work, you can go far. Ambitions are strong and it's easier to see which rung to climb to reach the top of the ladder. The harder you work and the more focused you are, the bigger the prizes. Capricorn wants structures and systems - if you don't have them, create them now. But do make sure you have time for play. All work and no play is never a good look on anyone. Aquarius - When the Sun is in Aquarius, everyone feels restless. Change and innovation are IN. Rather than stick with the tried and true, this transit says “let's do something no one else has ever done before.” Shake up your industry, set fashion trends, update your technology to the latest gear, and break a few rules. That being said, a rebel without a cause - let's not do that. Instead, find a worthy cause to support. Friends are playing a big role in this month's events. If it's been a minute since you've had a coffee date with your pals, you can find the time. Pisces - When the Sun is in Pisces you can connect with your feelings. What are your emotions trying to tell you about a given situation? Trust they are giving you the information that you need. Intuition is elevated and compassion is easier to find. You might feel like giving back or helping out folks in need. Give what you can but make sure you don't lose your own shirt along the way. Pisces season is most excellent for artists and musicians. The muses are singing loudly - and creative inspiration is abundant. This transit can bring out flakiness or an unwillingness to face the facts. Be sure to ground and center yourself!

Pluto Through the Houses in the Natal Chart

Play Episode Listen Later Jan 28, 2022 10:15

Episode 151. Pluto is a dwarf planet and the ninth planet from the Sun. It has five known Moons circling around it. Although astronomers tried to demote it, Pluto is still important in astrology. Named after the Greek/Roman god of the underworld,. it's the modern ruler of Scorpio. Pluto is associated with transformation, destruction, creation, regeneration, power, and rebirth. Wherever it sits in your chart shows where you can experience great transformation. However, if afflicted it can show where you become obsessed with power - or abuse it. 1st: Pluto in the first house indicates you are intense and possess a powerful will. Your early life may be filled with stressful situations, but this serves to make you more self-aware. It's possible you may possess clairvoyant abilities as well. Your physical body is powerfully built and you have a strong presence. When you walk into the room, people notice. There is a bit of an aloof quality to your personality. If negatively aspected, you may be difficult to live with and unwilling to cooperate with others. 2nd: Pluto in the second house means you have a strong hustle. You're ambitious for cash and will work hard to achieve material success. You can be extremely resourceful in how you make money. But if afflicted, you may be selfish with your money or you may experience trouble with inheritances, taxes, joint finances, or speculation. 3rd: Pluto in the third house indicates a penetrating mind, one that is able to see through the bullshit and get to the bottom of things. This makes you a natural detective. You have strong opinions and are not afraid to state them either. Your mind is deep and you're great at keeping secrets. If afflicted, you may suffer from bouts of depression - or might be vindictive. 4th: Pluto in the fourth indicates a need to be in control of your home. You want to be the center of attention and king of the castle. This could mean dominating your loved ones - power plays with family could cause friction. If your Pluto is poorly aspected, you may lose a parent early in life or there may be big-time skeletons in the family closet. 5th: Pluto in the fifth house blesses you with natural creativity. You are in touch with your muse and able to tap into genius ideas. Love is an all-or-nothing game. If it's not deep, you're not interested. Your goal: merge with the partner. If Pluto is afflicted, you may be too domineering with your romantic partner or children. It's also probably wise to not gamble if Pluto isn't well aspected in this house. 6th: Pluto in the sixth house could mean you find transformation through your work - or you may possess the ability to transform working conditions. For example, you could be a labor attorney or you may be involved in the healing industry. Because the 6th house is associated with health, you may need to apply your willpower to overcome poor habits and improve your health. If afflicted, you may experience power struggles on the job - or might neglect your body. 7th: Pluto in the seventh house could mean your life is transformed through partnerships. Some of your biggest lessons happen through others - and certain relationships could alter your life in a profound way. You have strong insights into other people's motives, which could make you an excellent psychologist. If poorly aspected, you may try to dominate your partners - or they may try to rule over you. 8th: Pluto in the eighth house elevates intuition. You may be clairvoyant or aware of the energy around you. Your faith is strong and so is your will. When life gets tough, your strength emerges. If Pluto is afflicted, you may experience power struggles over inheritances, insurance, taxes, and joint resources. Sometimes a poorly aspected Pluto in this house can indicate sexual obsession. 