Dr. Kari Johnstone joins Dr. Sandie Morgan as they discuss how traffickers adapt fast, moving money, victims, and exploitation through digital systems most of us interact with every day, examining whether our institutions are adapting fast enough to protect victims without them risking everything to testify.Dr. Kari JohnstoneDr. Kari Johnstone is the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, representing the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe at the political level on human trafficking issues and coordinating anti-trafficking efforts across the OSCE region. Before joining the OSCE, Dr. Johnstone spent nearly a decade (2014-2023) as Senior Official, Acting Director, and Principal Deputy Director of the U.S. Department of State's Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (J/TIP), where she advised senior leadership on global trafficking policy and programming and oversaw the annual Trafficking in Persons Report. Her extensive U.S. government service also includes senior roles in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. Dr. Johnstone holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.Key PointsThe OSCE survey revealed a 17-fold increase in forced criminality cases over five years across the 57 member states, making it the fastest growing form of human trafficking globally.Forced scamming, which originated in Southeast Asia, is now being exported to other regions as criminals adopt this lucrative business model that exploits victims with brutal tactics to defraud others.Technology and artificial intelligence present both challenges and opportunities in combating trafficking, allowing law enforcement to process data more quickly to find victims and perpetrators while also being misused by traffickers for recruitment and exploitation.Financial intelligence and following the money can supplement or even replace victim testimony in prosecutions, reducing the burden on survivors and providing effective pathways to convict traffickers. The non-punishment principle remains woefully inadequate in practice worldwide, with victims often arrested, prosecuted, and convicted for crimes directly related to their trafficking experience, creating lifelong consequences that prevent access to housing, employment, and stability. The United States leads globally on criminal record relief for trafficking survivors, with 48-49 states having vacature or expungement laws and new federal legislation (Trafficking Survivor Relief Act) awaiting presidential signature, though much work remains worldwide.Victim assistance must be unlinked from the criminal justice process, allowing survivors to receive care and services first before deciding whether to cooperate with law enforcement, which actually increases the likelihood they will come forward and participate. The demographics of trafficking victims are shifting beyond stereotypes, with forced scamming targeting educated individuals with IT and language skills, while forced criminality increasingly exploits younger children, including those under age 10, for drug-related crimes and violence.ResourcesOrganization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)OSCE Office of the Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human BeingsProtocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons (UN Palermo Protocol)UN Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in PersonsU.S. State Department Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in PersonsTrafficking in Persons ReportTrafficking Survivors Relief ActEnding Human Trafficking PodcastTranscriptTranscript will be here when available.

It's Time That We Call Ghislaine Maxwell What She is: A Human Trafficker

Beyond The Horizon

For years, major outlets framed Ghislaine Maxwell with euphemisms like “British socialite” or “heiress,” softening the reality of what she actually did. This language wasn't neutral—it was protective, creating a veneer of glamour and legitimacy around a woman who was actively grooming, recruiting, and enabling the sexual abuse of minors for Jeffrey Epstein. Survivors have long argued that this framing distorted the public's understanding of the crimes and allowed Maxwell to maintain an image of sophistication instead of infamy. Calling her a “socialite” isn't just inaccurate; it's complicit in minimizing the suffering of her victims. It's long past time to strip away that veneer and call Maxwell exactly what she is: a human trafficker. She was convicted in a court of law for sex trafficking and conspiracy to entice minors—crimes that destroyed countless lives. Continuing to use titles like “socialite” or “heiress” plays into the same elite-friendly narrative that let Epstein operate for decades. Words matter. Framing matters. And in this case, the only framing that honors the truth and the victims is the one that calls her by her real identity: a convicted human trafficker, not a jet-setting socialite.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

In this podcast, Jeff discusses the arrest of Venezuelan President Maduro; not just the legalities of the arrest but why this arrest means so much more than capturing a narcotrafficker: Iran, its terror leadership already teetering, stands to lose its Latin American base and financial support. Additionally, those against the arrest are the usual Israel-hating suspects: the far left, Muslim terror states and now, a new addition: the woke right which has decided that partnering with the far left makes sense only when it comes to one issue: mutual Jew hate. The consequences of this obsession cannot be more stark as noted by the recent fraud headlines coming out of Minnesota.

