Sam talks about his background how he grew up hunting on their family dairy farm as a young man, and his journey as a bow hunter and habitat manager. Colin talks about how both of their farms are very similar in many different ways, and both have done similar habitat improvements. Sam talks about switchgrass planting methods, what his main goals are when using switchgrass, and some of the ways he has enhanced his switchgrass for bedding. Sam and Colin discuss some of their experiences after visiting with many clients who utilize switchgrass on their property and talk about their observations. Sam Talks about old field management and how to go about killing and managing cool-season grasses to promote more forbs and woody browse within these open areas on his property. Colin Talks about planting pollinator blends in areas where there are very little native seeds in the seed bank, and also how to fallow some areas to reduce his herbicide use on his farm. Jake tells the story of his most recent mature buck he harvested on his highly managed Michigan property, and how he strategically created a game plan to get this buck in daylight and have an encounter with him, and his plan was executed perfectly. Colin Gives an update on how his season has gone thus far, a recent encounter with a great 3-year-old buck he calls "Crab Claw 7", and several other Hunting observations he has made on how the deer are using new habitat improvements on the farm this year. He also talks about how he cuts on a property, to make it easy to maintain, and maximize space within a bedding area. Next, Jake talks about how he started planting food plots and how much he has learned. He talks about different planting methods he has used, how he has integrated cover crops into his food plots, and also the recent use of Plot Dr products from Harper Growing Solutions, to maximize his food plot yields.