9th: Pluto in the ninth house gives a strong interest in transforming the self through higher education, spirituality, or travel. You want to be the biggest, best version of yourself - and are willing to go as far as necessary to achieve that. You're ambitious and competitive, which may drive you to succeed wildly in academics. Social justice is important to you and your moral compass is strong. If afflicted, you could be a religious or political fanatic. You might even try to force your views on other people, which could make you unpopular. 10th: Pluto in the 10th house means you can achieve distinction in your career. You're ambitious for power and will do whatever it takes to get it. You may be a world leader or gifted politician. If you choose to enter politics, you'll want to remain focused on taking care of the public. If you decide to focus on power alone, you'll easily turn into a dictator. If Pluto is afflicted, you may become a controversial figure with a circle of enemies determined to bring you down. 11th: Pluto in the 11th may indicate powerful friends and involvement in group activities centered around humanitarian concerns. You could be a dynamic leader and may attract allies who want to further your mission. If poorly aspected, there could be financial losses through friends - or friendships may suddenly end without rhyme or reason. Some of those friends could become frenemies. 12th: Pluto in the 12th house blesses you with deep spiritual insights and psychic abilities. You're also keenly interested in helping folks, which may lead to work in hospitals, institutions, or charities. Time alone is essential for your well-being, especially if you spend much of your time taking care of other people. If afflicted, you may experience betrayal from secret enemies. You could also be obsessive over slights which may lead to a vindictive streak.

Neptune Through the Houses in the Natal Chart

Episode 146. Neptune is the eighth planet and furthest away from the Sun. As you can imagine, that means it's cold and dark. Like Uranus, it's known as an “ice giant.” It has rings around it like Saturn and 14 moons. It cannot be seen with the naked eye. In astrology, Neptune is associated with illusion, fantasies, inspiration, faith, psychic receptivity, creativity, spirituality, and imagination. Where it lands in your chart can show where you're expressing your creative, spiritual, and mystical potential. If afflicted, it can indicate where you're fooling yourself or deceiving others. 1st: Neptune in the first house indicates you are empathic and possibly clairvoyant. You are keenly aware of how others perceive you - and you pick up on vibes in your surroundings. Your intuition can serve for creative or musical inspiration. Others find you mysterious and alluring. If afflicted, you may be flaky, unreliable, and drift through life. You should probably stay clear of drugs or alcohol. 2nd: Neptune in the second house means you're idealistic about money. You might think “money is the root of all evil” or make your living through creative or spiritual work. If well aspected, you are generous with your revenue and may contribute much of it to good causes. If afflicted, you could be careless or impractical with your resources. It's also possible you may be a freeloader. 3rd: Neptune in the third house blesses you with an intuitive, creative mind. You may be a poet, musician, or psychic. Mystical subjects interest you and you might write about them. This is an excellent position for anyone who works with mass media. If poorly aspected, there may be learning difficulties or much daydreaming. The absent-minded professor is a perfect example of Neptune here. 4th: Neptune in the fourth indicates a strong unconscious tie with the home and mother. Your family may be creative - or psychic. Your home may be decorated in an imaginative way - or you may live near a body of water. If afflicted, your household could be chaotic or there may be many skeletons in the family closet. 5th: Neptune in the fifth house indicates musical or creative talent. You may have a “gift” in the performing arts or a great love of theater. Romance may be unusual in some way and your children could be intuitive. If poorly aspected, there may be secret affairs or unplanned pregnancies. Sometimes an afflicted Neptune in the 5th could produce an absent parent or neglectful one. 6th: Neptune in the sixth house could mean a career in healing, art, or mystical work. Service is important to you - and your work must satisfy you on a deep, spiritual level. You may be interested in taking care of others - or pets. Some people with this placement are able to communicate with animals. If poorly aspected, you may be an unreliable employee, which could lead to problems finding a stable job. It's also possible you may have illnesses that are psychosomatic. Drugs and alcohol should be avoided. 