402-521-3080In this conversation, Stephanie Olson and Rebecca Saunders delve into the myths surrounding human trafficking, discussing common misconceptions, the realities of traffickers and their victims, and the importance of community awareness and education. They emphasize the need to understand the complexities of trafficking, including the vulnerabilities that make individuals susceptible to exploitation, the dehumanization involved, and the challenges faced during recovery. The discussion also touches on the role of media and immigration in shaping perceptions of trafficking, advocating for a more informed and compassionate approach to prevention and support.TakeawaysHuman traffickers often target individuals they know.Trafficking is not just about kidnapping; it involves manipulation and grooming.Vulnerabilities can make anyone a target for trafficking.Dehumanization is a key factor in trafficking and exploitation.Rescue is not a simple solution; recovery is complex and ongoing.Traffickers can be male or female, and often work in couples.Media representations of trafficking can perpetuate myths.Community education is crucial for prevention and awareness.Trafficking can affect individuals of all ages and backgrounds.Everyone has intrinsic value, regardless of their circumstances.Sound Bites"Human traffickers will target people.""Traffickers go after the vulnerable.""The reality is that trauma is ongoing."Chapters00:00 Introduction to Human Trafficking Myths02:58 Debunking Common Myths05:41 Understanding the Grooming Process08:41 The Reality of Trafficking Targets11:41 The Role of Traffickers14:23 The Intrinsic Value of All Humans17:23 The Complexity of Trafficking Dynamics26:23 The Role of Children in Trafficking27:10 Immigration and Human Trafficking28:18 The Misconception of Border Control30:17 Vulnerabilities of Immigrants32:05 The Human Aspect of Trafficking34:26 Dehumanization in Society35:59 The Complexity of Rescue38:12 Understanding Trauma in Survivors39:59 The Reality of Recovery42:12 Emotional Isolation and Trust Issues44:23 Vulnerabilities and Scams47:24 Protecting Ourselves and Our Communities49:47 Education and Community EngagementSupport the showEveryone has resilience, but what does that mean, and how do we use it in life and leadership? A childhood of abuse led to a life on a volatile path, and soon Pastor Larry Huch found himself surrounded by drugs and worse. Diving headfirst into a life of crime, he went from using drugs, to selling them, to smuggling them. Yet, as his life spun more and more out of control, he had no idea he was on a collision course with the truth of The Gospel. A seemingly chance encounter transformed his life. In his powerful new book, “From Junkie to Jerusalem,” he's sharing how others can experience that same life-changing power that took him from a life of crime to being a bold pastor and one of the world's foremost supporters of Israel. From dangerous food dyes linked to neurological damage and soaring autism rates, to cartel assassins crossing the Canadian border, and credible assassination plots against Trump—this explosive series of revelations exposes the deep-rooted threats hiding in plain sight. As RFK Jr. and Dr. Marty Makary push to purge toxic additives from our food and Trump takes bold action to shut down trafficking routes and foreign plots, the media downplays it all. Why? Because the truth is inconvenient—and the stakes are higher than you think.

Today Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar are talking about human trafficking, a deeply troubling issue that must be recognized for its severity. More people are enslaved today than during the transatlantic slave trade, with an estimated 21 million victims being trafficked for exploitation. Traffickers profit from this exploitation, and it happens globally, every day. Addressing suffering is not enough; those responsible for the suffering must also be called out. The church has a responsibility to respond to oppression, but some Christians hesitate due to political divides.Trafficking has existed for centuries, as seen even in the Old Testament. Christianity has often fallen into extremes—either prioritizing justice at the cost of faith or neglecting justice. However, God values biblical justice, and Christians are called to be salt and light. The church should actively educate its members about trafficking. Pastors can spotlight organizations, events, and significant dates like Super Bowl Sunday, when trafficking spikes. Churches have powerful media platforms to share information, as social media plays a major role in trafficking. Many victims are groomed online, manipulated, and blackmailed. Raising awareness, praying, and encouraging open conversations with family and church leaders are essential. Indifference is the enemy of justice. Christians should take action, from something as extreme as covering inappropriate billboards to advocating for policy changes. The culture that enables trafficking must be confronted, including the over-sexualization of women. Men must be raised to be protectors. Feminism, in some forms, discourages men from stepping up, furthering the problem. Teaching boys respect and responsibility from a young age, like opening doors for their mothers, fosters protective instincts.Justice requires more than charity—it demands active participation in relief, restoration, and reform. The gospel must be central, combining good works with spiritual teaching. The church should support organizations fighting trafficking, recognizing that love and giving go hand in hand. While financial giving is valuable, time and encouragement are equally crucial for those working in anti-trafficking ministries. Prayer is a powerful tool in this fight. Christians are called to pray without ceasing. Generosity should reflect gratitude for the grace received from Christ, the ultimate Good Samaritan who lifts the broken. The question is not just about giving money, but also whether we are willing to give our time to help.Send us a textThanks for listening! The peregrine falcon, one of Scotland's protected species, is facing a growing threat. Smuggled to the Middle East for falcon racing, these birds can fetch a high price on the black market. As demand grows, conservationists are fighting to protect them from an increasingly sophisticated illegal trade, while police are tracking down the criminals. Our France 2 colleagues report, with FRANCE 24's Guillaume Gougeon.
