We are kicking off season 3 of The Mountain Top Motivation Podcast with a value packed episode that every business owner, and service provider needs to hear! I had the pleasure of speaking with Cynthia Wellbrock, a successful lawyer who has built her law firm through one intentional referral strategy. Cynthia shared powerful insights on how to bring in consistent referrals to build a thriving business. Referrals are the holy grail of lead generation in the world of business. They have a higher lifetime value and often come with a level of trust and credibility that is difficult to achieve through other marketing efforts. Cynthia's referral system involves building relationships with strategic partners that will keep bringing business again and again! My favorite part of this strategy is that it is applicable to any type of business! I am excited for you to dig into this episode and apply what you learn so you can see amazing results! Thank you Cynthia for sharing your experience on the show! More about Cynthia: Cynthia admitted to practice law in Colorado in 1997 and founded The Law Office of Cynthia E. Wellbrock, LLC in 2002. For almost 26 years Cynthia has focused almost exclusively upon her passion for employment law and gained extensive experience representing both employees and businesses. She has made numerous appearances in both state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies. In her employment practice Cynthia has handled a myriad of employment law issues such as harassment and discrimination, wage & hour issues, medical leaves, wrongful termination, employment contracts and non-compete agreements. Because of her experience on both sides of the table – employee and employer – she brings a unique perspective to her practice and her clients. In addition she also provides training for small businesses to help them improve their employment practices - and thus avoid litigation. In 2019 she founded The Respectful Workplace, a training company focused upon helping companies address the issue of disrespectful and sometimes toxic workplace behaviors that lead to lower employee productivity, increased employee stress, increased turnover, lower morale and of course – lower profits. The time for this type of training is now given the rising number of high profile claims of sexual harassment – and the resulting high costs to employers in terms of settlement payments and legal judgments. Her training program is presented in a way that is both enlightening and engaging to attendees and provides them with tools to foster a respectful work environment that people enjoy working in and which stimulates company growth and profits. Everyone has days when they are not feeling it. We are not machines, we are humans. There's a lot of talk in the personal development world about pushing yourself to the limits every day. That is great, but sometimes we need to remember that we are not machines I need a break. If you are not feeling it there's nothing wrong with you. Do not judge yourself, and just choose one simple step to move yourself forward! Thanks for listening! Jake Ballentine

We Did It!!! The Lesson I learned From My Four Year Old Son We all need help! This weekend we went to Yellowstone National Park and had a blast! There was lots of walking and it eventually became too much for my 4 year olds little legs. On one hike up many switch backs my son asked for help up the trail. He asked if I could be his horse! I carried him up the hill on my back. When we reached the top he yelled “we did it!” We all had a good laugh and celebrated reaching the top! Later on I was thinking about how he didn't say “you did it” he said “we did it!” We had, he did as much as he could and then asked for help the rest of the way. We all need help from time to time. There is nothing wrong with that. Many of us are afraid to ask for help, it's ok! You can ask for help. It doesn't take away from your accomplishments. In fact, the most successful people in the world have coaches, mentors, and guides. It doesn't take away from their success, it just means they were smart enough to ask for help. Ask for help! If you have a goal, there is someone out there who has done it. If you are trying your best and can't quite make it, there is someone further along who wants to help. Don't be afraid to ask for help. We all need it! Thanks for listening! Jake Ballentine See you at the top! PS get our free 5 part Number One Goal Video Series at https://yournumberonegoal.com

This past week I had a funny experience getting my tires changed that sparked a life lesson solo podcast episode! I had waited too long to get my tires changed so I knew I needed to get them changed before I left for our adventure to Yellowstone National Park! After they were finished I went to pick up the car. The moment I left the parking lot, every warning light you could imagine started blinking on my dash board! I went back to the tire shop only to find that they had put 3 matching tires and a 4th that was a different size! The car was out of balance! Once they figured out what happened they were very apologetic, and told me it would never happen again. I was not worried. I have done business with them for a long time. They replaced the odd tire and said, "I'm glad your car caught this right away because when a car is out of balance it can create serious damage!" It didn't create damage right away but being out of balance for a while would have damaged the car. This made me think about our lives. All of us get out of balance from time to time. In fact there are seasons of life where you will be out of balance. You are out of balance when you have a big project, you were out of balance during final weeks in college, you are out of balance during the holidays. We can do this when the season requires it but if we stay out of balance for too long it will do damage. After thinking about it, I am glad this funny experience happened because I got to have this life lesson and reminder. Enjoy this episode! Jake Ballentine Mountain Top Motivation See you at the top!