7th: Neptune in the seventh house could mean a strong psychic link to partners. “Love at first sight” or that feeling of “deja vu” with certain romantic relationships is possible. However, if Neptune is afflicted in the 7th house, there may be confusion or deception in relationships. This could also bring public scandals. 8th: Neptune in the eighth house elevates intuition. You may have uncanny insights into other people - and the ability to communicate with the dead. Sex magic and other occult practices may be of interest. If afflicted, this placement could bring loss through joint finances, taxes, embezzlement, or some other deceptive means. 9th: Neptune in the ninth house gives an interest in spirituality and the mystical side of life. You're a seeker. Ashrams, religious pilgrimages, or time spent with gurus may be of interest. You may travel to distant lands to broaden your horizons. If negatively aspected, you may be drawn to cults. You may also have impractical ideas about higher education. For example, you may receive a degree in a topic that proves to be useless. 10th: Neptune in the 10th house casts a glamorous glow over your public life. For example, you may be an actor, musician, or artist. This is also a great position for anyone who works in a spiritual, mystical, or healing industry. You could be a spiritual leader. Your career may require sacrifices as well. If afflicted, Neptune in the 10th house could indicate a scandal due to deception. 11th: Neptune in the 11th may create an unusual social circle with mystics, musicians, artists, and humanitarians. You may be involved in spiritual or charitable groups. However, you must be careful. Even if your Neptune isn't poorly aspected, friends could be a source of deception or a bad influence. If your Neptune is afflicted, friends could become enemies or could take you down a destructive path. 12th: Neptune in the 12th house often means a strong sixth sense. Your empathy is well-developed, which could lead to working in hospitals, institutions, or spiritual places. If your Neptune is afflicted, you could become your own worst enemy, trapped in memories of the past and unwilling to deal with the practical things.

Episode 139. Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun - and it's an “ice giant” and the fourth-largest planetary mass in the solar system. It also has 27 moons and rings just like Saturn! In astrology, Uranus is the ruling planet of Aquarius and is associated with change, freedom, and individuality. Where Uranus is placed in your natal chart shows the areas of your life where you are original, non-conformist, and where you might experience sudden changes. It can also tell something about your intuitive gifts or unique work you're here to do as well as the groups or friends in your life. If afflicted, it can indicate where you're rebellious. 1st: Uranus in the first house indicates you're a true non-conformist. You don't care if you fit in. Instead, you want to express your individuality freely. You might be regarded as eccentric or unconventional - and you may dress in a way that gets people talking. If poorly aspected, you may be unpredictable or unstable. 2nd: Uranus in the second house means your financial situation may be changeable. One day you're earning a lot, the next day, it's gone. You can be impulsive with money and may get involved in crackpot schemes. However, you may also have unique talents for making money or could be interested in dedicating your resources to humanitarian causes. 3rd: Uranus in the third house blesses you with an intuitive mind. You think differently than everyone else - and maybe quite inventive. You're also objective, which makes you well suited for science, journalism, or media. You need a lot of mental stimulation because you're easily bored. If Uranus is afflicted, you may be prone to impracticality or flakiness. 4th: Uranus in the fourth indicates an unusual upbringing or home life. Your family may be unconventional or eccentric. There may be a lot of freedom in your home - or your household may be filled with all sorts of tech gear. Friends become members of the family. If afflicted, you may move a lot or have problems with your parents. 5th: Uranus in the fifth house indicates romance that seems to come into your life under unusual circumstances. It's possible you may meet someone out of the blue or through friends - but relationships could end as suddenly as they begin. This placement could also mean promiscuity. If you have children, they may be intellectually gifted or unusual in some way. If afflicted, you may seek pleasure through unhealthy means - or you may experience an unplanned pregnancy. 