You like where you live, but there's no telling who (or what) is lurking next door. The possibilities are terrifying. You already know the major plot points: what they drive, how often they mow, who they voted for. You do your best to avoid them. The thought of mail-box small talk with these monsters sends shivers down your spine. Shouldn't we all just mind our own business and keep to ourselves? But… what if the most nightmarish neighbor you know looks at you in the mirror every morning? Jesus seemed to think loving your neighbors was a big deal. But did He mean it? How does someone even become a Bad Neighbor anyway?
Of course we care about other people, we're not monsters. We'll pray for them; we just don't want to get personally involved with them. That feels like too much. You're just one person. You can't meet everybody's needs. If you do something once, they're going to expect it all the time. And that just sounds exhausting. Sure, you want to help people. We tend to be drawn to people who seem similar. It's not hard to like someone who's like you. But often, our neighbors aren't at all like us. They look different, talk different, dress different, believe different, vote different. But Jesus doesn't tell us to show love to those we feel close to, but to those we live next to. How does that work with people you have nothing in common with? Some of these people don't just seem different, they seem dangerous. When Jesus tells us to love our neighbors, there's got to be some exceptions, so what are they? You're busy. Who isn't? Your To-Do list grows faster than you can check it off. There's work and school and bills and goals and kids and…at least seven other things you're forgetting. Isn't this what's annoying about the words of Jesus—He invites us to do things even though we've already got too much to do. How do you care about other people when you can barely find the time to take care of yourself? Is there some secret? How do you juggle it all? Is it even possible to live out these ancient expectations in our modern world? Jesus famously told his followers to love their neighbors. It's a noble idea, but there's a catch: it's hard to show love to someone you've never spent time with. Statistically, most of us don't know our neighbors. We're not intentionally avoiding them; we've just got our own stuff going on. We keep our heads down and mind our own business. And so do they. It's sort of our unspoken agreement. How interested or involved does Jesus want us to be in the lives of those who live next door? Nikki ropes Julie into the show for good reason. Imagine if podcasts didn't exist? What would comedians do? Noa and Brian try to explain the new bill that would ban TikTok. Julie thought she was an Enneagram 3 all week when she is really a 1. Nikki tells an anecdote about her dad not finding his favorite dish on a menu. Julie breaks it to Nikki that her dad is about to upset the whole neighborhood. Nikki is on a mission to get her parents in shape and has been shopping around town for a new gym. They talk about the difference between limerence and manifestation. Nikki loves to perform at the Hard Rock, but Brian doesn't because his gambling problem might be affecting his heart health. In the Final Thought, Nikki explains why she is loving life lately. Bad Neighbors | COGIC Won't Help The Poor If It Means Working With Mormons (LDS)Join us in a heartfelt and honest conversation as we navigate a recent scenario involving the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) and its halted collaboration with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) on a crucial food drive initiative. In a world where unity and collective efforts are paramount, especially when it comes to aiding those in need, we dissect the layers of this decision, exploring the backlash and the labeling of the LDS Church as a 'cult' by some within the COGIC community. We delve deeper at Disrupted Faith, asking the tough question: Should doctrinal differences overshadow humanitarian efforts? How does this decision reflect the love of Christ? Let's disrupt, explore, and seek understanding together in a space where curiosity meets faith authentically.Take a listen! The boys are back and in this episode we discuss some hot topics that we experienced throughout the week. Is it just Justin, or is Dunkin' Donuts scamming people? Probably just Justin... But we discuss his feelings on the subject, as well as his new dietary restrictions that have changed for the 19th time in the last 72 hours. Nick discusses his run in with his not-so friendly neighbor which leads him into quite a confrontation. No, he is not talking "Bad Neighbors" with Seth Rogen either... Justin then explains his chaotic run in with a pedestrian who had no business targeting Justin out of everyone else around them which leads into a not so friendly banter... And a tons more is discussed with our latest movie and entertainment news, along with our theories!

In this final installment from Lollapalooza, I'm psyched to bring you a super hip lineup of diverse artists! First up, I talk to Jordan Topf of Windser who reflects on the early days in his hometown of Santa Cruz, CA as we dissect the nature of vulnerability and its importance in crafting his artistic vision. Jordan's got a new single out, Get Lost, and he's headed out on the road this Fall with The Happy Fits. Usted Señalemelo is the first Argentinian band to play Lollapalooza USA, and we talk about what it means to be on their first US tour, growing up in the small town of Mendoza, and the significance of being a close-knit band of friends who've been playing music together since they were kids. They're having the time of their lives! Hoosh, who attended University of Miami, was born in Sudan and was raised in both the US and the Middle East. I go deep with Hoosh to talk about his family background and how he buried his innate musical talent as a kid and it wasn't until he was in his early 20s when he began to pursue his dreams.Last up, I talk to Chaos and Rage of Bad Neighbors, who enlighten me as to their unique life philosophy of being neither here nor there, of this world or of another, and how pain guides and propels them in their artistic journey. Yes, this convo is as bizarre as it sounds, and as interesting as it gets. A great way to close this Lolla interview Series!!