Human trafficking is a global crisis that exploits millions of people, including men, women, and children, for forced labor, sexual exploitation, and other forms of modern slavery. Victims are often lured through deception, coercion, or outright abduction, finding themselves trapped in inhumane conditions with little chance of escape. Traffickers operate across borders and use sophisticated networks to evade law enforcement, making it one of the most difficult crimes to combat. The issue is driven by factors such as poverty, lack of education, corruption, and weak legal systems, allowing traffickers to exploit vulnerable individuals while generating billions of dollars annually in illegal profits.Ending human trafficking requires a coordinated global effort involving governments, law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), businesses, and everyday citizens. Stronger laws and stricter enforcement are crucial, but so is raising public awareness and providing resources for victims to escape and rebuild their lives. International cooperation is essential to dismantle trafficking networks, prosecute offenders, and protect those at risk. Additionally, businesses must ensure ethical labor practices in their supply chains, while technology can be leveraged to track and expose traffickers. Only through a united, multi-faceted approach can human trafficking be effectively eradicated, ensuring justice for victims and preventing future exploitation.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comSource:https://elkodaily.com/opinion/columnists/it-takes-a-village-to-end-human-trafficking/article_99cee7e2-82b9-5ce6-a27a-3e51210737ea.htmlBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

David Tyree joins Dr. Sandie Morgan as the two discuss how financial crime investigations can disrupt human trafficking by following the money trail and identifying the financial networks that support trafficking operations. David Tyree David Tyree has over 25 years of experience as a DEA Agent and financial crime investigator. He has led major investigations into money laundering and drug trafficking and is a recognized expert in financial crime investigations. He trains law enforcement officers on detecting money laundering and asset forfeiture. Recently, he participated in the Follow the Money Roundtable with Valid8 at Vanguard University. Key Points Financial investigations provide a new way to combat human trafficking by identifying and disrupting illicit financial networks. Traffickers exploit financial tools like Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle to move money, making it critical for law enforcement to track these transactions. Financial crime investigations allow law enforcement to build strong cases that do not rely solely on victim testimony, reducing re-traumatization. Traffickers often control victims financially, making it difficult for them to escape without outside intervention. Asset forfeiture is a powerful tool that law enforcement can use to take away traffickers' financial resources and prevent them from reconstituting their operations. Banks and financial institutions play a crucial role in identifying suspicious activity, such as rapid money transfers, and working with law enforcement to stop trafficking networks. Understanding financial literacy is key to preventing individuals from becoming vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation. Law enforcement needs to build trust with victims by offering support rather than immediately pressuring them to testify. Successful investigations require collaboration between financial institutions, law enforcement, and victim service organizations. The ability to follow the money provides a tangible way to prosecute traffickers and provide financial restitution to victims. Financial restitution is often the most meaningful form of justice for survivors, as it helps them rebuild their lives. Educating financial institutions and law enforcement about trafficking-related financial patterns can significantly improve prevention and intervention efforts. When Adnan Khashoggi, Saudi arms dealer and self-styled world's richest man, met with US officials to discuss the Ayatollah, it may have seemed like a chance to cash in corporate power for political clout. But the affair — and an ill-advised friendship with the kleptocratic leaders of the Philippines — would send Khashoggi's businesses into a tailspin, and land him jail. What came next was one of the most spectacular court cases of the era. And it finally shined a spotlight on the life and legends of a man whose lavish lifestyle was the envy of world leaders, and an up-and-coming Donald Trump. Learn more about your ad choices. Alia Azariah joins Dr. Sandie Morgan to discuss her journey from being an online victim of trafficking to becoming an advocate for youth and aftercare. Alia Azariah Alia Azariah is a passionate advocate and survivor dedicated to ending human trafficking and empowering those affected by this grave violation of human rights. Her focus lies in creating safe and sustainable communities through education and advocacy, service provision, and social justice. With a combination of professional knowledge, personal experience, and compassion, she works diligently at both local and national levels to create lasting change in the lives of trafficking survivors through specialized training and safe housing initiatives. Key Points Alia shares her personal experience of being groomed and trafficked through social media, emphasizing how vulnerabilities prior to being online contributed to her exploitation. She describes how traffickers use psychological tactics, such as fulfilling unmet emotional needs, to build trust and manipulate victims. The lack of awareness about the dangers of social media during the early days of platforms like MySpace contributed to the ease of exploitation. Alia explains how Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs helps in understanding vulnerability beyond just economic hardship, showing