6th: Uranus in the sixth house could mean a career in science, computers, technology, or spiritual healing. You make friends at work easily and enjoy being in an environment where you are free to be yourself. You don't like supervision much and may choose to leave jobs where you feel monitored. If afflicted, you may experience periods of job instability. A poorly aspected Uranus can also indicate stress-related health issues. 7th: Uranus in the seventh house could mean a need for freedom in your relationships. You will not tolerate being housebound - you want to come and go as you please. Relationships may be begin under unusual circumstances and end suddenly. If afflicted, you'll need to be careful around lawsuits and public relations. One wrong move and you're sued…or canceled. 8th: Uranus in the eighth house indicates a strong connection to the other side. You may possess mediumship abilities or have unique insights into what makes people tick. Your finances could change suddenly through inheritances or joint finances such as marriage or a business partnership. If afflicted, there may be issues with taxes or alimony. Unwise speculation should be avoided as much as possible. 9th: Uranus in the ninth house could indicate an interest in unorthodox ideas around religion, philosophy, higher education or other cultures. You may travel widely and at the spur of the moment. If afflicted, you may be drawn to weird cults or radical political/social philosophies. A poorly aspected Uranus here could also mean fanaticism. 10th: Uranus in the 10th house brings a career in science, technology, robotics, mathematics, or astrology. You may also be involved in something unusual or perhaps have a reputation for being an eccentric or radical. Your status could change suddenly and if afflicted, you could experience a quick rise to the top followed by a shocking downfall. 11th: Uranus in the 11th is accidentally dignified and usually indicates a strong humanitarian aspect to your personality. You'll have friends from every walk of life and tend to accept people as they are. That being said, you're also a bit of a lone wolf. Although you run with different packs, you're not bound to any of them. You need freedom in your friendships. If afflicted, your friends may turn on you suddenly. You'll need to be cautious with who gets into your inner circle. 12th: Uranus in the 12th house often means you are curious about how the world works - and how you do too. You'll be interested in meditation, spiritual pursuits, and introspection. Your intuition is sharp and you may even be clairvoyant. If afflicted, you may lose your grip on reality. You need to remain grounded at all times, but especially if you're dabbling in mediumship.

Episode 136. Saturn is the “ringed planet.”  In astrology, it is associated with lessons and limitations. Where Saturn is placed in your natal chart shows the areas of your life where you may experience challenges and must shoulder responsibilities. If you lean into it, you can develop discipline and grow. 1st: Saturn in the first house indicates a disciplined, serious personality. You may appear aloof or unfriendly. You're hardworking, logical, and not afraid to take on heavy responsibilities. If afflicted, you may be selfish and materialistic - or overly concerned with your status. 2nd: Saturn in the second house means you'll work hard for the money and are ambitious to acquire wealth. You have shrewd business instincts and might be frugal with your resources. If afflicted, you might be overly preoccupied with material objects - or anxious about your money and unable to enjoy it. 3rd: Saturn in the third house creates mental discipline and a fine, practical mind. You might work in publishing or education. If you have this placement, you'll want to exercise caution with contracts. If afflicted, you may have difficult relationships with siblings - or you might be a Debbie Downer. 4th: Saturn in the fourth means you may be responsible for your family. For example, you may be a caretaker for your parents. This is a favorable placement for those who have home-based businesses or are involved in building or real estate. If afflicted, you may be the black sheep of your family - or may have trouble cutting ties with them. 5th: Saturn in the fifth house indicates challenges with parenting and romance. You might be too serious with children - or may have to take the lead in romantic relationships. This placement is good for artists, investors, or entertainers. If afflicted, romantic opportunities may be scarce or you may suffer creative blocks. An afflicted Saturn in the fifth could also indicate strained relationships with children. 6th: Saturn in the sixth house brings a great work ethic and a serious attitude toward health. You may be a health nut - or a workaholic. This is an excellent placement for careers in health care, science, or engineering. If afflicted, you might have trouble with employers. 