Chris Barragan received an M.A. in Pastoral Care and Counseling as well as a B.A. in History from Biola University. He is the Assistant Director of Pastoral Care and leads The Dwelling, an on campus ministry for students that experience same-sex attraction or identify as lgbtq. He also oversees Depths, a program for students seeking freedom from pornography. Chris believes that you can never have too many tacos, and that there is always room for one more cup of coffee. Chad is the Director of Student Led Ministries and Spiritual Formation at Biola University. He leads some of the chapels, teaches Spiritual Formation, and shares an advisory role to Biola's Student Missionary Union. Chad served as a pastor locally for 12 years before he came to Biola and has been married to Beth since 2002. He got his undergraduate degree from Biola University in Communication Studies and Masters in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. After this, he met his wife and has now been married for 53 years. He has also received a Masters Degree in Old Testament from Trinity Theological seminary as well as a Ph.D in Hebrew and Biblical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He has taught for 40 years at Biola University in Old Testament. Specific to our topic today, he has also written a commentary on the Song of Songs that you should definitely check out if you're looking to dive deeper. He has been a passionate advocate for biblical gender equality since the 1980's. Ron has authored numerous journal articles, edited Discovering Biblical Equality (2005), and written Partners in Marriage & Ministry (2011). He believes that men and women should mutually share leadership in the church, home and society without gender bias or restriction.