how traffickers exploit various unmet needs. Traffickers deliberately create or exploit a sense of dependence, offering victims what seems like support or love to gain control. She discusses the importance of community and long-term support in a survivor's healing journey, highlighting that recovery requires more than just therapy or shelter. Alia emphasizes the need for survivor inclusion in leadership roles, pushing for organizations to provide survivors with professional development opportunities rather than limiting them to direct care roles. She challenges organizations to evaluate their approach to survivor leadership, advocating for hiring based on character and potential rather than just experience. The conversation highlights the gaps in services for minors exiting trafficking, emphasizing the critical need for effective emergency stabilization solutions in the first six months post-exploitation. Alia advocates for policy changes at local, state, and national levels to improve services for trafficking survivors, particularly minors. As a mother, she applies her knowledge by implementing strict social media guidelines for her children and having ongoing discussions about online safety. She will be participating in the Insure Justice conference, where discussions on improving survivor resources and policy will continue. From surviving familial sex trafficking to losing her police captain father to suicide as a teenager, Tammy’s journey is a testament to resilience and the power of faith. She shared in a recent podcast interview on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available on their website and platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. The Unseen Face of Human Trafficking Human trafficking often evokes images of strangers or shadowy figures, but Tammy’s story sheds light on a darker, less-discussed reality: familial trafficking. Victims of familial trafficking are often preyed upon by people they trust the most. According to studies by the International Organization of Migration and the Polaris Project, family members are responsible for facilitating trafficking in a significant number of cases. Sex And Human Trafficker You Would Not Suspect. Her Police Father's Death by Suicide. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium, Newsbreak and Blogspot. Tammy’s experience reflects the complexities of familial trafficking, where abuse is normalized and hidden behind closed doors. “It’s not always a stranger,” she says. “Sometimes, the trafficker is someone you’d never suspect.” Listen to the interview as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast website, also available on platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast outlets. Trafficking survivors often grapple with long-term trauma, and Tammy was no exception. Coupled with the devastating loss of her father, a Vietnam combat veteran and police captain who died by suicide, her teenage years were marked by pain and uncertainty. Recovering from Trauma and Finding Purpose In adulthood, Tammy confronted her past, transforming her pain into purpose. As a forensic nurse examiner and advocate, she worked tirelessly to support other survivors, offering trauma-informed care and sharing her story to raise awareness. Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms. Tammy’s advocacy journey took a new turn with the creation of Reflective Spaces Ministry, a nonprofit founded with her husband in Lee County, Florida. Their ten-acre healing sanctuary provides a safe space for survivors to address the mind, body, and spirit wounds inflicted by trauma. Sex And Human Trafficker You Would Not Suspect. Her podcast, Reflective Hour with Tammy Toney-Butler, available on multiple platforms like Apple, Spotify, and YouTube, amplifies survivor voices and offers a message of hope and healing. Tammy’s faith remains at the heart of her mission. Check out the show on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms. Raising Awareness: A Call to Action Familial trafficking is often overlooked by law enforcement, child welfare agencies, and educators. Screening tools frequently fail to identify victims, and the issue remains underreported in media and public awareness campaigns. Tammy highlights the importance of addressing these gaps. It is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. She points out that societal attitudes toward trauma, coupled with a lack of training for law enforcement, hinder progress. Her father’s struggles as a police officer underscore the broader need for comprehensive wellness programs for public safety personnel. Studies reveal high rates of psychological distress among officers, with significant risks of suicide. “Trauma affects us all, whether directly or indirectly,” Tammy says. “We must support those on the front lines, just as we support survivors.” Keep informed by following the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, MeWe, Pinterest, Newsbreak, Medium and other social media outlets. Spreading the Message Through Multiple Platforms Tammy’s story reaches audiences across various platforms, from the podcast interview on the Law Enforcement Tall Radio Show, to social media channels like Facebook and Instagram. Sang's mom is haunted. Everyone has their own explanations for it but it's that simple. Every time she sets the dinner table - she stares at the empty seat. Sometimes smiling, sometimes pouting, but always as if someone is sitting there. Sang would ask - “Mom, is everything alright?” “Just make sure to save some of the meat for Niuniu - you know that's her favorite.” Sang's mom would motion at the empty chair and smile. The haunting started when Niuniu, Sang's little sister, went missing. Nobody knew what happened to her other than the fact that she received a creepy doll with moving eyes shortly before she went missing. 26 years later Niuniu would come back to tell everyone the truth. She was kidnapped, trafficked, and sold. After 26 years she was coming back to kill her trafficker. Get her revenge.