7th: Saturn in the seventh house creates a serious attitude around relationships. You enter into every partnership with a desire to make it last. You have a keen sense of justice and would make an excellent lawyer. If afflicted, you might experience loss through relationships or lawsuits. 8th: Saturn in the eighth house indicates responsibilities with joint finances, inheritances, or taxes. For example, you may be in charge of an estate or could be the main breadwinner in your household. If afflicted, you might be denied an inheritance or could be subject to heavy taxation or loss through alimony. 9th: Saturn in the ninth house could mean a serious interest in academia, religion, or philosophy. You may choose a career in one of these fields or become an expert. It's also possible you may be interested in publishing or international law. If afflicted, you could become narrow-minded or a hypocrite. 10th: Saturn in the 10th house means your ambitions will lead to success and status. You could be a politician or public figure. In some way, you're born to lead. If afflicted, you could experience many obstacles on the way. If you abuse your power, your fall from grace will be swift and fierce. 11th: Saturn in the 11th could mean you take a serious approach to friendships. You might even take care of your friends in some way. If afflicted, your friends may use you - or vice versa. 12th: Saturn in the 12th house indicates you may spend time in seclusion. For example, you may choose to live in an ashram or work behind the scenes in a large institution such as a hospital. Where Jupiter is placed in your natal chart shows the areas of your life where you are fortunate and gifted. It’s where you can expand. If afflicted, Jupiter can bring foolish optimism or a lack of moderation. 1st: Jupiter in the first house indicates an optimistic, outgoing personality. You’re easy-going, generous to a fault, and confident. There is an element of spiritual protection around you as well - no matter how bad things get, you always find help, even it comes at the last possible moment. If afflicted, you could be prone to “big talking” or shooting your mouth off. 2nd: Jupiter in the second house means you’ve got business acumen and are lucky at attracting money. You may have financial support in your life, such as a well-to-do family. If afflicted, you could burn through money quickly or gamble it away foolishly. 3rd: Jupiter in the third house creates a positive, proactive mind. You love to learn and might be keenly interested in pursuing higher education. You enjoy travel and may take many journeys in your lifetime. If afflicted, you are reckless on your travels - or a bit of a Pollyanna. 4th: Jupiter in the fourth grants luck with home and family. Because this house is associated with the sign of Cancer, Jupiter is exalted here. You get plenty of support in childhood and might be a good parent yourself. You could be fortunate with real estate - or may live in a large, beautiful home. If afflicted, the family could be a financial burden or religious fanatics. 5th: Jupiter in the fifth house indicates many opportunities for love and pleasure. You may be fertile and blessed with a large family. You also have creative gifts or could be an inspiring teacher. If afflicted, you’ll need to be careful with speculation. You could lose large amounts of money through the stock market or gambling. 6th: Jupiter in the sixth house brings blessings through employment. You may be lucky in your career and always able to find a job. It also confers an interest in service - your career could be based around healing, charity, or medicine. If afflicted, it could indicate laziness or overindulgence. 7th: Jupiter in the seventh house creates harmonious relationships. You attract beneficial people into your orbit. Marriage or business partnerships usually bring good fortune. You’re fair in your dealings and may be an effective attorney. If afflicted, you may become codependent or be naive about certain relationships. 8th: Jupiter in the eighth house indicates inheritances and money through other people. For example, you could marry a wealthy person. Intuition is amplified and some people may be intrigued with life after death. If afflicted, there could be trouble through taxes or probate. 9th: Jupiter in the ninth house could mean lots of travel. You might see the world! Or perhaps you’ll have a deep appreciation for higher education or spirituality. You’re a seeker, always looking to connect to something greater than yourself. If afflicted, you could become a religious fanatic. 10th: Jupiter in the 10th house brings good fortune in the career. You can rise to a high place and may experience plenty of support along the way. Opportunities fall in your lap, and recognition is possible. Many famous people with blessed careers have this placement. If afflicted, you could be a braggart or a hypocrite. This could turn people against you fast. 11th: Jupiter in the 11th indicates an expanded social circle with people of influence. Friends will help you reach your goals or you may be involved in humanitarian groups.  