It was a surreal question that now feels more pressing.A US Carrier Strike Group is moving into South American waters to support America's highly kinetic War on Drugs. Military lawyers might have advised the Trump administration that extra-judiciously executing alleged criminals in international waters is, in fact, illegal. But Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is no fan of military lawyers and fired the Judge Advocate General (JAG) of both the Army and the Air Force. Welcome to Witness Wednesday. Today's witness is from the KLOVE.com website. I love their radio station. Their Music and their DJs are the best. I have been hearing them mention for a while now that they have a tab on their website that is titled God Stories. I thought I would bring you one of these stories today. It is about a woman who started an organization called HER campaign. Here is what I found about this organization on their website.HER Campaign began with a simple but profound mission: to help survivors of human trafficking heal, grow, and find purpose. Since our founding in 2016, we have walked alongside survivors and their families, offering a continuum of care that includes crisis intervention, emergency stabilization, and transitional living programs. Our roots are in Billings, Montana, where we started with a single safe house. Over the years, we've expanded to include emergency stabilization programs and advocacy efforts. We believe every survivor has inherent worth, and we are committed to serving them with dignity, respect, and love.Today, I am sharing with you part of a podcast episode she did. CLICK HERE for the link to the website. You can also just go to KLOVE.com and click on God stories. Here is her story.Britney Higgs is one determined woman and a determined follower of Jesus Christ. On foot, she traveled nearly 600 miles from Billings, Montana, to Denver to raise awareness and support for the fight against human trafficking - and the important need to care for those who have been trafficked.“Walking that route was significant on many levels. That interstate corridor is a well-known trafficking route. Traffickers exploit highways and transportation systems for control, from recruitment to moving victims across state lines, especially in areas like Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado, where remote roads and interstate access offer anonymity and opportunity for those who traffic people in darkness. And so, this walk for me wasn't just between two cities. It was to take back ground and prayerfully asking that the Lord would stop the trafficking that is happening between these two areas.” Britney rates the severity of human trafficking in the U.S. as an eight-out-of-ten  “It's more widespread than most people realize. It happens in cities, suburbs, and rural areas. But the encouraging part is that God is raising up his church every day, believers to answer this issue in their own communities.” She explains the route she walked and prayed over “is between our two HER Campaign locations, two sanctuaries of healing connected by a road that sadly sees human lives treated like commodities. So, we just made sure that we were walking and partnering with the Lord to say, ‘this will not happen here anymore!'”  Britney is deeply involved in the ‘take back' process as founder of the HER Campaign, which has created two safe homes, one in Billings, the other in Denver, with plans for another location in the Nashville area. The non-profit provides a critical gap service: emergency stabilization programs that offer survivors immediate safety, medical care, counseling, and holistic support.“The first thing a survivor experiences in one of our safe homes is safety. Imagine a woman stepping into a home where, for the first time in a long time, she has a community that is working towards her safety in the mind, body, and spirit to where she can truly rest for the first time… in usually years. We meet her immediate needs. We provide food, clothing, and medical care, and then we surround her with counseling, case management, full body health practices, and prayer. We are at the cutting edge of a program that looks at survivors comprehensively, providing those medical, clinical, and spiritual aspects to really come alongside her and help her to heal, grow, and find purpose.” "HER Campaign is my ‘yes' to him [God] that is creating safe places for women to experience his healing love," Britney explained the origins and core mission of her organization as a response to a personal call from God.HER Campaign Mission: Bridging the gap between rescue and freedom"We do hear that there is an estimated 300,000 children who are trafficked every year in the United States, and that is not even hitting the adults who are being trafficked. So, we know that this is a huge issue, but that is one that we are called to come alongside right now."She highlighted a severe lack of resources in communities, noting there were only about 2,600 beds available nationwide specifically for trafficking survivors.Combating human trafficking requires collective action and awareness from the entire community, particularly the church, explains Britney. At HER Campaign's safe homes, there are numerous success stories. “One mom came to us broken, having been trafficked since she was a teenager. She went through her emergency stabilization program and a drug recovery program, and today she's reunited with her children and has stepped into a job she loves. Another woman stabilized in our emergency shelter down in Denver, Colorado, and then she entered into a long-term program and is thriving as she works on healing. Through that continuum of care, we have seen so many women graduate from our programs who get married, have children, and build careers they are passionate about. These stories remind us that these women are made in the image of God and that nothing is wasted and he is seeking after each and every one of them to remind them of who they truly are and to help them walk into the destiny that he set before them before the beginning of time.”