If afflicted, your friends may take advantage of you or vice versa. 12th: Jupiter in the 12th house often means you’ve got protection around you. No matter what happens, there is hidden support. Time spent in retreat can be meaningful for you. You might also be drawn to spiritual studies or working behind the scenes in large institutions. If afflicted, you may be on a perpetual pity party, and feel as if the world is against you. Those are some mini thoughts about Mars in the natal chart houses. This is where you express your desires, passion, and leadership. If Mars is afflicted, it can indicate where conflict or anger shows up. 1st: Mars in the first house indicates an aggressive, outgoing, and courageous personality. If you’ve got Mars here, you want to be where the action is. You’re bold and not afraid to take risks. If Mars is afflicted, you may be headstrong and prone to temper tantrums. You’ll need to learn how to think before acting if you want to avoid drama. 2nd: Mars in the second house means you’re not afraid to hustle for your cash. You’ll work hard to achieve your financial goals and you may possess business acumen. You’re also competitive when it comes to money matters, which means you’ll do what you can to protect your own interests. If afflicted, you might be ruthless in your pursuit of material goods and not above using dishonest means. 3rd: Mars in the third house creates a fiery, passionate mind. You’re direct in your speech and can be aggressive when debating a point. Daily life is active as you’re not one to sit still for too long. When afflicted it produces a sarcastic, cruel tongue, and reckless driving. 4th: Mars in the fourth means you put a lot of energy into your home life. You may want to be the “boss” in the domestic sphere and could dominate family members. You’ll also want to improve your surroundings so may become handy around the home. If afflicted, you may have problems with your parents or other family members. 5th: Mars in the fifth house indicates you’ll be assertive in romantic matters. You’ve got a strong flirt game and will aggressively pursue the objects of your affection. You’ll probably possess a strong libido as well. If afflicted, Mars in the fifth could indicate sexual jealousy or unplanned pregnancy. 6th: Mars in the sixth house means you’ll be a hard worker and may bring a lot of energy to your working environment. You may be well suited for physical labor or a leadership role. You may not like to follow orders so you could be an entrepreneur too. If afflicted, you may experience burnout from too much work - or conflicts with coworkers. 7th: Mars in the seventh house indicates an aggressive role in relationships. You like to take control - and can get a lot done with partners if they don’t mind you taking the lead. This placement can also indicate an aggressive salesperson or PR agent - the kind who will push past boundaries to get what they want! If afflicted, it brings arguments with partners and acrimonious splits. 8th: Mars in the eighth house indicates a powerful intuition, strong desires, and sexual intensity. People with this placement are aggressive with other people’s money - which could be good or bad depending on the condition of Mars. For example, if afflicted it could mean criminal tendencies such as embezzlement. There could also be arguments over inheritances or taxes. 9th: Mars in the ninth house creates an adventurous spirit, one who wants to see the world and what it has to offer. If you have this placement, you’ll want to broaden your mind as much as possible through travel and education - but if afflicted, Mars in the 9th could produce a religious zealot or worse yet, a religious hypocrite who wants to force their fanatical views on others while not practicing what they’re preaching. 10th: Mars in the 10th house folks want to be recognized. They clamor for the limelight and will seek fame. If you’ve got this placement, you’ll be competitive, and willing to take initiative to get to the top. You could have political leanings and might make a fine politician. If afflicted, you’ll use whatever tactics you can to get ahead, even if they are unfair or ruthless. This could lead to a rapid climb followed by a downfall. 11th: Mars in the 11th mean you’ll put a lot of energy into friendships and group activities. You may be a leader in your community or involved in humanitarian causes. If afflicted, you’re a rebel without a cause or a rabble-rouser who wants to overthrow the status quo. Arguments with friends could find you alienated too. 12th: Mars in the 12th house indicates someone who prefers to operate in secret. Many actions are happening behind the scenes - and are perhaps influenced by the unconscious mind. This is a secretive Mars, which also means you could be a treacherous enemy because no one will see what you’re up to. By that same token, if afflicted, you may have plenty of secret enemies too. You can express your ideas in a bold, dramatic fashion. Because the 5th house is associated with speculation, it can also indicate an interest in the stock market. Parents or teachers who invest a lot of energy into children’s education may have this placement as well. On the low vibe, it can also mean you’re approach to romance is too analytical. The “no one is good enough” vibe can be an afflicted fifth house Mercury. 6th: Mercury in the sixth house means you need work to be mentally stimulating. You may go into a specialized line of work or might be interested in medicine, science, or technology careers. Disorder of any sort can affect your health. 7th: Mercury in the seventh house indicates communication is vital for your relationships. You need to have mental compatibility in order for harmony. This placement can be great for anyone who works in law or public relations. However, it can also indicate a preoccupation with what other people think. 8th: Mercury in the eighth house might mean you’re interested in researching the mysteries of life. You’re psychic and great at getting to the bottom of things. You may also possess mediumship abilities. It’s often thought that people with this placement are secretive - or like to plot revenge! 9th: Mercury in the ninth house creates a desire to broaden one’s horizons through higher education and travel. There may be an interest in philosophy, law, or religion. If you have this placement, travel is a balm for your soul and you may visit many countries in your lifetime. If negatively aspected, you could be an intellectual snob or religious hypocrite. 10th: Mercury in the 10th house can mean you pursue education to further your ambitions - or you’re in a career where you engage with the public in some way. For example, you may be a politician, speechwriter, journalist, or public speaker. You can communicate with the public well. If your Mercury is afflicted, your words could get you into trouble. 11th: Mercury in the 11th indicates an interest in mentally stimulating friendships and associations. You may have many friends that you like to keep in contact with or a broad network of associates that help support your goals. You might also be involved in humanitarian work. 12th: Mercury in the 12th house indicates a mind that needs quiet from time to time. Periods of solitude benefit you greatly. You might be secretive with your thoughts - or you may be hesitant to say what you mean. In some cases, Mercury in the 12th could indicate psychic ability or neurotic tendencies based on past experiences. Those are some quick thoughts about the Moon in the natal chart houses. Episode 126. The Moon symbolizes your emotions, needs, and how we respond to others and the world around us. There are twelve houses in the natal chart. You can go back to older episodes to learn about the attributes of each house. Where the Moon sits in your natal chart shows where you get emotional. Because the Moon is changeable, this can also indicate where conditions in your life may fluctuate too. 1st: The Moon in the first house indicates a personality that expresses feelings outwardly. Your heart is right on your sleeve. Sometimes, you may be too reactionary. 2nd: The Moon in the second house means money is important to you. It comes and goes, which can create anxiety. When you have enough cash in the bank, you tend to be more chill. 3rd: The Moon in the third house indicates emotions tend to color your thoughts. You’ve got a great imagination and might be intuitive. At times, you need to work hard to keep your feet planted on the ground. 4th: The Moon in the fourth is at home since this is the natural placement for la luna. Home is where your heart is and you’re probably close to your family. You might have a comfy home too. You’ll need to guard against holding on to the past. If you can’t let go of the old, you can’t be present. 5th: The Moon in the fifth house makes you a hopeless romantic. You want true love, and nothing less will do. You’re probably fertile, could have many children, and would make an excellent parent. But watch out that your pursuit for pleasure doesn’t cause you to leave a trail of broken hearts behind you. 6th: The Moon in the sixth house means work needs to be emotionally satisfying. You may choose a career as a caregiver or in the food industry. Drama at work can affect your well-being and could sometimes be a catalyst for many job changes. 7th: The Moon in the seventh house places emotional emphasis on relationships. You crave security through a long-term partnership. You’re highly empathic but can also become codependent. 8th: The Moon in the eighth house heightens intuition. You can feel things - and people out with ease. You also have good instincts for handling money. However, boundaries can be weak or you may struggle to find emotional intimacy. Hot and cold? Yep. 9th: The Moon in the ninth house creates a desire to see the world or feed your head. You love to learn about other cultures and may have a strong moral compass. But this placement of the Moon could also indicate restlessness or religious hypocrisy. 