“I am a firm believer that God speaks to us today, whether that is through his word or the way that he speaks to us personally. And since the moment that we started on our own healing journey, God has shown up in the most miraculous ways to help us keep us on this path. And it is in the moments of turmoil when we ask the Lord and we start to doubt God, ‘Did you really ask me to do this?' I can go back to those pillars of knowing that he spoke in that moment. And it was undeniable. We have seen God provide dollar for dollar what we needed exactly when we needed it. Miraculously, we've had people show up at our doors with checks who have never met us before, but knew that because God told them we needed provision for something. We've had divine appointments with just the right person at just the right moment, and at the very beginning of the HER Campaign, we were walking out in the hills in eastern Montana with our kiddos and out of nowhere I felt like I had this lightning strike in my heart and I got this vision of what a safe house would look like and I just knew that we needed to start it!”(Richard asks) Going back to the very long walk, the 580 miles, I understand your husband was with you for protection with the RV, but you also had a 'friend' named Freedom?(Britney) "Yes. Freedom is a miniature Nigerian goat. And when we were sitting down talking about this walk and how to really raise up a nationwide movement to get people's attention, somebody jokingly shot out, 'Hey Brit, I think you should carry a baby goat.' And we've had goats at our residential programs before. I absolutely love goats. We've raised them. And so what became a joke actually became reality or what was a joke became reality. And so yes, I had freedom walk with me. We took major precautions to make sure that she only walked what her little legs could handle during the day, but we trained her to follow me. And I can tell you that she is thriving, she's doing great. Now that the walk is over, she is just grazing and living her best life at her property in Denver.”Thank you so much to Britney and her organization for doing such important work and for making such a difference in so many people's lives. Thank you for being a light when all they have seen is darkness. Thank you to KLOVE for sharing this and other God stories with the world. And in this case, the only framing that honors the truth and the victims is the one that calls her by her real identity: a convicted human trafficker, not a jet-setting socialite.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Dr. Beth Lorance joins Dr. Sandie Morgan as they discover how a high school coach gave one of his players expensive gifts, things her mother had refused to buy, with the mom posting online asking what to do, not realizing she was witnessing grooming behavior that creates the same vulnerabilities traffickers exploit in trusted spaces throughout our communities. Dr. Beth Lorance Dr. Beth Lorance is an adjunct professor at Vanguard University, where she teaches Family Violence and has also taught Introduction to Psychology and Psychology of the Family. She earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology and previously served as the director of Vanguard's counseling center. In addition to her academic background, Beth is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God, which allows her to bring both psychological expertise and theological insight into conversations about abuse, trauma, and healing. Her passion is deeply personal, rooted in her own family history of child sexual abuse, and she is committed to equipping others to use their voices to prevent abuse, protect the vulnerable, and walk alongside survivors. Beth also works to bring awareness into the church, encouraging faith communities to reflect Jesus' response to victims and to take seriously the call to protect those who are most vulnerable. Key Points Family violence creates deep vulnerabilities by teaching children harmful lessons that love is transactional, they're not enough, and there's something wrong with them that they can't overcome - wounds that become embedded in their brain chemistry when trauma happens at a young age. Traffickers don't create vulnerabilities but rather exploit existing wounds from family abuse, stepping into unmet needs and exploiting lessons already learned about intimacy being tied to exploitation. Statistics reveal that 90% of abusers are known to their victims with only 10% being strangers, and 31% of traffickers are actually family members of the victim, making "stranger danger" education insufficient. Grooming is a process of control and manipulation that builds trust, chips away boundaries, and creates dependency so victims willingly comply when lines are crossed into inappropriate behavior because they've been normalized to the perpetrator's actions. Training is essential for leaders, staff, pastors, volunteers, and teachers to recognize grooming signs like expensive gift-giving, requests for secrecy, and isolating language such as "your parents don't understand you, but I do." Clear boundaries and policies are crucial, including no one-on-one supervision between adults and children, with swift consequences when policies aren't followed to prevent grooming opportunities. Children need to be empowered to say no even to trusted adults, with parents and leaders respecting their boundaries and teaching them about "tricky people" rather than just strangers. Trauma-informed communities must stop asking "what's wrong with you?" and instead listen without judgment, sitting with broken people without requiring them to change or behave in prescribed ways to receive care. Parents should be vigilant about adults in their children's lives, knowing what interactions look like and requiring that any adult who wants to be friends with their child must be friends with the parent first. Breaking the cycle requires communities that believe victims, provide someone to stand up for those who can't yet stand up for themselves, and create new family structures when biological families fail to protect. Earlier this month, Gregory Tomchyshyn, the Canadian campaign director for Citizen Go, dropped off a petition to Mayor Chow calling for her government to end its lavish spending of taxpayer dollars on the promotion of sexual perversion, including the “Toronto Pride” parade. For years now, LifeSiteNews has documented the event's crude floats, public nudity, and public displays of sexual exhibitionism. The petition said, “Mayor Olivia Chow and Toronto City Council just handed $350,000 in taxpayer money to Pride Toronto, despite the event's history of public nudity and indecent displays in full view of families and children.” According to Canadian Broadasting Corporation News, “Pride Toronto” will see its taxpayer funding hiked by 26 percent since fewer corporations want to promote sexual immorality. Venezuelan Evangelical Christians march for Jesus Thousands of Evangelical Christians mobilized across Venezuela during the March for Jesus, reports The Christian Post.  