10th: The Moon in the 10th house means the public loves you and you love them. You want recognition and you probably get it. The negative side of this placement could be someone who does whatever they think will get the most applause. 11th: The Moon in the 11th brings close emotional relationships with friends. Friends often become members of the family - or you may have a chosen family of buddies that replaces an unhappy birth family. The Moon in the 11th can also make you susceptible to peer pressure. 12th: The Moon in the 12th house indicates a deep, emotional need for solitude. Too much time spent with others drains your batteries. Frequent sabbaticals or therapy helps you to restore your sense of emotional balance. You’ll need to be careful that your past experiences do not color the present moment. Let go of those old stories! Those are some quick thoughts about the Moon in the natal chart houses. Episode 125. Today we’re starting to look at the planets in the houses on the natal chart. I’ll give brief descriptions of possible interpretations for each planet in upcoming episodes. Once we’ve gone through every planet through the natal chart, we’ll start looking at planetary transits through the houses. We’ll begin this part of the series by talking about the Sun Through the Houses in the Natal Chart. When you read the horoscopes in a magazine, they are focused on the Sun sign. The Sun represents your basic personality. This is your ego and your vital life force. It’s “you”  at your core. There are twelve houses in the natal chart. You can go back to older episodes to learn about the attributes of each house. Where the Sun lands in your natal chart shows where you can shine brightly. This is where your power lies and where you can express yourself fully. 1st: The Sun in the first house indicates a warm, magnetic personality. You can be a leader. People are drawn to you. However, you’ll need to keep your ego in check. 2nd: The Sun in the second house can mean you’ve got mad skills at making money. Or great ambition for cash. Material success drives you but you must be careful not to put things above people. 3rd: The Sun in the third house indicates intellectual strength. You love expressing your ideas and you’re proud of them too. Relationships with siblings and neighbors tend to be positive. 4th: The Sun in the fourth house puts the emphasis on family and home. You can express yourself powerfully. You love being on stage and could be a fine performing artist. Your heart is huge, and you could be a wonderful parent. When you fall in love, it's with all your heart. You just gotta remember to leave room in the limelight for other people to shine. 6th: The Sun in the sixth house means you take great pride in your work. You also enjoy being of service in some way. Meaningful work is important to you but you must be careful that you don’t make work a god. 7th: The Sun in the seventh house puts an emphasis on relationships. You attract a lot of people in your life and some of these relationships will be powerful. Even when in a relationship, you maintain your own identity. Compromise could be challenging. 8th: The Sun in the eighth house produces a deep, sexy, and intense personality. You’re smoldering! Intimacy is your thing. This placement can indicate psychic abilities and the ability to get to the bottom of things. There is also an ability to handle other people’s money. When wronged, this Sun placement could turn vengeful. 9th: The Sun in the ninth house indicates a desire to broaden your horizons through education, travel, and spirituality. You may be a globetrotter, religious scholar, or a perpetual student. Writers and publishers often have this placement. When negatively aspected, it can produce a fanatic. 10th: The Sun in the 10th house can bring fame. You want to be recognized for your contributions to the world and most likely you will. This is the placement for world leaders and politicians - or anyone that loves to be in the spotlight. The public loves you. However, if the ego gets in the way, you easily move into dictator mode. 11th: The Sun in the 11th house brings a wide circle of acquaintances. Friendship is important to you and you may popular. Tolerance and compassion make you a do-gooder. You just need to be mindful that you don’t pick up any bad influences along the way. 12th: The Sun in the 12th house shows a quiet, retiring nature. You don’t need the spotlight - you need your space. Time alone and introspection are important. You’re an excellent researcher and caregiver, so you may be attracted to the medical field. Too much lone wolf vibes could make you lonely at times. Get out of the house! Those are some mini thoughts about the Sun in the natal chart houses.