The event featured preaching, public worship, biblical reflection, and prayers for Venezuela. According to the Latin Evangelical Alliance, this year's theme was: “Jesus, the nations belong to You.” Social media was filled with images of the march, which was held not only in cities but also in rural towns. Pastor José Piñero, executive director of the Evangelical Council of Venezuela, addressed the crowd in Cumaná with a message in Spanish focused on grace.  I'll translate this 9-sentence clip in a moment. (Piñero speaks in Spanish) Pastor  Piñero said, “We are here because this land cries out for hope. And that hope has a name. And His name is Jesus Christ! (cheers) “Today, we march with purpose, with conviction, with firm love.  We don't march for ideologies. We don't march for human agendas. We don't march for political agendas. We don't march for sectarian agendas.  We come with the eternal Word of God, the Bible.” Proverbs 30:5 says, “Every W ord of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” Seventeen percent of Venezuela's population is comprised of Protestants and 71% is Catholic. Trump-Putin meeting in Anchorage today about ending Russo-Ukrainian War Anchorage, Alaska Mayor Suzanne LaFrance, an Independent, has announced that the city is “prepared and ready” for President Donald Trump's high-stakes meeting today with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the Russo-Ukrainian War. The meeting is set to be held at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Trump seeks to extend federal D.C. takeover as ‘sanctuary city' policies put on ice In an effort to eradicate violent crime in our nation's capital, President Donald Trump is preparing to ask Congress to extend the 30-day limit on his federal takeover of Washington, D.C. When asked by a reporter Thursday if he intends to seek congressional approval to prolong his federalization of D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department, the president said this in reply. TRUMP: “Well, if it's a national emergency, we can do it without Congress, but we expect to be before Congress very quickly. We think the Democrats will not do anything to stop crime, but we think the Republicans will do it almost unanimously.” The president began moving federal law enforcement agents into D.C. late last week, following the vicious beating of a Department of Government Efficiency staffer, 19-year-old Edward Cristine, who intervened in a carjacking to protect the female victim. On August 11th, President Trump officially took federal control of the D.C. police department and quickly mobilized the D.C. National Guard. Between August 7 and the morning of August 13, the federal crackdown yielded 103 arrests on charges ranging from suspected homicide and narcotics to firearm offenses and even illegal immigration. Woman sues Marine who allegedly poisoned her drink with 10 abortion pills And finally, Liana Davis, a Texas woman, has become the latest victim of a disturbing case of the abortion kill pill being used against her, and she's taking her pain to court, reports The Washington Stand. Her lawsuit alleges that Christopher Cooprider, a 34-year-old U.S. Marine, impregnated her and repeatedly pressured her to “get rid” of the baby, despite her firm refusals. According to the federal lawsuit, Davis has accused Cooprider of dissolving at least 10 misoprostol pills into her drink, without her knowledge, at her Corpus Christi home while she was eight weeks pregnant with his child. It only took 30 minutes after drinking the spiked beverage for Davis to start “hemorrhaging and cramping.” She asked for his help, but Cooprider fled the scene and was unreachable.  In a text at 12:30a.m., she wrote, “I am gushing blood. Please hurry.” But he never responded.  Tragically, their baby died. The first half of Proverbs 28:13 describes Christopher Cooprider well. “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” The wrongful death lawsuit seeks unspecified damages from Cooprider and Aid Access, the company which sold the abortion kill pill to the randy Marine. According to NBC News, “The Corpus Christi Police Department said there are no active investigations involving Cooprider.”  The Marine declined to comment as well. According to a new study from the Journal of the American Medical Association, Aid Access shipped 118,000 chemical abortion pill packs into the U.S. between July 2023 and September 2024. On X, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins wrote, “The Trump administration must take action now. 1 in 10 women suffer severe complications from the abortion pill. Traffickers and others use easy drug access to control women and kill unborn children. State laws are being trampled.” If you or a loved one has ingested the Abortion Kill Pill with regret, the baby can be saved during the first couple of days  through a special progesterone protocol.  Visit AbortionPillReversal.com. “A quarter to a half of the exploitation that's happening to our own nation's youth ... it's a caregiver doing it—it's a familial figure,” Jaco Booyens says.He is the founder of Jaco Booyens Ministries (JBM), an anti-human trafficking organization working to protect American children from predatory exploitation.“We're talking about a $52 billion industry of buying and selling predominantly women and children inside this country—American citizens. The discussion about an immigrant child or an immigrant in the country is a completely separate conversation,” he says.Booyens says laws against human trafficking are not being sufficiently enforced. Why are cases continuing to increase, while prosecutions decrease? And how is pornography a “gateway drug” into the trafficking industry?Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.
